Recovering in Sundew

Synopsis:	Drift is taken in after a defeat by Princess Sarracenia.

Sarracenia has posed:
     It has been a few days after the battle in the Caverns of Prophecy. And Wally has been dozing peacefully in the Sundew hospital. After he healed, it was determined that he was suffering from some sort of malnutrition, so he has been being given nutrients through intraveinous solutions. And his outfit has been removed in favor of a hospital gown. But, not to fear, it is nearby and has been stitched back together where it was torn. The visor has been repaired as well with some sort of resin.

     If he wakes up, Drift would find his clothing in the nearby closet, and a proper meal awaiting him beside his bed on one of those rolling trays. He would also notice that the hospital staff is a strange mixture of human nurses and pirahna plant doctors. Each nurse is dressed in an old-school white nurse's outfit complete with the hat, and the plant doctors wear white coats and a headband with a reflective metal disk on it.

Wally West (694) has posed:
Drift was out cold, which was-- not the best thing ever. He has been taken in by that crazy princess. Worse is that they actually removed his suit, visor, and thus-- seen his face. They know if they did a check that he was Wally West and Drift was just an alternate codename.

Though if they couldn't look that up, cause most records would have that info wiped-- then he may be safe-- ish.

So when he does wake up and spots a plant doctor looking at him. He about leaps out of bed, until he spins around and comes to face to face with one of the nurses. "...Why-- hello there nurse." Though this is also about the time he notices his suit is over /there/ and he-- he is in one of those medical gowns.

This is also when he notices an IV attached to his arm and he gives it a funny look. "...ah hell.." is all he has to say now.

Sarracenia has posed:
     The plant doctor seems as surprise as Wally when he suddenly leaps out of bed. The nurse too is surprised, but when he greets her with that kind of predictable line, she just giggles. "You should not be up so fast. You have been out for days." the nurse says. The plant doctor grumbles, "Get back in bed! You will hurt yourself again leaping out like that with a needle in your arm!" The nurse smiles kindly, then gently urges Wally back toward the bed.

     IF they know who he is, they aren't giving any hints. Or they just don't consider him anything special. Just another patient. "Is something wrong?" the nurse asks when Wally curses.

Wally West (694) has posed:
"Fast is.. kinda what I do." Wally admits, as he does at least go sit back down and smiles at the nurse, "And for you sweet heart-- I'll do whatever you ask." He then gives her a wink.

As for why he cursed, Wally then hrms on how to explain this. "See that suit.. I need that back on soon as possible. You see-- people are not suppose to see my face. Its a.. Identity thing, you know?" He glances over at the plant doctor. Did that thing /really/ do stuff to him?

His gaze goes back to the nurse. "But being you guys are medical staff, I can count on the whole confidential thing-- right?"

Sarracenia has posed:
     The young nurse blushes just a bit as Wally speaks to her, then blinks before looking over at the suit. "Oh! Are you a super hero?" she asks as she goes to retrieve the visor. She smiles warmly then places it on Wally's head. "As far as we know, you are merely...um..." She looks upward with her eyes, as if trying to remember. It should be noted at this point that she is blonde-haired. "...well, I don't even know who you are." she says, smiling.

     The Doctor just grumbles again then heads to a nearby phone and picks it up before dialing. After what seems like a few rings, he grumbles out, "He is awake, your highness. ...Yes, he seems fine. ...no, he did not ask about you." The following 'WHAT?!' can be heard even by Wally, and the doctor winces. "Perhaps he has not had a chance yet." the doctor grumbles calmly. "Or perhaps Nurse Talli is distracting him. I just know he is awake, and you asked to be notified." The doctor then hangs up before turning to Wally. "You had better hope the Princess is in a good mood. Which, judging by her demeanor, she is not." he says, then leaves the room.

Wally West (694) has posed:
Wally fixes the head piece and smiles at the nurse. "You could say that, sweet-heart." Her reflection caught in his visor. "..And the name is Drift." Though when the doctor talks with the Princess and she yells what, he winces softly.

Then he can only smile softly as the doctor walks off grumbling, "I'm sure it will be fine. She'll probably get over it." He then gives the nurse a bit of a wave. "And you take care, sweet-heart. Don't ever lose those legs."

Such a flirt.

Sarracenia has posed:
     If the princess is headed here, which seems very likely, it will take at least a few minutes. Plenty of time to escape for the fastest man alive. But, hopefully he will put on the rest of his costume before racing out the door. The nurse just giggles again as Drift flirts. "That's silly. I am quite attatched to them." she says, smiling. She then walks toward the door herself. "I will give you some privacy so you can get dressed. Don't forget to eat your meal! I prepared it just for you." she says. Well, technically the kitchen staff prepared it, but she delivered it! It is pretty good looking food, too. For hospital food. A nice looking turkey sandwich with wedge fries and a milkshake, as well as the usual jello.

     And that's it. They obviously have no idea who Drift is.

Wally West (694) has posed:
For one, Drift goes to make sure the IV is out. The next he does is actually put on his suit, which he does in a blur of speed. He then kicks back on the bed and starts to chow down. However-- not all things can be done fast.. like eating, he can eat pretty quick-- but not like super speed quick.

That and he knows better then to slurp down a milkshake fast. That gets you brain freeze!

Though he could eat and /run/, but he rather not take that chance either.

This means that the Princess could catch him scarfing down the last of his food.

Sarracenia has posed:
     Naturally, right as Wally is getting near the end of his milkshake, the door to his room bursts open. And there is Princess Sarracenia. "Good, you are still here. I wanted to know..." She walks toward Wally. At least she seems to be without her hammer. "...how do you intend to repay me for my gracious kindness!" she demands! Nurse Talli comes in behind her, holding a long slip of paper. "Um...this is...your bill." she says, then hands it to Drift. With three days of bed use, nutrients, and the usual other charges, the total comes to several thousand credits. No doubt inflated a bit thanks to the princess.

     "Aaand, for the repairs to my dress, and the items I had to use to defeat you!" Talli hands Drift another bill, totalling another few thousand credits. "So!" the princess says, smirking. "How do you intend to pay? You are a mercenary, right? So, I don't have to treat you like a prisoner of war."

Wally West (694) has posed:
Drift takes the bills and he keeps on drinking that milkshake. Princess goes on and on, he kind of drowns it out as he smiles at the nurse. Before he looks over to the Princess. He then gets up on his feet and stretches.

"Yeah, I am a Mercenary, which means I don't work for free." He then crosses his arms over his chest. "So if you want me to work for /you/ to clear off this debt.. I could.. that be the /right/ thing to do-- now wouldn't it."

Drift then leans in and looks at her face to face. His eyes were level with hers, even if she couldn't see it past her own reflection. "But tell me Princess-- is that what your champion hero would /want/ you to do? To hold up a merc and him pay in servitude, or be honestly thankful for your kindness. Showing to those around that the Confederacy are not all a bunch of super bad guys?"

Sarracenia has posed:
     Sarracenia blinks as Drift brings up a valid point. She looks at her reflection in the visor, then hmphs. "It is my hero's job to be kind and forgiving and reasonable, not mine!" she says, then huffs in annoyance. "And, how is it bad to expect a bill to be paid!" But, the more she thinks about it, the more she thinks Drift might be right. Would a hero want to save someone who held a merc to servitude? The princess sighs heavily. "It...it isn't unreasonable to want a bill to be paid..."

     She hmphs again and crosses her arms over her chest. "Well...fine. You don't have to work for me as a slave until your bill is paid, but I -do- expect payment. And as such, I will be requiring your signature on this document, unless you are able to pay right now." She reaches into her purse, and pulls out a legal promisory note with the amount owed, the monthly payment amount, and a spot for Drift to sign. "After all, we wouldn't want you being a merc who's word is no good, would we?"

Wally West (694) has posed:
Drift looks at the document she hands out and crosses his arms over his chest, "How about this babe-- cause my word is my bond... I do two jobs for you and the Confederacy. Those two jobs, we call it even.."

"Mostly cause I don't like monthly payment and you get my service, free of charge.. and thus repaying you-- for what you done for me." He then places out his hand to her, "Deal?"

Sarracenia has posed:
     The princess lets out an annoyed 'nnng' as the counterproposal is made. "I am supposed to take the word of an unknown merc that his word is his bond?" She clenches her fists until Talli places a hand on her should. "Um...Princess Sarracenia, it would show a great deal of good will on your part if you took this deal. It would raise your reputation, if only modestly, and prove to any would-be heroes that you are a princess worth saving." the nurse says. Sarracenia makes another annoyed sound. "I am already a princess worth saving! Why should I prove it?! And it is not free of charge! You would be working to pay off your debt!" She seems to be a sore loser.

Wally West (694) has posed:
Wally gives Talli a grin, but that grins stays on his face as he address the Princess, "Then I guess we got a deal? Two jobs which will pay off the debt and they can be whatever your highness likes." Though he does cross his arms over his chest. "Though I will not and do not kill. So if any of these assignments got to do with murdering..you can forget it."

At least he is a mercenary with standards!

Sarracenia has posed:
     Princess Sarracenia blinks, seeming surprised to hear that they have a deal. Then, she realizes what she said and she whines before pouting. "Fine! I don't like killing either! If I did, you would be dead on that mountain!" she says, turning away with her arms crossed and her cheeks puffed out a bit from pouting. Talli seems happy to hear this as well, giving a wink to Wally before smiling to the princess.

Wally West (694) has posed:
Drift then slides over and places his hands around Talli's and the Princess' shoulders. "I knew we could work something out." He then slides away from them both and snaps his fingers like a gun point at them both. "Now if you ladies don't mind. I need to bolt out of here."

He looks over to the Princess, "You know how to reach me when you need me, so you know--" he then points to Talli, "Call me." With that he is suddenly gone in a blur of motion and speed.

Sarracenia has posed:
     The princess tolerates the shoulder draping, and Talli giggles at Drift's antics. When Talli is pointed at for 'call me' and Sarra is not, though, it pokes at both her pride and jealousy. "If anyone calls you, it will be me! And why wouldn't you want me to call you?! I am a beautiful princess! She is just a nurse!"

     Apparently Sarra's pride and temper are well known in her kingdom, because Talli just giggles softly and shakes her head.
