Charity Date: Freya and Zod
Date of Scene: 26 February 2015
Location: Strait of the Americas
Synopsis: Zod and Freya go on their charity date. It doesn't turn out terrible!
Cast of Characters: 524, 578

General Zod (524) has posed:
Nothing's says 'innocent date' like a carnival. One hopes. Freya has selected the venue for this chairty date, since Zod has absolutely no clue about what is appropriate for a date and would probably just have taken Freya on a very boring tour of the Black Zero if it were left up to him. Maybe topped off with watching the sun rise from orbit. He understands that sunrises are very romantic in most cultures.
But here is Zod, waiting for his date, wearing a black button-up polo shirt that doesn't quite fit him and khaki slacks. He was told this is appropriate date attire in many places.

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya is a bit excited and a bit neverous about this charity date. Zod is a well know conferate, she only read a few reports about his explots so she curious about what he is like in person. She picked a carvial lots to do and it a quite informal place for a date! She just wearing her normal outfit her usual purple dress, she doesn't want to be too formal and it hard enough for her to find clothing! She did put on some blush and makeup, she does want to look her best! She spots Zod waving "Hello!", she says cheerfully as she walks over to him. She her normal human size, it make this difficult at her usual 50 foot size!

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod smiles and offers a hand for Freya to shake. Wasn't she supposed to be taller? he thinks. "Good evening, Miss Freya, a pleasure to meet you. I'm... "
Here, he hesitates since he is so used to be addressed by his rank. "... No, this isn't the battlefield or a strategy meeting. Please call me Dru-Zod." He finally says, taking a breath. This is going to be one strange night for Zod.

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya nods. "Okay Dru-Zod is is.", it better than what was she was thinking of Zod-chan. "You can just call me Freya."

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod nods to Frey, and gestures towards the entrance of the carnival. "Shall we then?"

General Zod (524) has posed:
Fair food! Truly there are few stranger breeding grounds for new cuisine than a carnival. Zod sees... Fried ice cream (how does that work?), fried catfish (which doesn't sound bad to him...), artistic cotton candy (interesting), corn dogs, fried sweet potatoes, fried barbecue pork sticks. Just about... anything can be found fried at this carnival, leaving Zod to wonder if there's some kind of multiversal rule that things taste better when fried. Fried swedish meatballs? Well, that one intrigues him and he buys some for himself and offers to buy some for Freya as well if she likes.

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya looks around all the food. Is there anything that can't be fried? She likes the fried ice cream, and she points and wants to try the fried sweet potaotes as well. So any choices...

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod pays for Freya's food, because he seems to remember it being polite most places for men to pay for their date's meals and such. He's not sure how that works with the variations on dates though.
Zod eats a fried swedish meatball and chews it slowly, crunchy sounds being made as he does. It looks like he is seriously contemplating how this 'food' is.
Finally, he swallows it and states, "I don't think frying swedish meatballs does them any good... It loses the soft interior and dries everything out." He glances at the remaining two meatballs (they're fairly big). Not sure if he still wants them...

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya says, "I've never tired them myself. I'm a vegitarian. I'll have to pass on the freid swedish meatballs. We should get something to drink Oh look a craft beer!", she points at stand selling craft beer."

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod glances at the stand. He assumes that Freya wants to try it.
"I hope I'm not offending if I eat meat in front of you." He says as he ambles on up to the craft beer stand, glancing at it. Beer. Something really unfamiliar to Zod. Alcohol was virtually unknown on his Krypton because of how scarce resources were. Why waste precious grain on producing an intoxicant? Well, this could be really bad if hits him like a brick wall. He pays for... two, he assumes.
Zod has fought wars, faced genetic monstrosities, and whipped a bunch of unrepentant criminals into a crew. And yet the man is feeling awkward and unsure of himself around a 5" tall woman. He is fairly unsettled tonight.

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya ahs. "No no! I'm okay with other people eating meat!", she yahs as she get her beer. If she watns her nomal size it still be a sight for different reason. She drink down half of her beer in one gulp! "This is pretty good!!"

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod tastes the beer, It is bitter, somewhat yeasty. Strangely sweet taste to it. There are no supersenses here, just Zod paying close attention to what his nose and tongue is telling him.
"Hmm.." He considers the beer for a moment, then drinks it down. "I don't think they had beer on my world for quite some time. What is it exactly?" He asks after he finishes the glass.

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya says, "It's mostly fermented barely. They add in a few other thigns to give it flavor. You can do with alot of other starches I belive."

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod ahhs as he throws the cup in... what he thinks is a recycle bin. He glances around at the carnival, surveying what's around. "Well, now that we've had food and drink, perhaps we should take in some of these rides?" He eyes the rollercoaster, ferris wheel, and the tilt-a-whirl that are visible above the food vendor stands.

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya says, "That sounds like a good idea. How about the rollercoaster? I never been on one myself!""

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod nods his assent to the idea. There's a bit of a line, which annoys Zod slightly because he is not one used to waiting in a line. Then finally...
Zod frowns as the metal bar comes down to keep the passengers seated. "Such a primitive safety feature.." He says quietly as he looks at it and all the mechanisms and such as the coaster starts it's way up. "I fail to see the appeal of-" and he's interrupted by the extremely surprising fact that the world dropped out from under him as the coaster starts its descent.

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya sighs and waits in line for a bit a bit exicted about going on the coaster looks like they will never get on then, finally they do! She sits down, the metal bar coming down to protect them. "Here we gooo!", she says on the climb up then they go down rapidly! She screams in delight, that what you do on rollercoaster raising her arms up as well!

General Zod (524) has posed:
When the ride is over, Zod is very certain he is never doing that again. Aerial combat at supersonics speeds bother him less than that did. Not knowing really which way it was going to end up. No thank you!
Zod kind of stumbles off the rollercoaster, still not really sure why people find that to be /fun/.

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya whoos getting off feeling a bit queezy "Oh that waw fun!", she looks over at Zod. "Are you okay?"

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod nods at Freya. "Yes, just disoriented. The roller coaster was... very surprising."

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya says, ""I see mabye we should try something a bit slower then?""

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod nods to Freya. "That sounds wise. What would you suggest?"

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya hmms. "How about the ferris wheel? It alot more steady ride."

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod glances at it. "Yes, it looks like it would , Freya." And he heads towards it, presumably keeping in step with Freya.
There's a line again, and Zod notices that many of the people in line are young couples, holding hands and being a lot closer to each other than his Kryptonian sensibilities liked. Hmm... presumably people went on the ferris wheel to have intimate contact? He suddenly wished he had his suit and armor on, so he could feel intimidating to this crowd of people.
Zog clears his throat, feeling nervous about the ferris wheel. "If you want a view on high of the city, Freya, I could just take you flying instead."

Freya (578) has posed:
"Really? You can? I would love that!", Freya can get a pretty high view herself thought she can't fly.

General Zod (524) has posed:
Somehow this does not calm Zod down and makes things worse. Er, well, he offered. He steps out of line, inviting Freya to stand next to him. "Now, don't think I'm being forward, but I'm going to put my arm around your waist..." There's some awkwardness in his voice as he explains that she'll need to put her own arms around his shoulders and hold on tight.

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya nods and puts her arms around his waist. "Like this?", she says getting a firm grip.

General Zod (524) has posed:
There's a subsonic rumble, and dirt swirls around Zod's feet before the duo takes off, not at a fast pace mind you, into the sky. There's probably a few people who're kind of just staring after Zod and Freya since who expects to see somebody fly off in the middle of a carnival?
Zod takes Freya up about three hundred feet, high enough to show the sweeping expanse of the city at night. Building lights, the moving lights of vehicles on the road. It's quiet up here except for the breeze. It's also chilly, though Zod never notices things like that. "It's strange how being up here puts things into perspective." He comments, looking around at the sights beneath them.

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya smiles and looks down. "Yes it does.. Everything is so fragile.", she been up at this height before but she not going to ruin the moment, and this is a bit different from how she normally sees things from up here.

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod ruminates. "Yes, fragile. A lattice of people and places. The city lives and breathes through them. And then living worlds are made up of cities and the places in-between."

General Zod (524) has posed:
After some moments of quiet, Zod brings Freya down near the midway games, not particularly caring if people see them or not.
"Well, looks like there's an opportunity to win prizes, Freya." he says with a smirk as he spots contests of skill such as knocking down milk bottles with baseballs, dart throwing things, and even a test of strength bell thing.

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod nods, still grinning because this is definitely a place he can do things.
First up is knocking all the bottles down. Zod is handed the old worn baseball, which he examines for any hidden tricks like magnets or things like that. And then he throws it. Knocking the bottles that are glued together and the board they were glued to as well. And the bottles are rather shattered as well. Zod gives the operator a disapproving look and lets Freya pick the prize.
And now dart throwing. Five darts, pop balloons! More balloons you pop, the better the prize. And... naturally, five balloons get popped despite the dulled darts and underinflated balloons (Zod doesn't notice this, since it's fairly subtle). Again, Zod lets Freya pick the prize.
Eventually, Zod gets bored with the games of skill and Freya has probably accumulated no small number of prizes. Zod sizes up the strength bell challenge. "Well... this hardly seems fair for me to do this, Freya, but let's give these people something to talk about...

Freya (578) has posed:
Freya giggles and is enjoying the show holding wayy to many stuff animals now. "Show them what you made of Zod!"

General Zod (524) has posed:
Zod hefts the hammer in one hand. "Oh, that _is_ a good weight." And then slams it down on the board one-handed, sending the little slug shooting upward. The bell clangs as it's knocked off the board, the impact knocking the years of accumulated dust from the strength bell and rattling the wood.
The operator, an older man, claps and laughs. "That was pretty good, son! Last time that happened, it was a kid from Smallville. Here, pick a prize for your lady!"
