Date of Scene: 10 March 2015
Location: TARGET: The Rookery (TR)
Synopsis: Lute and Zephyr get into a fight for control of the Rookery.
Cast of Characters: 162, 188

Lute (188) has posed:
Lute has not been having a good time of things recently. For about a week or so, perhaps more, his luck has been turning around. Things have not been going his way. Normally, he can deal with the fact that his life is a constant stream of dissapointment and bad luck. But, for a brief bit in February, /everything/ was going his way.

     And, now it stopped.

The sudden twist in his luck is simply too much for him. And so, he is going to take it out on the Union, and their forces. He flies into the Rookery, on the back of Giratina. Trailing him are his horde of Unown, flying after him in sevearl lines. They circle the Rookery, and Lute looks down at the troops below, the various Union encampments.

He's not going to hold back, not going to pull his punches, and not going to make this a casual affair, at all. He is not going to be his normal self.

He is, quite simply, going to destroy as much as possible.

The Unown have no need to be ordered around by Lute verbally. These are the few Pokemon he has a mental connection to now. And so they just start flying down towards the Union encampments. They send out bursts of Hidden Power, the bizarre wave of multi-colored energy which can be any elemental type. They aren't aiming to incapacitate, as Lute would normally do in such a casual battle. Instead, they're simply aiming to kill.

A wicked smile is slowly forming along Lute's face. Yeah. Samar was right. Just letting your negative emotions out as rage towards your enemy is a /great/ way to deal with the problems.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
"SET UP!" cries a female voice from somewhere in the encampments. A burst of purple light surges out of one of the tents, as the ground forces scatter, retreating to hardened bunkers.

Zephyr wastes no time, surging through the swarm of Unown and hacking in a flurry with her Device, a thin trail of purple light following every swing.

Lute (188) has posed:
The moment the Unown are attacked, Lute knows instantly. They alert him to this, giving him flashes of their own vision. Showing Zephyr cutting them down. And Lute smiles. Well. It seems an Elite has arrived to defend. He is not surprised by this. In fact, he was hoping for this. He needs /someone/ who can take what he can dish out for a while. Someone who he can get rid of some of his rage against.

     "DRAGON CLAW!"

He shouts this to Giratina. Giratina, of course, knows the target. He can see a bit better than Lute, and knows who the biggest threat here is just by watching the Unown getting beaten down. And so, the shadowy dragon flies down, coming at Zephyr from behind. On its wings it has massive claw-spikes, and it brings them in towards Zephyr, trying to claw into her with them as it passes by.

Normally, Lute would make some attempt to offer a chance for them to escape. But, not today. No, that is not the /point/ of today. Instead, Lute just laughs like a madman, as if he is getting complete joy out of this already.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
<KITE SHIELD!> chimes Divine Wind, partly deflecting that strike, though the sheer force shatters the shield quickly, sending the Mage down into the ground with plume of dust on impact. Zephyr growls, picking herself up and glaring skywards at the dragon and its rider.

<MISTRAL SQUALL. EMPOWERMENT MODE!> chimes the Device, as Zephyr brings the axe up like a wand. The blade shifts, rotating along the axis of the haft in a 180 motion, providing a 'sight' for the mage. <MISTRAL BUSTER!> it chimes again, magic gathering into the gemstone, while the two Bits rotate around it lazily, providing cohesion.

She follows Giratina's path, letting Divine Wind feed prediction adjustments into her vision to line up her shot, then she calls "FIRE!" unleashing the purple beam of raw magic.

Lute (188) has posed:
The beam of magic impacts into Giratina, leaving a nice magic burn on its side. It's flight pattern is thrown off a bit. But, Lute himself remains calm. Or, perhaps calm is not the right word. Instead, he is feeling a sort of tranquil fury right now. He holds up another Pokeball, releasing yet another Pokemon.

     "FIRE FANG!"

As Lute shouts this, Arcanine moves in. Arcanine speeds along, rnning at a high speed, as it heads towards Zephyr. As it leaps in, it is careful to try and avoid the axe itself. But, it still aims for the arms. It opens its mouth, fire filling it, as it tries to bite down /hard/ at Zephyr's arm.

Lute, meanwhile? He stands tall atop Giratina, balancing himself well despite being on a flying Pokemon. He holds his arms out to his side. And, the Unown begin flying to him. Merging with his body. Most of his body is now a mass of black, spotted with the unblinking eyes of the Unown. And Lute just starts laughing, once again.

"...Well. You picked the /completely/ wrong defense mission to take up. You're going to leave here with /every/ limb broken, if I have anything to say about it."

This, honestly, is /completely/ atypical behavior for Lute. Normally, he'd at least /try/ to flirt with Zephyr. But, instead, he wants to harm her and nothing else. This isn't even like his other side, his cold, calm, and collected sociopath side. This is, most likely, 'dumb' Lute.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr sees that giant dog coming, and brings her right arm up in a defensive posture. <WINNOWING WREATH!> chimes the Device, as her entire body is covered in a thin 'film' of magic. She takes the bite in her off-hand arm, screaming in pain as her defensive ward buckles, and those flaming fangs sink into her flesh.

Zephyr brings her Axe around, and presses the head against Arcanine's chest, firing off a 'pulse' of energy to try and knock it away. Even if unsuccessful, she deploys another spell, countless motes of light appearing around her, which lance out with a barrage of 'homing bullets' at Lute and Giratina. "It'll take more than you to break me." she replies defiantly.

Lute (188) has posed:
The beam strikes into Arcanine, causing it to fly back, bouncing along the ground. It will take it a second to get up. But, as the mass of countless beams fly in towards Lute, Lute realizes there isn't a way he can possibly dodge it.

     "GIRATINA! TANK IT!"

So instead, he has Giratina fly up, and block the hits for him. Lute takes none of the damage directly himself. But, the moment the beams vanish from the sky? Lute leaps forward, through the air. Every single Unown Eye that can possibly see Zephyr is turning to face her, at the moment.

And, as Lute comes in, he lifts a palm. One of the eyes is upon it. And, from it, a circular burst of energy flies out. Though it is prismatic in color, it does in fact have an element, randomly, each time Lute uses it. And this time, the Hidden Power has the the element of Electricity to it.

But, Lute isn't even done after that attack. For, he keeps moving in, and with the other arm, tries to punch at Zephyr, right in the face. This is /also/ unusual for him. He generally won't attack a woman in the face. But, it'll be quite a strike as well if it hits, due to the boosted strength Lute holds due to the Unown he is wearing as armor.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
The Arcanine is knocked clear. Good. For a moment, Zephyr touches her wounded arm, wincing a little as blood trickles from the wounds. <MASTER! INCOMING!> warns Divine Wind. "We've got permission. DRIVE MAX!"

A flash of purple engulfs the mage, accompanied by the clarion call of <MAXIMUM DRIVE. BARRIER JACKET SET. TEMPEST MODE. MISTRAL TEMPEST. AREA MODE. ALL SYSTEMS GREEN!> As Lute dives in to attack, the pulse of Hidden Power strikes the 'bubble', negated by the defensive barrier. The punch is grappled by an armoured right arm, supported by thick plate metal. The rest of the girl comes out of the bubble as it collapses, and she jabs her Device into Lute's midsection. "Stun Mode. Disable. Maelstrom Buster."

Divine Wind chimes wordlessly this time, as magical arcs crackle around the head of her Device, and a high power pulse of raw magic fires out at point blank range.

Lute (188) has posed:
The raw blast of magic engulfs Lute. But, after it ends, he is still there, albeit worse for wear. The Unown upon him look damaged more than anything, though. They are, in fact, his armor at the moment. But, when they come off? He is going to feel the pain of this. And he is going to feel it hard.

Lute launches another punch. This one, aimed for Zephyr's stomach. But, even as he does so, he shouts to his Arcanine, and his Giratina.

     "FLAME THROWER! SHADOW SNEAK!"

The burst of flames comes from Arcanine, moving to engulf Zephyr. And, Giratina's shadow stretches out from its body, the shadow itself moving to try and claw at Zephyr.

And Lute just glares at Zephyr.

"Awesome. I /wanted/ a better fight than what you were putting up before."

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr's reinforced Barrier Jacket manages to dull the punch, making her grunt more than anything else... though the Flame Thrower and Shadow Sneak attacks do a bit more. Purple light springs out to deflect some of the flames, scorch marks showing up on her right arm plates and her skirt shredding near the bottom hem. The claws of the shadow rake across her armour, leaving gleaming silver welts in its wake.

"We'll see just how confident you are when I'm beating your face into the GROUND!" she snarls in reply. Divine Wind chimes, as the Bits draw in to attach to her back(2) and the counterweight side of her axe(3). <MISTRAL TEMPEST. BOOSTER TWO. STRIKER THREE. MISTRAL CUTTER. STORM SHIFT!> The mage seems to blurr out of sight, rapidly appearing and slashing at Giratina, Arcanine and Lute himself with a brightly glowing axe blade. Instead of the non-lethal 'bludgeons' of before, these strikes are fully sharp and will cleave through their target like a normal axe.

Lute (188) has posed:
As Zephyr rapidly moves across the battlefield, slicing and dicing, Giratina and Arcanine roar out with pain. Lute just grimmaces. Though Lute /should/ be bleeding at this, and cuts are visibly forming? Nothing is coming out, and the Unown are reforming over his body. Trying to keep him together. Patching him up, on a temporary basis.

Lute reaches into his pocket, the Unown moving so he can. Another Pokeball is pulled out. From it, a Tyranitar appears.

And, Lute says a phrase that many Pokemon Trainers fear.

     "Hyperbeam."

Tyrannitar opens its mouth, and a massive beam of energy /bursts/ out from it, trying to engulf Zephyr. And Lute just keeps laughing madly.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr grunts softly coming to a pause as her Linker Core pulsates oddly. It's this opening that lets Tyrannitar get a bead on her... and her scream echos across the Rookery. Blasted back by the force, the mage skips and skids along the ground, armour melting and simply being blasted clear in places.

It looks like she's down for the count, but with effort, she pushes herself back to her feet, and pulses magic to clear debris from around her. Zephyr sets her stance, draws her device back with both hands on the haft, and narrows her eyes. <BOOSTER TWO. STRIKER THREE. MISTRAL CUTTER, IMPACT SHIFT!> this time, she's visible, charging along the ground with a trail of purple magic in her wake. It's not until she's close that she vanishes from sight, appearing behind the Tyrannitar and attempting to cleave through its back with the blade of her axe glowing brightly.

Lute (188) has posed:
As Zephyr appears behind the Tyrannitar, he is too slow to react. He can't dodge it in time. All he can do is turn his head back, hearing her come in. Which is why it is luck, for the Tyranitar at least, that Lute's Unown can alert him to things Lute wouldn't see with his own eyes.

So, as the axe comes in, Lute steps in, reaching a hand up to grab the shaft of the axe. It doesn't stop the Tyrannitar from being struck, instead slowing the strike. And Lute just smiles, delivering a quick roundhouse kick to Zephyr.

     "GIRATINA! SHADOW BALL!"

Hopefully managing to kick Zephyr away a bit, Lute gives that order. And, Giratina launches it from his mouth, the orb of Ghost type energy, which will explode on impact.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
The kick sends Zephyr flying away, though a flash of purple light at the impact point might give away that it didn't directly connect with her. She rights herself quickly, and as the Shadow Ball comes in she holds position. Just before impact that 'version' of Zephyr simply vanishes, allowing the ball to pass through and strike the ground harmlessly.

Appearing behind Lute again, Zephyr goes in for a rapid series of strikes, a punch, kick, a round-house swipe with her axe, 'comboing' at him with all her boosted speed and power.

Lute (188) has posed:
The series of blows is seen coming, but Lute can't dodge in time. He is struck, over and over, only managing to dampen a few of the blows. But, as he ends up sent flying by the final strike, he skids ahead along the ground. He turns around. And he smiles.

"...Yeah, this is /exactly/ what I need. But. My turn, now!"

The Unown leave his body, suddenly. His wounds are bleeding out now, and the bruises and cuts are visible in general. He looks /incredibly/ tired due to all of this. But, he's still laughing, madly. The Unown fly forward, circling Zephyr. And they move in, pummeling her, one after another. With each one that manages to strike, a burst of Hidden Power occurs. Every single element of a Pokemon can use bursts out from the Hidden Power of the Unown, as they just attempt to pummel Zephyr, over and over again.

And Lute just keeps laughing, like a madman, watching this. It's almost like he's absolutely lost it.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
<MASTER! EVADE!> chimes Divine Wind. "No time, Shield!" <RAMPART AEGIS!>

The barrage strikes into a hastily erected shield, transluscent purple magic taking the multi-element bombardment. The sheer number of different energy types begins to overwhelm the shield, as it tries to rotate to absorb one, only to get struck by a different or opposing one. Cracks form, holes break open, and eventually, the girl is undefended. As the dust clears, the Mage is serverely battered, panting for breath with her Barrier Jacket in ruins. It still covers her modesty, but there's not much left of the armour, and great tears showing in the cloth and leather undergarments.

"Divine Wind is giving me the power, to make sure that monsters like you cannot roam free!" <STRIKER SYSTEM OVERDRIVE. STANDBY.> the five Bits latch onto the axe blade, and begin to spin up rapidly. <STRIKER FLARE!> "NOW! HURRICANE THUNDER CLAP! OVERDRIVE!"

The girl sweeps the axe around behind her, lifts off the ground and launches forwards, trailing purple magic in her wake. She charges in without regard for her safety, and with a sweeping pirouette, aims to slam that axe blade into Lute's chest, where the built up magic explodes outwards like a shaped charge warhead.

Lute (188) has posed:
Lute sees this coming. She's powering up. It is obvious: A really powerful attack is coming in. If he does not time this, /just/ right, it could very well be the end of the battle for him. But, in this moment? He relishes the danger, he enjoys putting his life on the line. And so, he simply motions at her, for her to come at him.

His Unown fly to him, rapidly. Forming a barrier in front of him. A hexagonal grid of light appears in front of Lute, as the Unown move to protect him. They are not a perfect defense. If they don't hold, he will fall.

But, as the blast is held back by the shield, even briefly, he speaks. Calmly. Sadistically.

     "Fire Blast."

And then, Lute starts laughing like a madman again, holding his arms up high. His Arcanine steps forward, from Zephyr's side, glaring at her. His mouth opens. A ball of fire is forming within it. It is shot out, aimed at Zephyr.

A five-pointed symbol of flame appears, on impact. Hopefully, impacting against Zephyr herself.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr is about to growl out something, but she's blindsided by that blast of flame. It strikes her directly, blasting her clear across the Rookery, into one of the bunkers, where emergency teams are evacuating the non-combat staff.

They load the downed Elite into a transport, than then rockets away at high speed.

Lute (188) has posed:
And Lute just remains there. Laughing. Absolutely going mad. Even as he is bleeding out. He orders his Pokemon: Destroy remaining Union facilities here. And, he just stands there, enjoying the destruction.

Samar has been a bad influence on him.
