Synopsis: Kotone heads almost home to the West Coast of Canada, she gets some unexpected from the multiverse as she's looking out over the ocean.
Cast of Characters: Kotone Yamakawa, Staren, Ayako Hasekawa, 636

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
The West Coast of Canada got off lucky from the Third world war, there were no nuclear detonations in the region. Even if most if not all hot zones had been cleared up by now? The environment would still be in a period of recovery, thankfully things are much better the town near by is small but it's close enough to the major port of Vancouver that they get enough multiveral traffic that there's no real xenophobia the entire coast has lived and died for decades off tourism after all.

Kotone's moving along a board walk that's out on a stretch of highway there's a beach on one side, few homes on the other but after there there's nothing but thick trees that are huge, maybe not primal but nature has never really been paved over in this region and humans seem to fit in well enough here as it is.

Kotone leans on the railing and is just watching the sea for the moment. She may have left an open invitation to come by as well should anyone wish to. She just needed to clear her head after what happened with Mizuki and the horrors for Vault 3.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako sadly, gets lost easily. In places she's not too familiar with, she tends to take quite a while to find out where she is supposed to go. Luckily for her, she has her radio to help her out. Now, Ayako may not be so technologically inclined, but she is good enough to know how to get maps and directions! Following them might still be hard for her, though.

Which is pretty much why she hasn't met up with Kotone yet. All the same, Ayako's finally found her way to the boardwalk. She glances around for a moment... and then upon spotting Kotone smiles brightly. She stuffs her radio back into her little star-shaped purse and runs over to her. "Kotone! Found you!"

Staren has posed:
"This area is infested with alien bugs in my world." Staren walks up to the railing, having traded his labcoat for a simple blue jacket today to stand out less. He also appears human, thanks to Iianor's disguise spell. "There are some accounts of spooky islands to the west, but it's kind of a difficult area to get to." He looks out over the water for a moment, then back to Kotone. "So what did you call people here for today? ...Unless it'd be awkward to talk to me. I can go."

Ryu (636) has posed:
Ryan walks up to the gathering, his boots thumping against the boardwalk. He didn't have any trouble with directions. He seemed to be in a state of neutrality, looking around with only that vaguely sleepy look in his eyes.

When he reaches Staren, Ayako and Kotone, his brow furrows in silent thought for a few seconds. He reaches up to ruffle his own hair, and this prompts a question:

"I should stay in human form here, huh?" He looks over his shoulder. "Doesn't strike me as a world where people just accept magical creatures."

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa looks over to Ayako and grins widly at her friend.

"Good to see you, I thought you might like this area, this is the region I grew up in."

Well she was further up the coast in a more isolated area sure but this is the right way. She looks over to Staren for a moment.

"Sounds like you need to bug one of your space marine friends in the union to help clean house."

Even she gets space marines are the natural foe of the horrible alien space bug. She looks ove rto Ryi for a moment.

"People are starting to take to non human races due to how big on trade at least my nation is and a few others are. However ya you might spook some people or umm get stalked by some folks."

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako moves with a light skip to her step over to the railing, where she leans over it. "Aaahh... the sea!" She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. For someone that can't smell, she certainly likes the sea air. "So! Kotone, how are you doing? You look like you have a lot on your mind." Ayako folds her hands behind her back and leans forward slightly.

She turns towards Staren and the... sudden declaration of there being bugs here in his world. Ayako giggles softly. "Luckily, I don't think there are any alien bugs here. And hello Staren!" She then turns towards Ryan. "Hello Ryan! Yup. Probably a good idea. Also why I didn't come by broomstick!"

Staren has posed:
"Where you grew up, huh? How'd you end up in Japan?" Staren wonders. He shrugs at the comment about space marines. "Dealing with the Xiticix would be a major operation. We'd need quite a lot of troops and a plan." He looks over to Ryu. "Hello. A pony visited here once." He smiles and nods in greeting to Ayako too. "You have a flying broomstick?" he asks.

Ryu (636) has posed:
"A pony is a pony. I'm a dragon. Not the same thing. And... I don't really want the attention, either," Ryu tells Staren, glancing to Kotone when he references the attention being a dragon would give. He does NOT want to be followed by weirdos who watch too many fantasy movies. He smiles lightly at Ayako, her enthusiasm warming up his demeanor some.

He turns his head to look out at the ocean. He doesn't have much to contribute to their conversation, though he does linger nearby. He hums a little song to himself.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa figures Ayako can sense the water at the very least for a moment.

"Scholarship, a major tech school was offeirng some pretty juicey scholarships and it was pretty well known. Japan's got a huge population delcine and they are trying to lure back people of Japanese decent. Even a mutt like me, still I can't complain the school is cutting edge for this world."

she looks to Ayako for a moment.

"A water witch huh? I mean things are getting better there's been off world trade but people can still be jumpy."

She looks over to Ryu with a grins a little bit at Ryu.

"Humm if any of you are looking for food there's a chip wagon down by the restrooms just a bit to the south of us."

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako smiles at Staren and cups her hands in front of her body. Water pools in her cupped hands and then levitates into the air in the shape of a sphere. "Yes I do! Like so." The sphere of water changes shape quickly into a watery lump in the shape of a broom. In a few moments, color fades in to result in the broomstick that is often seen with Witch Ayako. "It's a fake, but it's a fake that means a lot to me." She grabs the floating broomstick out of the air with both hands and gives it a gentle hug. After the broom hug she offers it towards Staren to examine, if he wants to.

When Ryu starts humming, she slightly leans her head sideways in his direction. As if trying to discern the song and if she knows it.

She looks back to Kotone and giggles softly. "That's just a costume, though." Ayako does a little twirl. "Sometimes a witch, sometimes, a maid, but I'm always a water spirit!" She winks and then giggles brightly as if she did a joke of some sort.

Ryu (636) has posed:
The song Ryu was humming doesn't sound like anything particularly noteworthy. It's a little folksy and he's not great at humming it. He stops humming when Ayako seems to be listening in, prompting a quizzical look out of him in her direction.

When the chip wagon is mentioned, he just turns and walks in that direction wordlessly, resuming his little song.

Staren has posed:
Staren tilts his head slightly. "I see." At the explanation of why she went to Japan. At the offer of food, he shrugs. "This body can't eat, but thanks."

He gives the broom a curious look over. "Means a lot...?" he mutters. Feels there's a story there... After handing it back, he reaches into his bag and pulls out his own broom. "This was a gift from a goddess. I used it all the time, before I got my wings. It's still easier to use for longer trips." He offers it for Ayako to examine in turn, then turns back to Kotone.

"Speaking of alien dangers..." he reaches into his bag and pulls out some magazines that look compatible with XCOM's battle rifles, but incorporating clear crystals in their design. "These are in case the Collective ever comes after you again -- they should have similar properties to their weapons, and to the weapons I'm going to be making for use against Behemoth, although less powerful. As such, they should be more effective than most weapons at penetrating their defenses." He holds them out for Kotone to take.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa Says "I see, you'd like it here it rains a lot in the winter a whole heck of a lot actually and huh I see a maid and a witch too. You are turly multi talanted."

She looks over ot Ryu at the mention of th Wagon he's find a young man working behind the wagon's counter. He looks to him for a moment.

"Hey how can I help you?"

The menus has burgers hot dogs, fries and a hell of a lot of sea food, fish and chips, fish tacos that sort of thing.

STaren is looked to for a moment. She wonders abbout the broom too, but doesn't pry not today.

"Humm I see I'll make sure to put these things to use though I suspect Shen would love to get a look at some of these rounds sometime."

"Still, Ayako? Your more human than some actual humans I know."

Staren has posed:
Staren blinks. "I'm pretty sure XCOM won't be able to duplicate them. They're protoabstractums. Otherwise I'd have already offered them to them." he states flatly.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako cheerfully accepts her broom back and collapses it. It didn't look collapsable, but... well, that's just one of the advantages of making something out of her own substance. She hangs it on her little star-shaped purse and smiles brightly. "Un! It's a replica of the broom I got as a gift from an MMORPG I used to play a long time ago." She carefully examines the broom that Staren pulls out. "Oohh..." After a moment of looking it over, she hands it back to Staren. "I wouldn't expect you to have something like this, Staren. It also kind of clashes with your image a bit!" She giggles brightly at that.

Ayako inclines her head in the other direction as Ryu gives her that look. "Hmm? Oh no. I was just wondering what you were humming." She giggles softly and then curiously watches him walk off towards the chip wagon. She doesn't eat so...

Ayako looks back towards the sea and sighs softly in content. And then blushes lightly when Kotone says she's multi-talented. "A-ha ha... thank you, Kotone. Although for me... it's just a need to be helpful and useful." She smiles softly and then blushes a bit more deeper. "Hah? Am... am I?" Her amber eyes move skywards as she thinks. "Hmm... I... well... for me... that's... quite the compliment that." It takes her a moment to stutter and speak all of that out. "Being able to act human." She just smiles softly.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa ahs at Staren. "All right then I was just thinking." She looks at ayako for a moment and she wonders about tbe broom and what mmorpg it was. She waches as Ryu goes off to go get some food. "Humm it was a interesting little bit I admit."

Kotone only eats mostly for habit and sanity these days. Save for the actual cyborg food she needs.

"True, still you seem quite compaaionate to be honest. Some people in this world forget what empathy is."

Staren has posed:
"Compassion is caring about other people. Empathy is knowing how other people feel. They are not the same thing." Staren states. He turns to Ayako. "Your behavior never struck me as particularly inhuman, but I haven't really been watching or analyzing you or anything looking for signs..."

Ryu (636) has posed:
Pretty soon, Ryan has returned with a hotdog and a large soda, and he is just merrily chewing away. He looks between Staren and Kotone silently as they speak. There's a pause where he swallows his food, visibly considers adding to the conversation...

Then just takes another bite of the hotdog. Chew chew. He doesn't seem to be a philosophical type.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa thinks about that for a moment and leans back now she's lost in thought she does however give Ryu a grin on her face.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako reaches up with her hands and covers her cheeks with her palms and fingers. "Kyaa... you two know just what to say to a water spirit trying to pass as a human." She blinks her eyes slowly and then giggles softly. "Mmm... well... I don't know about compassion. I merely wish to help ease people's pain and discomfort. To keep them from... well... you probably get the idea." A soft smile crosses her face as she lowers her hands and arms back down to her sides. "As for empathy... all I really have are emotions that I try to assign properly to the ones humans have. I... well... I make mistakes sometimes." She raises a palm to her cheek, sighs softly and shakes her head.

She does take a moment to watch Ryu chew, though! Food and taste is still super foreign to Ayako, after all!

Ryu (636) has posed:
Ryu turns his head to look at Ayako. The watchful gaze is met with more confusion. "Wha'?" he inquires, around a bite of hotdog. He resumes chewing, and sucks down some soda, while looking back over to Kotone. He smiles in her direction. "Sorry, not a big talker, usually," he tells them. "Don't mind me."

Staren has posed:
Staren shrugs. "That sounds like compassion to me. I can't speak to whether your emotions feel the same, though." he looks at the broom in his hand. "I collect all sorts of things... I wonder why you think I wouldn't have this?" He puts it away in his bag, though. It is clearly too big to fit, but it disappears inside anyway.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako giggles softly at Ryu's 'Wha'?'. "No no, it's nothing Ryan. I just find eating and taste to be interesting, that's all." The soda gets eyed for a moment. Yeah. Soda isn't something that agrees with Ayako usually. "Nothing wrong with listening more than talking. I should probably do that more myself." She balls her hand into a fist and gently knocks her head with it once. "Eh heh."

She looks back at Staren and then nods her head once. "It's because it clashes with your sciency image!" Yes. Sciency. Ayako nods her head quickly three times. "Un. Un. Un." One 'Un.' for each nod. "I mean... if I was dressed like a police officer and chasing after someone with a wire whisk it would look strange right?"

Staren has posed:
Staren shrugs again. "Science is about figuring out what works, however it looks." Then he smiles. "Well, I don't know. As a police officer, I expect you'd be chasing bad eggs, so what else would you use?"

He smiles wider. "More seriously, it would be silly because a wire whisk isn't a terribly effective weapon. However, if a flying broom is an effective flight device, why not use it?" He suddenly stares off into space for a moment. "...I'd love to talk more later, but I need to get going. Good seeing you." He nods to each person here in turn, finally turning to Kotone. "I mostly came to drop the special bullets off and see if you had any immediate problems that needed solving. Um..." He scratches the back of his neck, "I guess I'll see you around?"

once goodbyes are exchanged, he heads back from whence he came.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako giggles brightly at the 'chasing bad eggs' joke. "That's true, that's true. Oh. See you later, Staren!" She waves goodbye cheerfully to him and then looks back at Kotone and Ryu.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "I'm trying to be honest how I see it. Ya I think I get it, and fair enough. Your a whole other form of life, right?"

She seems to be fine with this she also lkook to Ryu nodding a little bit she gets that, right? Some people just might like to be around others.

"No problems that fall into your area of skill honestly."

She looks back to Ayako.

"I'm glad Mizuki seems to be recovering well enough and I still need to catch Psyber later..."

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako blushes lightly again. "Un! I appreciate the honesty too! I'm a water spirit, after all." She thinks to herself for a while, tapping a pointer finger on her cheek. "The best way I've found to explain it... is that instead of a girl that can control water, you should think of me as water that can change itself into a girl." She smiles softly and nods her head once. A slow wink is given. "There's a difference, after all."

Ayako then nods her head quickly. "Un un. I should go visit Mizuki's world again and check in on everyone there."

Ryu (636) has posed:
"Like me not being a human that turns into a dragon, but the other way around. You're the water trying to pretend to be a girl, and you can't always get the act just right."

Ryan speaks up in-between sips, reminding the two that he is, in fact, still standing there, casually observing. The way he said that, it's like his transformation had more effect on him than he really lets on to the people around him. He still smiles, though. "Don't think there's any water spirits back home that aren't feral creatures."

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "I guess your right, and we should. I'm wondering how Sheep's doing myself. I have to ask you ever tried pranking someone by hiding in a water gun?"

She looks slightly mischivous at this and then humms looks over at Ryu for a moment tilting her head a bit.

"If there are any spirits here they ... are very hands off, and I mean very hands off so far as I know there's no magic here either."

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako nods her head quickly and smiles brightly at Ryu. "Yes, that that, Ryan! I try hard, though. And I've watched humans for long enough that I think I act correctly most of the time." She giggles softly. "Oh. Well, I was pretty feral myself when I was young."

She turns back towards Kotone and inclines her head to the side gently. "Huh?" Ayako blinks her eyes quickly. "Hiding in a water gun? I don't think I've done that before."

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa grins at Ayako and seems to have a plan. "Then I have an idea of something we can do to Riva later. She will never /see/ it coming."

She seems to be in a good mood thinking about this and then thinks for a moment.

"In a way all very young children are, somewhat Feral, my little cousins on either side of the family or my own 'siblings'."

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako blinks her eyes slowly. "Hmmm?" Her head inclines to the side slightly. "An idea, huh?" She just smiles softly... and then giggles when Kotone calls her little cousins 'feral'.
