Pay Up Or Ship Out
Date of Scene: 17 June 2015
Location: Slum Urbania
Synopsis: A exile needs to pay up, but things go quickly wrong for them both.
Cast of Characters: 132, 695, Duke, Gaonoir, 810

Duke has posed:
The Slum of Urbania is not a pretty place, but it is home for some. Yet on this day, such a home was under questioning as a rather fat red frog like humanoid comes running around the ally yelling loudly, "Help me!" He crocks out, one of the trumpets on his shoulder was still intact the other---

---It gets cut clean off in front of several people, as a black Dinosaur like humanoid with samurai like armor and two swords, points one of the blades to his throat. Red eyes stare down the frog, as the white mohawk hair blows gently in the breeze that passes by. "You forgot to pay." The Dino-man says with a cold sound in his voice. "You know what happens when you don't pay..."

The Trumpet that was cut is sparking with a blue glow from the data damage. Its painful, that is obvious on the Toad man's face as he tries to scoot back. "You're crazy and you are asking to much! That is impossible in these kind of conditions!"

The Samurai steps forward with sword still pointed. "There is no impossibility! You know the rules!"

However there is a sound of several clicking as weapons are loaded from the near by cops that quickly move on the scene. The Dino-Man Digimon slowly looks over his shoulder with his red eye glaring at the officers. "If you /humans/ value your /lives/ I'd suggest you /leave/. This is Digimon business."

"And you are scaring the populace." Another voice rose from the crowds as the Armored Figure become clear to see walking past everyone with his Halberd pointed directly at the Samurai. "Put away your sword and leave."

"What do you think you are?" The Dino-Man asked with a sneer in his voice, "A royal knight?!" Then there was a pause as he stared at the Knight Digimon, "Your eyes..." Though as soon as the frog tried to make a move, the sword slammed down to stop him. "I know those eyes..."

Sadly the cops now seem confused at who to be more worried about and it doesn't take long for people to start taking pictures, cameras to catch the footage and underground news people to start making the reports. Things were going down in the slums and it was about to get crazy!

Gaonoir has posed:
Day or night, dark or light, the ragged remains of the city that served as it's slummy underbelly was never short on shadows. They hug beneath windows like bags under eyes, a constant reminder of how sleepless many of it's occupants were, yet so seemingly hapless in making better for themselves. But that's all they were. Atmosphere. Accent. Static.

... Or were they? ...

Occasionally an old streetlight flickers, possibly due to bad or cheap wiring in the squaller.

Short fits of static crackle across the cops' radios and CB transmissions, most of them just chalk it up to the distance from the main precinct towers that they are.

About the only thing the shadows weren't tonight ... was lifeless ...

Beelzebumon (132) has posed:
Oh boy oh boy oh boy! :D

Positively giddy at the prospect of Duke finally crawling out of his little Emo Pit to do some proper heroics, Beelzebumon hurries towards the impending conflict, tearing through the busy streets without a thought of concern towards the other drivers on the road. Hell if he knows what he's gonna do when he actually GETS there, mind you, but he's never been the sort to operate by any kind of plan beyond 'do whatever the hell I feel like at the time'.

As long as he gets to have fun, he frankly doesn't care.

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran finds it easy to slink through the Slums of Urbania in his Dorumon form, having come through here for scavenging many times in the past. Shortcuts, which structures can hold his form as he bounces from rooftop to fence-ridge, and what the shortest route between two points even is around here.

He can feel that static-y buzz in the Digital Interface between his eyes, too. It's faint, but it's there -- which means Duke might be getting more trouble than originally intended!

Duke has posed:
The Armored Digimon; The Medieval Dukemon holds his ground. All three of them hold their ground. The Samuari Dino-Man narrows his eyes as he speaks, "You have the form of a Medieval Dukemon... but your eyes speak other wise." Then there was a dark chuckle. "Have you fallen with us? The terror who pierced so many cores in the name of a god who never has loved his children..."

The Frog tries to go in another direction only to find the blade slamming down on the other side. he Frog looks at the Gaioumon, then back to the subspecies of a Dukemon, then back again. "Help me!" he crocks out again. "He is mad! Crazy!"

"Shut Up!" The Gaioumon roars out, before as his sword swings around it suddenly meets the lance as the Medieval Dukemon moves in quickly. The two weapons quickly locked and with the flickering of lights, Duke only gives it a momentary glance. He can hear the sound of a familiar motor cycle as well and even as the police radio's go a bit crazy.

Duke then shoves the Samuari back, before he looks to the Tonosama Gekomon, "Run." Then motions to the cops. "Get the people out of here! Go! This is no place for non-elites!" The cops thankfully do not argue and Duke readies his weapon once more.

The Gaioumon steps back and can only laugh gently. "You do not deny it? The Royal Knight who was a Virus Attribute, who denied the will of his kind. Who denied the combat path-- but in the end you fell to it, didn't you?" The two swords rotated in his hands. "And you killed /her/-- which I should be grateful for, given I now have control."

"I didn't kill her." Duke says calmly, "But if you don't leave your going to be in far more danger then you want to be in."

"You let him get away, Knight." The Samuari points his blade at him. "It is you who will be in trouble!"

Meanwhile...
The frog man quickly, as quickly as one can runs up the street before he leans on a wall, panting a bit. "Damn... idiot... he may be crazier then she..." He looks up to see the bike coming, "Demon Lord!!" And he starts to /run/ back the way he came frantically

Gaonoir has posed:
The familiar sound of Behemoth's engine is not lost on concealed ears. Funny how certain individuals, despite their supposed differences and own contentions, seem to end up in the same place.

A growl was bitten back at the blasthemy spoken of Yggdrasil, kept to itself save the fit of static it causes in the radios again. Patience now, Gaioumon will be dealt with in due time...

As Tonosama Gekomon turns and tries to run from the approaching engine, a pair of clawed tendrils erupt from the alley he's passing. One grabs his remaining trumpet while the other tries to wrap around his mouth to silence him, and drag the frog-man back into the shadows they seemed to have sprouted from.

No need to pass on the oppritunity while it's presented to him and the other two are busy with each other...

Beelzebumon (132) has posed:
"OUT OF THE WAY FATASS!" yells Beelzebumon and he and Behemoth tear right past Tonosama Gekomon without stopping, caring little for the wounded frog. So little is his concern that he doesn't even spare a glance back, and thus doesn't see Gaonoir snatch the panicked amphibian into the alleyway.

Good thing for Gao though, as Beelzebumon still owes him a beating for last time.

Then as Beelz rounds the corner, he goes into a sideways skid and screeches Behemoth's tires before coming to a stop directly between Duke and Gaioumon, before rather cheerfully giving Duke a wave, "Heya Lizardface. Getting into trouble again I see." Then he turns to Gaioumon and grins, "I believe this is the part where you yell out 'Demon Lord!' with all the hatred you can muster and threaten to kill me, right?"

Yes, Beelzebumon is getting so accustomed to Digimon from his own world reacting... badly in his presence the first time he pops up.

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran is much slower than the others, but the conversation carries well enough when the poor cops and civilians have cleared out of the area. A Digimon conflict has a track record of being relatively destructive, and nobody wants to get caught in that!

He lands on the pavement as Beelzebumon roars past the Tonosama Gekomon, just in time to see the shadowy tentacles grab the red frog. "HEY!" He barks sharply as he charges, ignoring the sudden spike of static-laced pain in his forehead. "Leggo!" He even opens his jaw to bite at the shadowy tentacles, if he can get close enough!

Duke has posed:
The Tonosama Gekomon tries to run, until the shadows grab a hold of him, "What? No! HELP!" He yells out, before he starts to get pulled in...

Duke hears the cry for help which distracts him, "Hm?" Which is about when Gaioumon goes to strike, only for Beelzebumon to come in the middle. "Beelzebumon?" the Dino-man says. There didn't seem to be any running or screaming only surprise. "But all of you scattered... how...?"

The Knight Digimon did step back a few feet when Beelzebumon showed up. His halberd held tightly. "Hey beer breath." He retorts in kind. "I think this chump may have been one of yours."

"Chump?!" The Gaioumon responds before laughing. "I was a Nightmare Solider and I know what you have done, Knight. I think you did a better job then some of us!"

Duke only can narrow his eyes. "Beelzebumon... if he was one of yours... and he is still under your command. Silence him before /I/ do." His gold eyes then look directly at the Demon Lord. There was a serious look in them. "Or will you side with him and I'll have to deal with you both?"

"Why are you asking him, Knight? Allow me to answer that for you!" The Gaioumon jumps back and then flips up before using the swords like a bow. Electrical energy gathers around as it creates an arrow which he draws back, "Rinkageki!!" He yells out before the arrow fires directly for Duke...

Victory (810) has posed:
            A NEW CHALLENGER HAS APPEARED

There is something you learn after wandering the multiverse for a while. You hear things, see things, and notice all the subtle clues that can lead you to a place you need to be. Sirens in the distance, panic in the voice of civilians, the distressed voice of a victim still needing to be rescued... Honestly, could no one in this massive multiverse ever help themselves? Well no, of course not, if the answer was yes then people like her wouldn't be able to make a dime, would they?

Zeroing in on all of the clues mentioned before, something new to the digimon collected below stirs, not behind, or below, but above. All of the things that walked on the Earth never seemed to look up when going into a battle, and it was something she took advantage of with every opportunity that presented itself. Even now, seeing so many other digimon for the first time, in the same place, she hesitated with the thought of 'dropping in' to say hello. She especially didn't want to do this thing for -free-, but there was at least one among the many that she recognized. Knight, Ex-Knight, lackey, or otherwise, there was at least one thing she could hold in common with any of them. A hate for any of the Demon Lords that caused such a massive upheaval so many years prior. "I hate doing things pro bono," is all that's muttered stories above before an armored white form steps to a ledge, heaves a breath, then comes sailing down to land just enough behind the group that they'd feel the tremor and probably have a look her way.

What's there is.. but isn't quite, some sort of WarGrey. No massive claws, different armor, different hide, and a sword at it's back that was definitely not typical of the type already mentioned. No, this one was different. Very Different. Amber eyes take in each and every one of the others present before a hand reaches up, settles on the hilt of that sword, but doesn't draw it just yet. "Beel. You have one chance to leave. Take it."

Beelzebumon (132) has posed:
Beelzebumon blinks, then squints hard as he looks at Gaioumon, "Heeeey, I think I recognize you. You're one of Daemon's flunkies? Or was it Lilithmon's? Fuck if I can remember which one of the Lords you chumps worked for during the war."

Then calmly Beelzebumon dismounts from Behemoth, then turns to Duke and shrugs, "Hey, don't look at me. I didn't command troops back during the war, remember? Couldn't be assed to bother when I could be out there fighting myself, so if you wanna kill him, knock yourself out, I won't stop you."

Then even as Gaioumon leaps into action, Beelzebumon just calmly pops open a compartment on Behemoth and pulls out a can of beer and cracks it open, before taking a swig.

Before he has a chance to drink more than a mouthful though, a new arrival appears, leaping from the rooftops to land nearby. With a quirked brow, the Demon Lord peers at the oddly armored Wargreymon, "Huh, Digimon just crawling out of the woodworks today. Do I know you?"

Gaonoir has posed:
Can you even strangle a digimon to death? Fortunately for Tonosama Gekomon he doesn't have to find out personally just yet as Doran chomps his teeth down on the tendril trying to wrap around the frog-man's neck. The clawed lengths jerk away in a moment of pain, though the sudden release may send froggy fat face first into the pavement as they whip free of him and out of Doran's jaws. Though instead of trying to strike the new assailant they just recoil into the shadows and disappear. One almost wonders if he had been there at all, or if it had just been another manifestation of his shadow tricks.

Stree lights flicker again, and this time so do the headlights of police cruisers that had been left as a blockade of sorts to protect them clearing civilians off the streets. The staticing over radios intensifies, probably given Doran more of a migrane again.

Somewhere a homeless drunk's old boombox hisses and sparks, coming to life despite not having had working batteries in it for several years. Somehow it starts to play something techno sounding, yet deep and ominous at the same time.

o/~ I can smell your fear; so far away from the chaos here
I can see your life counting down.. and down.. and down... o/~

Shadows consolidate like some sort of viscous puddle of dark upon the street. The two tendrils lash out of it, one still bearing teeth marks as they dig into the street and seem to almost pull the rest of the form out of the blackness like it was a hole.

o/~ Here I am to play; a quick sick game to ruin your useless days
As I wear my cursed crown.

I'm Justice served, what you deserve; You've been selected and it's Judgement Day o/~

Glowing eyes and grinning fangs are the first to form like the Cheshire Cat in reverse, the rest of the wolf-bear's hulking form solidifying behind him. The grind doesn't fade from the black colored Gaogamon's expression, if anything it only widens at the visible number, including the newest arrival into the mix.

o/~ I've called your name, come and play my game
It's time for chaos to take it's place
You scream and cry, you tell your lies
And say you don't deserve this! o/~

Abruptly a massive paw slams down on a cop car to flip it up, only for the other wind up as Gaonoir rears back and then PUNCH it towards the other gathered digimon around Gaioumon!

o/~ But I'm a time bomb (TIME BOMB) with just one purpose

... Under the Surface ... o/~

Doran (695) has posed:
For all his jaw strength, Doran couldn't hang on as the shadow tentacles whip free and recoil into the shadows. The force was enough to send the Child-level Digimon spinning in midair for a moment before he lands heavily on his feet -- which almost skate out from under him from the force. He still manages to avoid landing on his stomach and cracking his chin on the pavement, though.

The Dorumon looks over at the Tonosama Gekomon and opens his mouth to ask if he was alright, but a new lancing pain stabs through his Digital Interface as a wave of static washes out his senses. He snarls as he scratches at his forehead, trying to alleviate all of this interference, but the music is actually what resharpens his focus.

Gaonoir is not done.

He casts a look at the red frog-Mon, though his concern is quite clearly on the shadow-dog-bear instead. "Get outta here! RUN!" His mind is racing, trying to focus despite the interference and distractions. Take the wrong form, and every single Digimon here will gang up on him instead!

Duke has posed:
Duke cuts a glance to Beelzebumon. "Oh right. You were the lazy one." It was hard to say if he was being serious or teasing. "Lack of memory still-- remember?" He adds, just in time to see the other Digimon wind up his attack and fire the bolt of energy.

He Deflects the strike with a spin of the Halberd, but it was enough energy to cause him to slide back. Which is about the time /another/ Digimon shows up. "I have to agree with Beelzebumon. This is getting crowded and the more crowded it gets..."

Gaioumon starts to charge in once more. leaping past Victory who is challenging Beelzebumon. The blades starting to glow as he swings them, creating a streak in the air that lasts, before coming around with another one. The slashes forcing Duke to go on defensive and duck under the stream of light that almost cuts a flick of his hair.

Though in this dance, Duke can see that the Gekomon has gotten away, seeing him running down another alley. Good. However he was not able to finish his statement cause the radio suddenly comes to life and Duke has to forcefully block and shove back the Gaioumon, taking a risk of getting cut. "Stop! You are all in---"

Then comes the massive force. The former Royal Knight looks that way, "--..danger." What Duke feared. A large crowd like this. It was a calling card. He watches the cop car come right at him. He suddenly slams the Gaioumon out of the way, drops his Halberd and places out his hands.

The vehicle slams into his hands, shoves him back and smashes into the wall...
This actually stuns the Gaioumon for a moment as he goes to stand back up. "What the..." His red eyes look to the shadowy figure, then to the Mercenary, "We have bigger problems then disputes, Merc! I'll pay you handsomely to deal with that creep!" He yells over pointing at Gaonoir.

Victory (810) has posed:
So it was either take a swing at a tied and true demonlord who probably had the kind of weapons to do some serious damage to her armor, or to take a swing at Gaonoir over there who probably didn't and was certainly within the realm of going after for some cash. Let her think about it for a moment.

        Beat.

Yeah, screw trying to take a swing at Beel, then. Without another second of hesitation, the white-scaled Greymon-Off Type (JUST WHAT IS SHE ANYWAY?) charges for Gaonoir, looking to violently introduce them to the blade at her back. . . In a second. Let us gauge the target! How? Punch. Like a Captain of Falcons. .. What she heard it on TV somewhere!

Beelzebumon (132) has posed:
Beelzebumon still hasn't gotten an answer to his question... though the FLYING POLICE CAR might have something to do with that.

As the vehicle comes flying in, Beelz makes a sudden dive out of the way, and in doing so, he spills his can of beer! Oh no! Landing hard from the dive, he watches in horror as his booze splashes all over the ground. Then he looks up at Gaonoir.

     Oh, it is on.

"Alright dogbreath..." He flips back onto his feet and cracks his knuckles, "Looks like I'm going to have to feed you your own teeth now."

Then he grabs the door of a nearby vehicle and tears it off with a yank, before sending the door hurling towards Gaonoir.

The fact that Victory is in the way and may get hit doesn't concern him... because as we all know, Beelzebumon is an Asshole.

Gaonoir has posed:
A grating throaty chuckle emits from the Beast of Shadows as Duke takes intervention for the samurai-dino and gets put between a car and a hard place for the trouble. "You will throw yourself down for -any-one these days, won't you? It's like all the little cast-off bits of data have gathered in one place, just waiting to be plucked apa--rrh?"

Both his advance and his retort are brought short when Beelzebumon tears off a door and flings it at him, rending the metal structure against his shoulder. Followed by the OTHER other armored dino-knight rushing him at the potential promise of a profit. The fist is caught in the palms of gloved forepaws, though it's still with enough power that pavement under his back paws cracks and concaves inward from the force sent through his body as he digs in for track as he's shoved back... though considering even a generic strike like that should of bowled over any -normal- Adult digimon...

But we've already seen how Gaonoir is hardly a normal -anything- of whatever stage he is in.

"Well, look who else is here." There's actually a hint of familiarity in the smarm as Gaonoir uses is own grip to pull Victory closer, and look her in the eyes for a moment. Then bare his fangs in a grin again.

"Nothing personal, Viccy. But you did just attack me first."

The wolf-bear drops her first, only to go for grabbing onto Victory fully with a flurry of shadowy movement, and despite the difference between them, pick the other digimon up with a twist and slam her into the pavement again. "SOMBRA DRIVER!"

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran shouldn't risk it. He /can't/, he /won't/. As everyone's attention shifts from the initial conflict of Duke vs. Gaioumon into Gaonoir vs. EVERYONE, the purple fuzzy wolf-raptor is gone. Using every trick he can think of this side of parkour, he bounds from fence to building to roof, trying to get a solid vantage point.

He doesn't have the power in this form to assist, and the interference is still screwing with his ability to focus. He's at best a liability and at worst a distraction, and that'll only get worse if he Digivolves in his current state. He'll just have to bear the interference and leave the fighting to the Ultimates.

Duke has posed:
While everyone is distracted by Gaonoir, the black Dino-Man turns to look as Duke shoves the police car away from him. There was a cant of his head gently. "I could kill you now, Knight... but I'll leave that for later. I have a frog to catch."

Before Duke can even stop the other Digimon he was already gone in a swift motion of movement. This leaves the Knight Digimon to roar out in anger before he slams the vehicle away from her further. "GAONOIR!" Duke roars out, before energy starts to charge around him. "You and no other whom serves Yggdrasil is welcomed here!"

He places out his hand as Digi-Code starts to appear, creating a pattern like a circular spiral, his other hand extends behind him as the same pattern appears under his feet. His gold eyes start to become blue in color as he draws on power from within his Core. Electronics around him start to go haywire. lights flicker in an almost 0-1 pattern. Dead electronics come to life, sounding almost like modems.

The Medieval Dukemon was preparing his Ultimate Attack...

Victory (810) has posed:
Opponent gauged. MORE THAN THEY APPEAR TO BE. Liften and put down to the pavement causes a surprised cough as the air rushes out of her, "Well... then..." At least she managed to avoid the door that Beel threw. Cause, you know, he's a dick and all that.

Right. So. No more Ms. Nicemon. When Vic is back on her feet, the Dramon Breaker gets tugged off of her back. Despite it's size, she seems to be moving it about with one arm with no issue. Seeing as she sets both hands to it? Well, that could be an issue, "Right. I don't care why you recognize me, to be honest, just hold still, alright?" She knows full well he probably won't. It's why when she lashes out, it's not just a single strike, but a shockingly fast flurry of swipes.

Gaonoir has posed:
Did he bite off more than he can chew? Maybe a little. He was definately not in the right form to properly deal with the big ol' sword the newcomer pulls out. "Still got your pretty little toy too, I see." This form really wasn't made for it by Gaonoir does the best he can to backstep, jerking aside when he can and shielding his head with his forelimbs when he can't.

Numerous slashes are made in said limbs... But instead of the standard sputter of digital bits the wounds only show a murky blackness in place of the usual digital gridframe underneath.

The charging energy and the disruption it causes in the electronics around them doesn't go unnoticed behind him, either. "As if the welcome of your rusted chivaltry matters anymore," he does retort over his shoulder.

Victory and her huge blade kind of take precedence though.

The final strike of the flurry connects, a shadowy rupture bursting from Gaonoir's form in a way that makes it look like it could be a critical blow. Except for instead of an explosion of corrupt data the beast seems to just collapse in on itself, the lesser electronic disruption lost beneath that of Duke's charging attack as a much smaller form dives between Victory's legs.

Gaonoir rolls up into a crouch, having devolved into his lesser form as part of the evasive maneuver. Easier to shed the damaged energy than risk being ripped asunder of it. And his move had put Victory between him and Duke.

Though the wounds are still visible along his stout arms, even as he lifts one gloved paw to mimic blowing a parting kiss at Victory. "Sorry Viccy, we'll have to catch up another time."

Besides, this form was smaller and quicker. Much better for making a tactical withdrawl. Which is exactly what he does.

Duke has posed:
"Get out of the way!" Duke roars to Victory! Why? Just because Gaonoir is running-- he isn't going to stop. The two start to spin up as the one under him comes around his form before he draws it to his other hand, "FINAAAALL!!!"

For a moment if one was to look, they see his form becoming like static. A image of another Digimon try to break from as if a mid shift, but not complete. The power which he draws on to perform this attack is all the same. The only difference is...

...One is shield....
...The other is a Magic spell rune.

"CRESTTT!!" With he final words, he slams the two seals together which form as one large one, then with a shove forward of his palms. The rune crest explodes with energy of bright light that tears through the area, all heading right for where Gaonoir is running!

Though once the attack is over, Duke is heaving a bit, before his eyes close and he collapses down to one knee. His form becoming like static for a bit, only for a few short seconds before everything seems to settle down. "We need to find... that other... Digimon..." He whispers out in slight exhaustion.

Victory (810) has posed:
A single glance toward Duke is all Victory needed to realize something 'Big' was about to happen. She -was- ready to haul back and actually throw the Dramon Breaker at Gaonoir, but, well, that guy over there had something a lot stronger to send the shadow-pup's way. She dives out of the way, landing on her chest, squinting back at Duke as the attack is made. Something about that seemed really familiar..

Gaonoir has posed:
Gaonoir vaults onto one of the abandoned cars just as the massive blast hits. And that's a really big explosion. Nope, the cops aren't getting that cruiser back, that's for certain. Not when it's raining back to the ground in little smoldering bits of alloy and polymer.

There is no way he could of avoided that attack entirely... Yet like a proper bad guy Gaonoir has managed to somehow slip away in middle of the explosive fireball of death. Not unscathed, but he's certainly gone.

For now, at least.

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran was hiding out for the moment, waiting for the painful interference to go away. His golden eyes, however, remain pinned on Gaonoir as the shadow puppy makes his escape, Final Crest or not. He still doesn't budge until his migrane fades to a dull ache and the static goes away, and even then he looks rather out of it.

Someday, he's going to figure out /why/ he reacts to Gaonoir's presence like that.

He shoots Duke a quizzical look for a moment, then his eyes widen as clarity settles in. /Just why were they there to begin with/? "Oh no!" He pauses for just a moment to sniff the air, then runs off after the Tonosama Gekomon's scent.

Duke has posed:
Doran would move quickly but it he would find the Gaioumon was already gone and the Tonosama Gekomon huddled in the corner. There was sword marks all around him, he even had a few cuts. But it seems the black Samurai Digimon got what he wanted.

The Tonosama Gekomon could only look up at Doran as he shows up. "You-- you should leave! Before they come after you too... Go! Shoo!" Just what was going on here?

Though Victory would soon see several normal Gekomon coming out and they are starting to move things. Different types of equipment actually. Though one walks up to her and with its head bowed. It seems to hand her a envelope-- inside-- a great deal of money, before it runs off.

Duke can only slowly stand to his feet as he witnesses the odd event. "You still going to accept that?" He asks her, seeming to get his sense about him. Though he was tired-- there was no doubt about that.

Victory (810) has posed:
Why is that even a question? The envelope is taken, open, counted, and tucked away before she ever turns to look back at Duke again. Of course, that all happens after she gets up from diving out of the way of Duke's attack. "Gotta eat," she muses first, shouldering the Breaker as she gives Duke another looking over. "Rather take Beel's head off but I can't exactly do that now, now can I?" Shrug. "Been wandering around this place too long, working for 'the greater good' doesn't get you the things you need to keep going."%

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran finds the Tonosama Gekomon easily enough, but blinks when he gets shooed at like a common animal. His ears twitch as his eyes constrict, his wings fluttering for a moment, then he turns tail and flees without another word.

Just what is going /on/ around here, anyways?

He makes his way back over to Duke and Victory, his fox-like tail swaying uneasily. "Gaonoir didn't get anyone this time," he reports, still looking around suspiciously even though the static is fully gone by now. He focuses on Victory in particular, his head canting to one side as he studies her. "You're new."

Duke has posed:
The Knight-mon tilts his head faintly. "It doesn't?" He then looks away. "If that is how you feel." He then starts to walk away before he looks over his shoulder. "You--- look familiar... but I am not sure why." He glances her up and down before he turns to extend his hand to her, "I'm Duke... hopefully if our paths cross again, they will remain on good terms."

"Maybe... if you need a place to stay, I can hook you up with someone I know. She has a ton of room to spare, I'm sure she wont mind." His gold eyes then seem amused. "Maybe you could come with me-- heading that way really."

Though his attention go to back to the Gekomon on the move. "As I doubt they will be telling us what that was all about..."

Duke then looks to Doran, "Doran." He says calmly. "Sorry I haven't been around..."

Victory (810) has posed:
The Breaker is fully put away against Victory's back before she glances Doran's direction, "Relatively. I"ve been wandering around the Multiverse for years. If I'm new, it is only because we haven't met," she notes. "Glad to finally run into digimon that aren't complete morons, though," Ran into others? Sure. Where they of any use at all? No not really. Not until today, at least.

When Duke starts to speak, "No, it doesn't," she responds to the first part, tone cold. It's clear she's Seen Things around the multiverse. "Mm, well that one knew my name, so, I think my days from the old world are being remembered," she muses. The introduction gets a brow to quirk. Could -- .. no. Nah. Just a coincidence. "Victory," she introduces. "As far as I know, the only Victory Greymon that the old world even had. I imagine that's why some have recognized me." The offer is considered, she shrugs at it. "I signed up with the Syndicate, but other options are always worth considering." Very calculating, this one, it seems.

Doran (695) has posed:
Doran grins up at Duke. "You've had a lot to think about lately, and you don't need me hovering over you like a Nursery Village elder anymore. I figured you'd be back around eventually."

To Victory, his eyes narrow briefly in thought as he nods. "Victory... I'll remember that." He seems to recall a VictoryGreymon in the Royal Knights' forces, but it has been a long time indeed. He taps his own chest with a short forepaw. "I'm Doran, a Dorumon. Nice to meet you!"

The momentary discussion on Alexis' ranch get a shrug out of the Child-level Digimon. "Well, if you're in the area, feel free to visit sometime!" He rubs at his Digital Interface with a grimace as the lingering ache pings him between the eyes. "I'm gonna go on ahead, Duke. Gaonoir's tricks messed with my code again."

Duke has posed:
Duke gives a nod. "I'll be right behind you, Doran." His gold eyes then look to Victory. "Alexis is her name. She is an amazing human woman. I'm sure she can give you a space if you ever need one." Duke then waves his hand. "Till then though, Victory. Be safe and if you ever need aid-- feel free to contact me!"
