Synopsis: Sarracenia shows off her new dress to Lute.
Cast of Characters: 188, Sarracenia

Lute (188) has posed:
It's a rather beautiful day at the beach, the sun currently setting upon the ocean. A brilliant orange light covers the landscape, and the ocean shimmers beautifully. Lute himself stands on the second floor balcony of the beachhouse. The front door to the beachhouse is open, as is the balcony's sliding door. He smiles towards the ocean, relaxing and enjoying the view. He's wearing his standard beachwear. His labcoat, which is waterproofed. And, a black speedo. He can pull the look off somewhat, but no one can make a speedo look completely good.

He looks back on occasion, waiting for any little sound. He knows Sarracenia will be here soon, and he expects her to come in through the front door. Still, his eyes look out to the ocean on occasion. After all, Imima, his Destroyer, is out playing on the water. As is his Tentacruel. He sighs happily, always glad to see his pets getting along.

Sarracenia has posed:
It isn't long before Sarracenia arrives. She does indeed come in through the front door, but...she is wearing a -very- different outfit from her usual.

It starts with the dress: a cobalt blue thing with light red trim, Tomoyo having recalled Sarracenia's specifications. Straps cross over her upper arms, rather than her shoulder, and it shows quite a bit of cleavage, a black brooch with the Star of David in yellow right in the middle of her chest. The high skirts and small cape are also light red. Next comes the glove and boots. They match the dress, blue with light red trim. The gloves are fingerless opera gloves, coming up to her elbows with yellow gems sewn onto the backs of the palm and the hems.

The boots stop short of knee-length, with more of those yellow gems at the ankles. Next is the tiara! Based on the first tier of the Dark Magician Girl's unusual hat, it wraps around the forehead with a single point rising up at the middle. It has been embedded with more yellow and light red gems to make it seem more royal. The final touch is a light red necklace with another yellow gem. And to complete the outfit, a replica of the Dark Magician Girl staff! It is a small wand with the spiralling yellow head, blue shaft with light red trim and a spherical yellow gem at the base.

The princess stops just inside the door, then gives her staff a little twirl. "So, what do you think?" she asks, smirking confidently. She knows she looks great, and this dress just makes her look even better.

Lute (188) has posed:
Lute hears Sarracenia, and turns to face her. His sharp brown eyes look up and down her form. His lips part just slightly. He is trying to speak, but he is at a loss for words. He supports himself upon the balcony, taken aback. After a moment, he takes a few steps forward. He continues to look her over, his gaze looking towards those spots that men are more likely to focus on. His hands move forward, to grab the back of Sarracenia's own hands, rubbing them softly.

"...You... You look stunning, Sarracenia. It really suits you."

His eyes finally move to her own, rather cheerfully. Lute is doing something he rarely does: He's /blushing/. He is that astounded right now. And, as usual in such a moment, he has a strong temptation. He wants to kiss her again, and his lips even press together for a second. He stops before actually moving forward. The temptation is obvious, though.

"I'm... I'm not sure what else to say. I just. I have no words."

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia blinks as Lute actually gets tongue-tied. It makes her blush a bit, and even more when he takes her hands and rubs them. "I..uh..." she gets a wide-eyed look as Lute says he has no words, and he has that look in his eyes. She swallows softly, and is quiet. She doesn't know what to say, either. She just looks back at Lute until her cheeks are burning red and her brain catches up to the situation. She pulls away quickly and turns to the side, fidgiting nervously.

"I...I knew it would. That is why I ordered this dress." she says timidly, tapping her index fingers together bashfully. "S-so...how are things at your pokemon ranch going?"

Lute (188) has posed:
Lute catches the the blushing from Sarracenia, and it's only now that he's realizing how overwhelmed he is. His brain is finally catching up to his reaction. He has to take more control of this situation, he feels. He doesn't like being caught off guard.

"...Well. The ranch is in the process of being purchased. Should be a couple of weeks, and then we can start actual construction. I'm... really looking forward to it. It will be a nice, beautiful place to raise my various pets. You'll have to visit when its finished. ...Though. Is there anything you'd like to see built there? I like it if there were things there that my girlfri--" A pause. "That my friends would like. ...Sorry. Slip of the tongue."

He realizes how little chance he has. But, still, he tries to stay close to her. And tries to make things less awkward. "...What have you been up to? Keeping busy on the war, and keeping busy with running your kingdom?"

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia blushes a bit more as Lute's tongue slips, then her expression hardens a bit. She doesn't push Lute away, but it is clear the moment has passed. "Honestly, I have done very little as of late. I have not even run one of my 'find a hero' campaigns. Things in the kingdom have gotten rather busy with the increased trade. Many people like our weapons and power-ups, so the revenue is pouring in." she says, still facing off to the side, her expression distant now. "I do not really participate in the war beyond trying to claim the Caverns of Prophecy every now and then. The war seems...useless to me."

Lute (188) has posed:
A small sigh escapes Lute's lips. Yeah, he fucked it up, and he realizes it. He just starts to smile softly at Sarracenia, trying not to leer at her body. Instead, he motions towards a couch in the living room of the beach house. Offering a seat to Sarracenia. Should she sit, he'll move to soon after.

"...Mm. Sorry it's been tough for you to get involved. ...Maybe I should offer some help on that. I know your main goal is to.... find your hero. But, I think just by fighting in the war more? It will give you more of a chance."

He hurts slightly as he says this. Despite his lecherousness, despite his multiple partners? He still treasures each individual woman he falls for. But he realizes more and more this might not work. At the least, he can provide support, he supposes.

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia walks over to the couch as the seat is offered and takes a seat. "How do you figure?" she asks as she relaxes on the couch, suddenly feeling tired. "No hero wants to rescue a princess who attacks people. But...I am not good at being the kind of princess that heroes like to rescue."

She closes her eyes, then rests her head in her hands. "I am starting to think that I am not meant to be happy..." she says softly, her eyes barely opening again, staring off at nothing.

Lute (188) has posed:
Lute smiles at Sarracenia. It's largely all he can think to do at the moment. But as her hands move to her face, as he begins to wonder if she might break out into tears? Lute has to do something. He scoots a bit closer, just speaking quietly.

"...There are lots of heroes in the Confederacy. A number of powerful fighters, who are bold and heroic. The sort who wold like one such as you, a princess who takes matters into her own hand. Trust me. You're meant to be happy. You'll find /someone/. I know it well. There is a lot to liek about you."

His hand lifts, to wrap around Sarracenia's back. His hand gently rests on her shoulder. And he moves to lean against her slightly. What else can he do?

     A slight pause.

"...Would you like a drink?" He isn't sure if princesses drown their sorrow in booze. He thinks he has heard of them doing that before. But, he may as well offer.

Sarracenia has posed:
The princess sighs heavily and actually leans against Lute when he wraps his arm around her. "...a drink?" She considers a moment, then smiles just lightly. "Sure. Nothing heavy, though. I am still a princess." she says. She leans away from Lute again so he might get her a drink. Then, she actually looks him over. "...why are you wearing that ridiculous swimsuit?" she says, blushing again at seeing a man in such a thing. "There is a princess here. Please put on something a bit more appropriate."

Lute (188) has posed:
Lute stands, slowly walking to the kitchen. The kitchen is more or less visible completely from the living area. Really, it's basically all one room. He grabs a bottle of wine, and opens it. Pouring a pair of glasses. It's not the /finest/ wine, but it's still not low class either. Lute glances back towards Sarracenia, as she comments on the outfit.

"...Well. I'd put on something else, but. I keep only beach outfits here, and the main beach outfit I'd wear is just a swimsuit. ...I'll get some normal clothes brought here if you want, though. ...Or wrap a towel around me? I dunno?"

He returns, handing Sarracenia her glass. He actually does take a moment to grab a towel at least, and wrap it around his waist. He shrugs again as he sits down, "Sorry again for not having another outfit."

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia blinks a bit at Lute's explanation. "You do not own swim trunks?" she asks as she takes the glass. She smiles lightly as he apologizes. "It is alright. I suppose while in someone else's home I should respect their choice of clothing." She does seem more comfortable as he covers up a bit more. She takes a sip of her wine, then goes still, watching the liquid flow back and forth after she lowers her glass.

She can't think of anything she wants to talk about, so she just turns to watch the waves washing up on the beach. "This is a nice place." she says after a few more moments of silence.

Lute (188) has posed:
Lute shrugs a bit, "These are higher end swimming trunks. Cover less, thus making you more flexible in the water. Labcoat is mostly just for show, and mostly because I like showing off that I've nearly reached my doctorate. Just to spite those who call me /completely/ stupid."

He sips from his wine, setting his glass on his table. A smile at Sarracenia, "...Well. It's nice, yeah. Fairly quiet a lot of the time too. Great place to relax." Lute feels a bit of awkwardness in the air. That sense of two people who have a complicated relationship, after a complicated moment, and the two trying to sort it out a bit.

And so he may as well make a move, just to break the awkwardness. At the least, she'll be set in her emotions to him, even if it's anger. He yawns, stretching his arms. And, one of them falls behind Sarracenia's back. He leans against her slightly. Yes he is using the oldest trick in the book.

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia raises an eyebrow. "And...are you a competitive swimmer now?" she asks, a bit of her playful condescension returning. "You are kind of stupid, but...you are also kind of smart. It is a rather unusual combination." she says, watching Lute come back to sit beside her before she returns to looking out the window.

Distracted by her thoughts, she doesn't really take notice of it when Lute's arm lands behind her on the couch. "I need a place like this to relax. The kingdom is always busy, and outside the walls is no place to be safe and relaxed. Inside the castle is so...stifling."

Lute (188) has posed:
Lute lets out a small bit of a chuckle, especially as he gets away with the arm behind Sarracenia. He looks towards her as opposed to towards the ocean. "...Well. Not a pro swimmer, but I've spent a lot of time practicing at sea. With Imima and Mr. Crabs, I have to be ready for naval combat on short notice. ...Though, I'm certain you look far better in a swimsuit than me at least."

Yeah, he's going for it. He leans a little closer to Sarracenia, speaking softly still, "...Yeah. A place like that must be stifling. And here, you don't have to worry about it. You can come here whenever you want to relax. It's safe, its comfortable. And it's wonderful. Wonderful, for so many reasons."

And he leans in, his lips moving to kiss Sarracenia's cheek.

Sarracenia has posed:
Princess Sarracenia giggles softly. "Of course. But, you do not look so bad in a swimsuit. I am certain it is just the swimsuit that makes it look so silly." she says.

The princess blinks as she hears Lute much closer to her ear, and that sixth sense one has of someone getting close kicks in. She turns suddenly, and the cheek kiss...becomes a lip kiss.

Sarracenia blinks in surprise, and in her surprise she forgets to pull away. She just sits there, her eyes gaining a distant look for a few moments as her mind goes to where she wishes things in the real world would go, but they soon regain their spark, and she pushes Lute back. She doesn't actually seem angry like she usually is after he does something. Instead, she seems...sad.

She finally does something. Which is give Lute a half-hearted slap. "Stop doing that. We have already established that this cannot work." Still she doesn't move away from Lute. Instead, she actually snuggles in against him. "Idiot..."

Lute (188) has posed:
Lute takes the slap. A small chuckle. He can't help it, it's just so half hearted. He knows Sarracenia is strong. Stronger than him, unless perhaps he is merged with his Unown. But she doesn't really want to hurt him that much, and he can tell it. Plus, it's somewhat deserved. He knows the boundaries, and he's pushing them. Even if it was accidentally more than he wanted.

t But as she cuddles against him, he places a hand in her hair. He softly strokes her hair, while his other hand reaches around her back. He holds her tightly, just smiling.

"...Sorry, yeah. I know. Hard to resist with such a beautiful woman in front of me." He wants to comment that her resistance is going down, but really, that can go unsaid. He sighs a little bit. Despite the sadness, he feels content as long as she is in his arms. He still just looks down at her as she cuddles him, smiling.

"...So. You wanna stay the night? I actually sort of made sure there would be a private room for more important guests. ...And yeah, the door locks from the inside, so you wouldn't have to worry about me trying anything."

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia closes her eyes as Lute's hand gently strokes her hair. "I suppose I could stay the night." she says softly, though she makes no move to leave the couch. It is nice to be held by someone who cares for you, even if you cannot be with that person. She might be wrong to let herself enjoy it, but she is so lonely most of the time. How could she pass up such an opportunity?

"If I am going to stay the night, I will need an overnight bag. Contact my kingdom and have them send one out." she says. She finishes off her wine, then sets the glass down and snuggles a bit closer.

Lute (188) has posed:
Lute's hand continues to stroke Sarracenia's hair. He's not surprised she doesn't want to leave from laying on him. His other hand rubs at her back, rather casually. He starts to lay back a bit on the couch, against the armrest. This way, they can both lay down, and he can enjoy the cuddling a bit more.

"...Yeah, I'll make the call. I'll have them leave the goods downstairs, so they won't bother you. That sound good? And, like... Really? If you want? Just spend any night you want here."

He's mostly started neglecting his own wine. Sarracenia is more than intoxicating enough for him.

Sarracenia has posed:
Sarracenia nods lightly as Lute reiterates that she can stay anytime she wants. "Be silent." she says, snuggling in against him once again as he shifts. "I am sleepy." Seems she intends to use Lute as a pillow. Still in her Dark Magician Girl outfit, it is quite the sight, her snuggled against the labcoated and speedo-wearing Lute. If anyone other than perhaps Harp were to walk in, the assumption would be rather scandalous.

But, right now, the princess doesn't care. Her hero, even if he is not the hero she wanted, is holding her and isn't trying anything lecherous.
