Cast of Characters: 20, 776

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
For how she stayed awake after the fight ended, Toph does not know. Thankfully the medics were standing by and ready to treat the fighters, getting them on stretchers and stabilising their injuries. Treatment was administered the moment they arrived at Papaya hospital, with healers ready to make sure the two young fighters were treated as quickly as possible.

It's late in the evening when Toph finally wakes up, letting out a groan as she remembers a few of the voices around her, some of them nurses. Nurses who use the smelly soap that reeks of flowers and something nasty. They remember her too, but at least she's more well behaved than she was the first time she was a patient here. Still, she's Toph Beifong. So after the healers are mostly done with her and she's left alone, she takes the chances to sneak out of bed.

There's no warning for Tommy when his door carefully opens, and the familiar figure of a certain blind earthbender can be seen as she slips inside. She's wearing a white linen hospital shirt and pants, with bandages covering her arms, bandaids around her face, and she moves somewhat awkwardly. It's a good thing that her shirt is oversized, which means that it works well for a makeshift basket for what looks like... candy?

"Heya Froggy, how are you feeling?" she asks with a wide grin in his direction.

Tommy Oliver (776) has posed:
Considering that Tommy was knocked clear OUT of his Power Rangers uniform, the fact that he's even still in his karate gi and even has consciousness is probably something that should be noted on a chart somewhere. While he may have allowed a bit of healing in the beginning, Tommy has chosen a more standard form of rehabilitation. In the form of doing it natural. He's just trying do it the way he learned from those that taught him to be so well grounded in martial arts.

"Toph. Hey!" Tommy offers just a weak smile. It's weak because of the bandages and the pain that continues to course through his body. It was like he was fighting actual mountains so there's quite a bit of soreness that's going on inside of his body at this moment. Still, though, he's not at all sad to see her. Quite the opposite!

"Not bad. Awesome job, by the way." Tommy winces as he moves towards a (green) mat on the floor. "I was just about to do a little meditation. See if I can numb some of the soreness. How about you? How do you feel?"

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
"I bet you look like shit, though!" the girl laughs, though she points to her forehead. "Do I still have a mark here? Huh? You did hit me good with that one, didn't see it coming." Yup, it seems Toph likes joking about her blindness.

When he talks about meditation though she arches an eyebrow. "Just don't forget the medication. Man, before the healers did their work even breathing was tough. I'm feeling pretty sore, but I can take it." Her ribs are still sore, but it's easier to breathe now at least. It shows in the way she moves, that she's still feeling the effects from the fight. But she doesn't seem to have come here for any other reason than to say hi and talk about the match. And when he compliments her she seems pleased. "Of course we did awesome! I would like to see them clear up the area after we were done. And huh, didn't know you could take a punch like that. And you're pretty light on your feet with all that jumping around."

Tommy Oliver (776) has posed:
"Yeah, being a Power Ranger does that." This is so weird for Tommy. Talking about being a Ranger aloud. Zordon's decision to 'go public' by signing up with the Union was a little weird but at least there's less secret identity stuff to worry about at this juncture. It also makes it easier to make friends.

Tommy drops down to the mat and winces the moment his body hits it. "Maybe I better medicate /then/ meditate." Tommy's agreement with her is followed up by a groan of soreness. "My one good one to your uh... twenty? Pretty cool ability there. The whole rocky spikes deal? Painful, yet effective." He's still feeling those. Shudder. Wince!

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
Toph chuckles just slightly, then winces slightly as she eases herself down into a chair nearby. "Well yeah, I've been doing this for as long as I can remember. And I /am/ the greatest earthbender of all time, so of course I can do basically everything with earth and metal," she explains with no small degree of pride. "You managed to handle it though, I'll give you that! Most people whine in my experience, especially the ones who underestimate me." But Tommy didn't do that, so she treated him seriously in return.

"I gotta ask though, you're like Ziggy right? I think he's a Power Ranger too. But I never really asked just what a Power Ranger is," she admits as she tosses some of the candy in her lap over to Tommy. Catch!

Tommy Oliver (776) has posed:
"Yeah. Like Ziggy." Tommy offers a small smile at the thought of his fellow Ranger. "Uh, let's see. Being a Power Ranger is kind of just like being yourself. Just with augmented abilities and a really cool costume. We basically protect people from Rita Repulsa and her endless horde of giant monsters. It's really weird when you think about it." Tommy shrugs it off, though, because since he's become a Power Ranger he's finally found his place in the world.

Pained but quick hands are capable of snatching the candy with ease as it flies towards him. Reflexes are quick. "Thanks." He unwraps and is in the middle of preparing to chew when he figures he might as well get his mutual ask on. "What's an earthbender?"

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
"Oh, that angry lady who yells a lot?" Seems that the earthbender has heard of the lady before as she cants her head slightly.

The explanation of what a Power Ranger is seems adequate, and Toph shrugs. "So you dress up in costume, become tough and save the world? I can dig it." It's not like she hasn't heard about stranger things in the multiverse, now is it? Heck, her adopted father is a super hero and one of the most known ones in his world.

She's in the process of stuffing her own mouth with candy when Tommy poses his question. "Ah tho--" She swallows the chocolate in her mouth. "I thought you saw that when we fought," she points out teasingly. "I make the earth move. A bender is a person who has a connection with an element, depending on what nation they are born into. I'm from the Earth Kingdom, so I'm an earthbender! I can sense it around me, and well... it's how I live my life. If I wasn't a bender I would truly be helpless, considering I'm blind and all." Huh, she seems rather relaxed talking about this. "So why and how did you become a Power Ranger? You pick up the suit in a store or somewhere?"

Tommy Oliver (776) has posed:
"That's uh... kinda' complicated. I did some things that I shouldn't have done. My friends helped me fix those things and Zordon welcomed me to the team with open arms. Kinda'." Tommy chews away on something juicy and fruity. He's really okay with the eating of the candy right now. It seems to even be helping with the pain. Or the sugar is distracting from it.

"Being a bender seems pretty cool. Legendary, even. Well, from where I'm sitting, I can definitely say you're the best earthbender I've ever come across. You hit like a mountain. Next time Rita tries to pull one of her stunts, I'm bringing you along."

Toph Beifong (20) has posed:
Okay, this sounds kind of interesting. "So you got in trouble, and you got out of trouble by becoming a Power Ranger?" Toph says between bites of candy. It looks like she's relaxing in the chair, at least trying to despite her still aching injuries. "So who's Zordon? The team leader or something?"

How many people haven't wished they were a bender? Toph smirks at that. "Eh, many people are benders in my world. Few are as good as I am, of course. Mostly because I use bending as a way of living, not just as a way of fighting. Being an earthbender involves being as hard and stubborn as the earth itself. And sure, I love fighting, so if you need a hand or a boulder, just lemmie know." She picks up some more candy and tosses it over to him.

"I wonder what it will be like fighting Gohan..." she muses.
