Defiant (554) has posed:
The Triumvirate are the three most powerful superheroes on Defiant's world. Led by LEGEND, the three have been the sole decider of Endbringer battles and other S-class threats. LEGEND's lasers, ALEXANDRIA's 'flying brick' powers and EIDOLON's ability, to have the four powers he needs at any one time, have made them some of the most powerful and the most influential figures in the world.

The rumors of another Confedereate operation in Brockton have drawn the three of them to the city. It's a show of force by the PRT, to make it absolutely clear that they will not tolerate any more Multiversal malcontents. It'd be a simple enough matter to lure them out into the open and into a fight - one that might just be able to stack the deck against the three demigods. That is, if such a thing is possible.

It's a late afternoon in Brockton Bay, with the halcyon days of summer providing a warm backdrop. The people don't seem too concerned, really. After all, the Triumvirate are here - what could possibly stop them?

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Is there a trap? Or is there not a trap? Maybe that debate in itself -is- the trap. Because if you look at it the right way it comes down to a cache-22 scenerio. You -know- the Confederacy is lurking about your world ready to start kicking up crap, can you really take the risk to not face them? How would that look to the people you are supposedly trying to protect? Or to your own colleagues and subordinants, when it could be interpretated as reluctance, or even fear?

Not that there wasn't reasons. There have been efforts to play with the masses, to try and stir up members of society whom feel suppressed or threatened by what these superheroes have become rather than protected. The assassination of the PRT's non-super commander has certained sowed its share of discontent and disorganization. It was all being orchestrated to push the heroes they wanted, because to send lesser forces instead would be like shipping sheep for the meat grinders.

Plus you have the fact that Tesla Armadia has made no secret of her own intentions. This was not a mastermind that stayed hiding in the distant shadows pulling strings. She was here, right in the middle of the city, waiting. Like it was to be a meeting between casual aquaintances and not an all out war brewing.

Of course it helped that she's had transmissions going out in short stints, briefly disrupting TV and radio transmissions with playbacks from the Birdcage, the riots, the assasination and other recenting problems. Every one of them tagged at the end by either 'They Are Coming' or 'Who Will Protect You Now?' as messages.

The pieces are being moved into place. Soon the game -- the endgame -- would begin...

Hisoka (799) has posed:
Hisoka has a few ideas about how to draw out the Triumvirate. He discussed a few things with Tesla the other day, trying to get a feel for how things might go in this operation and with the Confederacy in general. Despite appearances he's NOT a member of the Confederacy after all... just someone who seems to be willing to support them. This might end up labeling him a Confederate in the eyes of other Multiversals, but he hardly cares about that sort of thing. He joined a troupe of thieves and killers after all, just to get close to their leader.

In any event, Hisoka has no real intention of going forward with his own plans to draw out the targets of the day. This is a Confederate operation and he's here nominally to aid them. And to see the look on Alexandria's face when she realizes invulnerable does not mean immortal, of course. No, he's here to support them and to react to the plan, not to interfere by acting on his own. He's not even visible, not currently. He's hiding in plain sight, just an ordinary person, an apparently-burly construction worker with yellow hardhat and reflective vest making his way down the street. With his normal flamboyant clothes hidden along with his hair and that facial makeup, he's pretty much unrecognizable. He's just waiting for the Capes to show up so he can make his move.

Xiao Li Yu (823) has posed:
While it was true that Xiao Li Yu had...nothing to do with any of this, the allure of observing a situation such as this was too much to resist. And thus, the researcher wound up coming along. Not really one to be hiding if the situation didn't strictly call for it. And this one, she didn't particularly think it did!

That being the case, she was right out in the open, along with Tesla. She had a stack of flyers in one arm, cheerfully going around and handing them out to passerbys. "Step right up! Learn the truth with your own two eyes! This is what's really going on!" It was pure propaganda, with details of recent events based on Tesla's playbacks that may or may not have been exaggerated.

Spreading gross misinformation, along with what may have had some truth to it? Perfect way to piss off the powers that be.

At least theoretically. All that was left was to see if they took the bait.

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
It's been a while since the last time Medusa Gorgon was here, but since the Confederacy has taken interest in this world, why not do something with it? It's not like they don't have other medics to help with the WMAT and treat the injured behind at the Citadel. Besides, as a fellow scientist it would only be fitting to help dear Tesla out in her schemes. And why not bring additional help in this?

Two figures rush across the sky towards Brockton Bay, two dark silhouettes against the slowly darkening sky. Speed is on their side, as one witch holds onto her broom, with one gangly teenager following behind on leathery and somewhat creepy wings.

    "Do you think that's it?"

"What else do you think it is, Crona?! There's no other city around!"

The two figures land on the roof of one of the taller buildings in the city, Medusa sliding off of her broom and stepping down on the roof, while Crona's landing is a bit rougher, and the teen shudders and makes a sound of discomfort as the wings retreat back into their spine, only for Ragnarok to fully appear, leaning over Crona and resting his gloved hands on his Meister's head and shoulder. Medusa in the meanwhile scans the city, narrowing her eyes as she awaits orders from Tesla. She is the one who runs this mission, after all.

Crimson Sea (286) has posed:
A young woman accepts a flier from Xiao and pauses, reading it over. After a moment, she moves on through the square, skimming the paper's contents. Utterly normal in appearance, the only thing that sets her apart is her garb, a white military officer's uniform complete with epaulettes and medal ribbons. Reaching up, she adjusts her combination cover.

The Silent Wolf of the Crimson Sea frowns. There isn't anything about /her/ in this. Of course, the reasoning is because it's to make the heroes look bad, even if she contributed to that. With an amused chuckle, she balls the flier up and tosses it into a trash can in passing.

Given the entirely different appearance from the Tagg incident, she blends in with the other military that occasionally wander Brockton's streets. Perhaps just an officer on leave.

Defiant (554) has posed:
The Triumvirate is quick to respond. There's Tesla, right in the middle of the CBD, and the Triumvirate moves on her. The transmissions are causing no small measure of panic and public outcry and, while people haven't taken to the streets yet, it's likely that it'll happen if they're not stopped.

So, here come the three big hammers to smash down a series of nails.

LEGEND, being the fastest of the three, is the first to arrive in a flash of multi-colored light. He looks the most like a typical superhero - a tight blue uniform that clings to his muscles, emblazoned with a pattern that might be fire or lightning. He wears a blue domino mask, his wavy brown hair open to the air. They say he can move at light speed, but the real threat are his lasers that can't be dodged or evaded, that can freeze or ignite his targets.

EIDOLON arrives next, atop a rooftop overlooking the street. He's a mysterious looking one, this man. He wears a blue-green skintight suit with a hood and cape - green light streams from the interior of both. His mask is white and expressionless. They say he has the power to have whatever four powers he needs. Second only to Scion, apparently.

ALEXANDRIA lands like a cannonball, shattering the asphalt before Tesla and her group. She eyes off Tesla behind her black visor, her dark cape fluttering in the wind. She gives Xiao a very pointed look too.

"This is your last chance," Legend calls out, hovering in mid-air above the street. "Surrender and leave this place, or we will use whatever force is necessary to apprehend you."

HK-47 (754) has posed:
He had come a late arrival. but if his master was to be believed, instances where one was fashionably late were supposedly something that made the one in question look more impressive.

Whether this was true or not, HK-47 knew that it didnt change his base objective; the termination of the so-called heroes who would stymie Confederate interests.

However, that is not the only reason the droid has come here. For he has learned that one of the Confederacy medical experts was present - and he had to admit, he was somewhat eager to see her work, if what he heard of her was to be believed.

The droid makes his presence known on the rooftop behind the snake-witch and her pink-haired progeny, though HK is aware of the fact she may already have detected him in advance. He is shrouded in a heavy black cloak to conceal his nature, though his faceplate is exposed beneath the hood.

Supplication - If these so-called empowered meatbags follow the code of conduct known as heroism, then perhaps some simplistic gross endangerment of the innocent meatbags in the city streets would draw them into an advantageous position - for us, that is.

When the three so-called heroes arrive, HK stares a moment at the colorful appearance of the trio, wondering if being empowered with supernatural gifts was what imbalanced the minds of meatbags to the point where they would parade in colored undergarments as if /begging/ to be put out of their misery by a well-placed shot to the cranium. Maker knows the droid couldnt think of any /practical/ reason for their attire.

But that was just typical organic insanity at work, the droid supposed. If anything, he ought to be grateful they did not have the sense to wear armor - it only made his task easier.

Deciding it best to have outside input, the droid takes a knee beside Medusa Gorgon and levels his rifle. Query - You are the designated expert on the disassembly of fleshbag targets, Dr. Gorgon. Do you have any recommendations on where to strike? My personal preference is the eyes - not only does it blind the target, but I find they have a very soothing sizzling sound when their internal fluid reaches a boiling point."

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Tesla tilts her head a bit as the superheroes arrive. She does take a step back when Alexandria slams to the pavement, though it's arguably just to avoid getting any spray of shrapnel from the impact than anything else. Her attention, at first, mainly goes to Legend since he is the one making the heroic proclimations. "Tch. Really?" She holds her hands out a bit to the sides. "Would I be standing in middle of your protected populance if I intended to merely surrender?" Then raises one to waggle a finger at him. "Though you do get a point for not making a long winded beratted speech out of it."

After the thudding entrance Alexandria made the sounds that follow might not be heard, or just assumable to be the strain the pavement was put through by the landing. To which one might not even notice the ground cracking apart farther and then collapsing as a massive mountain of metal dinosaur bursts out of the ground behind her. Having fought mutants and gods before at Tesla's behest Shardcore clearly realizes just a brutal assault won't be enough, as instead of letting loose he just moves to grab Alexandria and fling her aside.

Tesla adjusts her visor-glasses with one hand, causing them to do that creepy reflective glimmer mad scientists seem to like. "Or did you really think we'd be foolish enough to come into the open alone?"
To all the world it looks like an ambush to protect its maser from the closest threat. The 'trap' that may of been expected.

But is that the real trap? The -only- one?

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
From her vantage point up high it's relatively easy to get an overview of things at least, and as Medusa looks over the scene it seems another Confederate has arrived. "Hmm? Perhaps. Heroes are so different, it all depends on their sense of conduct and just how important they think they are, in my experience."

Crona in the meanwhile stares somewhat nervously at HK-47, and Ragnarok turns his eyes away from the three superheroes that have stepped up to Tesla's challenge. "What clown is this?"

For now Medusa ignores her child and the demon weapon, looking somewhat amused when HK-47 continues talking. "I'm no doctor. Though indeed, the eyes have a high concentration of nociceptors." Nerve cells that register pain. "You could also aim for their ears to mess up their sense of balance, I guess," she adds with a casual shrug. "Crona."
%tImmediately the young mister straightens up. "Yes, lady Medusa?"

"We are engaging the one on the rooftop."

With that she offers a coy smile and a can't of her head at HK-47. "If you'll excuse us~" With that she leaps forward, pulling her broom underneath her as she descends towards the rooftop where Eidolon is. Crona isn't slow to follow, Ragnarok shifting into a more draconic form as Crona rushes after their mother.

The witch doesn't expect to make it to the roof unseen, so she lands on the other side of the roof with Crona behind her.

"Eidolon, was it? How ironic. Are you familiar with Greek literature~?" Medusa asks of the Cape.

Xiao Li Yu (823) has posed:
Xiao froze comically when Alexandria looked at her. Like a kid caught stealing from the cookie jar. She casually stepped back to avoid the potential shrapnel spray as well, shielding her eyes with an arm. "Well, they certainly know how to put on a show." She commented casually, shrugging and letting the flyers she was holding flutter away into the wind at the same time.

Smiling in an amused manner, the researcher began to rise into the air, her arms folded into the sleeves of her ornate green robe. She ascended until she was just about level with Legend. "Sorry, but I'm afraid that leaving isn't an option at this juncture." Her smile widened a bit more. "Besides...I'm quite curious to see how your abilities work directly."

No sudden moves were made as she talked to the superhero apparent. "You don't mind entertaining my curiosity for a bit, do you?"

Crimson Sea (286) has posed:
When the Supers appear, the uniformed officer pauses, glancing over her shoulder. Holding to her cover, the woman makes with the rest of the citizenry to evacuate, though soon ducks into one of the surrounding skyscrapers. Within, she scales the building at a casual pace. The three capes are already being picked off and engaged by her fellow Elite, and so the Silent Wolf is in no hurry.

The better to get the drop on someone once the opportunity arises. After all, a good pirate never fights /fair/.

Hisoka (799) has posed:
The heroes are here! The heroes are here! Or ... something like that. No doubt that's what the common people are chanting, of which Hisoka's trying to resemble a member of. Fortunately for him, he doesn't have to pretend for long. He eyes the attackers. Alexandria... looks like rotten fruit to him. Strong, but too self-assured. Past her prime. No longer hungry for victory or properly fearing death. Tesla Armadia wants to kill her, and Hisoka's inclined to let her. Assuming Alexandria doesn't prove too much for her, that is.

His choice then is one of the others. Legend and Eidolon. Legend's set of powers is known and unsubtle, but not something Hisoka can easily fight or counter. While his agility might be an asset against those lasers, Hisoka's inclined to let others handle him. Others with guns perhaps, or similar long-ranged fighting techniques to counter his flight.

That leaves Eidolon, who appeals immensely to Hisoka. The sheer unpredictability of a changing powerset is a power and a strength of its own, and Hisoka is possibly fast enough to react and deal with such a power. Hopefully he's fast enough. If not... this fight's going to get ugly fast. He takes sight on the glowing blue-green caped crusader when that one flies in. It's not hard for Hisoka to see him, or if necessary to sense him. Up on the rooftops, hmmm? Well, that's not tough. Hisoka bounds up into the air, his construction helmet falling off in the powerful leap. He lands on the side of the building and bounds upwards, springing up in bouncing steps like someone rappelling in reverse. Almost exactly like that, in fact, springing out from the vertical surface and then shooting up ten feet or so per bound, arcing back in to make contact with the building before pushing back out and springing up again.

He swings up onto the ledge of the building's roof. Whether Eidolon sees him or not, he doesn't really care. Stealth isn't his thing once battle is joined. He pauses when he crests the roof. "Oh! What a pleasant surprise!" he says, greeting Medusa as if they just happened to meet on the sidewalk instead of up on a building's rooftop. "If I'd known I might meet you, I'd have showed myself earlier~" he grins. Yep, pretty much ignoring Eidolon.

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe is here, she knows the Triumvirant are heavy hitters and to be honest the world is going to need them with how things are going at the moment. She's heard about the confed operation so here she is to lend what help she can. So as the Triumviranty makes it's statement to the feds, they might need to also be looking up as a woman in plate armour, firey angel like wing is divie bombing down towrds them and she comes in for a heavy landing on a roof top leaving a shockwave as she does, she pills a Naginata from her back and just looks at the confederates.

"So vultures? Well then I got something to say about that."

She's here to even up the odds a bit it looks like and the Feds might know Tomoe can take a lot of punnishment. So she's just made things a bit more complicated.

HK-47 (754) has posed:
Inwardly, the droid bristles at the flippant comment given by the strange symbiotic lifeform that seems to have emerged from the back of the pink-haired fleshling. He does however take some minute enjoyment in the way the anxious-looking human stares at him, sending a slight charge of pride through his processor at the notion that his design was still as intimidating as ever. Supplication - I am the one that you can consider responsible for the closing act in most instances, unidentified parasite. Typically in the most final way possible.

When Medusa Gorgon leaves - and with a respectful gesture befitting of another who enjoys a proper meatbag disassembly - the droid takes aim across the battlefield, picking out a target that has gone and made herself a rather obvious point of interest.

The combatant he had met during the tournament held by Satsuki Kiryuin.

Interjection - I have something to say to you as well: Die.

The trigger is pulled, a disintegrating shot lancing out from HKs disruptor rifle toward the female. The last thing the empowered meatbags needed was back-up - if HK could keep her from reinforcing the others, he could keep the battle in their favor as they divided and conquered their opponents.

Defiant (554) has posed:
Shardcore comes at Alexandria. She stands her ground, sets her stance. She's stood before Endbringers and prevailed - what is one giant machine to her? When Shardcore comes at her and snatches her up in its mighty jaw, Alexandria goes limp. But only for a moment.

She grips the top of Shardcore's jaw in her hands, plants her booted feet on the bottom, and /pushes/. She pits the machine's motors against her strength - and quite literally just rips the jaw free.

Alexandria backflips away, landing on her feet, and charges towards Tesla. She leaps halfway there, leading with her legs, moving to bury both of her feet into the armadillo scientist's chest - that's going to hurt!

In the air above the streets, Legend watches Xiao closely. "It's always an option," Legend tells her. "I'm going to do what I have to do, and so will you, I imagine." Legend doesn't even need to raise his hands or give any sign that he's taking action - rainbow light beams out from his body, barely wider than a finger, intent on hitting Xiao in the chest - if they connect, these lasers will /freeze/ on impact. Seems like he's trying to bring her down without killing her.

Eidolon turns his blank mask in the direction of Hisoka and Medusa. He raises his hand, and intensifies the local gravity around the pair, like he's trying to crush them against the roof. So, one of his powers is gravity manipulation. Three more to identify but that's a hell of a one to lead off on. It's not enough to harm or kill - like Legend, it seems like he's fighting to detain. "I know that even gods are bound by immutable laws. Don't resist - you will not prevail." His voice is shadowy, deep.

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
The moment Hisoka swings himself up to the rooftop to join them there are different reactions from the people up there, it seems. Crona for one looks a bit uncertain, and Ragnarok snorts. Medusa however doesn't hide her smile, looking rather pleased. "My my... imagine you being here?" she responds, also seemingly ignoring Eidolon as she rests her broom over her right shoulder. "And don't worry about it, dear. I'm sorry for not being available earlier, though I guess this can qualify as quality time, hmm? It's not drinks, but I'm sure we can have some fun~"

Because some people, namely twisted people, do find these venues amusing, apparently.

The moment Eidolon uses his gravity attack though the witch's eyes turn to him, and she's unable to keep herself standing straight as she is pulled down. "Eidolon are dead spirits according to Greek literature and myths," Medusa responds. "And I never much cared for any law." Next to her Crona gasps, their spindly frame far more affected by the gravity. "Aaaah I can't stand up! I don't know how to deal with this!" Ragnarok grunts and places his muscular arms on the floor, fighting against the gravity. "What's the big idea, you masked freak?! Crona! Let's kick his ass!"

Medusa meanwhile smirks. "Soul Protect... Release."

Immediately the spell concealing her soul lets go, a burst of energy before she speaks again. "I hope you don't mind some noise!" she says next, and Crona seems to take the hint, struggling to hold out their right hand. "R-right..." Ragnarok dissolves back into Crona's back, only for a sinister looking black sword to form in Crona's waiting hand. Medusa doesn't take her eyes off of Eidolon. "Vector Plate!"

Three black arrows appear, one underneath her, Crona and Hisoka, aiming to throw them back and hopefully out of the affected areas of Eidolon's gravity spell. At the same time Crona speaks. "Screech Alpha." Immediately Ragnarok lets out a ear piercing shriek that resounds throughout the area, loud enough to make most people wince... though it's directed at Eidolon just as Crona slashes out, sending a projectile slash attack of energy towards the Cape.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Metal and machinery screen in protest loudly, but even with being crafted to take on such foes the pressure Alexandria puts on the jaw mechanism is too much to resist. Thankfully it's the lower jaw that's completely torn off, leaving most of Shardcore's actual head still intact, but that doesn't stop it from being thrown aside afterwards as Alexandria turns her attention, and her strength, entirely towards Tesla.

The kick impacts, but if she was expecting the scientist to go flying backwards it's probably a bit of a disappointment when Tesla only skids back violently. There is, however, very clearly the impact damage to her chest armor afterwards, even as Tesla dusts it off with one hand. "Were you expecting the kinetic dampner again? Oh, it's here, I just put it directly in the armor network this time. Much more effective this way.. and for that, I do have you to thank. But remember how I said I only play by your rules when it suits me..."

The sound of activating and expanding machinery follows, typical of when her power armor is activating. Except this time, it's not just the usual technopath power armor. It's a larger and bulkier, more saurian looking armor. And if watched closely one might notice parts of it actually being teleported to merge with her normal armor instead of expanding from it.

And then Tesla wheels around back towards Alexandria, leading with one of the kinetically charged gauntlets. Alexandria may be super resistant to physical damage, but invulnerablity and super strength doesn't necessarily shield one from getting slammed and thrown around by the force in a blow besides injury.

Xiao Li Yu (823) has posed:
Xiao was not quite expecting that Legend would actually take action without making any grand, heroic gestures. That's one delusion about superheroes shattered. Quickly, she pulled her arms from her sleeves and brought up an arm to defend. Where her hands were bare before, they were now covered in a pair of black metal gauntlets that occasionally pulsed red.

The laser struck her armored arm, and immediately it began to freeze. "Oh my. That's quite something! I was expecting you to make some silly heroic gesture before firing!" The scientist chuckled to herself, watching as the ice traveled up her arm. "...Interesting. However..." She pressed her other hand against her frozen arm, and a burst of flame flared up over it. The ice that was threatening to continue past her arm was melted, freeing her up to move it again.

Xiao smiled towards Legend after that was done. "Very interesting. I wonder what else you can do." But she didn't give him a chance to respond. Both fists were clenched and a sickly, green miasma began to build up around her form. The miasma gathered, quickly turning into an acidic, poisonous fluid that hung around the girl in globs of varying sizes. "Let's test your resistance~" And without any further comment, the viscous green globules of poison shot through the air, leaving the researcher's side and heading right for the hero. They would veered through the sky, arcing and changing trajectory seemingly at whim.

But careful observation of Xiao's expression would seem to indicate she was controlling it. If contact was made, Legend would find that the substance was highly acidic in nature, burning through most normal substances rapidly, and then introducing poison to the system once it made contact with a living being's pores.

Nasty stuff. She usually avoided using it. But she was...curious this time.

     Very curious.

Crimson Sea (286) has posed:
After a few moments, a figure in a white military uniform appears on the rooftops. Not the same rooftop that Eidolon and company fight on, though. Hands in the pockets of her surcoat, the woman crosses over to the railing, planting one booted foot on the railing and leaning forward to peer down at the unfolding battle with the Triumvirate. Hands leave her pockets, a barbed black chain paying out of her sleeve which she unwinds casually.

Her other hand dips into her jacket as well, hauling out an object that should be far too large to be concealed by any definition of the term-- An enormous black anchor, its surface oily in the afternoon sun. After paying out a few meters of chain, she hauls this off the roof and yanks the chain, hurling the anchor into a spin. After a few rotations, gaining speed, Crimson Sea hurls it up into the sky with a grunt of effort.

After doing so, chain still paying out of her sleeve, the woman takes another step and simply walks off the building.

Hisoka (799) has posed:
No doubt Hisoka would find fighting with Medusa far more fun than having a date with her. But since that's not likely right now, he's content fighting a deadly foe at her side. He doesn't know the pink-haired child, but that one's clearly with Medusa. Fair enough... off limits. For now.

Hisoka ends up straining under the gravity-warping field. He downplays his own strength for the moment. He probably can't actually fight it completely, but he could resist it. Better in this case to make Eidolon overconfident however. He's laying his traps, and getting ready to batter Eidolon around a little.

He's caught a little off-guard when a vector plate appears below him, pushing him (hopefully) out of the field of gravity. He reacts quickly though, turning and skidding to a halt as if he were fully prepared to be flung around. At the same time he brings up his arm. If Eidolon needed to gesture to create the gravity field, then the answer is clearly to make him lower his arm. Bungee Gum isn't subject to gravity, and the substance is mostly invisible and intangible until it contracts. He had no difficulty snaking some out and attaching it between Eidolon's hand and the rooftop beneath him. Hisoka doesn't even need to gesture, but he does it anyways for dramatic effect. He thrusts his own arm downwards at the same time as he uses the Bungee Gum to yank Eidolon's arm downwards, mimicking the motion. No sense in giving away the nature of his powers unnecessarily, not yet. He doesn't mind people guessing he's some sort of puppetmaster.

"Universal law?" Hisoka croons. "The only universal law I know of is that those who rise too high above their place have a long fall ahead of them." he smirks. "This had better not be your best attempt. I would hate to have gotten excited over this if you're TOO easy to kill."

Defiant (554) has posed:
Alexandria charges right into that powered fist - and why wouldn't she? She's almost impossible to hurt. But Tesla has assumed correctly and while Alexandria may be invulnerable, she still has to obey physics. The power of the blow sends her flying through a shopfront that practically explodes as all that kinetic force finds somewhere to go. The storefront collapses in a haze of smoke and debris.

And, after a few moments, Alexandria comes charging back out of the ruins in a cloud of dust and smoke, fists extended! "I hope you've brought more than that!" Alexandria snarls, seeming utterly unharmed. "I'll rip you out of that armor with my bare hands!"

Legend moves. The thing is, he simply can't move at his top speed inside of a city - the risks of collateral damage is just too high. And, even if he could, the globules seem to be tracking him. The cape suddenly flickers out of existence in a golden flash, his body becoming insubstantial, composed only of light, as the first set of green globs descend upon him. As they pass /through/ him, Legend reforms.

Alright, so he can shoot lasers, and... become light for a short period of time?

Unfortunately, it only buys him a few seconds. When the next orbs strike him, they begin to melt through his costume, the poison seeping into his skin. "Acid!" Legend shouts out, raising one hand - and firing off laser beams from each of his fingers, bending through the air and around objects to strike Xiao. These ones, however, will ignite anything they come into contact with. How much poison did he get? Enough to cripple him given time? Time, of course, will tell.

Defiant (554) has posed:
On the roof top, Eidolon's gravity field intensifies. It seems like his powers take time to charge up. "An Eidolon is also an idealized person or thing," he comments, like he's had the discussion before. His control of gravity seems to afford him some measure of floating flight, and he levitates in the direction of Hisoka as well as Medusa and her minions. He blinks out of existence as the energy slash touches his costume, reforming on the other side of it, even as he grabs his head at the sheer sonic roar let out by Ragnarok! So, reflexive teleporting to evade direct physical harm. That's two powers identified.

The stun allows Hisoka to snare Eidolon's arm and wrench it aside, relocating the gravity field. Eidolon points a finger at Hisoka and an orb of green energy roars through the air, intent on blasting Hisoka from the roof top. "Impudent." Energy projection.

Eidolon then nods - in Legend's direction, quelling most of the acid that's burning his leader still. The poison, though, might still be afflicting him. Legend's outfit reknits where the acid had burnt it away. Some kind of restoration power?

Eidolon is currently exhibiting gravity manipulation, energy projection, reflexive teleporting and a vague restorative power. The Confederates know he can switch them up for another random four with a few moments of uninterrupted time - they could be better, or worse!

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe is getting she's going to be dealing with some very heavy problems. However she's managed to keep one of them, busy. That being HK-47. She would be very bad off if she was hear in the flesh if she had power. Heck she's still in a bad place given the load outs he was known to carry, namely to screw up organic life heavily and painfully.

She's caught by the shot, it hits her body impact and it causes her body to distorts from looking normal to appearing like a wire frame around the point of impact. The damage is bad as it's taking a while for the region to return to how it should look normally. Also from the look on her face she did feel that and she's charging in at HK-47 and if she's quick enough she might just catch him in melee to take a few swipes at him with her weapon.

"So the combat droid HK-47. This is no off the cuff hit is it? If your here."

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
"Oh, don't worry." Though Tesla has to pause in her response to deal with Alexandria charging her. She catchs the super-woman's fists in the metallic hands of her armor, squeezing them shut on them. Even then, much like her own attack, the force of just catching the charge is enough to shove her backwards, armored heels digging into the already abused pavement. The strain on the armor can be heard creaking and sparkling, but Tesla built this design to handle things like Saiyans, it's going to take more than just a super strength beatdown.

Tesla uses her grip on Alexandria's fists to pull her closer, as face to face as she can get with the saurian helmet over her head. "You see, my dear Alexandria, you have a very potent power set. Super durable, super strength, super intelligent if you want to consider that even. But." You can't see it due to the helmet, but you can hear the smirk in her tone of voice.

"That is only super by comparison to -normal Earth standards-."

And then there's a blinding flash from the helmet's flash, several of them in rapid succession even as Tesla pushes her away. She has seen nothing to suggest that Alexandria is immune to effects -other- than physical damage.

And even if the super-women does manage to shrug off the disorienting, nearly seizure like strobe-light flash.... Tesla's -real- object was to distract or disorient her just long enough for Crimson Sea to make her move.

HK-47 (754) has posed:
Mockery - I believe you had a statement you wished to make, digi-construct? Thus far, the only statement you have made is one of futility. The droid spares a glance to the nearby battles, seeing the danger posed by the entity designated as Alexandria, and yet Eidelon seemed to be the biggest potential threat.

However, he still had his own issue to deal with.

Activating his ion-charger, the droid begins moving to the side, his arm-panel opening up to fires a shot of concentrated electrical-disruption energy. An attack that ought to damage her digitally-constructed avatar as easily as it shorts out and ruins electronic devices.

Shes too eager to get close to him, and HKs processors estimate can use that to his advantage if he can calculate her actions. After all, she has to keep rushing him to try and get close enough to use that weapon.

That means he knows what her target is for her flight-path. And thus knows where she will try to head.

Crimson Sea (286) has posed:
Within a few seconds of Tesla's strobe and breakaway maneuver, a woman in a white military uniform slams into the street immediately in front of Alexandria, shattering the asphalt in a spiderweb of cracks. Rising up, she shows her face, one eye concealed behind the brim of her officer's cap--and presumably the same eyepatch she wore that day. A rapid clinking announces a chain retracting into her sleeve as she assumes a normal posture.

    "Remember me, lass?"

The Silent Wolf of the Crimson Sea leans forward, baring her fangs in a sinister smile, "Time ta find yer limits." Her hand raises, the chain sliding up into it as if pulled by an unseen rapid-retract winch. Fingers clench around the chain and, with a mighty heave, wrenches the chain down even faster.

Seconds later, the Burden of Injustice slams into the street immediately in front of Crimson Sea. Unless Alexandria moves, it's going to land right on top of her with enough force to register on seismometers throughout the region and set off every car alarm in Brockton Bay.

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
"Let's see if you can live up to that ideal then~" Medusa smiles, clearly having her own ideas of ideals. "Vector Plate!" Even more black plates appear around the rooftop, all pointing in various directions. And one of them is near Hisoka too if he wishes to use it.

Crona is the first to charge outright at Eidolon, an almost crazed look in their eyes as Ragnarok is held in line with the rooftop. Stepping onto a black arrow throws them straight forward with great speed. "Screech Gamma!" Again Ragnarok lets out a high pitched scream, all while Crona slashes out several times, the black blade wielded with full control.

Behind her child, Medusa has spent some seconds building up her powers, repeating her mantra again and again as several black arrows make their way out of her back, moving and twisting about her shoulders and arms. "Nake snake, cobra cobubura..." As she moves her arms in coiling movements she throws one hand forward. "Vector Arrow!" All the arrows shoot out, zig zagging through the air aimed at Eidolon, going around Crona.

Xiao Li Yu (823) has posed:
"Oh ho~" Xiao intoned to herself as she watched Legend move about, dodging most of the poison spray. Her eyes widened a little upon seeing him /turn to light/ to avoid the first volley. "Well, that's quite interesting! I'm impressed!" She spoke cheerfully, lightly clapping her hands in praise for the hero. ...Somehow it seemed mocking, but she sounded sincere in her interest.

But a creepy scientist is always a creepy scientist.

"Whoops!" And here come the lasers again! Xiao immediately veered off to the side to dodge...only to find that they actually bended to follow her! A few strike her in the side, leg, and arm, causing burns and igniting her clothing where possible. "Tch! Not bad! Bending lasers! So that's what Miss Armadia meant! A novel concept." The researcher grit her teeth in pain, but put it aside for now.

She pressed her free arm to her injured one to put out the flames, while dodging through the air to avoid the rest of the lasers. "This is actually quite troublesome... Interesting, but troublesome." She mused to herself as she flew. Xiao couldn't dodge forever though. It was time to counter! On the next pass, she went straight for Legend himself. A shimmering green aura of magic surrounded her at that point. Not like the poison from earlier, but...something else.

"You can fire lasers and turn to light, but how is your hand to hand?" Xiao asked while quickly closing the distance. Once in range, she demonstrated a very clear understanding of the martial arts. Several quick strikes were thrown Legend's way. A strike to the jaw, a blow aimed for the midsection, another to the side, and then a swift roundhouse aimed for the side of the head.

A risky gambit, given the hero's speed, but if that's what it was, then she just needed to push her own speed to the limit. Theoretically anyway.

But there was a method to the madness. With each blow, if landed, Legend would feel his energy, his vitality, draining away. So /that/ was the purpose of the aura around her.

Hisoka (799) has posed:
Hisoka guessed right about the gravity manipulation, and grins at being called impudent. "You think you're ideal?" he says. "And you call ME impudent?" he taunts. The green bolt comes flying at him, and he sways out of the way. Mostly out of the way anyways. He's slightly caught by it, spun hard by the force of the bolt, but he continues the spin, turning it into a semblance of a graceful dance. Not a *pretty* dance, but definitely graceful. There's just too much flail in his limbs for it to be pretty, but he's clearly in control of himself.

He comes out of the spin, posing wierdly with one arm in the air and his legs crossed in a decidedly non-martial way. "Your powers are flexible, but hardly ideal." the Magician taunts, holding the pose. With his power he pulls up a chunk of rooftop presumably shattered by the gravity field, lofting it hard at Eidolon. "If you change your powers so rapidly, how can you master them? How can you truly understand how to use them flexibly? How can you react quickly enough to a changing battlefield to truly fight at your peak?"

Hisoka's more or less unaffected by Crona's shrieks. Hearing protection, after all, goes along with all the other protections Nen provides. And while he's taunting Eidolon, while he and Medusa and Crona send attacks at the would-be ideal being, he's setting up his trap. Beneath the rooftop, through various openings from broken concrete and steel, he's insinuating strands of Bungee Gum. While Eidolon can teleport he's not going to spring his trap, but when the time is right he'll collapse the roof around the hero. Pin him, trap him. Let that little pink-haired child cut his head clean off, possibly with an added yank from Hisoka's own strength and his bungee gum.

Defiant (554) has posed:
The asphalt cracks around Alexandria's feet as she meets Tesla's power-armored strength with her own power, grappling. Alexandria's lips, the only visible part of her face, are a thin, angry line of concentration and effort. And she continues to push, to take ground, inch by inch. To never, ever yield. Not to the Endbringers, and not to some armadillo-

     Flash!

Alexandria darts back, "You bitch!" She's blinded for a moment, going defensive. To Crimson, she hisses: "/You!/"

The Burden descends and Alexandria turns her helmet skyward. She raises her hands and-

She catches the Burden. Teeth gritted, knees buckling, the ground /shatters/ as all that force finds no purchase in Alexandria's body and ripples outward, blasting apart shops, throwing cars aside and filling the air with a cacophony of broken glass, terrified screams and wailing car alarms. "I... have... no... LIMITS!"

She can't move, though. The Burden is grinding her inexorably towards the ground, her feet crushing deeper into the earth. "Eidolon!" she calls out, already driven to one knee. She's bought herself a few seconds, if that. Her unstoppable strength is being worn down by the immovable object. Take that, philosophy.

Defiant (554) has posed:
Legend's hand to hand, as it turns out, isn't as great as his lasers. He deflects some, blocks others, but a few more find purchase. The blow to his gut winds him, the air whoofing out of his lungs, and the roundhouse kick clips the side of his head. His speed isn't agililty - it's literally speed on a straight line from point to point! Legend goes spinning towards the ground, blinking into light at the moment of impact. He reforms, standing. Bruised but not defeated. The poison, unknown to anyone but Xiao, is still racing through his body. Legend coughs, but surely that was just from the blow to the gut.

Legend raises his arms to either side, increasing his visible surface area - and erupts with enough lasers to put the famous Itano Circus of missiles to shame. They arc out from Legend like a thousand bright wings, and then descend upon Xiao in an intense fusilade of rainbow light! Some burn, some freeze, and plenty of others just apply a whole heap of kinetic force!

If the poison's in his blood, the more he exerts himself, the worse it might become!

Crimson Sea (286) has posed:
The pirate lowers her face, reaching up to hold her hat down as the impact redistributes most of the architecture in the surrounding block. Her coat billows in the airblast, but the Perfect Raiton's Stance keeps her upright while she weathers the debris thrown out by the Immovable Object colliding with the Unstoppable Force. When it becomes clear just which side is winning the engagement, the woman leans forward, "No limits, ya say?"

Gripping the chain, she stops it from receding into her sleeve, leaving a meter or so of slack to keep the anchor standing where it is atop the superhuman, "D'ya know what I be, lass?" She leans forward, "Me entire purpose be ta kill that what be impossible ta kill." Her teeth show again in a fanged smile.

    "Let me show ya how."

With a wrenching motion, Crimson yanks the Burden off of Alexandria's shoulders, the shackle striking solidly into her palm. The weapon is spun upwards in an arc, whirling in a circle while wreathing itself in necrotic essence, resembling black flame. When the lower part of the arc swings the anchor up towards Alexandria, it turns intangible, carrying no physical impact.

Instead, the Burden takes on the properties of the Soul-Cleaving Blade, assaulting the superhero's spirit rather than her legendarily durable body.

Defiant (554) has posed:
Eidolon floats through the air like a green-blue wraith. He raises his hand and simply shifts gravity to force Crona back and awayas they charge him - like hitting a brick wall. Ragnarok screams again but Eidolon keeps his hand raised, managing to stop some of the arrows as Eidolon takes a knee. The others find openings in his guard, ripping into his costume. At the first sign of pain, like an autonomic response, Eidolon blinks away again.

His heavy breathing can be heard behind his mask, red blood from the arrow strikes seeping through his green-blue costume, staining it a deep purple.

On the other side of the rooftop, Eidolon stands tall. He raises his hand, presumably to fire off an energy bolt or to manipulate gravity, but Alexandria's shout for assistance draws his attention. "I'm coming!"

Which he is, courtesy of Hisoka, because he manages to hammer him with that chunk of rooftop, throwing him from the top of the roof. As he falls, Eidolon blinks back to the rooftop.

He has a choice to make. To continue fighting Medusa, her minions and Hisoka - or call upon his power and maybe, just maybe, save Alexandria.

Eidolon clenches his fists, like a Saiyan charging their aura, and prays.

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe is not mocking HK but she gets that he is. She sees he's clearly trying to get after one of the big named capes of this world. She's able to deflect the shot partially she may be digital but her weapon? Does not seem to be so, it's enough to keep the hit from being worse than it could have been. She keeps moving in on him intending to press and force the droid to split his processing power.

She doesn't have to take him out or so she thinks she just needs to be able to keep him from being at this top game on his intended target. She keeps pressing for another dive but this time? She's chanting a spell and a dozen rays of light seem to be homing in on HK from afar. She's got some ranged options it seems.

"Futile? Hey your the one who coined the term meatbag. So I know you can be creative in your word play!"

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
"Of course I am. It's part of the job description." Tesla totally took being called a bitch as a compliment. She has been called much, much worse.

Alexandria is being as much of a difficult obstacle as expected. But at the same time, pieces continue to move, one by one, into place. Crimson joining the fight puts the super-woman into a very compromising position, even with her superhuman strength and invulnerablty. Not to mention entirely proving her point on what the woman is super in comparison to a normal baseline. The shockwave ripples out through the splintering pavement with the impact, the armored scientist bracing herself against it.

Even as Alexandria struggles with the anchor, even as she calls for help, Tesla strides forth with her usual composure. The Ankylobreaker sheds a few bits of armor here and there with the movements, jarred and broken off by tanking so much super-human force, but in spite of the damage strides all the same. "No. That hypothesis is incorrect. You -believe- you have no limits." It looks a little odd to see the hulking saurian themed armor take a demeanor more akin to a lecturing professor, but Tesla pulls it off without flinching, folding the large armor's hands behind it's shell-shaped back. "You have been the top of the proverbial heap for so long, no one able to touch you because of your powers, that it's gone to your head. To hold this power over and push it down upon others is how to enforce justice? Crush that which you cannot deal with? How is that better than how those you call villians exploit their powers. Pff. You think yourself better. Untouchable..."

Crimson Sea goes for the spiritual attack rather than a physical one. Tesla is perfectly fine continuing her lecture while the pirate attempts her soul keelhauling

"But again, we're not talking the standards of -your- world."

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
Hisoka's comment does earn a chuckle from Medusa where she stands, her arms crossed before her. "He does have a point, you know... Jack of all trades, master of none. What good are having many powers if you don't know how to use them properly?"

The gravity power throws Crona back, and the youth lets out a cry as they tumble backwards across the roof. "Crona, get back up! He's a sitting duck!" In response the meister lets out a pained sound, pushing themselves up while gripping Ragnarok's hilt even tighter.

There's a curious look in Medusa's eyes as Eidolon teleports again... and that Alexandria is calling for him. Well, whatever he is doing, why let him do it?

    "Vector Plate."

Another vector plate appears directly underneath Eidolon, throwing him towards another arrow, which again sends him towards Crona and Hisoka. In the meanwhile she summons up more black snakes, aiming the attack to where she is trying to send Eidolon flying. And Crona is waiting there as well, ready to slash out at Eidolon with Ragnarok.

HK-47 (754) has posed:
"Mockery - And yet like most meatbags, you fail to learn from your mistakes!"

That mistake was thinking getting close to him was the key to victory.

Thinking fast, the droid switches to pure defense as a device is slammed into the rooftop he stands on, his portable barrier activating. As Tomoe nears him and the beams impact the barrier - each one being absorbed and negated - it overloads a pulse-wave meant to send any enemies that are too close flying back several feet.

It ought to be not just considerably harder for her to avoid an omni-directional repulsor-wave... and, seeing as she's airborne, it ought to be far harder for her to keep her stable flight path.

After all, when birds that were moving too fast in one direction were hit by sudden gusts of wind they did not expect... they all-too-often were stunned, sent off their intended flight paths and fell crashing to the ground... where the predators would find them much easier pickings.

Xiao Li Yu (823) has posed:
Xiao's expression became one of disappointment as her assault wound up mostly successful. She slowed to a stop as Legend went sailing downwards to the ground. "...Well that wasn't quite what I was expecting." She mumbled, folding her arms back into her sleeves as she graciously waited for him to recover. She remained floating in midair, not taking any extraneous actions at that point.

Once he was up, she smiled. "Are you okay? Are you sure you should be moving about so much? After all..." 'the poison must be spreading by now.' ...is what she would have said, had Legend not unleashed a furious barrage of multicolored lasers right at her. "Ohhh...!"

Whatever fake worry Xiao was going to express for the hero stopped right there. And immediately, she went into action. She veered higher upwards, and then off to the side. Downwards, back, sideways, forward. It became a furious chase as Xiao rocketed through the air, going around buildings, through underpasses, and even into a nearby construction site, navigating the countless metal beams and lasers.

It looked like Xiao was completely on the defensive now. She couldn't do much of anything with all of those lasers chasing after her! Several got the best of her, finding purchase in various places. A freezing laser struck her back, an electrifying laser hit her arm, and then another flaming laser struck her leg. Even still, Xiao did not attempt to disperse them.

She must have had a plan...

Actually it was fairly obvious. At least she thought it was. Force Legend to exert himself. The poison would do the rest. It was more of a statement, doing this the hard and risky way, than it would be to simply attack him.

It was a race against time. Her speed was gradually lowering as her magic reserves continued to be burned through by her extended flight. Beads of sweat formed on her, and the wounds from the lasers were acting up...

Hisoka (799) has posed:
As Eidolon soars away Hisoka spares a glance for his trap, still unsprung. Oh well. Then suddenly, Eidolon's back. Well, THIS ought to be interesting! Should he spring his trap? No... too soon. He doesn't know what powers the hero will have. Clearly he's changing them, so now's the time to test the powers, see what's available, see if the trap will work.

Hisoka grins as Medusa sends the cape flying around. He follows the motion easily, and decides to put his own spin on things. With a yank of bungee gum, he tries to topple the hero, to send him literally spinning. Head down, feet up, arm to the side, whatever it takes. He's not going to touch Eidolon's center of mass, not going to mess up her own attack. He's just going to try to make it impossible for the hero to react to the attack. IF he can demonstrate to his own satisfaction that the cape lacks the power to resist his trap, he'll signal Medusa by drawing a line in the air, using it like an arrow, to show her what he wants. This line isn't invisible, or at least probably not, not to her power. If Eidolon sees it, so be it. But he's not doing it YET... just getting ready to. Let's see just what Eidolon's new powerset is first...

Defiant (554) has posed:
The removal of the Burden is some weight off Alexandria's shoulders - literally. She gathers herself into a fighting stance, glaring at Crimson from behind her visor. Whatever that black fire is, it's probably nothing that can harm her, right? And so, Alexandria steps into it, arms raised to deflect the anchor, preparing to lash out with her foot.

     Alexandria /screams/.

It's not a scream of battle, of fury, but that of shock and pain. It's not something Alexandria has felt since she first faced the Siberian, where the Slaughterhouse cape had taken her eye. The intangible nature of the blade bypasses her power, sapping away at her will, her strength, her essence. Aborting her charge, Alexandria staggers back, pale - perhaps from the shock, or perhaps from the terrible weapon. "If you..." Alexandria spits at Tesla, "Had *any* idea what is at stake..." She draws herself up again, ready to fight them both if she has to. "/This/ is our world! Not the Endbringers', not the entities', and not the Confederacy's!" Alexandria retorts, voice proud. She charges the pair, leaping from Elite to Elite, battering away with fists, feet, elbows, arms and knees. But she's slower, weaker - Crimson's strike has debilitated her.

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe says "I lived this long and maybe not but she's going to continue to keep getting tin the way. Maybe she knows she can't beat him but she can force him to deal with her. Which is just what she intends to she's a tank after all. She's damn well going to try to keep him off the capes here as long as she can. Her HP bar on her own HUD for lack of a better term? Is taking some nasty hits she's forced to pop a potion but that's only going to help for a bit it only heals so much and she can't use them that often.

This time however the repuls3 wave doe cause her some issues, yet she seems like she's ready for something akin to it. Or at least gets what's going on. After all ALO has some bosses you need to be flying to fight on rare occasions.

Tomoe does manage to keep from crashing and HK would find her chanting again this time? It's a burst of fire!

"Maybe so, maybe so. The question is how well do you learn from your mistakes?"

Defiant (554) has posed:
Legend's lasers bend and twist and turn to follow Xiao, like heat-seeking missiles of light. But with enough time, and enough things between her and him, they inevitably end up hitting other targets.

Legend is sweating, his brown hair matted over his face. He drops to his knees, energy spent. An attack like that, however, was nothing to him. He could do that many more times before tiring like this. And when did his vision get so blurry?

Legend drops to his hands and knees, and pukes his lunch out. "Poison...?" he murmurs. He's wracked by another convulsion, willing himself to stand through sheer willpower.

His face is clear, even behind that domino mask. This can't be happening. "Dragon?" he calls, voice weak. "We're not going to make it. Where's the Guild? I can't- I can't fly."

Dragon's voice, Newfoundland accent and all, buzzes in reply: "Ten seconds until we'll be on station. Hold on. Withdraw if you can."

In the skies above, Tesla might be able to identify an incoming Dragoncraft. A Cawthorne, one of Dragon's fast-response units. The cavalry is here - but it's almost certainly too little, too late, as Defiant and Dragon, replete in their suits of powered armor, drop in from the sky. "Tesla!" Defiant shouts out, voice boosted by his helmet. "Do you have ANY IDEA what you're doing?!"

Crimson Sea (286) has posed:
The circular motion in which Crimson Sea swings her weapon terminates at the top of the arc and she releases it, allowing the anchor to swivel around on its shackle about her wrist. This interposes the hellish weapon between herself and the weakened Alexandria when the woman recovers enough to press the attack. The Burden is weilded as a shield, weathering the hero's blows with metallic ringing sounds that peter out into painful sobs. The horrible sound of Soulsteel.

Behind her makeshift shield, the woman's smile remains.

"You've never felt /pain/ b'fore, have ye?" She pushes forward suddenly, thrusting the Burden ahead against Alexandria's attacks to try and shove her off balance. A wrenching motion whips the anchor away and behind herself, "Ya've never LOST b'fore, have ye?" Catching the shackle of her anchor, Crimson slams the curved flukes forward towards the center of her chest not once but twice, further focusing on destabilizing the hero's balance.

When the moment is right. When a leg is extended just a little too far out. Even the smallest vulnerability is enough for Crimson to capitalize on. The Burden is spun upwards, the flukes aimed down. Using both hands on the shackle, Crimson plants a boot on the flukes and slams them downward on that vulnerable limb, that over-extended foot, that braced leg.

"If ye've never felt pain, if ye've never lost, how can ye think yer deservin' o' protectin' anythin' worth protectin'!"

HK-47 (754) has posed:
"Smug Retort - I learn better then you would expect, for you have already lost without realizing it."

The droid sees the fire and counters with his wrist weapons, activating his instant-freeze carbonate launcher. The stream of flash-freezing fluid impacts the burst of flame and creates a rush of steam instead - negating both the attack and creating a smokescreen. Taking advantage of this, HK pulls back into cover behind one of the building's radiators.

Everything was going as intended. The digi-construct avatar is so absorbed in stopping him that she fails to notice her surroundings

The scream from the target designated 'Alexandria', the blood-loss suffered by the mark known as 'Eidolon', the poison bringing down the objective labeled 'Legend' - all of it was proof that, so long as they were divided, the Triumvirate would /fall/... because alone, they could be brought down if one figured out how to do it.

"Mockery - You are a warrior suited to sustaining high amounts of damage and acting as a shield. Did you honesty believe there was no purpose to my luring you away from the trio of empowered meatbags? Statement - Look behind you-" the droid gestures to the struggling forms of the Triumvirate "- at your comrades. You were so focused on me that you left them isolated against us. You were their only back-up... and in your assumption that you were keeping me from helping my allies... /I/ have in fact succeeded in keeping you from helping yours."

"Conclusion - And now.... you shall watch them all /die/, knowing you failed to protect even a single one of them."

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
The scream is enough to make Tesla grin behind her helmet. That Alexandria has felt true honest pain so little and so few times just makes the aganoized cry all the more pure. Again the super-woman has only proven her point, so confident in her long unmatched strengths that she is walking right into their attacks.

Yet even overpowered so, Alexandria rises again, weakened but determined. It would be a shame if she didn't, really. "Oh, I'm sure the Union will be all too happy to clean up whatever mess is left lying around to threaten the world. It's better off that way, than being badly protected by someone that can't look at the outside worlds in any way other than down her nose."

The super woman comes at them in an enranged fury, and Tesla barely has a chance to fully extend the additional shields in the Ankylobuster's arms. Even then, even in her weakened state, Alexandria's blows are enough to smash chunks off the ablative defenses. "In fact, here they come now," she murmurs as the dragoncraft's approach is picked up by the armor's sensors. A kick smashes metal off the thigh guards. Yet, undaunted, Tesla is up to something. "Now that you remember what pain -is-..."

Electrical sparks crackle between the fingers of her gauntlets as Tesla grabs for the sides of Alexandria's head even while the woman's blows are pounding destructive force into her armor. Again, it's not directed at hurting her physically. Rather the electrical impulse is directed, via the naturally conductive nature of a human body, for the brain itself. Specifically, attempting to trigger a specific part of the brain via electrical stimulation. After all, Alexandria has that memory that forgets nothing...

... So what happens if she's forced to remember that pain she just felt, over and over again?

"Removing an obstacle," Tesla replies, almost offhandedly, to the question. "And teaching a lesson... This world has no hope if it doesn't learn to NOT play by the rules its use to."

Xiao Li Yu (823) has posed:
"...Oh dear." Xiao mumbled, resting a hand against her cheek as she landed onto the ground near Legend. She wore an expression of feigned worry, completely disregarding her own not so optimal condition right now. "I tried to warn you, you know? But you just went and exerted yourself like that before I could finish what I was saying."

The cheery smile on her face seemed to suggest however, that this entire situation was nothing more than scientific amusement, and curiosity for her. "Now, I /could/ give you the antidote, but that's-" Whatever the researcher was going to say was cut short as ...wow looks like the reinforcements arrived. "-Nevermind~ Looks like your friends are here." Speaking in an almost musical tone, Xiao lifted off the ground just barely and began to float backwards, fluttering a hand cutely in farewell.

"Bye~ Thanks for entertaining me! See you again sometime! ...That is, if the poison doesn't get you first. Good luck with that!" No, she wasn't going to try and kill him right here and now. Not her style. Of course, she didn't have to save him either. She'd done enough already. Plus Legend did more than his fair share of damage to her. There were burns all over her. Her cheongsam was burned through in various places, and there seemed to be a severe ice burn on her back. Amazing she managed to smile through that really.

For now, Xiao kept her eyes on the descending Dragon and Defiant, to see what they were going to do.

Defiant (554) has posed:
Eidolon might be a sitting duck, for a few vital moments. He's shoved forwards on the vector plate, and then shoved towards Crona and Hisoka. The black snakes settle in Eidolon's cape, his hood, all over his costume. The demon weapon slashes outwards and rips a deep furrow through Eidolon's abdomen. Blood sprays.

What Eidolon doesn't know, is that his power isn't random. It gives him what he needs, even if he doesn't know it himself. The adrenaline kicks through his system and Eidolon suddenly knows what he can /do/.

Eidolon spreads his hands and distorts space into a wild storm, air whipping around him to disrupt Hisoka and Medusa. As Crona goes to slash at him again, Eidolon slows time in a small radius around him and he just steps around the next blow. He blasts Crona in the back with lightning, blue sparks flying from his fingers.

And then he's running for the edge of the rooftop, if he can just save Alexandria-!

Unfortunately, putting him right into Hisoka's trapped area of rooftop.

Eidolon has gained: aerokinesis, a small localised time slow, lightning fingers and something that could be a mental power.

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
Having seen Hisoka fight twice in the WMAT has given Medusa an idea of what Hisoka can do with his powers, and he has seen some of her magic now to get an idea of how to combine it. When Eidolon goes spinning Medusa grins, looking rather amused at Hisoka's... twist. The sign is noted as well, and she offers him a brief nod in response.

When Eidolon begins using his new powers however it does take one person by surprise at least. Usually Crona is quite fast, relying on speed and quick slashes instead of raw power. As the teen slows down their eyes go wide in shock, and it looks like they are trying to desperately move. But it's all for naught, and the lightning sizzles as Crona cries out, flesh burning and drawing black blood.

Rather than rushing to Crona's side Medusa steps to the side onto one of the many vector plates she placed on the roof earlier, and she's off, rushing across the roof, here and there and gaining speed, all until she's heading straight towards Eidolon's side, aiming a roundhouse kick towards his face to hopefully send him stumbling back.

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe actually gets they were keeping eachother out of the equasion she'd gone for HK because she had an idea of his weapon's payload from past experiance. That experiance let her. She knows she could run off to try and aid them but that would leave HK open to bring his terrfying arsonel into play. She also knows the Guild is here so it's not as futile as he claims. She chants brifly channeling power into Mooncutter.

It's blazing with white fire and she dives at HK saying.

"Turn run and let you bring your big guns to play?!"

She brings the blade down in an attempt to cleave into HK but this is going to leave her wide open to a counter attack from him.

Defiant (554) has posed:
"I've felt pain," Alexandria retorts, "I've felt more pain than you'll ever know!" She had once been Rebecca, the sick girl in hospital with terminal cancer, that is, until she'd become Alexandria. She'd never be vulnerable to something like that again. She lashes out again and again with her fists, if she can just find some weak point in that anchor she can shatter it.

But there isn't one. She's shoved back, bludgeoned with the anchor that sends her stumbling, and then that anchor comes down on her foot. If Alexandria wasn't invulnerable, it would've broken her foot, maybe allowed her to get free. But, bound by a foot that can't be broken, she's stuck. "And what do you know of protecting?! Of sacrifice?! You think your little faction is the greatest threat this world faces? I'd laugh if I wasn't so disgusted by what you're doing."

Alexandria goes to try and batter aside Tesla's gauntlets, but has no luck. With her foot stuck, she can't maneuver. The brain is just a computer, a fancy one, and the right input produces the right output. In this case, the input is a whole lot of electricity. Alexandria shudders in Tesla's grip, and she screams... and screams... and screams.

Defiant's voice can only cut through it for a moment. "Let her go, Armadia," Defiant intones, pulling his spear free from his back, the three sections forming into a two-pronged beast of a weapon. "Let. Her. Go."

Hisoka (799) has posed:
Hisoka's struck several times with air which throws him around, though it's not enough to disrupt his control over the bungee gum. Electricity might well have done so, but not merely whips of air. He ignores the buffeting, maybe even enjoying it a little.

"You'd better die soon." Hisoka taunts loudly, his words ripped away by the wind. "I'm missing your FRIEND dying and it sounds SOOOO incredible~" he croons. This last bit is a bit softer and might get lost, but the rapture in the Magician's expression should be creepy and fairly obvious.

He readies himself, indicating to Medusa where he wants Eidolon. And where, in effect, he hopes her little offspring will be. Assuming of course Crona isn't made helpless by the lightning. He waits, enduring the wind for the few seconds needed to close the trap...

Slowing time, no problem. Lightning, no problem. Winds, no problem. The ability to see a trap closing around him... hopefully no problem. By the time he sees what's happening, Hisoka intends for Eidolon to be off his feet and helpless to actually dodge. Precognition isn't going to help. All he needs is for the cape to hit the right point.

When it happens, Hisoka's action is immediate. The rooftop collapses right underneath Eidolon, sending him down a level, and pulling in roof and wall material hopefully tight around him. For a moment at least, he should be completely unable to move. Wind won't help him get out. Lightning won't save his life. Precognition will be pointless with nowhere to go, and slowing time will only make his helplessness be drawn out more poignantly. As one final note, Hisoka brutally yanks one last strand of bungee gum, yanking Crona towards Eidolon. Hisoka doesn't have to murder the cape himself... only see to it that the hero falls and knows the architect of his doom.

Defiant (554) has posed:
Dragon flits over to Xiao on wings of blue flame. Her helmet, blank save for two lenses, stares up at Xiao. She's weighing up her options. She could catch Xiao, maybe, but as she places her fingers against Legend's neck she makes her decision. "Defiant, I can't feel his pulse. I'm evacuating Legend now. The Confederate is escaping."

Legend lies on his back, immobile and unmoving, his chest not moving. He's dying. Dragon places her hands against his chest and charges her gauntlets. Legend spasms.

     "Breathe. Come on, breathe..."

Crimson Sea (286) has posed:
"What pain have I felt?" Crimson Sea lingers, leaving her anchor where it landed. Lifting up her own foot, she gives the Burden a swift kick, shoving it over on Alexandria to pin her more fully under its impossible weight. She then plants her foot on top of it, looming over the battered hero.

    "I've died. What's yer excuse?"

Defiant's proclamation diverts her attention and the Dread Pirate shifts her attention to the armor-clad hero and his impressive spear.

"Eh?" Stepping up, Crimson Sea puts her full weight on the Burden, stepping casually down the haft to stand on the shackle. Gesturing downwards, the other hand resting on her hip, she asks, "This yers? We were jus' teachin' 'er a lesson 'bout limitations." Eye closing, she rests that other hand on the opposing hip, "Way I see it, yer interferin' wit' necessary education." Turning, she steps off the anchor and gestures again, "But feel free ta retrieve 'er."

Crimson does not remove the Burden of Injustice, however.

HK-47 (754) has posed:
At this, the droid actually regards Tomoe with amusement. "Mocking Explanation - That is issue though - my weapon was /not/ lethal to those three in the beginning of the fight. The only weapon I could have used at this distance is my disruptor, and that would not have been enough to harm any of them with the abilities they have. The majority of my weapons, though less deadly, are only usable in mid-range... where you are now."

The droid's barrier reactivates - enough of a defense to mitigate most of Mooncutter's power... but not all.

However, it is long enough for HK to aim his disruptor at the fallen form of Legend.

While it was true that Legend could not be killed in the start of the fight... that was most certainly not the case now.

HK pulls the trigger and fires his disruptor beam straight for the downed Legend - and then the the barrier shatters, releasing it's pulse to send Tomoe flying back once again... but unlike before, it could not stop the full brunt of the attack, and Mooncutter's energy slices through the droid's cloak and cuts through both his rifle and into his armor, carving a horrid scar into his chest plate. The force sends the droid sprawling and tumbling across the rooftop in a series of loud clatters.

But the shot was already fired. Whether it claimed a life or not, it would hit the target. And it was too late to stop it's flight now.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
As Alexandria is already spasming and screaming from the combination of Crimson taking out her leg and the electrical discharges already jolted into her head Tesla lets her grip go, a few lingering sparks crackling as she leaves the woman to collapse. "Maybe we aren't and maybe we are. There -are- bigger things out there than us.... But if you couldn't stop -us- because of your own hubris and shortsightness, what would you do about -them-?"

Tesla does shake her head a little as she turns away from Alexandria. She's done... but she's not particularly stopping any of the others, either. "Your Endbringers are a formidable problem. But not one you have to deal with alone if you'd just get your super-heads out of your super-asses long enough to realize you don't -need- to do everything for the world yourself anymore."

Then pauses, holding out the battered arms of her armor. "Anyone else care to call me names and take a few more potshots? I'm probably not in much more of fighting shape right now, but if I have to and prove I *am* aware of my own limitations."

Defiant (554) has posed:
Medusa's kick slams into Eidolon's face, tearing his mask free. The man beneath is... a middle-aged man - thick eyebrows, thinning hair, heavy cheeks. He looks like someone who'd dress up as Eidolon at a party, not what someone might think the man to look like. He stumbles back, spitting blood from the blow. He arcs lightning at Medusa, but much of it goes wide. He stumbles... right into Hisoka's trap. It mustn't be a precog power - surely he wouldn't just fall into the trap. "You're a monster," he snaps at Hisoka's taunts, his voice so much less fearsome without the mask.

Eidolon falls, the rooftop collapsing under his feet. There's a loud, pained grunt as Eidolon hits the floor. He coughs, but mostly bound by the fallen debris, he's unable to move. He glowers at Crona and Hisoka and says, "Wait. I've been listening - your companions want to save this world? I'll tell you everything." Well now, that's an interesting development from the most powerful member of the Triumvirate!

Xiao Li Yu (823) has posed:
In all of this, Xiao smiled at Dragon as she drifted away fron Legend. From there, she remained back, watching the others handle their work.

Seemed like things went well. ...This time at least.

There was nothing more for her to do. And so Xiao would wait to see how it all played out from here.

...Oh. Someone just fired a shot at Legend.

     ...

Well, she can't control what /other/ people do, can she?

Defiant (554) has posed:
HK's disruptor shot rips through the air and some sensor on Dragon's part detects it. She stands up, turns - and takes the blast right in the chest. Her armor melts, synthetic skin burns, and the android body gets a huge hole punched right through it. "Defiant, I'm going offline for a m-"

So, that's Dragon down. She saved Legend though. The Cawthorne dragoncraft, operating on simple programming now, settles around Legend like a protective beast.

Defiant (554) has posed:
Alexandria just doesn't stop screaming, unable to respond to Crimson's pointed questions or to Tesla's arguments. Defiant stands nearby, spear held at the ready, a grey corona gathering around the blades. He tilts his head in response to some sort of communication, and then readies his spear like a javelin. "Which one of you wants to go first?" he intones.

Beneath the Burden, Alexandria stops trying to fight it. She begins to spasm, not screaming so much as just choking and gurgling. She's having a seizure, or something like it. The soul damage, the electricity that's been arc'd into her brain, the physical exertion...

She's dying. She's only invulnerable - not immortal.

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
A sadistic smirk crosses Medusa's lips as she lands, watching the man. And the moment he raises his hands to aim lightning at her she immediately throws her arms up. "Vector Storm!" Several vector snakes shoot out of the ground, coiling up around Medusa to form a barrier of magic creatures against the lightning. As for his comment about Hisoka? The witch chuckles slightly with amusement. "You can't fault him for being honest~"

No, Crona isn't made helpless by the lightning, but the time slowing effect is still there. Even if Crona hadn't been hardened by pain and able to work through it most of the time, it's only so fast that the poor meister can move. At least until Hisoka 'helps' them by yanking that bungee gum, making the poor youth yelp in surprise. "Aaaah I don't know how to deal with this!" Crona wails, stumbling towards the collapsed part of the roof top. "Just snap out of it before I punch you, you little twerp!" Luckily the teen seems to regain their balance quickly, shifting their grip on Ragnarok as they step forward to stare down at Eidolon. Behind the meister Medusa calmly walks up the hole, arching an eyebrow as Eidolon speaks. "You assume you have knowledge that's of any worth to us or that we can't get elsewhere. If you truly had a bargaining chip, you would have used it earlier. Crona."

There's a twisted look in Crona's eyes as they snicker slightly. The mouth on the sword likewise leers, then lets out another deafening shriek as Crona leaps down, sword point aimed straight at Eidolon's torso.

Crimson Sea (286) has posed:
"Ta be honest," Crimson Sea reaches out one hand, "I've made me point." The chain suddenly goes taunt, receding into her sleeve and yanking the Burden of Injustice off of the pirate's shuddering victim. Once the shackle strikes her palm, she twirls the anchor and then it disappears in a flash of necrotic, void-tainted Essence.

"Ya can't rely on yer heroes ta protect ya from /us/, what good're they gonna be against /worse/ things?"

Self-disarmed, the dread pirate turns away from Defiant, tucking her hands into the pockets of her surcoat. And just like that, she starts walking away as if she had no part in the carnage right behind her.

A whistled sea shanty announces her departure, but no further words.

Hisoka (799) has posed:
Hisoka might feel bad for Eidolon, unmasked and old-looking. Then again... it's Hisoka. He just sees the middle-aged man as overripe, spoiled.

"A monster?" Hisoka asks, smirking. A monster for wanting to see trash taken out? "Perhaps." he agrees. He certainly has more interest in the deaths of these 'heroes' than he does in saving the world. That's fairly monsterish. "But if you truly wanted to save this world, you should have made sure your secrets would outlive you." he grins. "Who is the bigger monster, I wonder? One man who kills another in a battle that could have ended either's life, or one man whose secrets causes a world to die?"

He shakes his head, getting up, poised and ready. "No, the only thing I want to hear from you is your screams." Hisoka states, turning his back on the fallen hero as Crona starts to work.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Tesla turns her attention back to Alexandria as Crimson comments over the radio, then starts to leave. Snorts softly, though it may be in amusement. "I'm not sure, Defiant, if I should be sad that you would still defend them even after they've tried to block your efforts to do things the way you feel they should be handled, or admire that you have that much dedication." That might come out sounding like an odd way to phrase things.

All the same she reachs over to use the same electrical emitter in one gauntlet to disperse the current crackling around her head.... Though if that is enough to spare her or not .... well to be honest, Tesla doesn't care one way or the other at this point. She did what she came to do, and made their point, the fate of Alexandria's arrogance at this point isn't really important. The example was made, and hopefully the lesson learned. Be it by her or others.

Then she picks up Shardcore's chassis, slinging it over her shoulder almost like a mother may carrier a young child. Getting the head ripped open did offline it withOUT having to tear it entirely apart. Something other superpowered beings have had difficulty accomplishing.

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe has been in quite a fight, she had seen what the disrupters could do and wasn't sure if HK wasn't lying about that, she'd known his skill as a snipers. HIs barrier saves him and he snaps off a shot for Legend but he's having to contend with Tomoe which means he doesn't get to fire as many as he'd like. This one. she also got a rifle the shot's been fired and she's stuck facing HK-47.

"You know what's odd HK, you stil got better standards than some of those I had to fight."

HK was a contract killer he might enjoy his hunts but he didn't seem to randomly explode everything around him. She might be dead wrong on that but she attempts to keep fighting him and keep him at bay but she's clealry messed up her avatar's just a mess and her HP's about in the red now from the brawl she's had.

Defiant (554) has posed:
Trapped beneath rubble and ruin, Eidolon just shuts his eyes. "Then Rebecca was right," Eidolon says to himself, "And our world is doomed. I should have said something earlier. I shouldn't have let all of this happen in my name."

Crona's blade descends, again and again and again, washing the walls and floor with red gore. Eidolon bites down, and tries not to scream - but, to Hisoka's pleasure, he does. Long and loud. "If you're a monster," he spits up blood, "Then I'll /see you in Hell!/"

And, just like that, Eidolon /detonates/ with incredible force, blowing out the entire level of the building, leaving glass and debris to rain down on the streets below. From hell's heart, I stab at thee, indeed. There's a brief sensation of a great storm passing as the dust and smoke clears, but Eidolon is gone, leaving only a tattered cloak, scraps of his costume and a broken mask.

HK-47 (754) has posed:
The droid actually isn't quite sure how to take the seeming compliment from the data-constuct about his apparent standards, though his processor emits a glow of pride nonetheless. It was true that he didn't try to outright cause wonton destruction - though he certainly didn't complain if it happened. However, he preferred his targets to be more about finesse.

Propping himself back up, HK-47 faces Tomoe once again, sparks periodically flaring from the cut in his chest plate. It went deep enough to almost breach the armor entirely, and his readouts showed his structural integrity was compromised.

However, he was still in a condition to fight. His target did not seem to share that.

"Complimentary - Perhaps you are not entirely hopeless, if you are capable of recognizing my higher-quality make and functionality."

However, this doesn't stop the droid from still raising his wrist, activating his flamethrower and shooting a jet of fire for Tomoe's form, intending to finish her off this time.

The sound of Eidolon's screams and the sounds of immense explosions in the battlefield beyond them serve as a wondrous background melody to the droid's audio-receptors.

Defiant (554) has posed:
As the shards of broken building rain down on the streets below, Defiant lets Tesla and Crimson go. "It's not about who they are," he tells Tesla's back, "It's about what they represent and everyone that looks up to them." He doesn't stop either of the Confederates from leaving - God knows he's going to have enough on his plate with picking up Legend, the only survivor of the once-legendary superhero triad, and Dragon's broken body and controlling the situation until the PRT arrives.

Xiao Li Yu (823) has posed:
"Well...that looks to be that." Xiao mumbled to herself. She turned away once everything looked to be settled, and flew off. That marked her departure.

She'd done what she came here to do. And she gotten some interesting ideas from it all.

Interesting ideas indeed. Chances are, she was going to be quite busy at the lab, once she got back.

Hisoka (799) has posed:
Lucky for Hisoka he turned his back, isn't it?

The powerful concussive blast hurls Hisoka outwards, well clear of the roof of the building. It also deafens him, and does plenty of damage to soft tissue. You really don't want to get caught in a blast if at all possible. You also probably don't want to be hurled bodily off a tall building.

Eidolon may have had his last revenge, but Hisoka will have the last laugh. Or at least, he'll have the last smile. Bleeding from ears and nose, he doesn't fall to the ground to splatter on the pavement. Instead he engages his power one more time. Lucky for him, his power is elastic and sticky. Bungee and gum. Bungee Gum. Falling from a rooftop with a tether to use as fall-protection means a sudden hard stop. Falling from a rooftop with a bungee cable there... well, people do it for fun. And Hisoka definitely had fun. The blood running down his cheeks and over his smile proves it. Now, hopefully Medusa also survives. He can't tell, not from down here. It'd be a shame if such luscious fruit is contaminated by the outgassing of a spoiled old prune.

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
Blood splatters as Crona stabs Eidolon again and again, and just as Crona is about to deliver the final attack... it all goes to hell.

The detonation throws them all back, and Medusa winces as she goes sailing through the air, raising her arms to protect herself as best as she can. "Vector Storm!" The snakes cover her again, all while one of the snake tattoos come to life, growing larger as it slides out of her arm and knocks her off to the side before it too is blasted aside. Poor Crona has a far rougher time being right next to Eidolon, crying out in pain as they are blasted back along with what used to be the top floor of the building. The meister sails through the air towards the next roof top, landing rather roughly and panting. Wait, they are still breathing? And covered by black blood that slowly seeps back into their back. "Ow ow ow ooooow...!" At that same moment Ragnarok protrudes from their back, hitting Crona over the head. "Be grateful, you little brat! I saved your sorry little ass, and now you totally owe me dessert for two months!" he says. Too bad for him that Crona seems to be out of it right now.

The witch herself is also injured, even with her snake taking most of the attack. Her landing is far less rough as the snake drops her off and she steps down on the same roof as Crona. She's bleeding from her arms and legs, with several cuts here and there. Though there's still a smirk crossing her lips. Well, Tesla /did/ want destruction, so this can be considered a success, right?

Tomoe has posed:
Standing if you could call it that is what she's doing but at this point they got Legend out. It's something but it's not what she'd hoped she isn't going to forget anyone who had a hand in this. Tomoe just taken too much her HP bar's out and she hits the ground exploding into a glowing mote of red fire.

HK-47 (754) has posed:
Watching as the digital-construct avatar finally collapses to his flamethrower, the droid half-stands, half-teeters as his internal chassis creaks from the damage. It was a tougher battle then he expected - the damage to his chest plate was substantial.

If that had been his head...

Taking a moment to consider the idea that he could have actually been taken offline from that attack, the droid considers his situation. For a moment, HK considers perusing the last target and enacting combat protocols. It was the last one standing after all, and if he fell, they could slay what was left of the downed opposition easily.

But... at the same time, the droid knew it was statistically improbably at this stage. the new organic was fresh to the battle and had not engaged them. His reserves were untapped - whereas HK had lost his rifle and his only means of killing his targets from a distance. And by the time he made his way off the building and to the ground, emergency response forces from this world would already be bearing down on them. And with the other Confederates retreating - most of them too injured or depleted to do much at this stage against fresh reinforcements anyway - HK would be alone against them.

Perhaps if he were at full strength he would be more confident... but with his chassis damaged and his rifle destroyed, the odds were firmly against him.

Still... that didn't mean the droid couldn't give one last farewell.

Raising his arm, the droid takes aim and fires one last round - a corrosive dart filled with potent acid - at Defiant. Nowhere near as lethal as his rifle and unlikely to kill so much as leave prominent burns on his armor - in fact there wasn't even a guarantee the dart would hit his opponent at this range... but the droid felt inclined to not leave without making sure /every/ enemy combatant suffered at least some form of damage.

After all, it seemed unfair to have killed or crippled every other enemy and simply leave the last one unmarred, now didn't it? At least this way the meatbag could feel he was at least apart of the battle... even if he /was/ ultimately too late to do much.

This is the droid's last shot as he pulls for the emergency exits, leaving the destroyed city-block behind him.
