Red Saber (880) has posed:
"Ladies and gentlemen! The time has come once again! For two souls hailing from the myriad universes to clash in a fated duel to decide who will stand under heaven! I am your glorious, beautiful announcer for this final bout in the B bracket of the World Martial Arts Tourament, Red Saber!"

Saber stood, arm outstretched and the mic held close in her other hand. "Now! Let us introduce our combatants for this last bout! The Female Firestorm! The Master of Whatever Works! Makooooooo Mankanshokuuuuu! And her opponent! The Brilliant Doctor! The Courageous Soul! Dr. Franken Stein! The introductions have been made! The crowd is waiting! The myriad universes are waiting! /I/ am waiting!"

"By my will, for final time; Engage!"

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
The final round for Bracket B of the World Martial Arts Tournament. There's still one more match to have to determine who takes third place, but two new-comers to the tournament have made it to this fight, right here, to determine who will be the CHAMPION! Mako Mankanshoku and Franken Stein, in the stadium, with the stands packed so tightly that there's even people who have found various methods of watching from mid-air (such as by jetpacks or hiring someone who can fly to carry them for the entire match or whatever). Stein has eschewed his lab coat this time, and the sweater underneath. In place of such are a patchwork, sleeveless top that seems to be stitched into his skin. He stands in the ring, cranking a screw that goes right through his head periodically as he tries to focus.

This tournament has yielded all manner of data. Very interesting stuff. He'd like to go study it now. He thinks he has an adequate sample. Here he is at the final round, facing an opponent who has demonstrated quite unusual abilities centered upon a garment not unlike a Demon Weapon. She has made a big splash in the tournament, and should be someone Stein wants to study as well! But for some reason... His head just won't clear up. Creak. Creak. Creak. "It's no good..." he mutters. "I'm losing interest."

Not losing interest in Mako. She's VERY interesting. But the possibility he might 'win' and become champion doesn't interest him. Becoming champion won't give him anything to study. Losing here, and seeing how much everyone he has faced improves next year would be a better option. "But of course..."

As Red Saber begins to announce the combatants in such an energetic manner, identifying them and describing their exploits in flowery speech, Stein sighs a bit, lowers his hand from the screw and steels himself. Well, how can he disappoint after an introduction like that? He brings one foot down HARD on the arena floor, cracking a tile beneath his foot, as he sinks into a fighting stance.

"...If I don't make my opponent show me all of what she can do, I won't have the data to see how strong she is the next time we fight~!" Regardless of Stein's interest in being champion, it seems he still has plenty of enthusiasm for the fight itself. This isn't going to be a lackluster battle.

Lenses of eyeglasses opaque, a cheerful smile on his face, Stein waits until his opponent is before him and then calls out, "Mako-san! Do your best, okay?"

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
The Final Round! A slender young woman steps into the ring opposite of the good doctor, carrying a small suitcase. Eyes closed with a pleased look on her face, she comes to a stop in the corner designated for the Fight Club President, and yet, her manner of dress, demeanor, and face all tell the truth: This is not Mankanshoku Mako. Though the resemblance is quite close--

"I'm sorry~," Mankanshoku Sukuyo states with a bow, "My daughter will be a teensy bit late~. Please wait patiently!"

It's only a few moments, honestly. Mrs. Mankanshoku turns where she stands, looking over her shoulder into the sky with a little 'hmm' sound, "What a lovely night for a tournament bout..." Turning back, she lifts a hand to cup her cheek, "Ah, here she comes. Please do your best~!"

The Challenger's arrival is, much like everything else she's done in the World Martial Arts Tournament, completely unorthodox. She sails into the ring on a plume of smoke, as if fired from a cannon some great distance away, arms flailing and screaming the whole way. In the ring, Sukuyo grips the suitcase in both hands and swings it up, neatly intercepting the airborne student in an explosion of dust and crimson Life Fiber fragments.

The entire arena shudders with the resulting impact of the girl slamming into it. When the dust clears, Mako is fully dressed in her Goku Uniform, crimson lines dancing around the insides of her coat and hat, which she adjusts with one hand. The clover stuck between her teeth bounces upward, and she turns to flash a thumbs-up at her mom, already scurrying out of the danger zone.

Returning her attention to her far more intelligent foe, Mako's face is consumed by a big, warm smile, "Yeah! You do your best, too, mister! 'cuz I know you won't go easy on me, I won't be pulling my punches either!"

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
It had been interesting, of course. While it was no secret that Stein was the strongest meister from Shibusen, to think he would make it this far in the WMAT his very first year...

The Confederate witch is sitting among the audience today, though she's still wearing her white medical coat and with a first aid kit resting in her lap. Next to her sits Crona, who's currently trying to stop Ragnarok from taking all their popcorn.

"Come on, Crona! Don't be so damn stingy!"

"But if we eat it all for now, then we won't have anything later! And if my stomach begins rumbling during the fight, I... I don't know how to deal with that! People will be staring!" poor Crona laments, extending their arm to the other side.

Not more than they are doing right now, probably.

Either way, Medusa's attention is on the two fighters as they enter the ring, ignoring her child's pitiful wails as Ragnarok snatches the bucket of popcorn. There's a sinister smirk playing at her lips, and she keeps quiet as the fighters greet one another. This fight will be rather interesting no matter who wins. Though of course, she can't help but be biased.

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
Stein's brief encounter with Mako's mom has him just standing there in his fighting stance. Casually waiting. "Ah, I see. I'll just stay like this then for when she shows up." The fact Medusa and Crona and Ragnarok are all in the audience escapes Stein's notice for the moment due to his generally foggy mental state, but when he has to wait for Mako to arrive he turns his head to scan the audience. Marie Mjolnir is also here somewhere, though not Spirit. The latter's stomach got turned by the last match he attended.

When Mako arrives in a crash and returns his encouragement, he smiles a bit wider, and yet more thinly. A semi-creepy black-mouthed smile as his face goes into deep shadow dramatically. "Really? You don't want me to hold back at all?" No, Stein. No. He settles himself and rises into a standing position before saying, "Well, we'll see how it goes." Then he runs towards Mako, keeping his pace rather measured, and his arms loose at his sides like a ninja, before trying to close the distance with his opponent and lash out with a kick that seems to be aimed at the side of Mako's head, but instead travels past, bends at the knee, and then kicks back the other direction, trying to drive his heel into the Fight Club President's cheek as though stomping on her face.

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
"Wow," Mako remarks, lifting a finger to her chin, "Actually you kinda remind me of one of the Student Council guys, 'cept a bit more of a creeper." That same hand reaches up to her hat, tugging the brim to one side at a jaunty angle that leaves only one of her eyes visible from the front, "Ah well! It's nice to meet you, so let's fight now--"

    DONK

Stein's foot striking the side of Mako's head makes a hollow and entirely unsatisfying noise, not unlike striking a coconut. Though she does jerk away from the impact, planting a foot down to keep herself upright. That grin, briefly interrupted, returns, "--All right!"

Legs bending briefly, Mako hurls herself forward in a swift leap. The back leg, previously thrown out for balance, now swings forward in a sweeping motion that throws Mako's entire body into a spin, leading with the crimson spiked teeth of her geta sandals.

Whether she lands the blow or not, when Mako lands, it's on all fours, braking herself with a shower of sparks from her sandals before she hops back to her feet.

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
Stein raises an arm to block the attack at the ankle, keeping the majority of the dangerous footwear from hitting him, but the strength of the blow combined with the toes of Mako's foot still have an impact. He does note the presence of those spikes, as though in slow-motion, analyzing the weapons his foe uses. He'll have to be careful of those in the future. As it is, even being tagged by the tip of the kick was painful. A full-out blow could be dangerous.

As Mako follows through, spins, lands on all fours, and is hopping up to land on her feet, Stein is already there in front of her, a shadow with gray hair, and eyes unseen beyond glowing lenses. He lashes out with a punch aimed at Mako's midsection, and then a quick kick aimed at her chin, attempting to sending her spinning in place in mid-air as though somersaulting in zero-gravity.

He's still not committing full-strength to any attacks. Not until he knows more about his opponent, though he of course has heard reports of her abilities and has observed her fights when he had the chance. She seems to be quite adaptable and unpredictable. For Stein, whose only real combat weakness is that his attacks become easier to read over time, holding out too long could prove to be bad for him...

But the longer he makes the fight take, the more he'll have time to study this opponent!

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
With Stein suddenly dashing up into her face, Mako leans back suddenly, "--Hey!" The hand that goes towards her middle is deflected with both of her arms, forming an x-shape that forces the blow down and burns out most of its momentum before it can land. The kick catches her more off guard, tagging her chin and knocking her head back. Staggering back a step, Mako recovers, swinging herself into a stance with her fists raised in a posture she must have seen in a movie once.

"I get it now! You're a brawler like me! This'll be more fun than I thought!"

Kicking off, Mako lunges that pace and a half, closing distance on Stein with her hands held low. When she plants one foot down, the other raises at a sharp angle, then slams down towards her opponent's leading foot with enough force to shatter the stone stadium floor.

In the same motion, Mako sweeps her right hand up, golden knuckleduster gleaming in the stadium lights as she aims a punch straight at his chin in a rolling uppercut, "Ey~!"

Red Saber (880) has posed:
"And they begin! Sir Stein opens with a fierce blow! It lands! ...But Lady Mako weathers it like a true warrior! Is her head made of steel!? Perhaps it is! Perhaps it is not! She answers with her own combination of kicks!" Saber sweeps an arm outwards dramatically as she gives the play by play

"Sir Stein defends, deterring a majority of the damage! It is clear that this man has seen combat aplenty! He surges forward with another combination of blows! But Lady Mako is prepared this time! She manages to lessen the damage before striking back with her own pair of strikes! At first glance, these two opponents appear to fight quite similarly, but we shall discover the differences as the match progresses!"

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
Mako's foot slams down on one of Stein's, sending cracks radiating outwards through the tiles beneath it. He felt the bones in the foot bend, and maybe a toe break. It hurts quite a bit, of course, and that's the bones. The skin is probably going to be bruised and swollen all to hell after this fight. The punch lashing out at Stein's chin though... He bends over backwards, doing a handstand with one foot underneath Mako's, spikes driven into it. The shockwave of force from her punch shattered the lenses of Stein's glasses. His free foot shoots upwards at Mako's chin a second time, using her own position on his other to stretch his leg further than it normally would go. And given that he seems to be pretty flexible, pretty tall, and pretty strong, that means there's a lot of force behind the blow upon a location previously struck. A small static electrical shock may even *pop* from the tip of his foot if it makes a connection!

Whether Mako gets off Stein's foot or not, the mad scientist realizes that more than just his glasses were damaged by the shockwave of that punch. His nose has started bleeding as well. So Mako is strong enough that even a blow that doesn't fully connect can deal internal damage, huh? Very interesting!

Their fighting styles really DO bear a lot of similarities.

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
    DONK

There's that unsatisfying noise again, when Stein's foot impacts Mako's face almost square on. There seems to be little injury, but she does take a step back to keep from falling over, mercifully releasing the taller man's foot from her spiked toe-slam. Re-balanced, she digs her hand into her coat-cape and then sweeps it out, twirling a surprisingly large object about her wrist. When her hand closes to halt the spin, its true nature is revealed.

    A folding metal chair.

Gripping the chair with both hands, Mako swings it up over her head and then brings it down with enough force that her feet actually leave the ground, eyes squeezed shut, mouth open in her characteristic smile, "Bam!"

Red Saber (880) has posed:
"A spirited exchange! These two fighters are showing us just what it truly means to stand on that hallowed ground!" Saber exclaims, holding the mic with both hands. "Lady Mako's assault finds some purchase, but Sir Stein manages to get away. Not without some damage however! He counters! A swift kick! It does not appear to have done much damage, but it does the job of freeing him from her grasp!"

"But what is this? Lady Mako is doing it again! She has just pulled a chair from her cape! And she's swinging it! Am I watching the World Wrestling Association, or the World Martial Arts Tournament!?"

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
Saber's encouragement and dramatic commentary throughout the match has actually contributed to keeping Stein's mood stable a bit. The upbeat nature of it (and the presence of Marie) is preventing him from slipping like he did against Genghis Rex (perhaps to the displeasure of a certain witch). Well, that and self control. He knows he can't go into a murder frenzy in a tournament match. He is in a relatively better place than he was several weeks ago, in terms of mental state. But the feel of his body being torn up, the sight of his own blood pooling on the tournament floor as he flips away after Mako releases his foot, are starting to have an effect.

Mako may be unsatisfying to hit in the head, but maybe that's for the best. If he's not getting the enjoyment of hurting her, he won't be tempted to hurt her even more.

The production of a folding metal chair from within his opponent's coat, and the wielding of such as a weapon, however, also keeps him interested in the battle. It's that unpredictability that had him deciding to go through with the match instead of forfeiting. An opponent like this is too good an opportunity to pass up!

He takes the crushing blow to the shoulder and upper arm, his attempt to fend the attack off unsuccessful, and retaliates by thrusting his other hand forward and trying to send an electrical shock into his opponent's belly, driving his Soul Wavelength into her. If the attack hits, the blow may be fierce enough to cause a shockwave to erupt from the opposite side of Mako and shatter the tiles immediately behind her. If it misses... A whole lot more tiles are going to be damaged without the other fighter's body to take the brunt of the attack!

"You're exactly as interesting as I was hoping you'd be," Stein comments calmly. But there's still a smirking smile on his face. He's having fun.

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
The chair blow is deflected and Mako finds herself in a very vulnerable position! There's scarcely enough time for her to make a surprised squawk before Stein's hand hits her midsection. Electricity shoots out not just through her limbs but also through her Uniform, jerking the outfit into jagged angles before the shockwave blasts out behind her, shattering tiles and sending the girl tumbling. She rights herself after a few yards, smoldering as she skids to a stop, "Wow, okay! Still kinda creepin'!"

Rising to her feet, Mako flips a baseball bat out of her coat and snaps it forward, its nail-studs glittering in the stadium lighting, "Got me pretty good there! Gonna return the favor!" Her feet dig in, hurling up stone behind her as she lunges back in close, both hands gripping the bat as she sweeps it in an upward swing. However, she suddenly stops herself before making any contact.

To either side, Mako's jacket sleeves sprout out big, cartoony white gloves. The fingers flex, making popping noises. Completing her feint, Mako dips back a step while the meaty sleeve-hands of hers clap together around Stein from both sides with a slap that resounds throughout the stadium.

Red Saber (880) has posed:
"Oho! So this is what Sir Stein was up to all this time! He was preparing for this! A brilliant strike of surging lightning! Lady Mako is sent tumbling back! But she recovers in short order!" Saber leans back in her chair, smiling in an amused manner at the following proceedings. "Ah! I have seen this before! Lady Mako's sleeves once again take on a life of their own! Sprouting mysterious hands, they aim to clap around her opponent! How will he respond!?"

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
Stein is popping his dislocated shoulder back into place as Mako complains about him 'creepin'. "What? All I want to do is cut things into little pieces to find out how they work. Is that so wrong?" He makes a 'come on' gesture with the newly-functionality-restored arm, and a sort of unstable mocking expression. "Though it's pretty beating up a kid like you too!"

Okay, yes, he is kind of creepy at times.

When Mako comes at him with a spiked baseball bat, he grins widely and tries to prepare himself to roll with the attack or maybe even to counter it! But he unexpectedly gets smashed between two giant hands that remind him of Lord Death's. The impact is significant, and the cracked arena floor becomes even MORE trashed as a result. The two hands have slammed tight around Mako's opponent... Trying to squash him like a bug! Could that have ended the battle!?

A hand forces its way out of the space between the two hands, like a nightmare monster tearing out of a wall, and attempts to seize Mako by the throat and squeeze down HARD. If it succeeds, even if the hold is broken, there may be some breathing difficulties in Mako's future. Stein's glasses are completely shattered and crumble in pieces to the ground as he tries to pull himself out, with blood streaming from the corners of his mouth and from a cut on his forehead where his own broken glasses damaged him when they were stabbed into his face by the crushing hands on either side.

"Keep struggling. We aren't done here yet." he insists, a bit less light-heartedly.

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
As Stein forces Mako's gloves apart, she wrenches them suddenly away from him. This doesn't keep him from getting his hands on her, though, and he has a good opportunity to see that, despite her strength and the solid way she's been taking punches, the girl is surprisingly light. She drops her bat, hands going to his wrists and doing her best to prevent being choked out of the match. There's a brief, worried look on her face. After a moment or two, her grin returns.

    "You're pretty serious!"

This is where the average hero would go 'Time for me to be serious, too', but Mako is not an average hero. She's arguably not even a hero! Also Stein is right where most of Mako's opponents have not wanted to be.

Hips shifting, Mako swings her legs back. Her sleeve-hands plant down, pushing her forward while she swings both legs up, between Stein's outstretched arms and straight at his face with the spikes on the ends of her geta, "Ey~!"

Red Saber (880) has posed:
"It appears that these two fighters are approaching the high point. Sir Stein appears to be taking things to the next level! ...As is Lady Mako! Their exchange awes the crowd once again! But do not lose hold of your drinks, this bout is far from finished! I have a hunch that we will be seeing some grand techniques soon!"

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
Mako stomps into Stein's face with a savaged spiked-sandal attack! He is hurled across the wrong, sent tumbling end over end before finally coming to a stop when he plants his fingers into one of the tiles cracked earlier on in the battle, shattering his fingernails bloodily. He slowly gets up to a kneeling position. And then he pries one of those tiles up behind his back and asks in a completely bland tone, with the imprint of Mako's foot bloodily marking where it hit his face, "Would it help if I smiled more?" Then he slams the tile into the ground, sending several other broken ones into the air in a veritable wall of masonry.

He then starts rapidly striking these with electrically-charged punches and kicks, hurling electrified rock shards at his opponent in a barrage!

He might not be carrying weapons, hidden or otherwise, but his mind is a weapon all its own. And if fighting close up against a fellow melee specialist isn't making much head-way maybe throwing electrified rocks will have an impact!

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
Electrified rocks do have an impact! As it turns out, they have several impacts. Mako slams her sleeve-hands down on either side to anchor herself, raising her hands up to shield her face with her forearms. Chips of stone, blood, and motes of damaged Life Fiber shear off at various angles as she's struck, pushed back further and further, though her gloved sleeve-hands remain solidly planted, the sleeves growing longer and longer as they stretch out.

Lips curling into a grin, Mako's clover flicks upward to reflect it. There's a snapping sound, her sleeves returning to regular length and yanking the girl forward amidst the maelstrom. Shielding herself in-flight with one hand and one sleeve-glove, she draws the other two back, winding up both fist and sleeve-fist.

Once Mako is in range, she swings forward with both her hand, armored by the golden starburst knuckleduster she wears, as well as the huge white gloved hand protruding from her empty coat sleeve, "Eeey~yah!"

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
Mako's lunging super punch smashes Stein very hard, slamming him down into the arena floor (and without any of those nice soft stone tiles to break his fall!). He feels some ribs crack, and coughs out some blood onto the ground. But despite the pain, despite the damage he's taking from Mako's fearsome blows and unpredictable techniques, it seems he's still not down for the count. And may even still be enjoying the fight! He tries to grab both of Mako's ankles with his hands if she's still within range, and simply blasts his Soul Wavelength into her, seeking to electrocute her even worse than he did earlier!

Gruesome bleeding from the eyes, nose, and mouth is a common side-effect, but it looks worse than it actually is. Usually. Of course, with Mako's superhuman durability and speed, maybe she'll avoid even that!

Stein has nothing to say at this juncture, it seems... His face is even still down in the broken concrete as he launches his attack! Maybe Mako has done even more damage to him than it seemed like!

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
The Fight Club President flips off from her initial impact, hitting the ground in a crouch without resorting to a three-pointed stance. Her sleeve-hands slam down on either side, and as she stands up it's the fingers on her right sleeve that Stein actually grabs on to-- the price of not watching what you're grabbing at. Life Fibers are a lot less conductive to electricity, unless specifically stitched to do so (Ask Imato Kazuka, president of the Electronics club!)

The sleeve sparks, though refuses to convey the charge completely into the girl wearing the Uniform, instead just sparking and smoldering until she wrenches it away from Stein's grabby hands. The fingers flex, charred, but still servicable. Hunching forward, Mako reaches both sleeves back behind her, slamming the fingers into the arena's stone slab floor. Hunching forward, she wrenches, ripping one of the huge square stone blocks free and hauling it up over her head. Swinging this down, Mako attempts to simply smash Stein under a large, cube-shaped boulder.

    But that's not it!

Jumping up, Mako plants her feet on the stone and thrusts out her arms, then hunkers down and starts beating the stone until it breaks apart, using her fists as well as her sleeve gloves-- "Ey ey ey ey ey~!"

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
As Mako smashes Stein with a boulder where he lies and then pummels the boulder with many forceful punches, creating a pile of rubble all around the fallen scientist, it sends up a huge cloud of pulverized stone. There doesn't appear to be any further attacks coming her way immediately... Many long moments pass, and finally Dr. Franken Stein stands up, clothing tattered, skin bruised, bloodied, dirty, and looking at Mako with dull, gray eyes once the cloud has cleared. He's definitely hurting, and he doesn't look like he's in very good condition. But he doesn't look defeated either.

"I think I almost have all of the data I need for now. One last push." Then he sinks down into a fighting stance once again, taking in a deep breath and then letting it out slowly. When he attacks next, it's a lunging charge with him trying to strike Mako three times in quick succession with the same fist. A pummeling blow that has his hand moving in a blur and sending surging blasts of golden electricity forward with each strike!

    "Consecutive Soul Menace Three-Fold!"

Red Saber (880) has posed:
"As I predicted, the battle is escalating! Lady Mako and Sir Stein refuse to give ground! They clash time and time again, their wills struggling to decide who will come out on top! Who will it be? I believe either competitor can win at this juncture!" Saber stands, arm swept outwards as she works herself up.

"Sir Stein attempts the same lightning technique previously used! But Lady Mako has already seen it once! It is less effective! She counters with....amazing! She flipped over a slab of stone! She's unleashing a furious flurry of fists! Is this finally it!?"

     Pause.

"No! No it is not! Sir Stein remains here with us! He charges forward with a skillful array of strikes! Radiant, golden lightning surges forth! Truly a spectacle befitting this last bout! How will this end!?"

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
The Fight Club President isn't looking super great either! As far as her WMAT fights go, though, the bruises and blood and damaged Life-Fibers are par for the course. She also fully expected Stein to get up after that, and after hopping away, presents her side, her left-hand sleeve glove raising and flexing the fingers in a 'come on' gesture. Her face, though scuffed and bruised, is filled with a big, broad smile.

When Stein charges in, Mako skids back, intercepting his incoming strikes with her sleeve. Again, the electricity ruptures Life Fibers with bursts of golden and crimson light, but it fails to conduct to her body. Her right hand dips into her coat, hauling out another nail-studded golden baseball bat with a swirling flourish, "That's what the Student Council guy said too!"

Using both hands, Mako swings her bat in a sharp upward swing. Just like before, her sleeve-hands come in, but they quite suddenly stop rather than smashing into Stein. This time, the /sleeves/ are the feint and Mako's bat swing goes right for the gaunt man's chin, "Eeey~!"

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
Mako hits Stein with a powerful bat strike that sends him flying up into the air, and then crashing back down after several seconds, trailing blood the whole way. He lands heavily, but after several long moments... Again, he gets right back up. What's he made out of!? He takes the time to spit out a huge wad of blood off to the side, and then focuses on Mako. His face hurts pretty bad, and he's injured all over, internally as well. But he knows his body's limits. And he can still fight. But chances of victory are slim. Which is fine with him.

"Hmmm... I think I've seen enough. You have some very interesting abilities. You're probably going to keep getting stronger and stronger from here on out. Don't become complacent." he offers. Then he roots around in a pants pocket and pulls out a pack of cigarettes. He takes one out of the carton, sticks it in his mouth, and lights it with a spark of electricity off his finger tips.

After taking a long drag, and blowing it off to the side in the shape of a skull, he smiles and says, "You win. I give up."

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
Mako holds the pose on the backswing of her bat attack for a second, looking very much like a baseball card photo, before she swings her bat back down and switches to a one-handed weilding, prepared for the next attack. When Stein lurches to his feet and speaks, though, Mako's own stance loosens with a blink.

    "Ahh..?"

She brings her bat down, propping it by her feet while she scratches the back of her head with one hand, ignoring the scratches and bruises. Her sleeve-hands reach out across the arena, fetching her other discarded weapons and slipping them back into her coat where they came from. "You sure?" This feels weird, that's two foes in a row who gave up before the knockout!

Head tilting, Mako shoves her bat back into her coat as well, then pulls out the neckline of her top. With her other hand, she hauls out a bento far too large to have any business being there, setting it on an outstretched sleevepalm. Using her regular hands, she removes the lid, then pulls off the top layer. This is offered towards Stein, "Well, at least eat something so you'll get better faster!"

The contents would be cheap rice and fried croquettes of questionable ingredients. It's best not to ask.

In the stands, the Mankanshoku family collectively waves their arms in cheers amidst the audience going crazy. Including Sukuyo, who somehow got out of the ring before the carnage started.

Red Saber (880) has posed:
     "......"

     Silence.

     The audience said nothing.

     Saber said nothing.

A leaf fluttered on the breeze.

"Did I just hear that right? Of course I did, I am perfect after all! Ladies and gentlemen, it appears that Sir Stein has decided not to continue fighting! In that case..."

She gestured to Mako's position from where she stood. "I present to you, your new, well deserving, perhaps not quite radiant at this moment, but still spirited, World Martial Arts Tournament Champion of Bracket B....The Female Firestorm! Master of Whatever Works! Makoooooo Mankaaaaaanshoku!"

"It has been a fierce series of battles, much blood was lost, many tears were shed, and many bodies were broken, but nonetheless, their drive and their spirit paved the way for this day today! Let us not forget the sacrifice of those brave fighters who have fallen, valiantly reaching out to grasp victory in their own two hands!"

Raising her arm upward, she continued. "I am your radiant, beautiful announcer, her Imperial Majesty, Red Saber! And I proclaim; this is the end! Feel honored for having witnessed this match and my flawless voice! Let us meet again another time! When the myriad universes decide that the time to clash souls, swords, and fists has come! Farewell!"

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
Stein smiles, squints his eyes and gratefully accepts the bento box. "Why thank you. And yes, you've shown yourself to be a fierce fighter. It wouldn't do for me to get in your way if you're already this strong. I look forward to seeing you continue to succeed." He'll eat the food later. When he has gotten actual medical treatment. He will probably make the unfortunate decision to dissect the ingredients. "I truly enjoyed our battle."

Stein then raises a hand, waving to the audience (even the witches and demon weapons and Kishin-egg-children), and to their ABSOLUTELY PERFECT commentator, before turning and walking away with his hand still up above his head.

Boy does he hurt. But it was fun and he got plenty of data to peruse while he's recovering. And he meant what he said. Mako has a long life ahead of her, full of potential to keep growing stronger. Just like his students, he should only be in their way when it will help them advance.

He sucks in another pull of his cigarette and lets it out as he steps off the stage and heads for the competitor's entrance. He can hear Marie calling out to him already.

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
As one of the competitors gives the victory away to the other, Medusa Gorgon is already rising from her seat, smiling in amusement as she heads down the aisle, Crona following in her footsteps, leaving their empty popcorn bucket behind.

Of course she is there when Stein arrives at the entrance, giving him a smile that looks too warm to be real. After all, Stein should know Medusa better than that. "Too bad, Professor~" she croons. "There's always next year, hmm? For now, I would suggest you get yourself healed up. Unless you want me to assist you, that is." She does glance at Mako, offering a sly smile to the girl.

Franken Stein (848) has posed:
"Ah..." Stein says when Medusa appears before him, smiling warmly. He smiles back cheerfully and says, "Actually, I think Mako could use some medical aid." He holds up the bento box in his other hand. "I have this, so I'm fine. Thank you for the offer though~!"

Mako Mankanshoku (191) has posed:
With Stein wandering off, Mako pays it no mind, sitting down on the edge of the stadium platform with her half of the lunch. Producing her chopsticks, she starts shoveling the food into her mouth with an eagerness unmatched by many.

While she eats, her round-bodied father trots out, pursued by his wife-- now in a black and red nurse's outfit and toting a medical bag. While Mako eats, her family gathers around her, chattering excitedly. Seems like she's already well cared for.

Medusa Gorgon (22) has posed:
A chuckle leaves Medusa, and she glances at Mako as her parents head out to the girl. "It does seem she's already got help, I would say..." Behind her, Crona seems to cover, a bit hesitant to even look Stein in the eye. Ragnarok too sinks into the teenager's back, grumbling.

"If you do need assistance, I have a ward set up at Papaya hospital. Besides, there's a truce now. Even if I do want to do questionable things to you, this is hardly the time nor the place. It will have to wait until we cross paths in the field. Another day then, Professor~" With that the witch heads off, with her child following closely behind.
