Date of Scene: 21 December 2015
Location: Bar and Grill at the Edge of the Multiverse
Synopsis: Yari, Sanary, and Dorian meet up at the bar and grill!
Cast of Characters: 691, Sanary Rondel, 774

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Finally able to get up and about again, Yari has come to the Bar and Grill for some relaxation that's sorely needed. Seeing old friends that want to kill you puts you in a drinking mood! She waves to those she knows of the workers, and with a nod, she has her usual: fried lavashark on frenchbread with a kupo-nut beer to wash it down with. She's dressed in a light blue kimono today, sitting at the bar and eating like a woman starved. Her tail sways gently behind her. Nomf~

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary is practically acting as Yari's shadow today, sitting close by the Au Ra and keeping a close eye on the woman! Well, when she's not busy shovelling deep fried buffalo wings into her face. Also, she's shovelling deep fried buffalo wings into her face. Not the best combination, considering that she's wearing her usual white coat today. "Mrph... This was an awesome idea."

Dorian Pavus (774) has posed:
It's been Dorian's experience that the Bar and Grill accepts all types. So when making for the place, he's dressed in his usual-- leather armor with the white cloak over it-- and has that serpentine dragon-headed staff slung on his back. Dorian heads for the bar himself, sitting near Yari and Sanary. "A Ferelden ale, if you please," he asks the bartender. "I'm still amazed its made its way here, to be truthful."

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari Takane smiles to Sanary in between a big bite of sandwich! The woman shadowing her has been a comfort after that attack on her, Yari's paranoia doubled as of late. Dorian's entrance doesn't help, the ninja eyeing the man suspiciously with all that armor on. Then she shakes her head. Sigh.

"We both needed it. Thanks for coming, Sanary." She raises her beer!

A glance to Dorian again. Tail flick. "I've yet to find something they /don't/ carry. Whoever supplies them must be a miracle worker."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary lifted a mostly-clean hand in greeting as Dorian sat besides herself and Yari, her attention still mostly focused on polishing off one of the wings. SHe had to make sure all the meat was off the bones to really get her money's worth, after all! "Mmgh... Yeah, this place is great. All sorts of food, not having to go far to get it... Hell, I got here just going in and out of my room once because I didn't feel like going outside."

Truly an outstanding and model soldier.

"Heh... Not a problem, Yari. You know you can always crash at my place if you need to. I'm sure Souji'll understand."

Dorian Pavus (774) has posed:
"So I've noticed," Dorian comments. He'd heard the part before that, but it really isn't any of his business. "I have to wonder what kind of trade deal they've worked out." Here his voice takes on a slightly wry note. "And how much the Merchant's Guild was involved in it." Mumble mumble greedy dwarves grumble.

Sanary's comment of the place gets a chuckle. "That is quite an amazing feat of magic to get here, yes. I could think of many applications for that sort of thing." Though he's not above noticing that There seems to be an issue. Looking at Yari again, he asks, "Are you in some sort of trouble?"

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari facepalms. Reeeeach! Yari tickles one of those ears! "Good thing you saved that energy. You owe me another race through the Danger Room course." Grin! Oh the wonders of Fed technology and lethal training!

"I know where I'm sleeping tonight then!" Offer accepted!

To Dorian, she smiles. "Let's just say I met some old friends recently. They had issues to work out with me." Despite the smile, there's that look of seeing a ghost. This well might have been the 'should have been dead' old friends.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"I don't know how it works, but..." Sanary shrugs lightly. "Important thing is that it works, right? Just as long as we don't have to worry about-"

And then Sanary's caught in the tickle attack! She lets out an uncharacteristically high squeaking noise before slumping over at Yari, struggling to hold those buffalo wing sauce'd hands away from everyone! "Wha... A-already? But you should rest up, too. In case more... Uh. Old friends come and visit again." Her own expression darkens for a moment, then brightens a little too much almost immediately afterwards. "But one of 'em is staying over, so you'll get to see her again!"

Surely there's nothing weird about that. Turning back to Dorian, she looks him over quickly before raising an eyebrow and trying to regain some of her composure from that squeak earlier. "So! Uh. Haven't seen you around before. What's your... Thing?"

Dorian Pavus (774) has posed:
"Oh dear," Dorian replies, to the mention of 'meeting old friends'. "Yes, I can imagine. For what it's worth, I have some 'old friends' of that sort, too. I'm related to most of them in fact." He shakes his head. He doesn't mention Sanary's squeak; he understands when someone's trying to look like they TOTALLY DIDN'T DO THAT. "Ah. Getting ahead of myself again, I see." He offers the pair of them a polite bow of his head. "Dorian Pavus, Atlus mage of Tevinter. How do you do?"

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari Takane frown! "If I don't train, then I'll get weaker! I will not let my skills rust!" She huffs, a little stubborn for once. Nom!

But then she sighs a bit. "Though I suppose you're right. I'm still weak, and the poison hasn't completely left me." No words on her compatriot, she just grins viciously!

She finishes off her sandwich, then looks to Dorian! "My sympathies. I'm used to enemies, but when they're close, it's all the more frightening." Shudder.

Yari stands, and snaps a sharp salute.

"Ensign Yari Takane, Confederate Elite Forces. Honor and Glory, Mister Pavus!" Then she sits down. Beersip.

"I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Tevinter. Some form of magical academy?"

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Glad to hear we're not the only ones." Sanary laughs freely as Dorian spoke of his old friends, although the fact that he's related to them does draw another curious eyebrow raise. She doesn't mention anything about that, of course, but it's certianly something she makes a mental note of. "Sanary Rondel, healer and Captain of the Confederacy. I do... Uh. Good?"

She takes a moment, then clears her throat before that can get any weirder. "I'm doing alright. You?" It's at that moment that she finally remembers to wipe her hands off, although there's still a faint stinging from having eaten so many wings recently.

"Don't worry, Yari. You'll be back in training condition in no time. Just gotta make sure you eat enough until then!" Satisfied that her hands are clean, though, she follows up Yari's salute with one of her own. "An atlas is a... Map, right? So you... Cast really long range spells, then?"

Dorian Pavus (774) has posed:
"It can be hard when the people who are closest to you are the ones who want to put a knife in your back," Dorian replies, surprisingly kindly. As for Tevinter being an academy? Dorian shakes his head. "Tevinter is a country, where I was born," he replies. "There /are/ academies in Tevinter, though. In fact I was expelled from one of the best, when I was nine years old." Oooh! Bad boy!

Dorian chuckles a bit at Sanary's comment. "Altus, not atlas. It's... a rank. The Altus are direct descendants of the Somniari-- the Dreamers. The Somniari were the first mages in Tevinter, the first who could walk in the Fade without aid. They taught all of Thedas how to use magic."

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari smiles just a bit. "I suppose. Ugh. I just hate feeling useless. Not out improving myself. I have to catch up to /you/ after all!" Nose-poke! The ninja is feeling oddly playful today.

Then back to Dorian.

Yari mentally takes notes, the woman blinking. "Curious. Expelled? I assume you're not exactly the picture of an upright mage in your country?" There's a slight tease to it.

"Strange. Your magic comes from dreams?" She adds, before her comms go off.

"Nnn. Work calls. Sanary, see you tonight. Mister Dorian? A pleasure." A salute to the pair, and she's off after paying!

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Expelled? Got into a lot of trouble then, eh?" Sanary holds in another snicker at that, although there is a broad smirk on her face as she regards Dorian. "Well, you look like doing pretty well without 'em, so." He had to be. He had such a nicely trimmed moustache, after all! "Never heard of... Uh. Any of these names, though. They sound important! I just.. Uh. You know."

Clearing her throat again, the cleric nods at Yari and returns her salute as she leaves. "Later, Yari!" And then she's back to those chicken wings. She can't let them go to waste! " Sounds tough, teaching a whole... Something to use magic. What's this Fade, anyway? Some kinda... No man's land or something?"

Dorian Pavus (774) has posed:
Dorian gives a delightfully evil smirk. "Oh, Maker no," he responds. "I'm /anything/ but upstanding. I'm something of a pariah, in fact. That's not the only reason, mind you, but it was the first one. I just never looked back." That smirk is still there. At least until Yari makes to go. "Do take care, Miss Yari," he offers, as she heads off.

And then he turns his attention to Sanary. A chuckle, first. "Thedas is the name of my world," he offers helpfully. "My apologies. I do forget that there are other worlds that have never heard of the place before." He tilts his head. "The Fade is where magic comes from. Where spirits come from, as well. Some say that's where one's soul goes when he dies. So... the afterlife, maybe? The spirit realm? It's all of those. Though I admit, I'm no expert on the Fade. Mages... just have magic. It's in the blood. The Somniari taught magic by spreading their bloodline throughout the world, you see."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
It takes Sanary a moment to understand, but she does eventually figure out what Dorian means! "Heh... Well, if you're in need of work, I know a few places where you could find it pretty easily with that kind of talent." She doesn't follow it up with any kind of business card or... Anything, though. She hasn't done this sort of thing in person before!

Listening carefully to his explanation about the Fade, she nods slowly while polishing off another wing. Just how many of those things has she eaten already? "Ah, not a problem. Took me a while just to get used to people not knowing who Grima is. Hn... I've heard of a couple of names for the after-death thing, yeah. But yours sounds more like..." She pauses, tapping a finger on her chin (and then wiping it off). Like... Magic's powered by your ancestors' ghosts or something. But you can go there without being dead, too, so that's... You know if anyone ever tried living in there for a while?"

Dorian Pavus (774) has posed:
"I may take you up on that offer," Dorian replies. "I am, unfortunately, forced to live /so very far/ below my station thanks to leaving my home. At home I would have been a fat, happy, and powerful magister. Alas, I'm not welcome there at the moment. But yes. Work. I can give you my personal frequency, or you can contact me through the Syndicate channels."

And then Sanary mentions going into the Fade. Immediately Dorian shakes his head. "That would be extraordinarily unwise," Dorian replies. "The last people who tried to go into the Fade upset the Maker badly enough that He left Thedas entirely, got themselves turned into darkspawn, and started a wasting illness that no one can cure. Well, no one in my world, anyway. I shudder to think what other horrors would be released if someone tried again."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Heh. Good to hear~ Never hurts to have some extra mages around for missions or research." Sanary chuckles. "Kinda curious how your stuff would work with theirs, but... Yeah, I'll give you my own frequency, too. Worst case scenario, just ask around for Souji Murasame. He's got a good eye for talent." She grins just a little more at that. Surely she's not talking about herself? "And there's the Confederacy, too, although asking about that on the public band might get you some unwanted attention."

Listening to Dorian some more, she does eventually nod and stroke her chin slowly once she realizes how bad of an idea it would be to head into the Fade. "Huh... That's a pain. Maybe you'll find a cure somewhere out in the Multiverse, then.O r... Not, if you don't feel like it." She shrugs. She's not going to judge.

Instead, she'll finish off those chicken wings and finally get her hands clean enough to take a phone out! "Here's my info, too. You need a healer or someone to get hit with stuff, I'm your girl. Well... Unless it's helping the Union against the Confederacy." She laughs lightly." Bosses might not appreciate me doing that."

Dorian Pavus (774) has posed:
"So I hear," Dorian replies. "The Confederacy seems to be tagged with the 'bad guy' label, if I've seen correctly. So yes, that's liable to get all the wrong kinds of attention." A smirk. As for the Blight? That gets the smirk to fall. "I don't know that there /is/ a cure," he states. "It's not that I don't went one. On the contrary, I have a rather vested interested in hoping for one. We just don't udnerstand how it works. It corrupts all living beings-- people, animals, and plans all."

Dorian actually has a phone! An actual smartphone, like you can buy at the store. Nothing special about it, really. But given how he's so archaic in looks-- and possibly speech-- it seems out of place. Nonetheless, he works with the device well, and takes down Sanary's number. "Thank you, my dear," he offers as he puts the phone away. "Oh yes. And if your friend Yari has any more trouble with her 'old friends', don't hesitate to call me."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Just a label. I mean, yeah, we've got some members that do shady stuff to get as powerful as they are, but... Some of us are in it because we need that power to prevent even worse stuff." Sanary smirks, gesturing at herself once before leaning back in her seat and finishing off the rest of her drink.

After the exchange of info, the cleric nods while getting up from her seat. "Definitely. I don't think they'll be a problem any time soon, but I'll definitely give you a call if anything comes up. Be safe, Dorian." She snaps him a quick salute, then heads off with her coat in tow! It'd be so much more dramatic if it was actually windy inside the building.

     Somehow.
