Cast of Characters: N'raha Tia, 255

N'raha Tia has posed:
It is a very quiet morning in The Mist. In one of the eastern districts, on the beaches just outside his home, one particular Miq is resting his bottom on the sand, in the coolness of the winter, watching the tide roll out.
It is a far cry from last night, with the wild parties and the fireworks and everything. N'raha had NOT been taking part. Planning was afoot, and preperations of a different sort were being made.

But for now, in the calm before the literal storm... the pirate cat has a bottle of mild wine, and is working at it as he watches the waves crest and wash and smooth out the shore. A metaphor lies there somewhere, but he can't quite catch it.

Setsuko Kaminagi (255) has posed:
Watching the sun rise on a new year is always an experience to be savored; but speaking of the calm before the storm, on this particular New Year's Day, it almost looks as if it might not happen. A low cloud cover has rolled in over the adventurer's district known as Mist, as the first hints of morning light appear on the horizon, with a soft rumble in the skies above. It doesn't quite seem to promise rain, nor the fury oft attributed to the Lord of Levin, but it looms overhead, announcing itself with faint, distant thunder every so often. It's not surprising to have this kind of weather on the coast of Vylbrand, but at the same time, something feels... different.

"This seems like a pleasant place to live," Setsuko greets.

There's no warning. No sense of her arriving - with that massive, bonfire-like divine presence of hers, the more sensitive could probably feel her in Gridania all the way from the westernmost reaches of Thanalan. But here... no, her presence is there, but it's minimal. Simple, calm, radiant, still unmistakably divine, but somehow far more controlled. Less a bonfire than a simple beacon. And not announcing itself for miles around.

And her entire look has changed, as well. Gone are the black sleeveless top, gone are the grey pants, gone is the hair long on one side. It's now uniformly short, and she wears a formal-looking blue coat, with gold trim and spiked black shoulder pauldrons, over a more dressy pair of pants and boots. There's a new scar, too, from her forehead down across her right eye.

There's also a very large war horse standing behind her. Jet black, the size of Sleipnir - or possibly even larger. Huh.

N'raha Tia has posed:
There's a change in sensation about the Light Warrior too. As N'raha shifts a bit at the feeling of Setsuko coming up behind him and greeting him... there's no sudden jumping, no panic nothing like that. Those dark eartips flick a bit, and there's a fangy grin from Raha shifts a bit in place, a hand planting itself on his knee. "It is. The Admiral thought I ought to have a place to call my own... rather than just rooms in the Inn. Granted, I'm living in the city now, but." He chuckles quietly, and then looks up and back to the Goddess, the Eikon, the Primal...

And lets out a breath. Even with the new scar she's... still very handsome. A touch of pink in his eartips, and he coughs, holding out the wine bottle and offering up a spot on the sand next to him. "A year will make... lots of changes.

Setsuko Kaminagi (255) has posed:
"Sometimes, even a week will make those changes. Now and then, even a single night." The swordswoman moves carefully, sitting down on the sand beside N'raha, and reaches out to take the wine bottle. There's a quick drink, before she passes it back. "The changes seem to suit you well, though. There's steel in your eyes now." Not that he wasn't capable and determined before; but he's definitely grown as a fighter. "How have you been since the Multiverse... shifted?"

N'raha Tia has posed:
A light sigh from Raha, and he wilts at the words. "You have no idea. It wasn't a cataclysm, but it was close. Now the Primals are all riled up again and... Hnnn. Tired is how I'm feeling. Is that steel too?" The miq has the temerity to smile at least, as the horizon starts to shift away from the blackness of night. A faint glow starts to encroach, sliding the gloom of night away.
"...Highwind and Doc are gone doing... things. Which makes me the only Light Warrior around." Ears wilt. Raha sighs. "The city-states are at odds on how to handle things, and the Scions are stuck in the middle."

Setsuko Kaminagi (255) has posed:
Setsuko smiles faintly, looking out over the sea. Overhead, the clouds rumble softly again. "That's always the way, isn't it? Those in positions of power must look to their own first and foremost, and never have the same idea of what will work best. And those who seek to solve and settle things, have to deal with all of them." For a few moments she closes her eyes, while the horse behind the two of them snorts with impatience. "I wish that I could offer my help. But at the very least, I'm glad that my mere presence will no longer risk a Primal summoning, as I am now."

N'raha Tia has posed:
"Heh. Well. The Old Man's crystal is still in my possession. And I've got... well." Raha lifts the bottle to his lips, and murmurs. "I've got plans on how to get the other ones. If the city-states can't agree on dealing with the Primals... I'll do it for them."

A look to his 'senpai', and the Warrior murmurs. "Are you alright? You didn't give up your power, did you?"

Setsuko Kaminagi (255) has posed:
"Quite the opposite," Setsuko replies, turning to look at N'raha at last. For a moment, storms seem to dance in her eyes. Overhead, the clouds rumble again, and behind the two of them, that black warhorse whinnies, the sand around its feet crackling with tiny discharges of electricity.

She looks back out over the ocean, and continues, "There've been a few who referred to me as a goddess, over the years. They were wrong, when they said it. I was still half-mortal. Half-human. But if they were to say it now... it wouldn't be so inaccurate." She lets out a soft breath. "...If I remember the names of the Twelve correctly, I am now the Halone of my homeland."

N'raha Tia has posed:
...And N'raha lets out a low and slow breath.

The catman shifts a bit, unfolding his legs and moving to kneel instead, and then he lowers himself down in a bow. "Mmmmh, well. Congratulations to you... Halone." A smile as he raises up, and murmurs. "See, you're a Primal I don't mind... ah... submitting to. You at least taught me the Right Way to deal with my rage." A little wry smile, and the miqo'te scratches at his belly, the tunic lifting to show off new scars of his own.

Despite the clouds overhead, the light continues to grow with the impending dawn.

Setsuko Kaminagi (255) has posed:
"If you need a name to pray to, Kaminagi-no-Tachi Kiri-no-Musume is the proper long form of address," Setsuko replies, the name thrumming softly with signifigance. "Kiri-no-Musume will do. But..." The goddess develops a small smile. "'Setsuko' is still allowable when speaking as one friend to another. And I won't be turning my worshippers into mindless thralls, nor bleeding the land dry, either. My presence is natural to my world. More like Hydaelyn than the Primals."

She finally moves to stand, drawing another irritable noise from the horse - at whom she levels a simple, steel-eyed gaze. "Kuro-no-Tatsumaki. Patience. We'll go when it's time." The swordswoman sighs quietly, reaching into her pocket for something. "He is a fine, steadfast steed, but... unruly, at times. He listens to me only because I'm stronger than he is." The horse snorts again.

N'raha Tia has posed:
That.. at least, gets a pleased smile from Raha as he turns to face the horse, and Setsuko. "Kiri-no-Musume, then." He practices the name quietly, before hearing about the goddess's horse troubles. "Oh, well, that sounds familiar. Dogmeat only listens to me 'cause I'm the one that feeds him his greens." He glances past the shore-wall of the beach, up to his house, where a lime-green Chocobo can be seen, roosting quietly in a stable.

That said, he murmurs. "Not really sure I'll be doing much praying though. I get enough 'pray'-ing as it is." A grumble about busywork, and the Miq goes back to watching the shores, as the first rays of sun start to peek over the horizon.

And as it happens, the Miq's ears pin back, and he shudders quietly, going right back into that bow in the direction of the sun.

Setsuko Kaminagi (255) has posed:
As N'raha bows again, there's a soft jangle beside one ear - something being held close. A simple gold pendant, set with a gemstone of a pure, striking blue. The same shade as Setsuko's eyes. "A keepsake for you, N'raha Tia. This will grant you no special powers, but it has been touched by Storm and War. If you ever find yourself in the land known as Pugna, bearing this will mark you as a friend of both the country of Seiryuu and the Duchy of Bran. I cannot offer my aid to Eorzea anymore... but I can at least offer you well-wishes."

N'raha Tia has posed:
The catman lifts up, something... hazy passing his vision. The Echo? Maybe. But the gift gets a... a gasp. He quietly takes a hold of it, and looks up at Setsuko. A quiet, lion-like noise in his chest, and he murmurs. "No? Truely? I... you were a great... help." Ears droop for a moment, but then the political issues that would arise cross his mind, rapidly.

A click of fangs. "I suppose you can't, no." Raha sighs, and then rises up to his feet, quietly hanging the pendant around his neck. "I'll keep it close, Setsuko."

Setsuko Kaminagi (255) has posed:
The goddess's hand comes to rest on his shoulder, and she gives him a simple nod. "Be well, N'raha Tia. You have it in you to be great. Hydaelyn chose her champion well." And so, finally, she turns to step up beside Tatsumaki, and sling herself up into the ornate saddle on the horse's back. She gives the reins a flick, and the horse quickly reaches a gallop... that takes it right out over the surface of the water, where she soon veers south, and then her body grows hazy, indistinct, fading until it has disappeared entirely.

Up above, the clouds finally begin to recede, swiftly dispersing until there's a clear sky to greet the sunrise.
