The Punishing Typhoon
Date of Scene: 12 April 2017
Location: The Tapestry
Synopsis: A factory for making slave workers is being assaulted by a strange new heroine. Ish.
Cast of Characters: 336, 756, 1064, 265, 331, Gaonoir, 1104, 1097

Starless Night (336) has posed:
The city where this factory is producing the 'slave laborors' is... actually very very close. The factory is more on the outskirts of the city, close enough for general businesses near by but far enough away that for the most part, people can ignore what goes on there. Paladins or those who have stated they wish to defend the place from the expected 'terrorist' attack will get a nice little window-bearing lounge from which to look over the small yard outside. The rough metal fence around the factory says that there have been some security issues in the past, even though the current attitude of the population favors this whole setup.

There are armed guards, and as expected of a place that can manufacture 'people,' even if they aren't legally people, the guards have some pretty advanced weaponry! This isn't an army setup though... there are a number of guards but not a whole battle unit, even expecting trouble as they are. As night approaches, they're just getting MORE nervous.

Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
There's another group of people here! They're not belonging to any faction! They're the Pair of Protagonists, Shin Tokuyama and Velvet Crowe.

Shin is dragging his waifu by the bandaged arm and yanking her along, "I heard that there's gonna be some crazy shit going down here soon. Human rights, rebellions, probably some ideological speech-making. Could be a good chance for you to eat some douchebags with your arm and gain sick experience."

He grins as he yanks Velvet along.

Yuko Minami (1064) has posed:
Defending an innocent factory seemed like it would be the perfect way for Yuko to build up some real credibility in the Multiverse. THe law must be upheld, after all, and what better way to look good while doing it than if it's against terrorists?

For starters, it would probably look better if the factory wasn't also producing artificial slaves. Still, she's agreed to help protect the place, and the rookie God Eater is waiting in the provided lounge area with her stupidly oversized anime scythe resting held down while she watches the yard from above.

"This is going to be tricky..." She murmurs to herself, actually looking troubled for once instead of wearing that usual cheery smile.

Rabby (265) has posed:
Anti-rebellion mental inhibitors.

To some, it might seem like something totally bizarre or far-fetched, but for Rabby, it could prove to be quite useful for ensuring that people don't try to revolt or plan takeovers or things like that. It's one of those things that sounds so crazy they just might work. But whether or not it actually works has yet to be seen. That's why Rabby is in attendance here. Or rather, she's here, but not exactly in attendance.

Instead, she's spotted a nearby vantage point to take cover with and is watching far from a distance with her binoculars. "Looks like it's well protected. I can't just say I'm here for a tour of the place. If the League is going to get this stuff, I'll have to find another way in..."

Himei (331) has posed:
"Don't I know it," Himei agrees, leaning back and looking pretty casual considering. She's not happy about being called to defend this place either... but it is her job. It's making her more thoughtful than usual. Not that many could tell, given her tendency toward brooding. She is perhaps paying less attention to the yard than she otherwise would, given the whole situation with slaves and stuff.

Still, she's armed with a taser AND a pistol, and dressed all casual-like. She's also keeping an eye out for exits so she knows where best to evacuate to so she can get to any place in the factory. In front of her is a rough map of the place, figuring that the rebels will want to bust into where the current 'crop' is being kept.

Gaonoir has posed:
The factory's location on the outer edge of town actually worked in their favor, as it was close enough to stake out the perimeter from atop one of the other nearby buildings.

Not that Gaonoir cared for waiting, but he was trying to let his Tamer do her thing with investigating before he goes flying off into a heap of trouble before the objective is even in sight. Though that doesn't mean he's being patient, as the tapping of a bionic paw would start, stop, and start again.

Meanwhile Erika was perched at the edge of the roof, using binoculars to look over the factory yard. "Those guards look pretty well armed. You'll probably have to fight through no matter what."

"Fine with me," Gaonoir replied, cracking the knuckles of his metallic gauntlets.

Velvet Crowe (1104) has posed:
Velvet still dislikes the term 'protagonist'. She doesn't feel like one, and really the way Shin treats everything in narratives is... offputting, to say the least. On the other hand it balances out her moody attitude pretty well.

People who've seen Velvet before might be interested to notice her outfit has been repaired. There's not a tatter left on it, courtesy of Tomoyo. It's still a bit revealing around the chest, but the coat is now stylish as hell, she's wearing proper shorts and thigh-highs, and that red top under the coat at least feels like it's intentionally looking like that, not ripped apart.

"You don't seem bothered in the slightest you're offering me to just murder people as I see fit. I'm not going to turn it down if I feel like it, but what did you hear exactly and where are we?"

Samantha Middleton (1097) has posed:
Fido is not here today. For some reason, Samantha is without her power armor. She HAS carried two turrets along with her, and after making sure Gaonoir was around she's going to be following along with Shin and Velvet. "Hey guys. He heard it from me. We're going to bust open a factory making slaves, sound fun?"

Also in her satchel she has some explosives refined from the Vermillion Ore. Just to see. She has her goggles down to assess the factory and look for a good way to bust in.

Starless Night (336) has posed:
So far everything looks... well, like there are a lot of options. The front gate is well-guarded, but also the easiest to just bust through the fence. The other fence portions have guard towers and spotlights, which means that the middle of the fence would be the best way in, on one of the other sides, if breaking it down is what's needed. Or an attempt can be made to go over. It looks like the loading bay is closed for the night, so that's a possible way in. It also looks like there might be rooftop access, or possibly a fire escape. Forcing the way in would be best.

Violette, the one who called for the Paladins, steps into the lounge with some coffee. "I wasn't sure you would come, but I appreciate it. Maybe just you two being here will help out." She eyes the scythe for a moment, but it's Himei that is getting a lot of her attention for some reason. "Anything you need?"

Well, she WAS asking that, when the opportunity that others may have wanted presents itself! Dramatically, a SHADOW falls across the factory, a young woman framed by the setting sun! She carries a sword at her side, and strikes a pose atop the... actually rather short building. No attempt to hide at all. She calls out!

    "The Unleashed Sparrow
    of the Punishing Typhoon
    Will dispense justice!"

And then she leaps for the factory! A dramatic leap, with a grappling hook thrown out to latch onto the guard tower nearest her and swinging forward! This is a good thing with all the shots being fired suddenly. At least they seem to be using tranq darts?

Gaonoir has posed:
A shadow! Does this shadow know what lurks in the hearts of men? Erika lifts her binoculars up to look from the field to the form posing atop the other roof. "... I don't think that's one of ours."

A sheen flashes across his visor as Gaonoir turns his head and zooms in to look as well. "I don't think so either. But hardly gonna pass up a perfectly good opening." The Black Machgaogamon crouches a bit, the jet engines affixed to his back ratcheting out into position, innards starting to glow as they power up. "You stay here. Shouldn't need the big guy for this." There is an audible roar as engines fire and the digimon launchs off the rooftop. His path arcs upward briefly to get as much speed as he can in a relatively short distance, then dives straight for a second of wall.

Between tremendous speed, strength, and the big metal fists extended in front of him as he dives it looks like Gaonoir intends to just living battering ram right through the wall.

Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
"Hey Sammy!" Shin waves several times to Middleton before grinning to Velvet, "Yo, yo. I'm Japanese. I have a thing with societal systematic oppression and slavery. It's a long story," Shin says vaguely, waving his hand to Velvet a couple times to dismiss her claim that he was willing to let her murder people, "Plus I vetted this place through Sammy. She said it checks out."

"YOU... need some music." Shin takes an iPod out of his jacket and then thrusts a set of earbuds into Velvet's ears and gives her some music to jam to, shouting over said music, "JUST GROOVE TO THIS AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND BEING A PROTAGONIST!" He then leaves her with the music player in her ears.

And then... Shin's attention is drawn by someone making an entrance! Shin has to respect the Sparrow's style, which is why he just gives a loud whistle and some applause for her stylish entrance.

Rabby (265) has posed:
As soon as the mysterious shadow appears, Rabby looks up and scowls. "Just my luck, someone had to show up to try to ruin everything." But then she notices the mysterious person going for the guard towers. "Or maybe not? Maybe while they're busy I can slip in undetected?" She looks at the fence and sees that it may be tall, but there's no wire on it. "Looks like I'm going up!"

A few moments later, Rabby has slipped to the side of the factory to the right of the main entrance and is attempting to climb up the fence as quickly as she can without drawing attention from the guards. "As long as nobody spots me," She thinks to herself, "I should be fine."

Yuko Minami (1064) has posed:
"Well... Maybe it'll work out better than expected~" Yuko replies with her usual cheerful tone, almost doing a facial 180 the instant Himei speaks up. "It's... Not a great situation, no. Still, we can keep it from getting worse!"

That would be even worse for her cred. No, if Yuko wants to get that PR bump, she'll have to work for it no matter how many haiku-spewing terrorists show up! Speaking of haiku-spewing terrorists, she squints slightly at the sight of the shadow at first, then the source of the words outside the factory.

Was that really a haiku? A dramatic one with proper form and firmly entrenching her as a freedom fighter rather than a terrorist, even... Still, judging from the lack of apparent lethal weaponry on the guards, the God Eater transforms her weapon into its similarly massive gun mode and fiddles with something on it for a while.

"We're going non-lethal with this, then? Oh, that's perfect~" Killing people in defense of a slave factory couldn't possibly look good, especially they're spouting things about justice. Just incapacitating them with electric shots, though? That's probably nice and clean-looking! Of course, choosing someone to shoot at is fairly tricky. Eenie meeny miney...

... Sky! Warning shots are good, too. After switching to one her flashy decorative (and cheap) bullet patterns, the God Eater fires what appears to be a massive blast of colorful sparks into the air. "This is private property, so if you want to gain entry, you'll have to do so legally!"

That did not sound nearly as impressive as she hoped. Dammit.

Samantha Middleton (1097) has posed:
"Shin," Sam starts to greet... and her planning is interrupted by someone crashing the party. She sighs, and drops the first of her turrets nearby to set up an escape route. Then she comments, "Velvet, you'd better get on the ball. It looks like you've got a rival for Shin's protagonist affections." They do look like peas in a pod don't they?

She'd better get moving and help out that woman. "Better go make sure she doesn't get herself killed. Maybe find a way in, too! Hey Velvet, those rocks we found make explosives, I made a few."

Like Rabby, Samantha is going to sprint over and try to climb the fence. Unlike Rabby, her goal is to get up close to help the... Unleashed Sparrow?

Velvet Crowe (1104) has posed:
Whoever that mysterious figure is has quite the dramatic flair. Velvet's eyes are drawn to her as she delivers the short speech and leaps straight for the factory. This is fine with her. No need to think, just act. Follow that figure's lead.

Her attention returns to Shin and Samantha briefly, and she nods. "Sure, then. I'm hungry anyway." Then she's handed music.

First reaction: what the hell is this, music is coming out of these earbud things. Second reaction: oh, right, radios are a thing. That professor from the League also taught her about 'storing' data, so it must be a similar deal.

"It's not that I don't think the music, but you're still weirding me out," she answers honestly. Still, she doesn't take the earbuds OUT, so...

"Sorry, what?" she shouts at Samantha, due to the aforementioned earbuds. "Bombs? You do that!" She got the last part right at least.

Warning shots illuminate the sky for a moment, causing Velvet to glance up. Everyone's rushing in ahead, but there's someone shouting about the law. She frowns and starts running towards Yuko. Guess she's found something to do!

Himei (331) has posed:
"Well that's... someone," Himei sighs, standing up. "Sorry, ma'am, but we'll have to get to work. I hope you aren't insisting we kill them. Like Yuko says, this isn't a situation we really want to make worse with needless bloodshed."

Nonlethal, huh? That means she can unholster the taser as she dashes out onto the rooftop. Wings of magic power spring from her shoulders, both drawing attention and preparing for a fight. It is, perhaps, intentional that she is QUITE far away when announcing herself, giving plenty of time to run instead of being captured.

"STAND DOWN AND YOU WILL NOT BE HARMED! THIS IS THE PALADINS, AND YOU'RE IN VIOLATION OF LOCAL LAW!"

Starless Night (336) has posed:
Rabby is... spotted! Unfortunately for the spotter, it's a single guard who calls out, "We have an attack on the west side! Someone breaking in! HEY!" He waves wildly for reinforcements, but things are already spiralling out of control, leaving just the one dude to fire off a dart at Rabby. He's just a rentacop basically, he's not prepared to fight an Elite.

The wall is surprisingly sturdy! Mostly because there's a LOT of metal in there. The concrete shatters though, as does a window. If Gaonoir isn't stopped, then getting in one of the gaps will be... a bit of a squeeze, but quite doable.

The Sparrow is avoiding most of the darts, but as she scrambles up her grappling line, she's getting a LOT more attention. Good thing for her that there are others here to draw some fire. Samantha and Velvet, specifically, get a few people turning and drawing a bead. The range on those rifles isn't great, so they're taking their time.

Sparrow calls out to Himei, "Storm unrelenting, justice will never be quenched, no matter man's law!" She leaps up, scrambling toward the guard tower, doing a flip upward to strike one of the guards in the chest. "A strike like lightning, brings the minion to his knees, all as it should be!"

Yuko Minami (1064) has posed:
Note to self: Workshop better law-abiding declarations with the other rookies before the next outing. Yuko won't have time to figure out something cool to say with a strangely-dressed lady coming at her, after all!

"Ma'am! This is a restricted area, so I'll have to fire if you come any closer~" That overly cheerful tone is still in Yuko's voice as she calls out that warning to Velvet, watching her feet of all places while thumbing the God Arc and switching its bullet patterns again. Still, it doesn't look like Velvet's going to take the first strike, and doing it herself...

That'd just look terrible even in this situation. Thus, Yuko goes for plan B: Meeting Velvet's advance while transforming the weapon AGAIN into it's shield mode. It's big, it's vaguely shaped like a turtle shell, and it's kinda bland looking! Still, it's an overly large shield, and Yuko's going to opt for using it as a physical wall against Velvet instead.

Perhaps tellingly, though, if Velvet doesn't suddenly rush forward? Yuko will actually slow down as if deliberately waiting for her to make the first move. It's time for a game of first-hit chicken!

Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
There's a lot of chaos going on right now! And Shin's not actually totally sure what he should be doing.

So he just tries to punch the side of the building! Normally, this would be weird! Shin, however, has crazy ki-based punches! And so, if he's actually allowed to get a good shot in on the side of the building, he might blow a giant hole in it.

He's hoping that that will help some slaves escape or something!

Rabby (265) has posed:
As soon as Rabby is spotted, she gasps, and quickly leaps from the fence onto the ground of the other side. Without missing a beat, she rushes towards the guard and attempts to administer a shoulder tackle to knock him out. "Get out of my way! I don't have time for amateurs like you!" After she's taken care of the guard, she attempts to reorient herself and then spots the main entrance. "Looks like getting in will be easier than I thought!" Rabby says with a smirk.

As she approaches the main entrance, Rabby takes a look around, trying to avoid being caught off-guard by any other guards or those who might be watching from afar. "Wait a minute, this is too easy..." She says with a scowl. "Something's wrong here, I can sense it."

Samantha Middleton (1097) has posed:
Oh joy, guards are coming toward HER now! Samantha ignores Himei for the time being, dropping her second turret and using that to shoot at the guards. It's small calibre ammunition, and she's shooting to wound, but it's a lot more lethal than darts. That's just to cover herself though while she digs out the explosive she made. Instead of using it on the wall, the cyborg girl uses her artificial arm to hurl it toward the base of the tower. She's no demolitionist, but blowing that up should make it fall, right?

Velvet Crowe (1104) has posed:
If Yuko won't take the strike, Velvet will. She's not a fan of law enforcers to begin with, so she doesn't need much excuse to attack. She's not here to 'free slaves' or 'dispense haiku justice', also what the hell is a haiku, she's just here because Shin asked. Hunger is a distant second factor. She's always hungry so it loses its punch as a justification for anything.

"Save the warnings for someone who cares!"

Velvet keeps running, and seeing the weapon shift into a massive shield doesn't deter her. It seems her intent is to slam into the shield, use it as a platform to flip over both it and Yuko, and then as her sword pops out of her bracer, release a sudden fiery slash towards her back, timed with a "Searing Edge!" because artes don't work if you don't announce them, it's a rule.

But that assumes Yuko doesn't have any nasty surprises in store and just lets it happen.

She has no idea security guards are aiming at her, so she can't really do anything about it right now.

Gaonoir has posed:
He was trying to knock the whole wall down, but a hole is good enough. Gaonoir will just have to knock some more heads to compensate for it. As concrete rubble and dust collapses around him Gaonoir pulls up and drops to the ground as his engines quit. Legs flex as they land as he crouchs to absorb the shock, one metal fist thumping to the ground in front of him for support, engines retracting against his back again. Yeah, he just made -that- landing pose meme. Deal with it.

"Sorry lady, not here to listen to laws that allow people to be abused and exploited like this." Not nearly as speechy as some other people, but his aviator scarf gives a dramatic flutter behind him all the same.

Using the one hand on the ground he pushes off to stand, clenching both large metal fists and flexing his arms at his sides. "So who wants some of this? Com'n, I've been waiting all night to smash some face!"

Up on the rooftop Erika slaps a palm to her face. Not quite what she intended when she told him to be a big distraction. Oh well, it seems to be working.

Himei (331) has posed:
"Right or wrong, there are better ways to handle this than causing mass destruction," Himei counters, letting Yuko handle Velvet. Maybe. Shin will need taken care of, too, but first... a quick leap into the air, wings flapping, and then a dive foot-first toward Gaonoir.

Himei doesn't seem inclined to use her guns, instead sticking to what she knows best. Hand to hand punches and kicks.

Starless Night (336) has posed:
Well, Velvet doesn't get shot at again, fortunately. This is because the guards don't want to shoot Yuko, actually. Instead, two of them come toward Shin with batons, shock batons. This is not going to end well for them, because they really aren't up to his level.

The wall IS pretty tough though. Ki-powered punches manage to smash a small hole, which reveals some kind of ruckus going on inside. Interesting.

Rabby... still isn't inside!! She suspects something? That's reasonable, because as she approaches she can hear the sounds of /something/ going on inside. It sounds kind of like a riot is going on? Did someone already get inside?

Other guards turn around and start shooting darts at Samantha, but their aim is off because of the cover fire. Shouting ensues as the tower buckles and crashes down! Yet Sparrow doesn't leap from within... she 'rides' it down by climbing out onto the window, but that is only so she can hurl her burden to safety on the grass! Her burden being the unconscious guard, so he isn't crushed.

Sadly this buries her in the rubble, with a loud shout cut off by the tumble of wood and stone crumbling atop her.

Gaonoir has posed:
Gaonoir grins as the girl comes diving towards her, even as he holds up his arms to shield himself from the diving kick. Which still hits with enough force to make the Digimon skid back a bit. Though he moves quickly to grab the offending leg as he recoils, and twists around to toss his assailant off in the other direction again. "Sometimes destruction is the only thing people listen to. Tend to not like having their dirty little toys broken."

Rabby (265) has posed:
Rabby does hear the strange noises inside, and she knows that there's chaos inside. "I dunno who they are or what they want, but I'm not taking any chances!" She takes out her rifle and loads a clip into it before moving to the front entrance. She tries the door but it's locked. "Ugh, looks like I'm busting through instead!"

A couple of well-placed kicks later, the door swings open and Rabby bursts in, sweeping her rifle around and looking for any immediate threats as she attempts to figure out where in the factory she is.

Himei (331) has posed:
Whoop! Leg latched onto, Himei tumbles back in the air! Fortunately, being able to fly makes this not nearly as worrying as it would be otherwise. Himei stalls in midair, then hovers for a moment. "Fine, consider yourself under arrest. This is an awful thing they're doing, no argument, but we have to approach it the right way. I'm obligated to stop you."

It's true she isn't putting her full heart in this fight, though. Then again, that doesn't mean she isn't fighting. Obligation, as she said. Only this attack isn't to hurt Gaonoir... it's a slam into the ground nearby, blasting the roof upward and trying to hurl Gaonoir away from the hole.

Samantha Middleton (1097) has posed:
Wince! Oh no! Samantha sees the tower come down on top of the strange haiku woman, then breathes a sigh of relief when it's revealed she's okay... and managed to save the guard. Samantha can be a little careless sometimes, getting ahead of herself with her own cleverness, so this isn't an uncommon problem for her.

"Whoops!" The dart flies a bit too close, grazing her cheek, and it makes Samantha remember the other guards! Diving forward and rolling, she comes up with her prosthetic arm... and a blade snapping out of it! She slices at the rifle with that, before aiming a quick knee to the man's groin. "Sorry, mister, but I don't much like getting shot! Just let us do our thing and we'll be right outta here!"

Shin Tokuyama (756) has posed:
Shin hears a ruckus through the hole that he punched in the side of the building. He sticks his head through with a wide grid, "Here's johnny, motherfuckers."

Shin then proceeds to get his arm through the hole and karate-chop straight downward, trying to cleave the hole even bigger with a swift motion. The martial arts expert then peers through the hole in the wall again.

    "Hey! Everyone get escaping!"

Yuko Minami (1064) has posed:
Today really isn't Yuko's day. Dramatic haikus on one end, snappy one liners on the other, and what's she got? A stupidly big shield that's a lot sturdier than she is. The God Eater takes the slam head on, although she does recoil considerably from the impact. It's only Velvet's announced Arte that has her realizing that she's even getting attacked from behind, and she barely manages to twist around in time to shove back against that flaming slash with her shield to stagger back and get some distance. Even with that blocked hit, though, the impact and flames still burn through to her arms, and she grits her teeth to avoid howling out in pain (and looking super weak).

Yuko might be a little outmatched here. At the rate things are going elsewhere, she's not even confident that the factory's going to be standing for long. Then again...

Maybe she could use that, too. "That's an impressive technique, ma'am! I've got one of my own, though, so don't hold back!" Shifting the God Arc into a massive scythe this time around, the blade glows with a dark energy and extends several yards in front of Yuko as she takes a massive horizontal swing at Velvet in turn. It's not the fastest strike or even the strongest one, but it's big and... Big!

Gaonoir has posed:
Gaonoir lets out a barking laugh. "You're welcome to try!" And try she does as Himei impacts in front of him with enough force that the shockwave sends the digimon reeling backwards and tumbling a bit before landing on his bionic feet again to skid to a stop. "If you're so hung up on your rules that you can't see how they're being hidden behind, not my problem if you get busted up for it." Poor Paladins, stuck having to obey all these regulations and stuff. Oh well, not his problem.

As he pushes back upright Gaonoir moves as if sucking in a deep breath much like a certain big bad wolf of lore. "Dark Mach Vortex!" And then heave it out again, sending a surging spiral of darkness infused wind rushing back towards Himei.

Velvet Crowe (1104) has posed:
    Scythe! Unpredictable.

Yuko gets a very, very nasty slice right into Velvet's chest. It is after all a very big scythe and scythes are blades. The daemon tumbles back, bleeding, but doesn't remain down for long. "Fine! You asked for it!" She goes from tumbling to kneeling to lunging in a fraction of a second, her left arm suddenly bursting out of the bandages covering it. It's all black and red, more energy than flesh, letting off a weird sort of black and purple mist. Two, maybe three times the size of her original arm, clawed and patterned like a werewolf.

She doesn't seem to care or even notice that behind them the factory is suffering severe damage as people knock a tower down and Himei slams the ground. She's completely focused on Yuko's taunts (and Shin's music), extending her daemon arm forward in attempt to GRAB Yuko. Any part of her, really. Arm, head, neck, chest, even the scythe. And then, she eats!

HP, specifically, not powers. She's wounded. She needs to heal that. If she can grab ahold of Yuko, or even just slice her open with those claws, the arm'll do its job and start draining her life away to fix Velvet's gaping wound up.

Starless Night (336) has posed:
Great, now fights are breaking out everywhere! And with a shifting of the rubble, Sparrow crawls out and dusts herself off, then thwacks the nearby guard with her sword. She turns around and... stops.

Because the guard with Samantha is going down too. "Shit," he blurts, his rifle snapping in two... before his eyes cross, and he thuds to the ground. Ouch.

Shin and Rabby get a sight though. Escape? Yeah that's... happening. Already. The 'laboror' race is a bit larger than most humans, and obviously artificial, though organic apparently. This is easy to see because Rabby is at the entrance and gets to see one smashing a guard against the wall, very hard. The guard gasps, "H-Help!" Further in, there's a full scale riot going on, with a woman twirling something in her fingers watching the whole thing.

Shin will see something similar, except the guard is not able to ask for help because he's getting his face punched in. The 'slave' looks up at the hole being widened, then calls out for some companions.

Meanwhile, a large flying craft is approaching at high speed, and opts to avoid the fighting by heading for part of the yard, readying to touch down. The speaker crackles to life. "ATTENTION: You are tresspassing on private property! This is Violette Dupre of the Chernobog Alliance, cease hostilities at once."

Yuko Minami (1064) has posed:
"An Aragami...?" Yuko murmurs, that cheerful look disappearing almost immediately and a fire lighting up in her eyes. Her sworn enemy has appeared in front of her, and the God Eater looks much more ready to live up to her title. "So you've spread even out to here, then! Alright..."

The scythe's extended energy blade thing retracts into the oversized weapon as Yuko draws it back, apparently readying it for close range combat. Alas, she's not expecting Velvet to use that demonic arm to just grab her as quickly as she is, and the brunette grimaces as she gets her FACE grabbed by that inappropriately large hand.

Even as Velvet eats and feeds off Yuko's life, the God Eater doesn't let the inability to see anything but giant clawhand stop her from striking back. She thrashes around with the scythe, trying to wedge that blade in wherever she can and leverage it not unlike a really unwieldy crowbar. Sure, her movements are getting slower and weaker by the second, but Yuko's not about to go down without at least getting a few more swings in!

Especially not if her employer and anyone else with cameras is watching. About time Violette spoke up.

Rabby (265) has posed:
These 'laborers' are definitely not human, and definitely not one to be messed with. Rabby immediately goes wide-eyed as she realizes she may have almost bitten off more than she can chew. "Oh hell no," Rabby says with a scowl as she backs towards the entrance, believing that this is going to require a bit more planning on her end. "If I confront one of those things head on, I'll be crushed like a tomato!" It's only then that the craft is noticed and the speaker crackles to life. As soon as Violette finishes her speech, Rabby realizes that this is not going to end well if she keeps this up.

Quickly strapping her rifle to her back again, Rabby raises her hands in surrender and yells out, "Don't shoot! I'm leaving now!" She attempts to run towards the nearest fence and scale it faster than she did before. Once she gets over that fence and touches the ground, she takes off running, not wanting to risk being captured or worse...

Velvet Crowe (1104) has posed:
"Aragawhat now?" That's a new, weird word. There's also a ship looming over their heads now. The distraction this causes easily allows Yuko to smack Velvet away with that scythe of hers. Luckily, this time, she avoids getting sliced open, getting away with just a headache caused by the impact. She also manages not to end up on the ground, catching herself to flip and land one knee down instead, that arm still out.

That gaping hole has sealed up, too! Mostly.

"I'm a daemon, not whatever you just said."

    She... doesn't attack, though.
    No, she stops.
    Why?

With an annoyed expression, she finally asks: "Okay, you seem like you know what's going on here, so what's a haiku and why do people care so much?"
    Priorities.

Himei (331) has posed:
The Dark Vortex flings Himei back, but she digs a foot in and slides back with a grit of her teeth. She's been through worse, she can handle a bit of this. She prepares a counterattack but...

"Uh..." Violette's arrival makes her look up. "If she's here in the sky... then who was serving me coffee earlier?" She makes a gesture with her hands. "Timeout, I think one or both of us have been played."

Gaonoir has posed:
Gaonoir winds back an arm as if about to lunge at Himei and punch her while she recovers, but stops beforehand at the proclimation along with the arriving aircraft. There's a pause, and a snorted snarl as he lowers his arm while glaring up at the ship. "I think you may be right..."

Samantha Middleton (1097) has posed:
Samantha looks up at the arriving craft! And she was just about to send herself in and do stuff, too! But it sounds like a riot is already going on? And Rabby is taking off pretty fast! That doesn't look good. Who is she, anyway? So when Himei says they've been had... well...

"... maybe we should bail." She pops up the turret she left behind, in case she needs it to help cover the retreat. "Hey Velvet! Shin! Gaonoir! Let's beat it! Looks like they've got this covered themselves from the sound of things."

Yuko Minami (1064) has posed:
Velvet backs off just in time for Yuko to catch herself against her God Arc, the top of the scythe resting on the ground while she uses the whole thing like a portable wall to lean on. It's certainly large enough to act that way, and the rookie takes a moment to make sure Velvet's really stopped before staggering back up carefully.

"You... Aren't? O-oh. That's..." The fire in her eyes fades rather quickly at that point, and she's back to looking chipper! Exhausted and ready to pass out, but chipper and happy and everything's definitely okay. "... A haiku is a type of poem! Three lines, with the first and third being a certain number of syllables and the second having a few more than that."

She should have put on her glasses for that. Then Yuko would have a dramatic glint when she turns to Himei and Violette's incoming craft.

"That's... Curious. Hmm. We weren't being made fools of, were we?" The fire's starting to come back again.

Starless Night (336) has posed:
It's a good thing Paladins are required to have their badges visible, because that keeps things from getting violent fast. The door opens, and it's Violette all right. "I'd heard that my credentials were used to call in the Paladins, and here they are actually needed." She isn't going to move forward though... and the troops in there aren't going to rush into the factory full of rioting artificial people. "This will take a long while to clean up. You'd best all make yourself scarce before I start picking out blame." She actually doesn't want a fight any more than the others do, so this is the only chance the Watch and unaffiliateds have to get out without a fight.

Gaonoir has posed:
Gaonoir just hmphs softly, slipping back into his 'ominous lone wolf' persona as it's clear this fight is over. "Waste of time here at this point," is his somewhat indirect response to Samantha. He just turns away from the factory, activates his jet engines and rockets off to retrieve his Tamer from the other rooftops.
