It's Possibly a Primal
Date of Scene: 19 January 2019
Location: Gridania, Eorzea
Synopsis: The Scions and the Elder Seedseer brief the Adventurers about the presence of a new Primal in the Black Shroud
Cast of Characters: N'raha Tia, Athela Valemore, 1119, 6716, Inga

N'raha Tia has posed:
The call goes out on the Offworlder channels of the Scion's linkpearls and radios. Come to Gridania, there might be work to do. Minfilia is very insistent upon this, and that she's certain that Eorzea might need the aid.

The place? Gridania, one of the three capitals of Eorzea, and the Scions... and friends of the Scions, are being ushered into the chambers of the Elder Seedseer, Kan-E-Senna. The gentle looking woman in the white robes is flanked by a set of rather tough looking spearmen in ceremonial armor. Sulking around the edge of the sculpted lily pads and pools is another young person that resembles The Elder Seedseer, only, as was mentioned, younger and haughty. What's their problem?

There's also Warrior of Light. N'raha seems a little nonplussed to be in the presence of the head of Gridania, something that's less and less of a shock for him, mingling with the Noble Folk and the heads of the Alliance. The catman stands up as everyone else is ushered in. "Hey, thanks for coming on short notice, we just got this ourselves, so..." He holds his hands out and looks to the others. "Right uh. This is Kan-E-Senna. She's the leader of Gridania, and the toughest White Mage I know. Even better than Doc Silent. So."

The young lady bows her head. "I will begin once everyone is ready."

Athela Valemore has posed:
Previously Athela had been coming to these requests for aid because it was what a knight errant does, assisting other lands in dealing with their problems. And because she considered N'Raha a friend and brother-in-arms. Those still held true of course. But after being through the Minstrel's tales and seeing what could be done with the power of the Primals in the wrong hands, she was more determined than ever to help protect this world, threats of Primals or otherwise.

As she's lead in Athela nods to N'raha in greeting. Then raises one arm across her chest as she dips into a formal bow towards the Elder Seedseer. "An honor, milady. I hastened as soon as I heard there was trouble lurking."

Her Vaporeon had followed in at her heels, and when Athela bows the merefox leans forward and tilts her forebody in a similar gesture.

Josuke Higashikata (1119) has posed:
Eorzea isn't a place Josuke's ever been before. From his first look it was a medieval-type world, so he's wearing that Victorian-ish getup he wears when he doesn't want to cause too much of a fuss with his appearance. It's still purple, the sleeves are still worn snug to his arms, and it features a thigh-length coat, so it doesn't look too terribly different from his usual getup.

He's there with the others, waiting to hear what's wrong. He volunteered to help, of course, since he's that kind of person. Also because he's hoping to hear something that will explain the world a little, too.

Morgan Berselius (6716) has posed:
Morgan has been lurking around Eorzea quite a bit recently. The whole 'crazy gods from Outside that are slowly killing the world' thing is straight up his alley. A shadow creeps out from under the trees, casually stepping out of a veil of liquid darkness that seeps out from the boughs of one of Gridania's great trees.

"Hey again Raha," he says with a sleepy wave. There are bags under this young man's eyes, dark rings which hang lower than they really aught on a face like his. "Hear you narrowed some stuff down. Nice to miss you, miss White Mage," Morgan offers a respectful little nod. "So, what's this that we're goin' after today, eh?"

"Looks like it's... a pretty big deal."

Inga has posed:
Inga has totally been here the whole time. She is absolutely not late, because a witch is never late.

Inga is seated on a small stool, holding her walking stick loosely as she gazes around the area. It's lovely. Gridania is likely her favorite of the places she's seen so far. She could wander here for a good, long time.

She nods to everyone as they arrive and says a few greetings to those she is familiar with before she addresses Kan-e-senna. "An honor to meet you. I am Inga Freyjasdottir," she says, then would go back to listening attentitvely.

N'raha Tia has posed:
Kan-E-Senna is just about to open her mouth to speak and greet everyone else... when a small white fluffy... critter descends from the branches of the trees that make up the sanctum, flailing and stammering. It's got a head and a rotund little body, tiny bat wings, a cute little face, and a bobbly red booper or something sprouting from it's noggin. "Please, You have to stop them!" He scoots up to Inga first, and flails. "B-But you mustn't kill them!" Athela next. "They're not /bad/ moogles, they're just... Misguided!" Morgan gets the next burst. "A gentle -- NO! A Firm thrashing perhaps but no-"

It's here that the sulky little girl with the horns skulking at the back of the room pipes up. "Calm yourself, Kuplo Kopp! Can you not see that they haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about? Be quiet!" She levers herself up. "Pray forgive this WITLESS outburst, dear friends."

Kan-E-Senna sighs a bit looking slightly helplessly at the group. "This is Kuplo Kopp, and he is the one bringing this... message to us today. And this is actually quite the unsettling development."

Athela Valemore has posed:
At first Sprite bristles and flares her ear-fins reflexively at the abrupt intrusion.... But it quickly fades into a look of confusion from the vaporeon as the fuzzball prances around in a blubbering panic. Then scampers off to someone else with his frantic flailing. She tilts her head to the side, perplexed. "Vaaa?"

Athela watchs the little furball bound again and merely hmms. "He does kind of remind me of a Clefairy, yes."

At least it's not a Jigglypuff. Or heavens forbid, Mr. Mime.

Inga has posed:
It is quite a dignified gathering.

Then a stuffed animal descends from the ceiling and Inga lets out a small, involuntary squeak. ITS. ADORABLE. Want...to...hug. She presses her lips together as it speaks to her, resisting the urge to reach out and touch it's little pompom.

She looks back toward Kan-E-Senna, frowning. She looks between the moogle and the Seedseer. A look of understanding dawns. "....Ah."

Josuke Higashikata (1119) has posed:
Josuke's startled by the appearance of the critter, and jumps a bit. But it's so tiny -- and actually really cute -- that he doesn't attack it. He tilts his head, with a thoughtful pout, at the thing's frantic words. "...What... are you talking about...?" he mutters at the flying thing.

Fortunately the sulky girl and Kan-E-Senna intervene and try to make things a little clearer. "So what's he got his antenna in a twist about?" he asks Kan-E-Senna. "Sounds serious."

Morgan Berselius (6716) has posed:
That.

Is actually kind of adorable.

"Aheheheh, he's got a little head-pompom," Morgan snickers quietly and shoves his hands deep into his pockets. "Heheh, don't worry pal. I ain't gonna do worse than just... clear a few heads, if that's all it'll take. 'Course, we can't exactly just leave something like a Primal wandering around, so we might need to get a bit more forceful than that."

Morgan heaves a mild shrug. "So? Wanna fill us in, little buddy?"

N'raha Tia has posed:
Raha, for his part, takes the next bit. "So. It sounds like Good King Moggle Mog the XII has returned to Eorzea." A beat. "And that's important because we're pretty sure he's just a legend and didn't actually exist." A sidelong glance to Kan-E-Senna and the other girl.

The sullen girl gets less sullen now that she can contribute. "I'm Raya, hello! And honestly, I myself cannot properly say if Moggle Mog is a genuine figure, or mere mythology. Kuplo would have us believe he's real, though."

Kuplo doesn't seem to grasp just how close he just came to being hugged or grasped by multiple people, but waves his little arms some more, the... well, what expression he has turning somehow more serious. Seriously CUTE that's what. He looks to Morgan though. "Oh! He's not a Primal! He's the leader of the Moogles from LOOOOOONG ago, kupo!"
His little stubby arms spread wide. "He helped deliver the Moogles from the heavens, long ago! We were once the servants of the gods, kupo, and it was great! Beautiful, spacious, and an ENDLESS supply of wine! Kupo!"
A moment's reflection. That might have been the problem."

Raha takes a deep breath and sighs, sitting next to Inga. Oh great. Story time with the moogles.

Morgan Berselius (6716) has posed:
"Hhhhhuhhh," Morgan says, making a curious sound. "Servants of the gods with endless wine, you say? I like you, little guy. So this'll be /extra/ pro-bono. If this King Moggle Mog--" (Oh no even the name is adorable) "--Isn't a full on primal, then there's probably a better chance for me to be able to break whatever hold he's got over his minions."

"Or, like, I guess if they're just /super drunk/ I should be able to clear that up too," Morgan scratches at his chin. "...Honestly I've... never actually tried that. We'll have to find out together if it'll work."

Athela Valemore has posed:
There's a murmur of 'sometimes servant is just saying slave fancy' under Athela's breath. But that's not important compared to the problem being presented.

"He may not be a Primal, but..." Athela considers for a moment, what she's learned of this world and knows of divinty in general, before turning to N'Raha and Kan-E-Senna. "Would it be hypothetically possible for, if the Moogles believed in their legendary leader firmly enough, that he could become manifest in a similar manner? The divine oft draw strength from the power of their believers, do they not... But their presence in turn can also corrupt that belief."

Josuke Higashikata (1119) has posed:
A legend has appeared in the flesh? Josuke gives a thoughtful pout as he listens, taking in all this information. He doesn't have a lot of information about the world itself, but he does offer, "There's generally a little basis in truth for most legends. Maybe they're not exactly what people think they are, but there's usually something there. I can't say what, especially not in this case."

N'raha Tia has posed:
Kuplo Kopp, however seems to be continuing his story in the background as the Heroes discuss things with the others. Something about ropes that lead from Heaven and Good King Moggle Mog Twelfth of His Name Kupo and that sort of thing.

It's Athela's statement that gets the attention of Kan and Raya, who look at each other uneasily, and then back to the group. "We... cannot say for certain that is the case," Kan ventures. "If what you suggest is true, this wouldst be the first time... we know of... that has happened." She adjusts her grip on her staff uneasily.
Raya's a bit more forceful about it. "Aslo, who would teach the Moogles, of all the tribes, about summoning? Moggle Mog is far from a proper god, and what would the purpose even be? The Empire has been pushed back out of Eorzea."

Raha is the one to answer that. "Because the Warriors of Light don't work for the Beast Tribes. They work for the mortal races." He lets that drop in the air, as more uneasy glances cast about the room.

Athela Valemore has posed:
Athela Valemore shakes her head a little. "They are not human. If they have reasons it is likely not the ones we would think of ourselves. They may not even know what harm they can potentially cause with such an... unorthadox occurance." She pauses, then frowns. "And if I am wrong... that is all the more reason to figure it out, no? So the problem does not become worse. Or happen again."

It's starting to feel less like a coincidence, with how much the Moogle reminds her of some eccentric Fairy types. She gets down to one knee to be closer to his level and gentle reach to pat his head. "Relax, my small fuzzy friend. You have told us what is happening... But can you tell us more about how?"

Morgan Berselius (6716) has posed:
For what it's worth, Morgan /is/ actually listening to this story of Good King Moggle Mog. He's even brought booze to share! What a nice guy, this mysterious man of liquid darkness. Where'd he pull that bottle of vodka from anyway?

Well, it /is/ kind of all they can really brew with turnips back home. He's developed a taste for it.

And the Multiverse's booze is just so much better.

N'raha Tia has posed:
Athela gets another look from Kan-E. "The fact remains that if he was Summoned, Moggle Mog would affect Eorzea and Hydaelyn the same way other Primals do. Brought forth by crystals, he wouldst sustain himself on the aether of the land, and cause blight and havoc."

Kuplo interjects again, as he floats down to peer into this bottle that Morgan has brought. "The Mogglesguard is just trying to protect us all, kupo! But... I admit, since they brought Good King Moggle Mog, Twelfth of His Name -- May his boundless grace fill our hearts with love -- They've started to get a little carried away." He bobbles with the weight of the bottle. "Kupo, maybe verging on a lot, in fact..." He takes a sip...

Kan nods quietly. "We cannot discount that... whatever Good King Moggle Mog might be is in fact starting to act in the manner of all Primals."

Raha sighs. "So. Someone pushes several carts full of crystals into the hands of the Mogglesguard, and suggests that maybe their timeless leader would... fix things? Where have we heard that before?" Another dour grunt.

Athela Valemore has posed:
Athela Valemore nods to Kan-E. "That is what I meant, milady. They may not realize this if they--"

She stops, first at Kuplo's farther explaination, then as Raha makes some more logical conclusions. This causes her to frown as she gets back to her feet. "You think the Moogleguard were misdirected into this?" She cusps a hand to her chin thoughtfully. "Both to keep the protectors of the realm busy and farther deplete the land so it can be weak and exploitable... Yes, that does sound familiar doth it not?"

While the people have gone back to talking Sprite plods over and tries to rub comfortingly against the Moogle. Someone might mistake the Vaporeon for some kind of odd Carbunkle or such, being a fox-like creature with elemental powers commanded by someone else and all.

Morgan Berselius (6716) has posed:
That bottle of booze does seem to be a pretty nice (though still relatively affordable) brew. It's vodka! It's smooth on the way down. Should probably be mixed with something though.

"Hm, if it's acting like a Primal, we really shouldn't discount that it's doing that whole Tempering thing like the others do," Morgan suggests, sitting cross-legged on a nearby boulder with a nice, crystal glass of clear spirits. He swirls it around and takes a light whiff. "I mean, I can see someone summoning their god out of the aether on a drunken bender. Well. 'God.' Whatever Moggle Mog is now."

And from there... Who knows? Like I said, I'll try my best."

N'raha Tia has posed:
To that, Kan-E nods quietly to both the Knight and the Raven. "We are in agreement then. The Scions, the Warrior of Light, and... associates, must needs eliminate the threat to Gridania and Eorzea. Infiltrate the Thornmarch and render this Summoned Being back to the Lifestream." A serious look to the others, and then to Raha. "I am certain that the Warrior of Light can find... several of his stoutest compatriots to handle a Primal. I am certain such things have happened in the past, have they not, Raha of the Aldgoat?"
There's a shiver down the back of the Catman as Kan-E-Senna, Elder Seedseer, Prophet of the Twelveswood, uses his Proper Name. His ears flick against his hair, his tail poofs out a bit, and the looks to Athela and Morgan. "...Sssssss-something like that, yes."

Athela Valemore has posed:
Athela Valemore nods. "He has, and he will." One hand goes to rest upon the hilt of her divine sword, gripping but not actually unsheathing it from her side. "You have my word Seedseer, as Champion of Keldeo and Knight of the Swords of Justice, to help protect this world as if it be our own."

Which she had already been doing, true. But actually affirming it to someone of relavant position for a change makes it feel even more right in doing so.

Morgan Berselius (6716) has posed:
"Ehhhhh, I mean /I/ haven't fought a Primal myself, necessarily," Morgan admits a little sheepishly. He at least seems to be in good enough spirits about it, though! Or maybe that's just the liquid courage talking...? "I think I've got a pretty decent chance of it though. We've got pretty similar problems back home. It'll be a good test of things, at least.

N'raha Tia has posed:
"Then we will make preperations." Kan-E-Senna straightens up and nods. "I'm sure that Papalymo and Urangier have some ideas of how to breach the defenses of the Thornmarch, much in the ways you made it to Titan and Ifrit." A nod to Raha. "Take heart, Warrior of Light. You are not alone in this. Gridania and the Alliance are behind you, in all steps."

Raha nods and straightens. "Thanks, Elder Seedseer. It's a gracious thought." He smiles, or tries to.

Athela Valemore has posed:
Athela Valemore reachs over to put her other hand reassuringly on N'Raha's shoulder. "As are we, as we have been before."
