Date of Scene: 27 April 2021
Location: Remnant
Synopsis: Warfarin talks to Doctor Bartholomew Oobleck about various matters on Remnant.
Thanks to: Warfarin for coming.
Cast of Characters: Yang Xiao Long, 7365

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
    Last time, on Remnant.

"Aura is the manifestation of a Huntsman's Soul." says Oobleck. "Semblances are ill understood even after so long to study them."

The Doctor looks to the vampire, setting a mug of coffee down on a table with a chair nearby, gesturing for Warfarin to sit so they can talk properly.

Warfarin (7365) has posed:
"I see." remarks Warfarin, moving to sit as gestured. She sets her bag next to the chair, before taking a small bag filled with a red liquid, sipping on it. "Sounds more metaphysical than biologically capable, but this is just an outsiders view on the matter." she takes a loolk around Oobleck's office before settling her vision back on the Good Doctor. "Is there anything you can tell me about the beasts of Remnant? I believe Yang called them 'Grimm'."

She moves to pick up a notebook out of her bag, setting the red-filled bag down and grabbing a pen. "I should mention, I do appreciate you taking time out of your day to see me."

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
"Ah yes, the Grimm. Unfortunately we know as little of them as we do about the ins and outs of Semblances. They evaporate into smoke on death, you see, impossible to get an autopsy on a cloud of vapor. And before you ask, yes we have tried to capture and vivisect Grimm, however they're not suseptible to sedatives as we know them, and simply strapping them down is impractical as they will constantly struggle, seemingly having no depletable reservoir of stamina." Ooblecks voice travelling a mile-a-minute as he speaks. "What we do know is that they have no Soul, lacking Aura entirely, though their bodies are made much tougher than humans or Faunus. A Beowolf can take several high caliber rounds to even supposedly vulnerable areas without going down, though they do seem to share at least one common weakness with us. The head."

Warfarin (7365) has posed:
Warfarin frowns a bit, "Can't use normal sedatives... struggles constantly... nigh infinite stamina." she taps her foot a bit. "No... soul. So no Aura. Just very tough." she thinks on this a moment, "Wonder if some off world... medicine... might help." another pause, "Do they 'bleed' at all?" there's a bit of a smile... and a fang showing. Though when the weakness is said, she hmms, "Do you know if they have dens... or do they just... 'appear'. Concentration of area? Any zones in this world that they like to inhabit?"

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
"No blood, though some Huntsmen have said that when wounded, they 'bleed' a kind of black ichor that quickly evaporates. Bisected corpses have been noted, on personal cameras, to be made up of an entirely red substance, interlaced with black lines, perhaps some kind of rudamentary circulatory system." a sip of coffee it taken, "Omnipresent, ever moving... they act like some kind of, aggressive fluid instead of animals, despite their looks. They have not been known to make permanent settlements of any kind, though individual, very old Grimm do tend to linger around areas where they have been highly successful in killing humans... especially the dangerous subvariant of HunterKillers, ancient monstrocities that go out of their way to engage Huntsmen and Huntresses. Most Grimm steer away from large groups of people."

Warfarin (7365) has posed:
There's some more scribbling on the notepad. "Hmm, it's hard to get any sort of scientific data on these." Warfarin shakes her head a bit on this, taking a sip from the red bag. "And always moving, makes it hard to pin down..." she grumbles a bit at this, shaking her head slightly once more, "Hunterkillers, huh. This really isn't good for us science types... they give us nothing but battle data to record." There's a slight pause from the vampire, "I know it may be dangerous but have people tried to proactively hunt one of the HunterKillers? Perhaps to see if they might be /different/?"

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
"They are very dangerous, but when one is identified it is assigned to as many Huntsmen as possible to mitigate the risks and provide the highest possibility of ending the creature... Acquiring data is always a secondary concern when a HunterKiller is on the field... as unfortunate for us as it may be. Huntsmen must protect lives first and foremost." replies Oobleck. "I understand the frustration, however Grimm are far too dangerous to take lightly. Our world is rather dangerous, even within the cities."

Warfarin (7365) has posed:
"Even within the cities?" Warfarin questions, "What do you mean by that? If the Grimm steer away from large groups of people, one would think cities or large human settlements would be the safe places to be. Unless... there are some smaller Grimm that take advantage of that size..." she taps her foot. "I may not be a Huntress from your fine school, but would you permit me to join in on one of the Grimm hunts? You won't have to worry about myself, I'm a medic."

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
"We have had to repel large amounts of Grimm from the walls before... I am certain you saw the large artillery on the perimeter walls, yes? They are designed to drive off the Behemoths before they can reach the walls and cause damage." replies Oobleck, taking another sip of his coffee. "Ah yes, the Headmaster has a scheme in place for off-worlders to join Huntsmen teams. A provisional lisence of sorts. It will allow a possessor to join Huntsmen teams, or take on minor missions for themselves. We would have to run a few tests, physical aptitude and such to ensure you would be able to handle yourself, of course." The question of smaller Grimm gets a pensive look. "There have been reports of non-aggressive Grimm that accumulate near human settlements... and cause people to lose all drive to do anything. These reports are not substantiated but the implications are unsettling."

Warfarin (7365) has posed:
Warfarin nods, "Yeah, I saw those." she gives a bit of a look towards the window. "I can send you all my medical data, should that help." she states, "And perhaps... we can work on the 'passive' Grimm." she gets a good grin upon her face, "Of course, I'll be willing to test out anything you're in need of." beat "Or learning. There are still things in this world I would like to understand and know."

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
"Of course, Doctor. I will forward your information to the Headmaster. We are always welcoming of offworld support." replies Oobleck, as a ringtone starts sounding in his pocket. "I should take that, but please, don't hesitate to ask for help from our Huntsment if you need it. I am certain Miss Xiao Long has an active presence outside of Remnant, and there are likely others also." In a fluid motion he pulls out his Scroll, uncollapses it and presses the accept button on the incoming call. The caller ID picture is of a blonde woman with sharp green eyes. "Yes Professor? Ah, yes I see. I'll be with your presently."

Between blinks, the Doctor is gone. Is that a flashing dotted outline in the air? Can't be.
