Profile

AOZAKI AOKO or as she tends to be known, Miss Blue, Magic Gunner, Witch of Destruction or just Blue, is the current user of the Fifth True Magic and the heir of the Aozaki clan. Though neither of her parents were magi and her older sister was born with an incredible potential as a magus, it is her who was chosen by her grandfather to inherent the Magic he created, but did not yet awaken. Near the end of high school, in a confrontation with her sister Touko, she partially awoke the Fifth to perform several miracles, and then wandered off to see the world. Outspoken, friendly, able to stick her nose into anything she feels like without any remorse, Aoko is a freegoing loose cannon of a woman, never allowing herself to be restrained at any one place for too long. Occasionally a bit of a show-off, she usually prefers the low-profile approach since it's easier to do what you want when people aren't after you. Though not entirely a facade, it wouldn't be incorrect to say she acts the way she does to cope with something or another. Though she's really a third-rate magus, her body is hyperspecialized in the forms of magecraft she uses, and with minimal effort she can produce large displays of destructive light and fire (hence her nicknames), or enhance her body to contend with superhuman foes.

  • Evil Aura: To those with sharpened or supernatural senses, something about Aoko feels off. Wrong. Almost outright evil. As if she weren't human, but something not meant to exist pretending to be a human. She genuinely has no idea why she provokes that reaction, or maybe she knows and she's not telling.
  • "I'm Going To Be Totally Honest Here For A Second... I Have No Idea How To Stop That From Exploding Now.": Aoko can DESTROY. Oh boy can she destroy things. She can blow them up! Burn them! Implode them! On the other hand, she can't really control the collateral, and she can't stop a reaction (like an explosion) she already set into motion.
  • Infamy: It is fairly trivial to inquire with the Church or the Mage's Association to find out who Aoko is, and that she has a fairly bad track record with luring trouble and collateral damage, meaning that no matter how mundane she tries to present herself, it's not very hard to uncover the truth.
  • Low Magic Circuits Count: Due to having a low amount of Magic Circuits, it's technically much easier to disable her ability to use magecraft than it would be for most other magi, since there are less places in her body where the magic routes to and from. Attacks designed to target Magic Circuits or other thematic equivalent have a higher success rate and accuracy against her.
  • Pinnacle Of Laissez-Faire: Aoko doesn't like the idea of people watching what she's up to, much less of governing what she's up to. She prefers to think people should be free to do as they please. As a result she's almost always on the move-- she wanders into places both bad and good, just for the sake of never staying still and sightseeing.
  • Just A Trunk And A Free Spirit: Aoko has very few belongings and they all fit in a single briefcase. This is great for traveling, which is where all her money goes. She only stops roaming when she can't afford it anymore. Aoko isn't usually someone who has money to spare. She spends it as soon as she gets it, and can't usually pay for much.
  • The Red Shadow: When a magus reaches the Root/Akasha, the origin of all things, one of two things can happen: they touch the Root, and disappear forever, or they get killed by a Red Shadow, a spawn of the Counter Force and Alaya, the will of the planet. Aoko is a Magician, meaning she is one of five known people to have reached the Root, and avoided either of those fates. The Fifth Magic is incomplete however, and when she makes significant use of it and risks completing it, the Red Shadow appears to taunt and threaten her. Though she can normally handle it herself, in the event she were trying to make extremely substantial use of the Fifth Magic, she may be too distracted to deal with it, and would require external aid to avoid suffering grave injuries at its hands.
