Profile

Very little is known about the origins of the monstrous Cell, the mysterious leader of the Red Ribbon Regiment. A bizarre creature theorized to be one of the many bioweapons produced by the evil Dr. Gero before his death, Cell demonstrates a wide array of martial and biological abilities, matching the known capabilities of numerous species - human, Namekian, Saiyan, and other, stranger things. However, his most dangerous weapon is undoubtedly his mind. Wielding his prodigious intellect and terrifying charisma, Cell organized the Red Ribbon Regiment as a counter-force to the Planetary Trade Organization, hiding in the shadows as his organization built strength. Though his true goals are shrouded in mystery, Cell is nonetheless heralded as a hero by the Red Ribbon Regiment. Many have reason to doubt his claims of beneficence towards Earth, however, as the bizarre biomonster tends to set people on edge with his creepy appearance, his intense personality, and his mercenary leanings.

FOLLOW THE MONEY: Cell is a mercenary. Sometimes he takes jobs that demand him to do things that might conflict with his plans. Sometimes his contacts require services of him that waste his resources and cause him problems. It's part of the mercenary life.

CRUEL S.O.B.: Cell is a walking mess of biological superweaponry raised in a tank and programmed to kill a man who no longer exists. He emerged into a world where aliens had taken over the world once before. He has a very low tolerance of weakness, whether physical, mental, or emotional, and is perfectly happy to leave people to die to accomplish his goals. He enjoys seeing weak people broken, seeing them writhe in agony, hopeless beneath his feet. He loves to break their spirits and make them feel that they were beaten and broken by him, by Cell, master of the Red Ribbon Regiment. This self-indulgence can lead to difficulties both with making friends and generally being accepted by groups.

CREEPY BIOMONSTER THING: Cell is creepy. Even with charisma to spare, he's still...well, he's still a horrific cicada-looking biomonster who drinks human beings as fuel. That's sort of off-putting to lots of people who might otherwise be perfectly willing to treat with him as a business partner. While his long-term contractors may be comfortable with him, new contacts out in the Multiverse may find it difficult to reconcile his terrifying appearance with their own sense of decency. Something about him just sparks a predator reaction in people. He has to be very careful about how he presents himself in a lot of situations, and while it's not easy to get his facade of charisma to crack, once it does, it's unsettling and dangerous, and can lead to major problems for Cell's long-term plans and relationships.

DRIVEN TO PERFECTION: Cell was programmed with two imperatives as his core state of mind. The first was "Kill Son Goku". The second was "reach completion". While Son Goku may no longer live, Cell is still pushed towards reaching completion. This impetus drives his every waking moment, forcing him to master every discipline he pursues. Challenges placed before him can divert him from his carefully-laid plans, as can his inherent obsessive need to absorb Androids 17 and 18 - the prerequisite for his final transformation into Perfect Cell. Around Android 17 and 18 - from his own world or any other - he loses all focus for anything but this obsession.

THE PROBLEM WITH HYPER-SENSES: High-pitched sounds cause Cell intense discomfort and generally distract him due to the Namekian DNA that makes up part of his body. Powerful odors also discomfort and distract him thanks to his Saiyan DNA.

ENERGY ECONOMY: While Cell can regenerate large sections of his body at will, it costs him energy to do. While an arm, a leg, or half his chest may not be terribly draining once, doing it ten times is probably not going to leave him in much of a fighting mood. Regenerating his entire body substantially depletes his power, forcing him to spend an extended amount of time recovering and replenishing his power.
