Kono Eiko is just your average, game-addicted, socially maladjusted college drop-out having problems holding a decent job, who picked up a suspicious grimoire on ebay. Sabram is your typical, sealed Dark Lord, powered by curses, seeking someone to do his dirty work in exchange for cosmic power. Vaguely together, they fight the (sometimes) demonic forces of the Other Side trying to merge a fantastical world of non-humans with 21st-century Earth. That might not be the worst thing to let happen, but the loot's good enough that Eiko can stop sending out resumes. She's got a sword she can't use half the time, magic that only works when her "partner" thinks she needs it, and a fully internalized (and oft incorrect) belief that there's no important distinction between her life and an RPG. At least no one really expects her to take on all the hells at once, on her own--but she wishes she did get that much credit.

Pact: Eiko wasn't clear on the details when she made her blood contract, other than that retaining her power is contingent on her satisfactory service for an indeterminate period. She must complete any mission assigned to her, and cannot knowingly work against Sabram's interests without, at best, losing access to her pact's power.

Fantasy Escapist: A combination of antisocial behavior and an arrogant disdain for modern, mundane life has given Eiko a profound apathy toward the "real world." She's scorned the virtues of hard work and communal harmony, and lacks any socially acceptable life goals. This had left her tending toward the life of a social pariah, lacking in common sense and unwilling to understand the people around her. Discovering real magic made it worse.

Hero Complex: Not content just to live in a fantasy world, Eiko wants to be, and subconsciously assumes that she is, the main protagonist. Without consciously admitting it, she thinks of the world like a game. Her respect and consideration for others is largely dependent on how important they seem like they'll be later in the plot.

Basically Mundane: Except where new-found powers temporarily change the situation, Eiko is basically a normal human, with all of the inherent disadvantages of being a squishy, mortal meatbag. None of her powers are smart enough to protect her from any threat she can't, herself, see and sufficiently comprehend.
