The cold winter winds howling about them hadn't felt nearly as cold as the dark steel that had impaled her heart. Yet it is nothing compared to the walls that are now her prison. Walls that are too strong to break, no matter how hard she tries.

If she still had eyes, they would surely hurt from all this brightness. Yet her senses are aware of some things. She keeps on listening to the thundering noises that seems to have raged on for ages. For how long has she had to listen to this incessant thundering noise! Two repeating thuds, over and over and over...! And that voice. Nothing but that voice to keep her company. Surely this must be Hell, because it certainly isn't worthy of being called life.

"I WILL BRING YOU BACK... I PROMISE"

"... free me!"

"JUST BE PATIENT AND I WILL FIND A WAY. I'LL MAKE A WHOLE NEW ONE FOR YOU."

On and on the voice prattles as time seems to drag on and on. During those times she learns to save her strength and listens to the noise. It's only when it's silent that whatever the presence is seems to listen in return. And those times she screams out as loud as she can.

"... give me a body."

"I WOULD IF I COULD MAKE ONE ABLE TO CONTAIN YOUR ESSENCE."

"... I will tell you."

How many nights passes by as she continues screaming at him she does not know. But she screams nonetheless, everything for a chance to escape.

There is no warning when the walls burst open. When her eyes open again breathing becomes difficult and taxing as it was a long time ago, pain rules every sense she possesses. But pain only means one thing.

She is alive...!

The room in ward 17 is dark when the witch opens her eyes again, or at least dark enough save from the lights from the monitors of the medical instruments around the room. Of course, she's in medical and in a state where time matters once more. Her hungry lungs gasp for breath, and she decides to go back to sleep. The steady beeping of the monitoring equipment might have been enough to keep most people awake, but after the noise she had to put up with for what seemed like an eternity, this is close enough to the blessed silence she craves right now.
