I pray for it. |PAge=20s |AAge=Unknown |Aging=No |Height=5'6" |Weight=Unknown |Hair=Black |Eyes=Amber |Voice= |Song= |Profile=The youngest of the four-member Myoukou-class of heavy cruisers, Haguro fought for the Imperial Japanese Navy throughout the latter half of World War 2 and was the last major Japanese warship to be sunk during the war. Returning from the depths as a Fleet Daughter, Haguro is something of a wallflower: Quiet, shy, and incredibly high-strung to the point of apologizing for anything and everything. Despite these setbacks, she's driven by a constant desire to help her allies against the Abyssal Navy as a reliable defender of the weak and source of covering fire. As a heavy cruiser, Haguro is quite versatile in a fight, being able to fight at both close and long range against threats coming from air, sea, and land. Being a jack of all trades does make her less useful for specialized operations, however, and she has a tendency to assume that anything that goes wrong is her own fault. She is also mistrustful of anything British because of her sinking at the hands of the British, and she has a fear of being ambushed or caught alone again. As the opposite of the Abyssals, meanwhile, certain circumstances may also force Haguro to revert to her former identity as a Ri-class heavy cruiser. |Powers=Fleet Daughter: Haguro is not human. The closest approximation of what she is would be "ghost", though even that isn't quite accurate. Poisons and the like don't work very well on her. Her body is overall quite hardy, as she is the personification of a warship designed to both take and cause damage. On the flipside, fire can have terrible effects, carrying the risk of causing a catastrophic explosion in her magazine. |Skills= |Assets=Land Fit-Out: Haguro's preferred equipment when fighting on land or in small-scale sea engagements, this set consists of armor and equipment resembling that of her warship self, including two main turrets fitted to her shoulders and one auxiliary turret on her wrist. As its name suggests, this set is suited primarily for use on dry land, though she can also skate across the surface of any body of water at a rapid pace. Ocean Fit-Out: As an extension of the Land Fit-Out, this calls forth Haguro's original ship body, and the full mass of the Haguro-class cruiser emerges into reality around her. The emergence can be rather destructive. The fit-out becomes her body, and she gains the senses of an entire crew, and the ability to use all her equipment without needing outside intervention. Her own body is within the ship somewhere, seemingly unconscious while her mind controls the ship itself. She has full control of all her shipboard equipment and is thus capable of combating larger foes than the Land fit-out could practically manage. However this has the downside of leaving her more vulnerable to smaller foes, who could outmaneuver her more sluggish movements and larger size. The Ocean Fit-Out is the Fleet Daughter response to Abyssal Leviathan forms. Armaments: Haguro's primary loadout is fairly straightforward: Guns, guns, and more guns. When necessary, however, Haguro can swap out her standard cannons for anti-aircraft guns, torpedos, or even use different types of ammunition to combat different types of enemies. |NPCs=Ri-Class Heavy Cruiser: In the event Haguro is ever sunk, she will return as the Ri-class Heavy Cruiser. Her body becomes distorted into that of an Abyssal monster, most notably replacing the shoulder-mounted batteries with two massive gauntlets with cannons embedded directly into them. She also gains the ability to launch recon planes, although she loses the ability to use her Ocean fit-out in this form. She also loses the ability to swap her cannons for other armaments. In this form, she also becomes significantly more violent and prone to going berserk, capable of utilizing the Abyssals' Leviathan mode to grow to immense sizes. (PL 32) |Disadvantages=Reciprocity: Haguro's fit-outs are all part of her 'self' meaning any damage incured to one translates to the other, and vice versa. She cannot translate from one fit to the other to repair damage, and any damage to her Ocean fit-out can cause severe injury to her Land Fit-out when changing back, depending on how badly damaged she becomes. The trade-off is that any repairs made to her Land Fit-Out carry over to the Ocean Fit-Out, making dedicated drydock facilities unnecessary. Self-depreciating: Being the youngest of the Myoukou-class cruisers, Haguro has a very low perception of her own worth due to her sisters' accomplishments. As such, she's more likely to try and discourage others from doing anything for her sake before taking care of everyone else first. This can result in her completely ignoring her own needs and personal safety, especially in regards to not being sufficiently repaired or resupplied between battles. High-strung: Haguro was originally sunk in an ambush in "Operation Dukedom" by British forces, eventually succumbing to gunfire and torpedos. As a result, Haguro becomes extremely jumpy around both gunfire and torpedoes. She is also unable to remain calm if caught alone, especially if she is ambushed. Due to being sunk by British ships, meanwhile, Haguro is rather mistrustful of anything British as a general matter: Someone of British ancestry, an object of British make, and especially British ships or Fleet Daughters. She is also prone to being stressed out in high pressure situations. Operational Exhaustion: Going out to sea is tiring, both on the body and the mind. Conventional means of healing (medication, certain types of healing magic) do not work on Haguro, and she must rest in the fleet's specialized dockyard to recover. Armor, fuel, and ammunition all need to be managed carefully from the fleet's shared stores. Because of Haguro's low self-confidence, however, this means she is even more likely to be undersupplied and exhausted than other Fleet Daughters. Abyssal Nightmare: As devoted as Haguro is to the other Fleet Daaghters and her allies, reverting into her Abyssal identity as the Ri-class Heavy Cruiser turns everything about her on its head. Rather than trying to help those around her, her main focus would instead shift towards doing as much damage as possible for the Abyssal Navy. Even as a Ri-class, however, she may recognize other Myoukou-class cruisers and hesitate long enough to become a liability. On the other hand, being faced with British ships would be enough to enrage her to the point of going on a unending rampage. Deep Waters: The shift from Abyssal to Daughter and back is a very traumatic one. Memories become confused, muddled, or even entirely buried. Her closer allies can use their links to her through friendship, however, to force her to hesitate in combat, possibly even causing physical pain to the Ri-class. Conversely, enemies that know of her history could use her memories to drive her into an uncontrollable frenzy, a crying mess, or anything in between. Leviathan Syndome: Leviathan Mode has many advantages, but several drawbacks as well. Notably is that, while it levels the playing field against larger opponents, it leaves the Abyssal at a disadvantage against a smaller opponent in a one-on-one battle. It also puts a lot of strain on the Abyssal's body, and cannot be used more than once per any one battle. }}
