Profile

A proper English gentleman by the dictionary, Jonathan holds himself to a strict code of conduct befitting the noblesse oblige of the Joestar family. Possessed by an explosive drive and a personality suited to overcome adversity, every hardship seems to make him crank it up a notch and become even more intense in his efforts to conquer the difficulties presented before him. This big-hearted and resolute attitude endears him easily to others, even more so when they come to hear the tidbits of his sad tale that Jonathan is willing to share. Of his study into a mysterious stone mask, of his father's death at the hands of his adopted brother, Dio, and of the same man's transformation into an inhuman monster that feasts on human life, which prompted the appearance of Jonathan's now deceased master, William A. Zeppeli. Instructed in the Tibetan martial art of Hamon, which applies breathing techniques to generate an energy similar to sunlight, he set forth to eliminate Dio and his followers. Even now, Jonathan searches incessantly for any sign of where the vampire has scurried off to lick his wounds, and of any leads that would give him greater clarity on the nature of the vile Stone Mask that has caused such tragedy in the wake of its misuse.

Disadvantages

What Are You Doing?! Unforgivable!<Trouble>: Jonathan is an honorable man who follows the ethos of gentleman's code. He has very strict concepts of good and evil, and a fiery temper when prompted by what he considers despicable, into action. In such cases, Jonathan is prone to pick a fight regardless of how advantageous it would be to do so in a given situation or how well he could match up to his opponent.

Who'll Be The Last One Standing?!<Trouble>: Possessed by unbreakable willpower, Jonathan's drive isn't always a good thing. It means he isn't afraid to stand his ground and fight for what he believes to be right, with no regard to his chances of victory; his personality is very much prone to make him stand his ground and keep fighting until he dies. While this persistence can be a boon under the right conditions, it can be lethal in the wrong ones.

That's Enough, Dio!<Significant>: In regards to his adopted brother, Dio Brando, Jonathan has tunnel vision. Dio is a Vampire, and Jonathan feels responsible for his inhuman status, which came about due to his research into an ancient Stone Mask. Jonathan will go to any length to contain threats pertaining to the more gothic side of supernatural themes. This goes double for Dio himself, and the Stone Mask whose origins remain yet a mystery to everyone.

No! I Should Have Been There To Protect You..<Significant>: Jonathan's chivalrous nature makes it easy to exploit him through the people he cares about. Threatening his friends or family is a good way to incite him to action, making him easy to lead into traps. His existing Troubles mean that, even if he knows that he's walking into a trap, Jonathan won't back down from that fight.

This Is My Final Ripple..<Significant>: Practice of Hamon requires a very specific manner of breathing. Jonathan has been trained to breathe this way reflexively, but any sort of irregularity in that respiratory pattern will destabalize his abilities with Hamon. Exhaustion, or damage to his respiratory system of any kind, can be devestating as they would strip him of all his Advantages granted by Ripple Breathing.

Where Am I?<Minor>: Being from the late 1800's, just before the turn of the century, Jonathan's scientific knowledge is somewhat limited, even if impressive in his own time. This can be used against him in certain ways, such as with Dio Brando's Space Ripper Stingy Eyes. Without complete understanding of modern medicine and science, Jonathan is susceptible to more advanced strategies that incorporate Modern Technology or Modern Physics.

The group splits up -- some of them making a ruckus at the front, while others take a back route. The team at the front tangles with a dangerous Weapon Master, toughest of the Giant Brothers. The team sneaking in the back way confronts Magnus... and his treachery! Disguising himself as Erina, Magnus attempts to rend Jonathan Joestar's soul.
