Profile

A former Decepticon, Lockdown has since eschewed both sides of the Cybertronian civil war for service to a higher cosmic order. Ostensibly a bounty hunter who takes on any job for the right price, Lockdown is actually the arbiter of a greater power - one he refers to as the creators of his particular brand of Cybertronian life and one whose word has since become Lockdown's unyielding law. In the service of his mysterious benefactors, Lockdown has enacted their bidding across multiple galaxies, ensuring that their perspective on the universe is made manifest. An extension of their will, Lockdown excels at hunting down errant Cybertronians - and dismantling them with extreme prejudice. Not only does Lockdown see his work as necessary but he actively enjoys it, having been a ruthless, merciless killer as a Decepticon, and now granted incredible resources to continue his hunts in exchange for his service. His starship is filled with innumerable trophies courtesy of his defeated foes and prisoners from hundreds of worlds. With every kill, Lockdown grows more powerful. With every kill, Lockdown grows more feared. With every target. there can be no mercy and no respite because, to Lockdown, this is simply the way the universe is, and he is nothing but the skull-faced harbinger of inevitability.

COSMIC ARROGANCE: Lockdown believes he knows the secret order of the universe and that everyone else, particularly his fellow Cybertronians, are misguided children, too busy with petty conflicts and unimportant, irrelevant causes to not see the truth behind the veil. This arrogance extends to everyone he meets - friend or foe - although he is generally smart enough to only be mildly disparaging towards people he is working with. He is, after all, a professional.

TROPHY HUNTER: As much as Lockdown hunts down bounties for payment, he also has a personal interest in taking trophies. Some of these are bits of Cybertronians that he uses to further outfit his own form and capabilities but often they are things to store on his ship. Some of these are prisoners. Some are merely scalps, spinal columns or optics that he keeps as a reminder. Some of them are old relics or ancient pieces of equipment. In any case, Lockdown is something of a magpie.

HEAT SENSITIVE: Lockdown might have an impressive set of armor over his protoform but it all has one distinct vulnerability: Lockdown's armor - and, indeed, his skeletal protoform - is vulnerable to extremes of temperature. 'Hot' weapons, such as plasma, melta or energon-based weapons can cut through his armor without much difficulty. Any damage sustained in such a way requires dedicated repair beyond his form's usual regenerative capabilities.

FREEZE-LOCKED: Extreme lows of temperature are detrimental to Cybertronian life. Even if Lockdown isn't completely frozen over, subzero temperatures turn his systems slow and make his reflexes sluggish. With prolonged period of exposure it can effectively immobilise him and, with more time, put him into an involuntary stasis lock. Bringing cold weapons to bear would almost certainly cause him to back off, if not outright retreat. Whether Lockdown will make the mistake of entering a firefight where that might be a problem, however, remains to be seen...
