We are an application-only role playing site with broad inclusion of characters and settings from anime, video games, movies, books, sci-fi, and more. We are receptive to Alternate Universe takes on existing series, and original characters. |Monster Hunter Zoids||2022-12-03 00:00:00|| Welcome to the land of Verdant Steel - an untamed wilderness where gigantic metal beasts roam amidst robotic flora. Biochemical monsters named 'zoids' live here, their presence making long-term human* colonization impossible and keeping this land wild.
While the land remains wild, there's no small number of groups that have their eyes on it. In opposition to these groups is the multi-factional conservational coalition, codenamed Monster Hunter, with the twin goals of preserving this land and providing sustainable research from it for the betterment of the multiverse at large.
Monster Hunter's efforts could use a boost - be you ferocious fighters, brave explorers, or dextrous craftsmen, there's work to be done at the headquarters on the coast of Verdant Steel. By fortunate coincidence, this entirely altruistic work also happens to involve getting to fight giant robotic monsters.
This is the intro scene. Exploration, problem solving, social, and the possibility of some uncoded combat. No cap and not faction locked, but tagging is helpful so I know how much I should prep for.
|MHZ: The First Expedition||2022-12-05 00:00:00|| This is the part where you get to go fight the giant robots.
Expect csys, and some new combat gimmicks.
|WCW: Against the Whirlwind||2022-12-06 23:30:00|| Forces of the newly formed Wilkian Empire drive the Freedom Forces out of Japan and pursue them further East. In a whirlwind campaign, Japan has been forced into surrender and America has lost control of Hawaii. Respectively, these Imperial victories have been credited to 'monster ships' with spotty intelligence at best.
As the Wilkian Freedom Force continues to press East, seeking refuge with the Americans, one of those monstrous warships makes itself known: High-speed assault cruiser Wirbelwind.
|Kale Hearthward Unsaves Christmas||2022-12-11 00:00:00|| "Okay. Okay, look. I know how this looks. Just hear me out."
"There was a radar ping. Ten biologicals, plus a hammerspace-class anomaly, all in a tight formation. There was no IFF, no answering radio hails. I'm not stupid, I tried to get a visual first, but it was foggy and all I could pick up was a red light at the lead of the formation. Tried to pick up audio, just heard something about comets and blitzes. I did mention that I didn't grow up with the same mythological figures you all have, right?"
"And it was heading towards a major population center. I had to make a call. I think, if you really examine the situation, it was the right call to make, even if it turned out to be... less than a great call in the end."
"And - nobody died, nothing was injured in a way that won't heal, and the driver has a whole team working on repairing the sled. I think things turned out all right, right? But there's a council, and the council is being grumpy, and they don't quite see things the same way, and..."
"Anyway, just... I need someone to come bail me out of Christmas Jail, alright?
|Operation Winter Hazel-2||2022-12-11 23:00:00||The continuation.|
|Step 2: Spike the Ball and Disrespect Em||2023-01-10 00:00:00|| With sacred ink and priceless scroll, Okada Izou now has all the necessary ingredients to put to paper his true final words. By his own admission, Izou is nowhere near an artisan, when it comes to calligraphy. The use of such rare items for such clumsy penmanship would be seen by afficionados as nothing but an insult--to say nothing of the very real insult included in his last words. This insult will be enshrined in a museum, replacing the sanitized, false version of Izou's last words, a comeback one century and a half in the making. There's just one hitch: an unexpected guest who happens to be a scion of the Takechi line. He's got hands.
(OOC: Coded combat, Concord. A reverse heist wherein a descendant of Takechi Hanpeita attempts to stop the Concord from dabbing extra hard.)
