Ri is the restless spirit of a sunken ship, risen from the depths of the ocean in the form of a monster. She is a Ri-class heavy cruiser flagship, and while she does not possess the awareness and power that a gestalt of an entire battle would, she has worked her way up from the depths of madness by being sunk numerous times, and has restored self-awareness, personality, and some of her memories. Responding with aggression towards her enemies, she has been tamed and controlled by other Abyssals - her "sisters" - and has been taught to work with her other allies, and to obey the orders of all of her superiors. She sometimes loses track of her surroundings when there is no one to fight, becoming confused and lost, and open to attack. Her phobia of drowning can be a hinderance if she is forced under water instead of submerging willingly. As a heavy cruiser, Ri is fast for her size, with a powerful armament. Her armor is greater than a light cruiser, granting her considerable physical protection, but her reckless fighting style reduces her accuracy.
DROWNING IN FEAR: Ri's mind sometimes becomes clouded by vague memories of the fear, pain, and despair surrounding her original sinking. In this state, she forgets or doesn't notice her surroundings, and is essentially a sitting target for enemies. If something snaps her out of it, like the obvious arrival of others or an order from a superior, then she is able to respond once she figures out what is happening, but she still tends to be disoriented for a little bit in such a situation.
FEAR OF DROWNING: Most of the time, Ri is fine with being submerged. She doesn't LIKE it, but it's part of being an Abyssal. However, if someone grabs her and forces her under, or if she is starting to sink, or similar, she starts to panic. She can not fight back as effectively in this state, and is more concerned with preventing her drowning than in actually winning a battle.
GOLIATH SYNDROME: Leviathan Mode, while it provides better large-scale combat ability, is not without its issues. It makes it easier for Flagships and Capital Ships to fight larger opponents, but it becomes much more difficult for them to fight smaller opponents in a one-on-one battle. Additionally, there's a significant cooldown time after shifting size, so they can't do so more than once in the course of a single battle.
INELEGANT FIGHTING STYLE: Ri currently has limited use of the ability to plan, especially when under stress, and usually resorts to brute force and savagery instead of tactics or strategies. Unless ordered to do something specific that she can understand and follow precisely, most fights with her tend to be slugfests. She is easy to outwit, and falls for even the simplest traps and deceptions.
SUBMERGED: Ri can survive underwater but suffers a notable reduction to combat ability. She isn't quite as maneuverable underwater and cannot make use of her ship artillery while submerged. This is a trait shared by other Abyssal Ships, save for the submarine types.SUNKEN SHIPYARD: Ri and the Abyssal Ships can't enjoy the healing effects of standard medicine or mechanical repairs. Aside from magical healing, the only way they can be repaired after battle is to return to Iron Bottom Sound, where the aura around the sunken vessels will fix any damage dealt to them over time. This makes field repairs very difficult. Additionally, this healing is not potent enough to make a significant difference in the heat of battle.
