|Rorschach (Scenesys ID: 194)|
|"This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and I'll whisper 'No.'"|

Antihero. Lunatic. Right-wing psychopath. As clear as the division between the black and white of his ever-changing mask, so too has Rorschach divided the world before between into clear realms of good and evil. His only aim is to punish that evil. Brutally. At any cost. Born Walter Kovacs, forgotten child of a prostitute and an absentee father, Rorschach turned to a life of vigilantism shortly after the death of his mother at the age of sixteen. Unconventional, uncompromising, and brutal, he's always found a way to get the job done, and finish what the law cannot. His years of experience in fighting and tracking down the worst of his city's criminals have left him hardened, jaded, and unforgiving of those who don't share his unwavering and sometimes extremist views. Though frequently described as mentally unstable, paranoid, or psychopathic, Rorschach is a brilliant tactician, and an extremely resourceful street fighter. He has no preternatural abilities, but has an unbreakable will, peak-human physical strength, and a host of investigative skills, like lockpicking. Though unstable at times, and unpredictable, Rorschach's support to a cause is a valuable asset, so long as it aligns with his uncompromising set of morals.
Mental Instability: Though extremely resourceful, and tactically brilliant, Rorschach is frequently described as being very unstable. He likely has an extreme case of paranoid personality disorder, and struggles to trust anyone. He inherently mistrusts society and any sort of organization, be it good or bad. Because of his extreme mistrust of others, it is very difficult for him to gain the trust of others, and their loyalty.
Societal Detachment: Rorschach's mental instability and extreme moral absolutism have caused him to effectively exile himself from society. He's stoic, unwavering, and as such, has a difficult time blending in with 'normal' society due to an utter lack of social skills. Coupled with his inherent mistrust of others, Rorschach tends to alienate himself from others. This makes finding and keeping allies rather difficult for him, as he tends to drive others off, even when it is not in his best interest to do so.
Gynophobia: Possibly due to his unsteady and abusive relationship with his mother, Rorschach displays frequent detest and animosity towards love, and especially towards women. He credits love and lust as a distraction from more nobler purposes, and blames it for his city's decadence. While not afraid of women, per se, he demonstrates clear uncomfortableness and mistrust around them.Identity Shift: Ever since he first put on the inkblot mask, Rorschach no longer regarded himself as Walter Kovacs. He reacts violently against anyone or anything referring to him by his old name, which he no longer considers to be his. Furthermore, Rorschach considers his mask to be his true 'face', and will fight to ensure that his 'face' remains intact. His acceptance of the Rorschach persona has become deeply ingrained within his psyche, and he will fight to preserve his new identity.
