Born in Hyrule to be its princess, Zelda was raised to become its ruler. Kindhearted and self-sacrificing, Zelda would do anything to ensure the peace and prosperity of her subjects. Thanks to the blessing of the goddesses, marked by the symbol of the Triforce on the back of Zelda's hand, the princess has always had an exceptional mental acuity. Her keen eyes observe things that others often miss, and she has an attention to detail that is uncanny. Even in mysterious, magical affairs, Zelda's Triforce of Wisdom allows her to understand curses that would befuddle others. The Hylian Princess is not an impulsive woman, often stalling or delaying long enough to think a matter all the way through. As per her nature as a leader, Zelda is likely to send someone to act in her stead rather than take action on her own, but she is more than willing to take up sword or bow to defend her homeland. In times of great need, she can call upon the blessing of the Four Spirits of Light in order to craft the sacred Light Arrows, projectiles magically enhanced to smite evil.
Self Sacrifice - Zelda has always been one to take burdens onto her own shoulders. She would heal a wounded friend even if it cost her the last of her power, and she would accept imprisonment over the death of her own kingdom. She does understand the value of her own well-being, but at the same time she does not consider herself to be more important than others. She will bear any burden she needs to, if it is for the greater good.
Frail - Zelda is not a front-line fighter, and while she has some skill as a warrior she can't really stand toe to toe to some of the more combat-oriented elites in her world. By herself, it would not be difficult for those such as Zant or Ganondorf to simply walk right over her. Her weakness makes it difficult for her to act, and often forces her to rely upon the strength of someone else.
Destiny - Being chosen by the gods has its downsides. Zelda's destined role, while necessary, is hardly ever pleasant. She is likely to be locked away in a tower, forced to watch her kingdom suffer, all while constantly planning and plotting in an attempt to stop some terrible fate. Her destiny is usually inescapable, but it's also something she accepts and endures with grace.
Wisdom Only Goes So Far - Wisdom isn't about knowing everything. It's about doing the best you can with the knowledge you have. In that light, worlds other than her own are often as much a mystery to her as they are to anyone else. To a normal person this isn't as much of a deal, but for someone who's main strength is her keen insight, this tends to take away that ability.Well Excuse Me, Princess - For reasons unknown even to her, Zelda particularly -hates- it whenever someone says this.
