Though the remains of Midgardsormr can still be found entwined around what remains of the massive Imperial airship known as the Agrius.

After the battle with the dragons and the Garlean forces twenty years ago, this place has become wasteland where the Aether no longer flows and the crystals of this land actually rob any form of essence from other aether crystals. It has become dangerous and was also the place where the last stand was held-- including where Bahamut was freed to create his terror upon the world.
