Among various unrelated news reports...

"...catastrophic defeat for the United States Navy in the aftermath of Operation Volcano, the dispatch of the Pacific Fleet to re-take the Hawaiian island of Oahu from the Abyssal 'Black Fleet'. While no American vessels were destroyed in the encounter, many were heavily damaged in just a few short hours and forced to retreat."

While the news anchor reads their piece, the backdrop is filled with an aerial shot of a modern aircraft carrier, being towed by two smaller ships, both also severely damaged. The flight deck is filled with ragged-edged holes and twisted machinery, several of which still spew dense black smoke. The burning wreckage of a fighter jet is pushed overboard into the sea as the anchor continues.
