|Profile=The last remaining member of the Arisu family, Reiji is the latest in a long line of powerful exorcists dedicated to the safety of mankind. Working under the banner of the Shinra Organization, Reiji has spent the last ten years of his relatively short life defending the streets of Tokyo from supernatural threats of all kinds with sword, gun, and his skill as an Onmyoji. He wields his many tools in a complex, fluid fighting style that allows a spiritually mighty but otherwise ordinary man to engage foes who should be far outside of his weight class. Though he comes off as a bit sardonic and humorless at times, Reiji's cool exterior belies his hotheaded tendencies and compassionate heart, both of which occasionally have him rush into situations far larger than he can handle on his own. Fortunately, he's rarely alone; after all, Reiji only fights at his absolute best while alongside his partner, Xiaomu. Recent events have thrown his world into chaos -- the dimensional walls have begun to weaken and tear, drawing in all manner of unusual and bizarre monsters, as well as throwing open the gates to the Multiverse at large. Now, Reiji struggles to discover the source of this dimensional upheaval, putting him on a course that will see him encounter faces both old and new, and may lead him to a confrontation that will finally end a decade-old vendetta.
|Powers=Blood of Arisu: Over the years, the Arisu clan's constant exposure to- and talent for dealing with- supernatural events have imbued them with great spiritual might. This enables Reiji and his clan to activate the magical properties of dormant enchanted items, harm spirits even with purely physical weaponry, and makes them tremendously more effective at doing their job in general. It is this considerable reservoir of power that enables Reiji to utilize his various Onmyodo techniques. His spiritual potency also reinforces his considerable willpower to allow him to resist many forms of spiritual attacks and creatures. (Resistance applies primarily to non-Elites. Consent may be required to resist Elite-level effects.)

Onmyoji: Though less prominent than his martial abilities, Reiji is capable of using Onmyodo to harness the harmonic flow of the Five Elements coursing through the world. He typically does so in combat to bolster his physical abilities at the cost of spiritual energy, or when preparing for battle by enchanting the weaponry and ammunition he intends to use. When he's using his magic for utility, Reiji is able to call upon and attempt to banish or seal spirits, spiritually ward an area, or attempt to repair minor rifts in the world-wall. He's not nearly as experienced as Xiaomu, however, and tends to leave the magic-work to her if he has the choice. If a situation is particularly dire, he can unleash the Arisu Family's Forbidden Art: 'Kimon Fuuji.' By drawing upon the five elements, Reiji can deal considerable damage to a spiritual entity and place it behind a nearly unbreakable seal. Spiritual Senses: Reiji can generally tell when there's something strange in his neighborhood. His sensitivity to spirits enables him to detect their presence, as well as, roughly, what 'type' of entity they are. If something is undead by nature, for instance, he will typically pick up on it. This sense is not infallible -- creatures capable of hiding their true nature can do so, though he will still be able to detect that something nearby is not quite what it seems. This only works for spiritual or magical entities -- he wouldn't be able to identify that someone is an android, for instance, only that they seem particularly 'inanimate' in a spiritual sense. However, there is one particular situation where his senses will never fail to activate. Due to their encounter ten years ago, Reiji has an instinctive knowledge on when a particular Kitsune, Saya, is nearby. Whenever she is close, or approaching via dimensional warp or other means, Reiji's scar begins to ache, informing him of her presence. Of course, depending on where he happens to be in the vast multiverse, his senses may not quite function as he's used to. (Consent may be required.)
|Skills=Omnitactical Battle Hydra: Some warriors dedicate themselves to the mastery of a single weapon. The Arisu Clan and their associates know that rigidity is not the way of the world -- one must flow. Emulating the consumption and generation of all things in nature, Reiji can transition seamlessly from one combat style to the next, swapping from swords to guns to throws to punches and back several times in a single combination. While he lacks the refined technique of more focused fighters, Reiji is still a skilled martial artist and marksman, and his abilities are not to be underestimated. His style is impetuous and relentless, focusing on keeping pressure up on his opponent and not allowing them the chance to develop a defense to any particular avenue of attack. All his training has also left him ambidextrous, enabling him to use two weapons simultaneously without any loss of accuracy or effectiveness. This is where Reiji truly shines, allowing him to stand toe-to-toe with more singularly skilled combatants despite his lack of focus on a single combat style or weapon.

Pair Unit: Reiji does not fight alone. For over a decade, he's been training alongside (and been trained by) his partner, Xiaomu. Together, the two are far more effective than either one is alone. He's perfectly attuned to her combat rhythm, allowing the pair to work together almost flawlessly, despite the friction caused by their vastly different personalities. While cooperating, they also have access to their finishing technique, 'Shinra Bansho,' as well as their Multiple Assault: 'Juu no Kata.' Moreover, Xiaomu can borrow some of Reiji's spiritual power to fuel her more extravagant spells, but doing so too frequently can be hazardous to Reiji's health.

Agent of Shinra: After years at the job and even more time training, Reiji has developed quite the impressive knowledge of supernatural happenings and how to deal with them. While he specializes in fighting eastern apparitions, Reiji knows several common weaknesses of western monsters and spirits as well. This also allows him to identify styles of magic he's familiar with, as well as, given time and study, discern the mechanisms behind a particular enchantment. It also helps him identify magical items and discern their purpose, and whether or not an individual is possessed. Notably, he also knows quite a bit about dimensional instability, as the Arisu Clan is particularly famous for dealing with entities that cross over from other worlds into their own. This skill also encompasses more basic and practical abilities learned in his time as a special agent, including stealth, guerilla tactics and field survival, and accounts for his notable but mundane physical prowess. |Assets=Elemental Arsenal: Reiji owns a variety of weapons, all of which he is tremendously proficient with. These armaments have all been imbued with one form of elemental affinity or another, making them particularly effective against certain supernatural creatures. He stores his arsenal on a portable rack that he typically carries as a bludgeon in his off hand, or sets on the ground while engaging in combat. Reiji's weapons seem to be made for striking in tandem. When particular arms are used simultaneously, the elemental resonance between them increases the power of each individual enchantment. His most formidable combinations take advantage of the Generative order of elements, but he can make use of the Destructive order as well. His guns can be loaded with a variety of ammunition, but he typically sticks to anti-spirit rounds: munition that, as the name suggests, is particularly effective against most apparitions. His weapons currently include:

Hollywood, his shotgun, which is endowed with the power of Wood, causing its shrapnel to penetrate more deeply and spread more widely without losing any killing power. It does additional damage to Earth-aspected creatures.

Chirai is the name of his Earth-infused Wakizashi, which, by the peculiarities of the Wu-Xing system, is capable of discharging arcs of magical electricity. It is particularly dangerous to water-based foes.

Gold, his pistol, is enchanted with the hardening energies of Metal, making each shot pack significantly more punch than ordinary rounds, and dealing additional damage to wood-aspected creatures.

Karin, his katana, carries a Fire enchantment, allowing Reiji to ignite the blade and any foe it strikes; Karin is particularly effective against enemies associated with the element of Metal.
|NPCs=Shinra Contacts: Working for a shady government agency has its perks. An organization that, officially, does not exist, Shinra is sworn to safeguard Japan against supernatural threats of all kinds. Its history stretches back long before the Meiji era, when exorcists and Onmyoji first defended the Imperial court from monsters and ghosts. While they are certainly not a public organization, Shinra still receives a considerable amount of funding from the Japanese government, and has access to vast reserves of resources and information both mundane and supernatural. Their headquarters, located in Roppongi, is dedicated to coordinating, training and maintaining its personnel, while also serving as a considerable deterrent against direct spiritual attacks on the capital city. The organization has developed a wide network of contacts and informants throughout Japan and beyond, keeping them abreast of any supernatural happenings and of possible dimensional anomalies. Reiji maintains an open line to headquarters whenever possible, and can call upon fellow agents for additional manpower, supplies or information whenever necessary. These contacts are presently only useful for information within his homeworld, but with the expansion of the multiverse, it may be possible for them to begin branching out. (Consent may be required.)
|Disadvantages=Xiaomu: Xiaomu has been with Reiji for years. She's been tremendous pillar of support for him since his father's death and, despite their occasional disagreements, she is very important to him. Though he knows that she can defend herself just fine on her own and, in most cases, he doesn't need to worry too much about her, he will go to extremes to safeguard her life if the situation demands it. At the same time, it's spectacularly easy to manipulate Reiji if she is used as leverage against him. However, should anyone harm her -- or threaten her life without a way to properly back up their claims -- he will go out of his way to make them regret it.

Vendetta: Ten years ago, the were-fox, Saya killed Shougo Arisu and critically wounded his son. Years before that, she murdered his mother. Today, Reiji Arisu harbors a tremendous grudge, not only against that woman in particular, but against the entire Ouma Project, which she represents, and any who might associate with them. Reiji will stop at nothing to end their ambitions, even if it means putting himself at great personal risk.

Compassionate Heart: Despite his many grievances, Reiji is still a deeply compassionate man. He will always prioritize the safety of civilians over nearly anything else, and frequently goes out of his way to ensure collateral damage is kept to an absolute minimum, and is prone to unnecessarily throwing himself into danger to protect innocent lives. Enemies who know of this tend to exploit it ruthlessly, and so Reiji endeavors to conceal it behind a mask of professionalism. Unfortunately, it generally doesn't take long to notice that he's intentionally taking steps to protect the public, so most discerning evil-doers will be able to pick up on his soft heart relatively quickly.

Cosmic Straightman: Xiaomu is a Mystic Fox who definitely acts neither her species nor her age. Dealing with her antics for much of his life has left Reiji somewhat impervious to most forms of comedy, and what mirth he does exhibit tends to be laced with a heaping helping of dry wit and sarcasm. Some people might take it the wrong way, but really it's mostly just habit by this point; Reiji really is a good deal more optimistic and friendly than his particular brand of humor might suggest. Unfortunately, any attempt to break out of his role tends to come off as kind of forced, or else the universe will conspire against him to maintain what it seems to have come to expect.

Father's Shadow: Reiji still hasn't quite gotten over his father's death, and often feels as though he's walking in Shougo's shadow -- but he certainly won't tolerate anyone speaking ill of the man. Mentioning his father's death in any disrespectful terms is a quick way to trigger Reiji's temper, and insulting the man is a great way to start a fight. Clever foes can take advantage of this. Less intelligent ones can push him too far -- which never ends well for anyone involved. Moreover, situations that remind him of the circumstances of his trauma can easily set him off, either out of desperation or anger, and can cause him to act more impulsively and recklessly than he normally would.

Tasty Blood: Monsters of all stripes love the taste of Arisu Blood. Just like any spiritually powerful mortal, Reiji smells particularly delectable to demons, youkai and spirits who might seek to devour his flesh to increase their own power. Reiji's heritage makes him something of a magnet for ghosts and goblins and other similar critters in general, and, though he's usually equipped and able to handle all comers, he might one day attract a threat he can't simply fight away on his own. This also means he's relatively easy to follow with magic unless hes actively covering his tracks, and enables most spiritually aware creatures, divinities and individuals to easily detect the potency of his bloodline.
