Although loyal members of the Imperial Inquisition for many years, the upper hierarchy of Imperial command has suspected [[Inquisitor Starkiller|Galen Marek]] and his pilot, [[Juno Eclipse]], of disloyalty and Rebel sympathy, as well as an unprofessional bond with one another unsuitable for a Sith assassin. To test their Imperial loyalties, the Empire assigns them to a seemingly routine mission to destroy a Rebel base – with the twist that the facility also houses a large number of Rebel civilians.

Unable to cope with the thought of slaughtering helpless innocents, the Inquisitors balk, and the Imperial authority on location, Captain Riaul of the I.N.S. ''Retribution'', declares them deserters and traitors, and orders their ship destroyed and the Inquisitors killed. With the help of the [[Starbound Flotilla]] and the Union members [[Lowri Revan-Shan|Revan]] and [[Kyle Katarn]], they manage to get away from Imperial and Confederate forces; unbeknownst to them, Revan is a Union ally, and so they are also declared enemies of the Confederacy as well. Although their ship, the ''Rogue Shadow'', is critically damaged they manage to escape with help from their allies, seeking sanctuary in Flotilla space.

[[Darth Vader]], Emperor Palpatine's right-hand man and the second most powerful man in the Empire, has issued a bounty for the return of either Marek and Eclipse or their corpses, as well as the return of their ship, the ''Rogue Shadow''. The bounty also extends to include anyone aiding and abetting the criminals, and a large reward is likewise offered for any information on their whereabouts or the identities of people found harbouring or offering them assistance.

With their ship critically damaged, the former Imperials must now determine a means to acquire the Imperial parts needed to repair it – even if it means thieving them from right under the Empire's nose...

+With their ship critically damaged, the former Imperials led a raid on the Sienar Fleet Systems' advanced research facility on the Core World of Corulag – an insane and high-risk operation on the best of days. Juno Eclipse was captured and the ''Rogue Shadow'' impounded; after being interrogated by Vader, she was transferred with great public pomp and circumstance to a ''Lictor''-class prison ship bound for Mustafar. The ship was intercepted by the Starbound Flotilla and their allies, as well as Galen Marek; in the midst of a pitched shipboard battle, Juno was rescued and returned to Flotilla space to recuperate.
