"Ah... Vesta?!"

The young girl gasped, feeling her hair tugged and let down in the smooth, simple motions. "What are you doing?" she asked her Familiar, the feline woman behind her fussing with the hair now tumbling loosely down her back.

"Mistress, it's my job to take care of you in every way," Vesta insisted. "That includes making you feel nice! Doesn't this feel nice? You're so tense..." Fingers brushed through hair, smoothing it with a gentle tug. Nanoha had to admit... it did feel nice.

"Mn," the child relented. The discolored light of dimensional space filtered through her window, soothing yet at the same time disquieting. It was a reminder... a reminder of the days of fear and terror, of constantly running, of fighting and aches and pains. Of the ridiculous speed of the one who had nearly killed her.

She sighed.

"Mistress?" Vesta purred, leaning in and wrapping the child in a hug. Nanoha happily leaned back into the embrace, closing her eyes as her beloved familiar gave her that warmth and companionship.

"It's all right, Vesta," she finally said. "Soon... we can see them again soon. We just have to keep going a little longer."
