Tinyplot: Power Games

Yagami Hayate (558) has posed:
The signal is coming from a fairly backwater world. Technically under TSAB jurisdiction, it doesn't actually have anything but a small outpost, certainly nobody capable of responding to the Wolkenritter. Maybe some Class C mages, at best, or a disgraced B Class. Really nobody a threat even to the weakest of the group!

So who sent the signal? That isn't quite clear yet, but anyone who knows the Wolkenritter can spot them... in an open market in the small town, picking out vegetables. Well, technically one of the two young girls with them are picking them out. One in a wheelchair, currently doing the haggling, while another one with pink hair wearing a hat, who looks a little pale and frail. It's a small town, too, so they're easy to find. Signum is pushing the wheelchair.

Okay, and someone who is REALLY alert may be aware of the sniper that's keeping a bead on the group, set in a mostly-decorative tower. They're using a Device rifle, but it's still obviously a rifle.

Flint Hawke (320) has posed:
Flint is here, hovering around next to the girl in the wheelchair. He looks to be in mostly good spirits and is here to help out as a wallet and funder for Hayate's and Chikade's shopping trip. The space rogue is keeping careful tabs, coat pulled up and collar wrapped around his neck and face. Hat is pulled low and his cheerful demeanor towards the girls is only interrupted by brief moments to make sure he's not about to be ambushed.

"Wow, loves. Getting such fresh ingredients! I think old Cooky is gonna be jealous that I'm spoiling you two by takin' ya shopping. Might get a thorn in his hide about it!" He ribs to them both, taking a moment to laugh loudly and put his hands into his pockets. It mostly looks like him faffing about, but Flint is also carefully putting himself between Hayate and anyone on street level who looks like they might threaten her, try to pickpocket her, or just bump her wheelchair wrong.

Beelzebumon (132) has posed:
Beelzebumon can be pretty observant when he wants to be, and today is one of those days.

Sitting on a rooftop of his own with a half eaten apple in his hand, the Demon Lord keeps an idle watch over the hovering sniper, looking quite unconcerned with the fact that someone with such a dangerous weapon is on overwatch. In fact, if anything, he is rather curious about the whole affair, watching to see if this sniper is a would-be assassin waiting for the perfect shot or a guardian angel watching from on high with swift death promised for those who would threaten their charge.

Either way, it should be fun.

Quentyn Westwind (635) has posed:
Truth be told, Quentyn doesn't have the slightest idea what a Wolkenritter is. But didn't that signal come from a world he'd been to before? And the white mage did say something about helping out over the radio the other day... and so, here he is once more, despite the pending exam. 'Wolkenritter' sounds like a maybe bad thing, so he's got his ridiculous rifle assembled, but slung behind him.

Actually in his hands? A notebook. Hm. Wolkenritter, wolkenritter... Quentyn fiddles with his glasses as he looks around. Anything he first sees that looks like a monster will probably get the label Wolkenritter.

Kimiko Shinobu (570) has posed:
Kimiko arrives with a level of haste that makes her entrance pretty obvious for anyone on long-range lookout for such--though once she's in the general area, she pauses before continuing on to the point where she'd be in visual range of anyone without a good vantage point. From that distance, she proceeds with more careful calm, transformed but unarmored, in the general direction of where people are gathered.

As she does, she tries to raise the local TSAB, to summarily identify herself and get a more detailed report.

Maya has posed:
Maya got the signal from the TSAB region but here she was coming again. It was once again the terror of those undead weapons let lose once more she has to wonder who put the call out for help but for now she's got to focus on the things that are coming. She narrows her eyes as she arrives and looks to Runner as he comes along side her her.

"This let's go Runner."

Seto Kaiba (623) has posed:
Kaiba, honestly, isn't quite sure what a Wolkenritter is, or why it would need to be apprehended. But, all he knows is that this is a message that likely /wasn't/ meant to be heard by the general public. And, this would be why he responded. Something that, quite possibly, is meant to be a secret, could potentially be useful to him. What is more, he's trying to get his face out there a bit. Get Kaiba Corp, and its strength, known to the Multiverse as a whole.

Rather than approach /subtly/, though, he's deciding to be incredibly obvious. Which is why he is taking the jet. Specifically, a jet shaped likea Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Though he is unaware who put out the signal, or where best to respond to, he has a good idea of where to look first. And that would be the place where a ton of Elites are gathering. How can he tell that these people are Elites? Well, for such a small and backwater planet, certain people are going to /stick out/. Much like he is.

His Blue-Eyes jet lands in the street, near the middle of the market. It may or may not knock over some stands, and he may or may not just toss people a wad of cash to make the annoyance of 'oh god my market stand is ruined' go away.

On his left arm is his duel disk, as per usual. He looks rather casual as he walks up to the forming group.

"So, what is this Wolkenkritter, and why did the Multiverse as a whole need to hear about it?"

Despite the transmission probably being a leak, he's still going to /act/ like it was intentional, so that whoever made it can save face. Also he isn't one hundred percent sure the group he is approaching are elites, so just making sure all of them are here for the same thing will help him narrow it down a bit.

Testarossa Fate (401) has posed:
The Wolkenritter. What are they up to now? Picking up on the radio broadcast results in another TSAB fugitive appearing on site, in an overly dramatic clap of thunder that lands her and a red-haired wolf woman at her side on a nearby building rooftop, geared up, in Barrier Jacket and ready to go, Fate Testarossa... Has to pause.

    Nothing is happening here.

No fighting, no explosions, no mana getting slung everywhere.

"Feeeeito, are you sure you got the coordinates right?" Arf says scratching the back of her head.

[COORDINATES ARE SPECIFIC.] Bardiche replies for his now very confused looking master. [NO MISTAKE WAS MADE.]

    Just... Nothing is happening?

Fate actually de-materializes from her Barrier Jacket, and Arf tucks her fuzzy doge ears into her hair as the two opt to slip away from their landing point a little more quietly before the TSAB can notice THAT.

Yagami Hayate (558) has posed:
Well, that's certainly an entrance, for some people. Fortunately for Fate, the renegade from the TSAB is not detected due to a DRAGON-SHAPED JET landing in the street. This causes a great stir, especially from the girl in the wheelchair and her entourage. Signum glances at Flint, "This doesn't bode well. We should probably move."

Hayate tucks her selection in with a sigh, "We'll take these, then," she offers, though it's less than what she wanted.

Zafira, the silver-haired man with all the girls and Captain Hawke, says quietly, "We should just move casually away. Avoid attracting attention."

Raising the TSAB does get a response for those who try. "We're still en-route. We have a team of Ground Mages coming up on the reported position, but we think it was a bounty hunter calling it in. They could mess up the entire attempt."

Beelzebumon gets to see that EXACT thing happening. The rifle hums as it powers up, and the man grunts, muttering softly, "Lots of attention. I'm going to take a shot at the one who looks like the Master. If I can take 'em out, that will solve the whole problem. We'll be rich. Stand by to grab the Book."

And he does take the shot. A lance of blue light shoots out from the... book depository. Right toward Flint Hawke.

Beelzebumon (132) has posed:
From his vantage point on high, Beelzebumon has a perfect view of what's about to happen as the sudden arriving jet draws in everyone's attention... save for his. Instead, he sees the subtle shift in the sniper's posture and recognizes it as someone who is about to take the shot...

And without a moment of hesitation, Beelzebumon interferes.

With a sudden snap of his arm, he sends the apple core in his hand hurtling towards the sniper's rifle, knocking it to the side just as the gunman takes his shot.

Flint Hawke (320) has posed:
Flint Hawke nods his head to Signum and then tosses a couple plastic cards at the man running the stall, "Multiversal Credits. Keep the change, mate." Flint says with a smile on his face as the jet lands in the street. Flint himself has casually placed himself between the jet and Hayate for this action. Sick girls don't need dust and dirt kicked up in their faces.

He'd normally go lecture Kaiba about this, but he does agree with Zafira, "Yeah, let's just try to meander on out. We don't wa-" A lance of blue light streaks towards him and Flint's Pure senses it before he does. Raphael immediately prepares to be shot, pumping energy from Them into him. Luckily, thanks to Beelzebumon, the shot goes wide.

99 times out of 100, Flint's instinct upon being shot at is to run for cover or just cut and run in general. This is the hundredth and there's a reason why, "Sniper!" He barks, stepping not into cover but into the direct line of fire and between Chikade and Hayate and the sniper position, "Stay behind me. Get them out of here."

His gaze trails up to the vantage point on high. Beelzebumon gets a slight nod of his head and a salute via two fingers to Flint's big captain's hat. And then Flint draws a big blaster pistol from his belt. But... Hayate is here.

So he sets it to non-lethal. In a serious fashion, he raises it up towards the sniper's firing spot and cracks of a shot. It'll stun. It'll hurt like hell. But it won't kill.

Maya has posed:
Maya :uis going to do what she can and she attemps to get ahold of the locals. She geta an answer a bounty hunter called it in? She cna't fault them for doing it at all not with these plague things running wild really. She moves in now rifle ready and is just arriving as things may be getting interesting.

Quentyn Westwind (635) has posed:
And then someone lands a strange airship right in the market. Quentyn gapes for a moment, then jots down a few notes. He looks especially interested when Seto asks about Wolkenritters, but the boy's content to remain in the background and listen.

And then they're being shot at. Quentyn reflexively crouches and gets behind whatever meager cover happens to be there (is this the sort of city with newpaper vendors or fixed trash bins?) while slinging his rifle into his hand. After he hastily puts the notebook away anyway. He sights in the irons but doesn't fire yet.

Kimiko Shinobu (570) has posed:
"Understood." So, a bounty hunter. At that, Kimiko hurries up--in time to see a jet of bizarre design coming down. It doesn't /look/ local, though of course she can't be sure... until she notices that it's landing in a market instead of an airstrip. Then she really puts on the speed, feet hitting the ground hard enough to make her seem like she's flying with each step, one after another.

She won't be in time to do anything about the sniper, of course. She only notices the shot after he's fired. At least she's managed to identify Signum by that point--and by extension, Yagami. Kimiko's armor appears in a flash at about the same moment as the sniper rifle goes off, a reflexive deployment that comes with a hardening of her expression.

Between her haste and the rapidly changing situation, it's all she can do to avoid colliding with anyone in the party as she barrels /through/ the group. In her hands, a similarly hastily summoned, metal staff will serve to halt her only after she's passed by.

Testarossa Fate (401) has posed:
Once off the roof and wandering the streets, Fate and Arf are just two girls going for a walk. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary as they try to determine just WHERE the Wolkenritter are and what they could be up to.

Fate still has a score to settle with Signum after all.

"Aaaaaa Feeeeeitoooo! Look look!" Arf is presently distracted by the smell of food from a market stand, proceeding to drool hungrily, until the small blond hooks her finger under the much larger woman's collar and starts dragging her along.

    "But Fate! Ramen!"

The crack and report of a rifle round immediately makes priorities change.

"Later." Fate whispers in a hiss. And the two are walking a LOT faster. Doing best to cover ground faster while not attract attention. But Fate already has Bardiche in hand, in his triangular medallion-shaped Standby form.

It's not long before the blonde and her wolf come across Hawke. And the Wolkenritter.

"Ohhhhh! HI CAPTAIN!" Arf is as cheery as ever, but Fate's gaze turns to a hyperborean glower. Until she spots something that makes her abruptly drop her expression of steel for a more confused stare. It's the wheelchair-bound girl and the pink-haired child that draw Fate's attention completely in the middle of what is probably about to turn into chaos.

    "... You two...?"

Seto Kaiba (623) has posed:
And, no one present answers Kaiba's question on what a Wolkenritter is. He doesn't sigh or show his dissapointment, though. Instead, he's going to go into action. Especially as the shot bursts out of the book depository, of all places. Whatever a Wolkenritter is, something /is/ going down now.

Kaiba reaches into his holster, and pulls out his weapon. His deck. Slotting it into the Duel Disk, he proceeds to draw five cards, glancing them over a bit. Despite the likely chaos in the area, of people fleeing as some sort of weird shot now? He's remaining amazingly calm.

And, he smirks a bit as he looks at the cards in his hand. Normally, he has a pretty good poker face. But the fact that his poker face is breaking just minorly is not a good sign, most likely.

He announces, aloud, as if anyone really /cares/ all that much.

"I set one Monster, and I set two cards face down."

And, as he sets the three cards on his Duel Disk, the Duel Disk emits a hologram. Three holographic cards float in Kaiba, set face down so no one can see them. They are placed between where Kaiba is, and where the shot came from. He's trying to get a good idea of what is going on, but again, no one is telling him what is going on.

And so he's going to ask again.

"Will /someone/ tell me what the hell is going on?"

Yagami Hayate (558) has posed:
Kaiba does get an answer. "Wolkenritter?" Okay, a confused look. But ONE person does know. They step up after grabbing some cash and shrug, "Wolkenritter are a myth. A legend. The knights guarding the Book of Darkness, said to destroy world after world." How accurate that is, since most people seem clueless, is up to debate.

The sniper curses as his shot goes wide, and the shot also means people are scattering! It does hit a civilian in the back, but it's a Mid-Childan rifle, and thus nonlethal. It's still strong enough to make a loud CRACK and the undefended civilian goes down like a bag of dirty laundry.

Signum wheels the chair around and snaps, "We're leaving, now!" Only to have Kimiko blow through her, making her freeze when she sees the familiar face. Uh oh. And now... Fate is arriving. This is bad news... right?

Not for Hayate, who does scream as Chikade bravely grabs hold of her to lend support. That's when Fate shows up, and Chikade and Hayate both freeze and stare for a moment. "Ah! From the hospital!"

Meanwhile, Maya and Quentyn have their own things to worry about! Quentyn, especially, has someone nervously approaching, "Ah... you're from offworld, so you wouldn't know that mass-based weapons are ill-" He doesn't finish before a strange, purple-haired young girl 'scates' out on a shimmering barrier of green light, two knives of energy blazing into existence. She ignores the group and is heading right for the Wolkenritter.

Yagami Hayate (558) has posed:
Shamal puts a hand on Hawke's shoulder. "We'll get her out of here, but you should come too. Before things get out of hand. Vita and Zafira can handle this. They targeted you."

Quentyn Westwind (635) has posed:
It's actually not the stranger that pulls Quentyn's eyes off the sights and attention away, but the civilian going down. He stays crouched behind cover, but aether gathers around him as he casts a fairly powerful Cure on the poor victim, following up with a Regen. Can't hurt to be safe.

Then he turns back to the fellow that got cut off. "Um--what about mass-based weapons?" Quentyn asks hurriedly. He doesn't peek over the cover to try and catch sight on the enemy sniper again.

Flint Hawke (320) has posed:
Flint doesn't stop Kimiko, actually, since it seems she's moving into a defensive position. The Pirate Captain adjusts his hat and grips the gun in his hand. He actually says to Kimiko, "Our problems aside, I think we can settle them later for what's happening right now, yeah?" He asks in a serious tone. His grudge with Kimiko is superceded by his loyalty to the Wolkenritter and their Mistress, as well as Chikade. He's hoping Kimiko feels the same way about people firing into crowds of civilians.

"Arf, love, I'm so happy to see you I could kiss you, but we're a bit busy here. Mind lending a hand?" He notes, ducking back into a defensive position and following as Signum moves to wheel the chair. Shamal is here, and when she puts her hand on his shoulder, he smiles at her.

"I'm not leavin' my crew behind. In for an ounce, in for a ton. Get them out first, then come back for me." He figures it will be faster to get the two girls and come back for him later.

The skating bounty hunter has his attention now. When she's coming in towards the Wolkenritter, Flint tries to catch her with a smoothly-placed clothesline, wanting to take her off her feet. This may not be as effective as he wishes, though. His Pure isn't in survival mode quite yet.

Seto Kaiba (623) has posed:
At this point, Kaiba at least has an idea of what the Wolkenritter /are/. And they sound completely dangerous. And people whom he would want a favor from.

And, from who is being aimed at, he has a good guess of who the Wolkenritter are. Looking at the group who are, in fact, the Wolkenritter, he just casually asks, "You the Wolkenritter? Need some help?"

And, without even waiting for a response, he goes into action /anyways/. He flips a card face up. "I activate my Acid Trap Hole, to target my own monster... The Maiden with Eyes of Blue. And due to its effect... I can special summon one Blue-Eyes White Dragon directly from my deck!"

The face down monster card on the field flips up, and a incredibly beautiful woman appears. She has flowing white hair, soft blue eyes, and she wears a beautiful brown dress.

And then she immediately falls into a pit of acid, where she dissolves.

And, said dragon appears. It stands in front of the Wolkenritter, ready to guard.

"But, I can still act! And I still haven't normal summoned this turn! So... Spell Card! Photon Tokens. I use this to special summon two Tokens, which I will immediately tribute to summon..."

Briefly, two balls of light appear, behind the girls. But, immediately, they vanish in a small burst of light, as a new monster appears.

     "A /second/ Blue-Eyes."

But, with /so many/ people still around, Kaiba is just going to /keep/ acting. So, towards /anyone/ who has even acted /remotely/ hostile to the Wolkenritter, he plays another card.

"And finally... Swords of Revealing Light!"

Throughout the battlefield, swords of light appear, trying to bar off the path towards the Wolkenritter, while still leaving those who Kaiba is throwing his hat in with free to move a bit.

Testarossa Fate (401) has posed:
This is all, instantly, so much more complex.

Fate is left stalled and halted, staring at Hayate and Chikade, in the middle of complete chaos. Immediately... That young voice from over the broadband is so much more familiar.

Memories dance behind the blonde's burgundy eyes; a hospital; a night of horror, an accident that wasn't supposed to happen. Fighting in blasted out and cramped halls, the dead picking themselves back up and hungrily devouring the living. And two scared little girl locked in their room, hiding from the nightmarish walking dead, and left to an unknown fate in the aftermath of a dimensional quake.

In an instant. Fate Testarossa is overcome with the feeling as if she's the most horrible person in the whole universe.

"It... Was you this whole time..."

    [SIR.] Bardiche pings lowly,

A single backwards step and Fate's clothes flare a brilliant gold, replaced with her Barrier Jacket all over again as she grasps the now axe-shaped Device.

    "Arf *help* them."

    Priorities have changed.

    "Riiiiight~!"

Just like that the red haired woman lets her ears poke right out of her hair, WHIRLING on her heels. It's not just a clothesline. Arf's arm joins Flint's in an attempt at a DOUBLE-CLOTHESLINE.

Fate however is a bit busier elsewhere. Just like that she's reaching to simply scoop Hayate out of her chair, her other hand reaches for Chikade.

    "We're going. Now."

Maya has posed:
Maya :finds that she has someone coming after them.

"Wait mass based weapon would be..."

She gets the idea about her gun and is going to have to shift to magic she pause for a moment moving to do what she can to help. She sees them runa nd doens't fault them for it as Kaiba is doing his summon thing maya makes u her mind to also unleahs some of the heavy magic. She causes a barrage of pillars of water at the enemy.

"Solid slug seems to be a bad idea focus on energy or magic!"

Kimiko Shinobu (570) has posed:
Not quite as planned, but Kimiko is given the chance to adapt. She digs in her heels, is about to tumble into a forward roll, and counters the rotation with a strike from her staff against the ground, in a snap-spin in the opposite direction. The result is a backflip that carries her more toward where she'd /intended/ to stop--near the girl in the wheelchair. That Flint was the sniper's target is not in the slightest clear to her.

"Nn," an affirmative grunt, to the captain. Despite her distrust of the man, she's barely looking at him at the moment. She might have different priorities if she knew that sniper's weapon was fully non-lethal, but in fact, she has no idea of that, either.

"Situation... not contained." She transmits those words back to the TSAB. She has a poor opinion of the, to put it mildly, exaggeration previously given by the bounty hunters. The Wolkenritter are hardly ready for pick-up. In fact, she doesn't believe they /could/ be taken out here, at least not without unacceptable levels of risk to everyone nearby. The bounty hunters might surprise her in that regard, but she doubts it.

"Advising withdrawal." Above all, she just doesn't like taking risks with civilians in the line of fire.

Fate gets a sharp look, but recognition and recall of their first meeting stops her from doing more than twitch a hand in her direction. The sniper's direction then has her full attention. Staff still in one hand, she summons a kite shield in the other.

Yagami Hayate (558) has posed:
"They're banned!" The man shouts from the doorway where he took cover. "What is going on?!" He's utterly confused and terrified now, of course, but at least the civilian who was shot is rolling over and looks like he'll live and... probably recover, actually. So that's good, right?

Meanwhile, the Wolkenritter make to fight Fate and Kimiko... right up until it's clear Kimiko isn't going to attack them and is advising them to get out. Which they can agree on! Hayate squeaks, "Ah! You know Captain Hawke?!" Chikade just shakes her head, "Don't get too excited, Hayate!" The reason is pretty clear, because in Fate's arms the girl is already clutching her chest and wheezing badly. She's holding up pretty well, all told, but is in obvious pain. Yet Signum gives a small nod to Kimiko and Fate, agreeing to let them handle it if Hayate is all right with it.

Vita, the tiny girl in braids with a funny hat that has a bunny on it, has previously not been mentioned! In a moment, a massive hammer is in her hands. To Kaiba, "Hey! I like your style!" That is pretty awesome, after all. She takes to the air, and with a shimmering series of blasts of red, sends several summoned metal spheres about the size of a ball bearing toward the sniper's position.

Signum moves next to Kimiko and Flint. "Too many civilians here for a proper fight, no time to cast a barrier. We'll take the jet and owe the favor." She turns toward Kimiko. "Thank you." A simple statement, but clearly meant for showing reason.

However...

The sliding bounty hunter, instead of going right by everyone, is slammed by Maya! She hits the wall hard with a grunt, and the more experienced combatants can tell that while she's good, she's no match for the Wolkenritter. Or... most of the combatants here, actually. She really overestimated herself, even with support from the sniper who is now pinned down. "Wha?" There's also the fact that the target is suddenly HEAVILY protected! "Summons?! That's not in our intelligence! Why-" She doesn't get to finish what she's saying, because she's decked by Arf and Flint, tumbling end over end.

The TSAB contacts Kimiko over radio, "Agreed. We don't have enough firepower to make a difference, and there are too many civilians here." For once, the TSAB of this world is reasonable!

Where are Zafira and Shamal? The buff wolfman and the pretty blonde woman are retreating toward the jet, but exchange a look. In the chaos, Shamal's hand vanishes behind the door of the jet... and some might notice that she's carrying the tiny replica of the book. If anyone is close to Maya, they'll see a slender, female hand erupt from Maya's chest, clutching a gleaming marble-sized orb, which pulses and shrings as energy flows into the hand...

Testarossa Fate (401) has posed:
Fate has managed to regain her ice wall composure just enough to flash a glance of pure liquid nitrogen over her shoulder at Kimiko. But at the moment she is busy. Hayate is wheezing. Never a good sign.

    "Yes. We'll talk later."

The reply is simple. Curt as she gets Hayate in her arms, her other gauntlet-clad hand grasping Chikade.

    "Bardi<span style="color:he."

    c#ffec8b">[YES SIR. DIMENSIONAL TRANSFER.]</span>

In a flare of brilliant golden light, the Device begins running the calculations, once he has the coordinates to Flint's ship. He pin-points the medical of the Black Sun, in specific, before a loud CLAP of thunder sounds off.

And just like that they're gone.

Arf paws at the back of Flint's coat. "Heeeeeeyyyy... Soooo... You started stocking ramen on that ship of yours, right?"

Seto Kaiba (623) has posed:
Kaiba doesn't feel that there is much reason to interrogate the bounty hunters. The others here likely know who hired them. The Wolkenritter can probably explain, too. But still, he is at the point of getting the planet destroying beings on his good side. And keeping bounty hunters scared away would probably help with that.

He does play another card, though, defensively. It floats in front of him. Just in case these inept bounty hunters prove more dangerous than they have shown so far. Also, for tributes later. Still, though, this is only part of what Kaiba is doing.

"NOW! My Blue-Eyes! DESTROY THEM WITH YOUR WHITE LIGHTNING ATTACK!"

And, the Blue-Eyes comply. While this isn't /meant/ to be deadly, it very wel could end up being so. Each of the Blue-Eyes are aiming vaguely in the direction of the bounty hunters. One has a bit of a clearer shot, though it's trying not to hit Maya as well.

The other has less clear of a shot, and instead is more or less just trying to bring down the bookstore with its powerful beam-shaped breath attack.

Kaiba himself begins slowly making his way to his jet. He wants to make sure everyone is covered.

And, as for Vita, Kaiba just makes a bit of an annoyed sound. He doesn't want to let her know that he likes having his ego boosted, and also wants to make this seem like not a big deal.

"I don't need your compliments. I just want to wrap this up, fast."

Flint Hawke (320) has posed:
Content with laying out the bounty hunter, Flint adjusts his hat and promptly gives Arf a fist-bump, dapping his hand with her gauntlet, "Thanks, babe." Of course, THEN as he turns around and starts to assess the situation, she's pawing at the back of his coat.

"Oh, yeah, we carry Raw Man on the ship now," He reassures her, "Our chef has been practicing in case you visited. I think Miss Yagami will really help him get it right as our new Cook." He smiles to Arf. Of course, Signum indicates it's time to go, and Zafira and Shamal are retreating.

"We should go," He notes to Arf and, unless she particularly resist it, he would pick her up in a princess carry (Because how many excuses to do this to Arf will he ever get) and starts to run towards the jet. He'll take evacuation where we can get it.

Maya has posed:
Maya :is able to bring them down for a moment she looks to see the bhunter fodr a moment she's moving in intent to just bring them down but that's not how things are going to play out. Maya's got a lot of experiance but she's not all knowing and had been focused elsewhere. This is what costs her she has no idea about Shamal before it's too late she feels something tearing into her shet lets out a strangled scream as her attacker.

Her body arches forward she's not sure what's going on for a moment as something imporant some that's inantely a part of her and every other child of Septerra is being stolen from her.

She's not able to do anytthing and she's going to have to trust Kaiba's aim on this one. Not that's she's aware of too much given what's happening.

Quentyn Westwind (635) has posed:
Quentyn just kind of stares blankly at the man, then his rifle. Pinned down by a sniper and he's worried about /that/? Ok, maybe not so pinned after Kaiba's dragons. And half the people present disappear or retreat. The white mage looks over that previously hit civilian quickly but thoroughly and, apparently deciding they're fine, uses the opportunity provided by the others' attacks and retreat back to a warpgate himself.

Kimiko Shinobu (570) has posed:
Hayate and her probably-also-a-civilian friend have left with Fate. Kimiko does not consider this /entirely/ safe, but it was the only practical choice at the time. That leaves--some bounty hunters, and a bunch of people who can, in all likelihood, handle themselves. Thus, her priorities, again, must shift.

While she kept a lookout for Shamal in their last encounter, other matters have distracted her here. She's not looking when Maya's attacked, and by the time she turns--she can only conclude that the sniper got off another shot, or else that there's a third bounty hunter in the area.

For her part, she isn't retreating. She has no need to. She raises her staff in a spin, then slams its butt down on the street, just for the sound of the impact to punctuate her shout.

"Stand down! The TSAB is withdrawing. Follow suit!"

Testarossa Fate (401) has posed:
    Yip?!

Hoisted right up and just bridal-carried, the wolf woman's ears splay as she wiggles.

But then she hears the answer to her very important question.

Arf is seeing stars and hearts.

    "Yestakemetotheramenplease."

Old dogs are set in their ways.

Yagami Hayate (558) has posed:
The sniper in the tower/book depository is assualted by tiny metal spheres(that are magical and NOT mass-based, wtf) and a DRAGON FIRE. He's pretty nimble, and leaps out of the far window with a yell, tumbling to the nearby rooftop to fall off to a balcony. Ow. He doesn't move, but he looks alive, after that.

The other bounty hunter staggers to her feet, dazed, but when Kimiko shouts that she taps her head and probably tries raising the TSAB herself to confirm it. Well... she may be overconfident, but she's also not stupid when she's confronted with all that power, and she isn't going to argue with scampering out of the way.

Fate and the girls vanish, and Flint and Vita are heading for the jet with Kaiba. The hunters do not stop them. This causes Vita to give Kimiko an odd look, before Signum explains, "I believe she doesn't want to endanger the civilians." Signum, at least, has a vague air of approval for that.

Left uninterrupted, Maya's shooting pain sears through her, and then finally recedes as Shamal withdraws her hand, the book's pages flooding with text. Signum actually gives a look of disapproval at Shamal. But it looks like everyone is on their way~

Now that things aren't quite so insane, Quentyn gets a much better explanation. "You're an offworld, I was just going to warn you, then everything went crazy. Sorry."

Kimiko Shinobu (570) has posed:
Kimiko shoots Kaiba a look of Stern Disapproval at his wanton destruction of civilian bookstores. She wasn't here to see him toss around wads of cash, so she isn't immediately assuming he'll make material amends. Her attention is heavily split, however, having a concern both for whatever hit Maya (somewhat more than concern specifically for Maya, at the moment), the retreating figures, and the bounty hunters. A look is shared with Signum, but only for the barest moment.

Flint Hawke (320) has posed:
If he's not being stopped and Arf isn't resisting, Flint's on board to get her to the jet and regroup with the other Wolkenritter on the jet that Kaiba has offered them a ride on. His blaster is holstered while he runs and he's more or lessjust gonna get to the ship unless stopped.

Seto Kaiba (623) has posed:
Kaiba may or may not replace the book store after this battle.

But more likely he'd replace it with a gameshop. Because he's a jerk.

Still, though, he's not making any note of this now. Whether or not the enemy are dead or not, he doesn't care. He's in this for the favor from those he's saving. And so, as the /rest/ of the group is getting in the jet, he's making his way as well. He does play a card as he heads over, though, but it's a face down card.

Specifically, it's a Mirror Force card. A trap card which punishes anyone who attacks him.

Kaiba gets on board his jet, though. And as a note, it's not really meant to hold this many people. So it is going to be /very/ cramped in the back seat which is meant for two passengers. Flint is going to have people piled on top of him, most likely.

Of course Kaiba doesn't really care about their comfort that much. They still owe him.

Testarossa Fate (401) has posed:
Arf bounces on Flint's lap the whole way like a spastic puppy ready for a bowl of ramen.

This is becaus she has taken on a much smaller puppy form.

Maya has posed:
The agny start to fade and finally would lessen to more bearable levels as she starts to fall over she can't keep standing agfter something like that. Maya just collapsese to the ground with a thud she's alive clearly but she's not oding so well at all nope she just had something ripped out of her and may eed some help to get out of here, or enough time to try and get bakc up to shuffle out.
