It was just a Three Hour...
Date of Scene: 23 January 2015
Location: The Oceanic Ruins
Synopsis: Kotone and Kyra set out to work over a displaced wreck of a warship from Kotone's home world's third world war. Things get crazy when Lezard shows up in search of another kind of salvage and then Inga drops in...
Cast of Characters: Kotone Yamakawa, Inga, Lezard Valeth, 626

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
The Third world war was a bloody conflict on Kotone's Earth and what was more shocking was how did a ship from it here end up here away form it? Or is it from an alternate there' no real way to know without a whole lot of work and time but here Kotone is she's been working savage on this vessel for a while, it's mostly scrap but one that's cash, and two there might be bits of hardware of use to herself, for collectors or even XCOM so she's currently on what's left ot hgte bridge jacked into one of it's comptures she's managed to get oepration trying to pull the ship's logs. She's got whires snaking out of her neck and into an addtional head set she's wearing as she seems to all the world be sill as a corpse.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
Salvage of a mysterious ship in the middle of the ocean? Seems legit. Kotone would have been barraged with questions on the way here, all about these world wars that her 'Earth' went through (also why are so many planets named Earth? That's really weird!!!)

While Kotone goes through the ship logs, Kyra studies the electronics and parts of the control room, occasionally reading over Kotone's shoulder as she tries to figure out how this particular ship functioned. "...hm. So if I'm not mistaken...?" she asks the mostly synthetic woman, "...a vessel like this runs off of controlled explosions, right? Combustion, that is. It seems pretty dangerous."

It would be a lie to say that Kyra wasn't unnerved at how still Kotone was right now. The whole 'mostly robot' thing was still taking some getting used to.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
Salvage is a popular pasttime in the multiverse. The interesting thing is...

When you're talented enough, there are /many/ different definitions of salvage.

And when you're Lezard Valeth, /everything/ is salvage. There is a low hum as a circle begins to form on the foredeck of the ship. The spatial warp is easy to notice, especially with any kind of magical senses. Lezard has not yet mastered the art of the quiet teleport. He fades into view as the circle completes, and flashes, fading away. "Hmm hmm hmm." He hums, simply, looking over the area. "This will do perfectly." For what? It seems he hasn't noticed the others yet.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa would have told Kyra about the gist of the first world war and how it was a chain of political alliances going off that plunged an entire continent into war for several years and left most of it a smoking ruin after. The Second seems to get a good deal of horror for her, it's a personal issue given her mixed heritage but from the massive slaughter it was, the development of horrible weapons known as nuclear weapons, which were forced to be used in an attempt to get one nation to stand down, she also notes the ethnic purges and the like. It's not pleasant she odes note the two largest aggressors did change and become large advocates of peace.

As they work she does tell her about the third where those weapon from the second had been advanced and deployed numerous time until lower ranking officers and officials stopped their leader's insanity. Also about the Japanese miracle that let them clean up the toxic effect from said weapons. It had kept them busy all right. She pauses in her work and says,

"Actually this was either an electric system or a nuclear technology can be used for darn efficient power if used right. Eh? Maybe so but most of this tech has existed for over a hundred years engines don't go off the logs I can access look pretty standard but this is a US navy vessel humm I'd say we'd want to try to sell it to the alliance rather then the Empire."

Kotone was unaware of Lezards or his plans, Kotone did have plans for any remains that were found to be catalogued. Then thier home nation or nations would be contacted for proper returning an burrial. Kotone is trying to find out the final days and hours of the vessel so far it seemed to have been fine until it unified. She was also lucky this was from an era before lethal countermeasure were developed against hacking. R
That's thought fades away as she becomes aware through a camera feed of Lezard's arrival.

"... Kyra? What's that!?"

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"Yeah but nuclear technology, those are eeven more dangerous explosions from what I can tell. Splitting atoms and radiation and stuff like that." Kyra did semi-recently visit the Vault and had prepared herself with RadX beforehand so she wouldn't get killed instantly. "How much do you usually get for a ship this size, anyway? And how do you move it? It's pretty big."

Assumedly, there would be other ships involved. But pondering those details would have to wait when Kotone seems to freak out at something. "...huh? I dunno." She leans forward to peer at the camera feed that Kotone was watching. "Looks like we've got company."

Kyra pulls out one of her guns, letting it rest in her right hand. It's not a needlegun and it's not the Luna's Resolve...it seems like a normal handgun from first glance. "I'll go check it out!" she offers cheerfully before running off, giving Kotone little time to protest.

To Kyra's credit, she doesn't immediately go storming the deck, demanding who this random guy is. She instead opts to sneak her way back up there, trying to get a good eye on Lezard and what he's up to before barging in on him.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa says "Maybe but it can also depend on how you look on it. Your people's massive use of magic could be seen as a danger a a threat, weapons that can't be taken away, what's to keep a black mage from going to a public event. Who just starts casting firespells on everything...it's all how you look at it and ... hold on."

She starts to jack out now and takes a moment to star pulling the cables from her head se and then from her neck they snap back into their proper places. She's armed but hasn't pulled her weapon is.

"Wait who the heck is that out there...?"

She's now taking a look and zooming in a bit on him.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
Lezard walks across the foredeck, still apparently not noticing Kyra's approach or Kotone's work in the bridge. He stands there, looking over the rail into the murky waters, and a faint wind stirs around him, blowing his hair and cloak to one side. He reaches into his coat, removing a book with no title. It opens in his hand, flipping pages of its own volition as he holds forth a hand over the depths. "I can feel you there. I feel your hunger, your pain. Come to me, children of the deep." He says quietly...

And then there is a wash of energy around him as a magical circle spreads beneath him. His voice becomes resonant as he calls out, "I am he who hath entrusted his soul to the eternal vortex of time. Ye know me! And if ye do not, ye shall be made to know me! It shall be engraved on thy very soul; Lezard Valeth! If ye shall accept the brand of Hel upon thee, thy sanctions shall in turn be lowered. I shall grant thee the deliverance of thy soul, and ye shall come now before me!"

A deep pall begins to grow over the area as dark energy gathers. Below, there is a stirring...

And an arm breaches the depths, partially stainless steel and partially long-stripped bone. It scratches against the hull... And the sound begins to grow.

"Did you enjoy that, child?" Lezard says, a smile on his face as he closes the book. He does not look towards Kyra's hiding place. "Come out, now, and tell me why you are here."

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
Having not yet encountered recent files on Valeth, Kyra doesn't recognize him by sight. As he continues, however, and begins what is obviously (at least to her) some kind of necrotic incantation, she starts to wonder. Fortunately, his spell even states his very name within it. The hand not firmly clutching her gun reaches into the pocket of her hoodie to pull out her phone. With a thumb, she clumsily enters the wizard's name in to look him up. She's well into reading whatever file that got brought up when the stirring starts and the arm reaches up.

Wide-eyed, Kyra shoves her phone away and takes a step back. "What the hell did you just summon?" she speaks up when he seemingly addresses her. She's less concerned that she was spotted and moreso about the likely undead thing in the water.

"Me? I'm just exploring." Kyra circles around, purposefully avoiding the edge of the ship, heading back to the cabin.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa has some understanding o magic but it's only from first hand experiance, of like flith zombies trying to eat her. She's on edge but right now just what is going on she's not sure. Just what's going on however she can hear the magic she pauses Hel? The Norse goddess of the land of the dead for those who didn't end up in Valhalla. She stop and feels a chill she does come out and she looks.

"We're salvaging the vessel..."

There's a look of horror as she spots the thing that's getting up, oh this is going somewhere /bad/

Lezard Valeth has posed:
Lezard doesn't seem particualrly intimidated by Kyra. Maybe he's crazy, or maybe he just sees a white mage with a weird gun. Or both. Both is always an option. "Why don't you see for yourself?" He gestures, as the undead clamber up the sides of the ship. The first one pulls itself up, rancid flesh with thin oxidized wiring running through it, creaking joints, and steel eyes looks up with a dead gaze towards the retreating Kyra. "What is more important? The flesh, or the spirit that guides it? The answer should be obvious." He chuckles, pushing his glasses up.

"Master the spirit, and the flesh follows. These are the remains of the tormented dead that came to rest here. I decided to give them another chance at life. Do you not find it fascinating?"

The cybernetically-enhanced undead lurches over the railing, shuddering as it works to stand up, trailing seaweed and unknowable gunk from itself as it orients towards Kyra. "One should be cautious when exploring. One never knows what they may find."

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
As a seventeen year old girl, Kyra's pretty used to not being intimidating to people. Even if they knew she was a white mage, her appearance did not leave people quaking in their boots. Such was the life of a backliner.

"I can see them fine enough from over here and nowhere near the edge of the ship within grab range." Kyra states pleasantly, lifting her gun now. "I can't say I find undead very fascinating either! Sad as it may be, I prefer it when something dead stays that way."

"So, Valeth." Kyra puts her gun away and rolls up her sleeves. "Why exactly are you summoning undead today? Is it just a hobby? Are you building some kind of army?" Yeah, she doesn't like the way that one that just crawled over the deck is looking at her. Her jaw tightens and she levels a hand at it, a white glow overwhelming it. On her world, white magic heal spells hurt undead. She didn't actually know if that was the case outside of Galianda but now seemed like a fantastic time to find out.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotones a bit older she's early 20s haveing finished up her tech school stuff just before her maiming she pauses looking at what's going on with the undead. "..."

So he's drgging the dead back forcing them to rise and se sees the cyber undead looking at Kyra and she just moves to try and put her self between it and Kyra. It's clear Kotone is not happy about this at all but does she have the firepower to stop Lezard? Not really not alone anway but she's thankfully got Kyra here so she's at least not alone, right?

Lezard Valeth has posed:
"How can one claim to protect life without an understanding of death? They are merely two sides of the same coin, after all." Lezard drawls. "Why today? Well, I had considered the nature of augmentation for my servants for quite some time. I determined that it would be best to perform examinations of those who were already altered before attempting my own." He shrugs. "One must never stop learning to remaing effective..."

His smile vanishes as Kyra casts her healing spell upon the undead. The spell causes the undead to reel, the body warping and twisting as it falls back, gurgling in pain as its flesh attempts to repair itself and expel the dark energy binding its spirit to the corpse... as well as causing unpleasant things to happen to the implants. "What is this mockery?" He sneers, throwing his cape wide. "Do not try my patience, child, lest you find yourself facing true power!"

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"Oh, hey Kotone." Kyra beams, a lot more at ease now with her here. That way she wouldn't have to one on one a necromancer! That wouldn't go very well for Kyra. She thinks.

She looks back to Lezard and frowns, stepping towards the wizard. "Oh, I understand death, Valeth. I understand undeath too. But I do agree! You have to keep learning or else you risk dying in obscurity and obsolecense."

Her grin widens a little as she makes a discovery. "For example, I just learned that my magic can effect these undead as well! Isn't that fascinating?" She giggles a little, "Your true power, huh? Does that mean you're going to summon more or /stronger/ undead? Can I test white magic against those too?"

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa looks to Lezard for a moment the dead /stay/ dead in her world, sure there was rumors of tech that could puppet a corpse remotely like they were still alive however that's just a rumor right and the Ghost of the person is lng gone. She looks at Lezard more than a bit horrifed she watche as Lyria makes her own spell work and she's now going for her gune at thi point but she resigns her self she's caught up in a Wizard's duel now.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
"I am glad I have found someone who can agree on something." Lezard replies dryly. "Whiel I could call up more and greater creations than these, I have another idea." He withdraws a scepter tipped with a ruby from beneath his cloak, and brandishes it dramatically. "Perhaps you will be better off testing it on yourself. LIGHTNING BOLT!" With a surge of power, a crack of lightning surges across the ship, wracking the cabin and deck with a powerful bolt as it tries to ground out through Kyra and Kotone. It might be standard black mage fare to Kyra, but that doesn't make it any less of a problem.

Meanwhile, the cybernetically enhanced undead continue to climb up the hull, gathering slowly in a mass on the deck.

Inga has posed:
Inga arrives right about the time lightning starts getting thrown around. Which she knew would happen. That's why she's here.

She might have coincidentally been in the area, which raises the chances of the Seer having a vision.

After the crack of lighting comes the much smaller sound of Inga's staff wrapping upon the deck as she boards. The woman is dressed in 'modern' clothing, wearing a long black skirt and a grey cashmere sweater, somehow still managing to look incredibly old fashioned. A mjolnir pendant hangs around her neck, a knife and a couple of pouched attached to a leather belt at her waist.

She takes in the situation, then reaches for her knife as she looks toward Lezard. Her expression is skepitcal. "Well, who are you then? I'll give you a moment to introduce yourself and rethink attacking my friends," she informs him.

She eyes the undead briefly, wrinkling her nose. Always with the zombies.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"I know, it's like we're kindered souls /or something/." Kyra says, simultaneously casting SARCASMAGA. "If you're not going to, I /guess/ I could continue testing it on these undead-oh, no, I already know that it works on me-oh. /Oh/." Unfortunately for both Kyra and Kotone, she doesn't really have enough time to get a good protective spell up against that. No Reflect and no Shell, which means Kyra gets hit by the full force of the grounded lightning bolt, which knocks her off her feet onto the ground.

She twitches for a second before picking herself back up. "Now that was uncalled for! Shell!"

Kyra snaps her fingers and a green forcefield flickers around her and seems to fade. For the magically inclined Lezard, he can easily sense that it's still there around the white mage. "Just for that..." she flicks her hand out, gesturing at one of the other cybernetic zombies that had just pulled itself up onto the ship. Looks like she's going to cast cure on another one, much to Lezard's irritation.

But Inga shows up and Kyra cheerfully waves.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
"Cause and effect, my dear. You can test your spells on other undead if you wish. These are /mine/. Of course I would defend what belongs to me." The appearance of the Shell gets his attention however. "A magical barrier... You are accomplished after all. Hmph. It is no matter, I have other resources available to me." He raises a hand...

And Inga arrives. He glances over to her, and then looks away, about to say something.

And then he stops and looks again.

He leans in a little, his eyes narrowing behind his glasses. "It cannot be. A witch of the old ways? Here?" He suddenly snarls. "Begone from this place, slave of the gods. Your lords have no power here!" The zombies form up before him, forming a barrier of bone, long-rotted flesh, and old cybernetics before him.

It looks like he's about to start getting serious.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa was not expecting Inga, and while Kotone isn't a coward she also knows there's no way she could take Lezard on her own even with Kyra while bolder isn't so sure Inga arrive just as the ligting gets flying about. Kotone isn't quick enough and she's caught by the spell, she thusly lights up like a Christmas Tree. There's the sent of melted plastic and other syentics from her hittin the deck she's burt at the point she was strike all the way through her syunth skin down to the innter worksf of her body she starts getting up and she does see Inga.

"...hi Inga."

Being able to dampen her ability to feel right now is /wonderful/ she may end up damaged more but she's not being helpless as she starts looking about the old warship for something she can put to use because a pistol vs Lezard isn't going to ut it she thinks...

"What did you say about my friend?"

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"Is it really appropriate to gank other people's corpses and claim them as your own, though? I know they're dead and all but that still seems kind of ruuuuuude." Kyra takes a moment to unzip the front of her hoodie and fling back the sides dramatically as if it were a cape to reveal her host of chemist equipment and firearms beneath. "I've got-"

Lezard stops to glare and snarl at Inga. A frown forms upon her face at that. "...wow, speaking of rude..." Looks like her time trolling the necromancer has come to an end for now. Camly, she withdraws one of the flasks off her belts and hurls it at the barrier. The moment the glass shatters, the mixture within explodes.

Inga has posed:
Inga summons a small smile for Kyra, nodding to her as she raises a protective barrier around herself. Good. She knows Kyra can handle herself, as can Kotone. Still...there was something about this that had brought her here and she's about to get an inkling as to why.

Inga raises an eyebrow. A witch of the old ways? Yes, she supposes to him they are old. "That is rather amusing of you to say since it is the gods that granted my the vision that told me you would be here, making trouble," she informs him, apparently unruffled. Inga is extremely low on fucks to give today.

Quickly, she brings her knife to her arms and slices, drawing the blood from the wound and flicking it toward Kotone. A protective barrier forms, one that would also help to heal her, softly glowing crimson. "Hello Kotone," she greets the other woman before looking back to Lezard.

This time, she really /looks/. Her pupils widen as she lets in the influx of images, grabbing a strand of wyrd as is hovers around him and giving it a tug until she can see within.

A grave and terrible anger begins to grow.

"Lezard Valeth, I See you. I see what you have done," she says, her voice gaining that air of the uncanny as she watches fate itself twisting like the midgard serpent under the seas.

He raises another corpse--is that some sort of armor it wears? Metal within the body? Inga frowns, then gestures forward with her staff, air heating rapidly as fire in conjured with explosive force.

She's been practicing that. Studying with Dresden.

Needless to say there will be collateral damage.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
"It is not like they were using them anymore." Lezard replies to Kyra offhandedly. "And now they are again! I am nothing but not efficient." He chuckles to himself. "You are an alchemist as well? Very interesting. Perhaps we should trade recipes."

Kotone challenges Lezard, and he simply shrugs, looking at her. "I say what I please, construct. You are hardly in a position to argue."

And then Inga calls him out. The Necromancer clenches a fist and points at Inga. "Your delusions are nothing more than following the skeins of an addled mind. You confuse visinary experience with madness and relegate it after the fact." The moment she slices her arm, Lezard is on the defensive, bringing up his sceptre. "If you have seen what I done... Wait until you see what I have yet to do! The doom of the Gods is as hand, and it will not be by the hand of prophecy that strikes them down, but the hand of /man/. The hand of /LEZARD VALETH/!"

Two explosions, one from Kyra and one from Inga come in. The formation is blasted apart, sending cybernetic zombies flying into gory pieces as the foredeck of the ship is caved inwards. Lezard does not move, revealed there as a magical circle grows beneath him, Power swirling about him and setting his clothing to wash about wildly. "FIRE STORM!" He calls out, returning the favor as the surface od the deck bleches forth a burst of fire, detonating with a dull thud.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"They didn't consent to being raised, though!" Kyra fires back, recognizing this argument. It's one she's had with Helena before for those rare times she decides to raise dead for the hell of it. It's not exactly a /fun/ argument for either of them to have. "-well we call them biochemists these days BUT YES. I will certainly 'trade' recipies with you."

Just like she 'trades' some of that liquified bomb core! Ultimately, Kyra doesn't seem all too bothered about the few similarities between her and this guy.

Between her and Inga, they can tear down the wall though it's quickly revealed that the wall was a cover so Lezard could cast something big and nasty without being interrupted. Kyra's eyes widen as she realizes this and she quickly turns, dropping to her knees and drawing her hands over her head. This way, she's able to mostly protect the other materials she has on her from being destroyed by the fire. This does mean, however, that her back gets blasted by the fire, if cut in half by the Shell spell. Even then, Lezard's power makes that still significally painful.

Kyra pulls herself to her feet and flees at a ninety degree angle, messing with...something she's pulled from her pockets and belts. It's hard to tell, but whatever it is, it's not ready yet.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Things are now getting crazy at this point she's reaching out to the ship's damaged network the only reason it's even on as she and Kyra managed to get some systems up and running when they wer working eailer Kotone franticly looks trying to find something she cna use to fight, no the weapons are off line and have been exposed to the elements for too long but wait what's this there's an old drone the proto spider tank like unit is however it will do the thing's sparking and hissing as the hatch on the deck starts to open part way but it jams and Kotne now breaks into a run for it even as the showdown between the others goes on this saves her from the fire storm and now she strts working to try and force the damaged hatch open.

"damn it OPEN!"

And she puts more power into it. She hsan't forgot Lezard called her a construct. Oh she's going to have words if she can get this damn door open!

Inga has posed:
Inga's lip curls slightly. She is planning just what she's going to do with this man. It is not pretty.

Her eyes narrow slightly at his words. She is /not/ crazy. Well...at least not crazy in the way he accuses her of at least.

Inga observes her and Kyra's attacks throwing metal and bone, but Lezard is unmoved. A cirle. Of course he'd have a circle. Naturally. Luckily, she's now had some experience with magic circles, creating and destroying them. Usually not alone...

Before she can finish this thought Lezard lashes out with fire in kind. Inga doesn't have the time for a blood ward as she'd used on Kotone, and so has to trust that her magical protections would help protect her from the blast. The unsteady woman is blown from her feet, skin blistering from the burns. It is extremely painful, to say the least. However, her talismans had protected her, and with her excellerated healing the burns were already beginning to heal, burned skin flaking away to be replaced with new, healthy skin beneath.

Inga pulls herself to her feet with aid of her staff, slicing into her arm again since the wound she'd made moments earlier had already closed. Using the knife as a focus to direct her anima, she draws out the crimson fluid and sends it flying toward Lezard.

No, not Lezard. His circle. The anima charged blood circles, trying to settle into the boundary of his own circle and overload it with her own magic, hoping to explode it back on him much in the way she, Harry and Riva had eliminated the magic circles in Chicago.

"You're the one who is mad. I think I will strip the skin from your bones and bleed you dry in sacrifice to Grimnir," she replies in a snarl.

Kotone is working on getting something. Inga will just have to be distracting. Pretty sure she can manage.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
"Consent is an irrelevant concept to those with the power of mastery!" Lezard retorts. However, he does not immediately follow up his trike upon Kyra and Kotone, as Inga buys them some time. Her blast of Anima-charged blood sizzles in the magical circle, disrupting the pattern. There is a wild, uncontrolled detonation behind Lezard as some of the power is released, shattering the prow of the ship and throwing him to the ground roughly with a cry of pain. The zombies are less lucky. Several more are shredded with burning shrapnel and unconstrained arcane energy.

The circle vanishes as Lezard quickly releases the energy to dissipate it before he blows himself up, and he backpedals, pointing. "TAKE HER!" She calls, and the remaining zombies begin shambling forwward, several of them releasing sharp, rusted melee weapons that extrude from limbs as they prepare to attack Inga. "A witch of your caliber cannot defeat me. Even if you could, it would avail you naught. The body is but a vessel, slave of the gods, and even Hel holds no claim over my spirit!" He does not attack immediately. Inga bought them time, but how much? What is he planning to do next?

Inga has posed:
In truth, Inga is very confident in her abilities...but a fight light this without melee support? She's unsure if this is actually something she can win right now. Not with his zombie support. Would Kotone and Kyra be able to help her there? Inga is by no means a melee combatant.

The circle explodes wonderfully. Now Lezard is angry. Good, maybe he'll make mistakes. Still, Lezard is very much still in this, and now that he's angry he's sending his minions for her. Gripping her staff, she begins to channel electrictity, ready to unleash lightning to give herself some space. At this rate, this ship will be sinking soon.

Eyebrows rise. "Of my calibur? Your attempts to insult me are as clumbsy as your magic. You call me slave? I am Chosen. Someday the Doom will come but it will not be by your hand. You are a child, wrecking the house for attention. Oh, but you are so far beneath her, Lezard. She will never notice you," she replies, then lets loose the lightning. Chain lighting, so it should catch several of the corpses.

She knows what comes next. She speaks into her radio quickly.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
Time is exactly what Kyra needed. She seemed to be taking advantage of Lezard's sudden focus on Inga to find what she needed to find on her person. It looks like in those few moments, Kyra was successful. When she spins herself back around to Lezard, she has her needlegun in hand with a dart already slotted in it.

She doesn't offer any shouts or witty one liners. Whatever it is she's packing, she seems interested in hitting Lezard with it.

Should the dart hit, he'll immediately start to feel the effects spreading out from the site of the dart's impact. His skin goes numb and his muscles go slack. It'll suddenly become impossible for him to stand.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Things are getting pretty crazy here she pushes with everything she has disgenage her body's limiters and with a cry she forces the htch open and the old WWIII era drone exits the old pod it was stored int it ranged weapons are usless but it still has it's claws and the almost psider like thing starts for Lezard hopefully he's distracted enough by his focus upon Inga for to at least cause him some issue if it can close even as Kinga does her thing she gets a call from Kyra about bailing and as much as she hates to she's got to amdit the wreck isn't worth her life.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
Kyra's hissing dart strikes Lezard in the shoulder. There is a grunt, and he pulls it away. "What is this..." He says, and then his voice begins to slur. His eyes widen, and he gasps, before he staggers, his body crumpling to the ground.

There is a short flash of light, and a ghostly figure rises from the inert body of Lezard Valeth.

It's... Lezard Valeth. He looks irritated. "I really must investigate defenses against that." He says. "Are you surprised, healer? Your poisons will do no good now!"

It is at this time that Inga addresses him. His eyes widen. She /knows/. "YOU FOOLISH GIRL! WHO ARE YOU TO SPEAK OF THAT MATTER! YOU PRY TOO DEEPLY INTO MATTERS THAT DO NOT CONCERN YOU!" He screams, shaking with rage. "THE FOLLY OF THE GODS STANDS SELF-EVIDENT! THEY BRING NOTHING BUT PAIN AND SUFFERING UPON THE PEOPLE OF MIDGARD. THE FOOLS THINK THEIR DOMINION WILL GO FOREVER UNCHALLENGED, BUT THEIR VERY EXISTENCE IS DOOMED FROM THE START! YOU WHO WILL SPEAK OF WHAT DOES NOT CONCERN YOU WILL PAY!"

Pure Power surges around Lezard, gathering around him in a torrential outpouring of force greater than anything that has come before. A gale wind whips around him of magical energy, his expression creased with fury and ecstasy as he channels the rawest forces of nature to his beck and call. "AND NOW YOU WILL PAY THE PRICE FOR YOUr IMPUDENCE!"

A blaze of pure white light scorches upwards, searing into the night sky and punching through the clouds above. The skies twinkle as the light spreads for a moment, and Lezard begins to intone, his voice resonant.

"NO MERCY FOR THE DAMNED!"

As he speaks, the horror becomes apparent: Rocks and space debris begins to fall, pulled out of orbit by his power. They plunge through the roiling skies, trailing flame as reentry scorches the area, landing throughout the area in a peppering of explosions.

"THUS THOU HAST NO ESCAPE FROM THE GRIP OF CATASTROPHE!"

But the worst is yet to come. A huge meteor, easily the size of the ship itself, comes roaring downwards, burning downwards towards them all. Lezard stands silhouetted as the massive rock comes crashing down towards them all with a promise of destruction.

"METEOR SWARM!"

He smiles, as if daring Kotone to stick around.

Inga has posed:
Inga really hopes her warning will be heeded. She's really gone and done it now.

Kyra uses some sort of poison dart on Lezard, and he falls. Now, Inga hadn't missed his hole speech about Hel having no claim on his spirit. She wondered over the truth of this, but would not be left wondering long. A ghostly figure rises from his body--his angry ghost, still able to use his power.

Odin's bones, she'd really gotten herself into a mess this time.

He rants back at her, his words stinging defenses. She's hurt him and now he'll bring the sky down on her in his vengeance.

The Seer glances upward, frowning, looking back to Lezard. She looks sad. What had happened to him, then? Why did he blame the gods? It wasn't the first time she'd seen someone rail at the gods for their cruelty. It was, however, the first time someone dropped a meteor on her.

Oh, what a large rock that is...

"Run," she says to Kyra and Kotone. Inga doesn't have a prayer of getting out of that one. She cannot move quick enough to avoid it. Even if she could, he would just keep coming for her, she is sure of it.

So once more she watches her own strand of fate winding out, unraveling before her, showing her as if a spectator the manner of her death.

At least it is quick. The meteor slams down and Inga disappears beneath the waters.

She doesn't come back up. There's only the faint sound of...buzzing?

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
Success! "Nothing a little neurotoxin can't solve." Kyra beams as Lezard crumples to the ground. At that point they could just walk over and collect him and-wait. "Did you just astrally project yourself?!" She calls out in confusion as Lezard seems to send his soul out if his body to cast. And boy does he cast.

The swell of magic is familiar to Kyra, who has seen time mages cast Meteo before. She knows that spell is pretty bad news. Maybe this was part of Inga's vision as she boarded the ship. Knowing this, she quickly books it to the side of the ship, passing Kotone as she goes. "C'mon!" as she passes, she reaches out and taps the woman, murmuring a few choice words. "Float!" Strangely, the spell seems to do nothing to prevent running, although it looks pretty weird to be running on air. Kyra casts the spell on herself shortly afterwards, before leaping over the side, and the beneficial effects are even more evident.

For one, her fall is slowed. For two, she doesn't sink beneath the water and instead hovers over it, retaining that same floaty mobility. From there, she runs for shore. You don't mess with meteo. While it isn't a direct hit, she still gets caught up in the swell of water that follows, tumbling away, still under the float spell.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa did the old drone as a distraction and she starts running at this point she's now only thinking she's or the water side to run into even as Lezard goes off about Inga and her Gods, Kotone is leaping into th water it's not as deep ias it could be but it's still deeper than she could swim in. But thankfully for her Kyra is there to help it and cast float Kotone is falling and falind and then stops before the water and hovering just above it she seems able to find her way to float as fast as she can to shore away from the reck.

"...and I left most of my tools aboard, wait Where's INGA?!"

Lezard Valeth has posed:
The meteor strikes, crushing the boat and everything on it. The devastation is intense, but at least it is out here where no one else can get hurt.

Just some zombies, a paralyzed shell of a body, and a poor wisewoman.

Lezard does not appear afterwards. He does not remain to gloat, his ghost presence having departed in the aftermath of the destruction.

All that remains is a hell of a mess. And a big space rock.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
Meanwhile, once Kyra has righted herself and spit all the water out of her mouth, she proceeds to freak out a little. She tries to make contact with Inga again and finds...minimal success.
