Meanwhile after class...
Date of Scene: 03 March 2015
Location: Galianda - Alexander Academy
Synopsis: Kyra attempts to give Sanary some instruction in healing. Wild Magic says "nope."
Cast of Characters: 626, Sanary Rondel

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
It is ten minutes after class following one of the many practice sessions held for students of Alexander Academy. This particular session happened to be an 'animal handling' class aimed mostly at students of the Beastmaster Job. This does not prevent others from attending, of course, because there was always something valuable about learning how the other Jobs operate, especially if you are ever partied with one in the middle of a dungeon. It would be a very bad day if one party member started attacking a beastmaster's allied monster!

Since this was a hands-on demonstration, actual beasts were involved. The results, as per most hands-on demonstrations in Alexander Academy, was messy. It might say something about the world itself when a student can be expected to be mauled during the course of instruction. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? Due to all the injuries, a call has been put out to the healers of the school, especially those interested in getting some points on the healthcare board.

Normally Kyra ignores such things but tonight? Hey, why not, she's here in the arena-like classroom, surrounded by younger students in various states of distress, administering syringes filled with potion. She seems to be avoiding her magic at the moment which does not help in the pain department.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Hearing the call for healers did not go unnoticed by Sanary, and it would be a lie to say that she wasn't intrigued by the idea of getting noticed by the higher ups. If she played her cards right, maybe she could even move up to the higher magic-focused classes instead of spending so much time in math and science or... Something.

Whatever the case is, she finds her way to the PE classroom fairly easily. Although the first week was significantly rougher, she has gotten somewhat used to the layout of the Academy by now. It's not too hard to confirm that she's in the right place with the sounds of groaning students.

"Beastmaster training? Should I just get started or..." She pauses for a moment to consider her options, then clears her breath and straightens her stance in some vague attempt to look more refined. "Are there any teachers or senpais around here?"

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
Kyra lifts her head up over the small crowd of students to spy Sanary. She waves her over then freezes, realizing her mistake mid-wave and instead calls out to her. "HEY SANARY! I don't know how you can tell but when you do your thing, focus on the guys with open, bleeding wounds first, will you? That stuff's gotta be closed up first before we start on the trickier things like poisoning!"

Somewhere amongst the crowd, a student retches. Seems like there were some poisonous monsters being used in the recently concluded session.

Some of Kyra's crowd break away from the white mage and drift over to Sanary's direction now that she's been identified as a healer too. They're in pain and they don't particularly care if Sanary is an extraversal-not that they can really tell since she looks Hume.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Hearing Kyra, Sanary raises a hand to wave in the general direction of her voice before glancing around. "Hey, Senpai Kyra! Uh... O-on it!" She bites her lip lightly while trying to figure out how to actually differentiate between such wounds. She breathes in slowly to start getting the energy flowing into her hands, at least, getting that ready ahead of time while approaching the first group of injured students by the door.

"Alright. So who's bleeding and not poisoned? Make some noise." A few groans and some nudges (followed by more groans) later, she starts work on channelling the magical energy into an eerie green light from her hands into those students. Even at such a close range, she's not making direct contact with them and there's quite a bit of green that just dissipates around them rather than going directly into the wounds or even the students themselves.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
As Sanary gets crowded, Kyra tries to continue craning her head over her own crowd to see how Sanary's doing, both from a mental and magical standpoint. She still doesn't know how her magic workds (neither do, really!) and REALLY would like to study it. Unfortunately, she can't give that much attention, having her own patients to deal with.

    Speaking of...

All around Sanary students start speaking up, "Me! Me! I got bitten!" "A manticore scratched my arm!" "I'm missing a chunk out of my butt!" Yikes. They don't seem to have really caught on to her disability yet, figuring she was just one-eyed with the other eye working. Still, those with open wounds do step forward.

"Whoah, this is trippy." One of the Beastmasters says as he experiences the magic that is most unlike the white magic Galiandans are used to. Granted, white magic isn't the only form of healing around but it clearly feels different than what most people are used to-and yet, it definitely works. One boisterous beastmaster slaps Sanary on the back. "Hey, thanks! My butt is complete at last."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"Easy, easy! I only got no working eyes here!" Sanary certainly seems to be in high spirits as she keeps working, unloading small waves of healing magic into whomever comes close enough for her to actually reach easily with those waves. Her own method of healing focuses more on speeding up the body's natural healing greatly rather than outright fixing the wounds, so there's still visible scar tissue growing and buttflesh re-mending itself where it should be.

If you lost a finger, hold it in place! Don't blame me if-" The blind healer winces slightly at the slap to the back, but there is a pleased grin on her face afterwards.

"Senpai Kyra, do you know how to handle poison? I'm kinda useless for that! I... Think?"

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"Whaaaaaat, you're blind?" A younger kid can't help but gape a little and rudely waves his hand in front of Sanary's face as if to confirm this.

At the very least, mechanically, the healing is similar and accomplishes the same basic thing. Scarring, though, well amongst this crowd scarring is actually pretty /cool/ so some kinds get excited to see it, hoping it'll stick around.

Kyra pops her head up again, then disembarks from the crowd around her to join Sanary directly. "So you haven't learned about poisana or esuna yet, I take it? Here, I'll show you-hey who was throwing up earlier, c'mere!"

A sickly-looking kid pushes his way through the crowd, a purple-ish color to his skin, not that Sanary can see that. She can hear the kid, though, and he sounds like he's seconds away from throwing up again. "Alright, here-"

Reaching over, Kyra takes Sanary's hand and places it over her own. "I'm going to cast poisana, keep your hand here so you can feel how it works." Up until this point, Kyra hadn't actually been using her white magic. What happens next might suggest why. Magic starts to flow through Kyra but something happens and its very nature shifts within her, magic particles going astray. Rather than a simple poisana spell...

...Kyra's entire forearm suddenly bulges and hardens, forming into a very orange crab claw that tears the sleeve of her hoodie open. Silence falls following the loud ripping noise of the fabric and Kyra stares in horror. "...and that, folks, is how not to cast poisana! Thank you for attending this educational demonstration from an upperclassman! Ahahaha!" Kyra swings her altered hand behind her back and starts to back away.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
"No, I just like walking really slowly and touching everything." Even without being able to see the kid, Sanary shoots him a flat stare before refocusing her efforts on the healing. She picks her head up at Kyra's approach, however, her expression lightening up slightly into something more respectful than earlier.

"Heard those names thrown around, but I haven't gotten the chance to actually try any of those yet." She raises an eyebrow at the mention of someone throwing up, glancing over once she can hear his approach. She keeps still as the white mage guides her hand, closing her eye to focus on the feel of the magic rather than...

... Well, closing her eye make her feel like she's noticing it better, at least. A confused look does come over her face as Kyra's hand transforms and the ripping sound rings in her ear, but she's not freaking out or anything.

"So I don't swirl it around and do that thing you just did? Uh... What /did/ you do, then?"

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
One of the kid's companion's smacks him upside the head and scolds him, "Never be rude to the healer, you idiot! That's bad party manners!"

"...sorry." The kid mumbles, rubbing his head.

"Poisana is the basic 'cure poison' white magic spell." Kyra explains to her kohai before the magical mishap. "Esuna is a bit more advanced-it can fix poison and a variety of other things. You probably won't get taught that for a while though. A lot of creatures are poisonous, though, so poisana gets a lot of use."

But afterwards-Kyra yanks Sanary closer to herself and away from the rest of the gaping students. "Shh! Not so loud. That's...that was a magical accident. It happens sometimes." Hastily, she pushes a handful of Remedy, each in their own little vial, into Sanary's hands, "Here, take these and give them to the poisoned students, that will help them out until you get taught poisana. I...uh...need to deal with this."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary can't stay irritated for too long at those kids, and she does give them a slight grin and even a snicker before turning her attention back to Kyra's explanation prior to the mishap. After the mishap, she just keeps wearing the confused look on her face as she's pulled over.

"Erk... S-sorry. Didn't think that was even a thing..." Taking the vials, the blind girl holds them carefully and nods at the directions given to her. "Got it. I'm guessing they just drink this, but... Uh. Are you gonna be okay?"

She hesitates for a short while before moving away from KYra, her attention turning back to what she can only presume is where the rest of the students are. "Alright, who's poisoned and feels like dying the most? I got some stuff to eat for that, I think! Just don't eat the tube."

Amazing bedside manner. Then again, it could just be that she has no idea who would actually need it from where she's squatting.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"It is." Kyra tells Sanary very gravely, not willing to let this whole damn class of kids know that it is actually a personal chaotic effect she's dealing with. People TALK about that kind of stuff on Galianda and none of it is good.

Kyra, as per the suggestions she's been receiving, is sure to halt the flow of magic to her hand to see what happens. The claw doesn't revert right away but it does start to feel funny. Like any effect on Galianda, it takes MP to maintain it, Morph magic included.

As Kyra backs away, the rest of the kids edge towards Sanary, the sickest one clearing himself some room by vomiting on the floor. Judging by the noise...he probably needs it the most.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Thankfully, Sanary's brain seems to be working a little harder today as she raises her voice, stepping towards the vomiting kid while opening up the vial carefully. "Remember! Blind over here, so I can't give you the stuff to fix your... Whatever if you don't come closer!"

Putting one hand on the kid's forehead, she tilts his head back lightly as she brings the vial to his mouth. She doesn't pour the remedy in right away, however, clearing her throat as she starts channeling the magical energy back into the hand at his forehead. She doesn't release it into his face, however, instead trying to warp the nature of the magic itself.

Unfortunately, nothing actually comes of it. The blind girl groans as she's forced to just release the gathered magic as a wave of... Nothing. She pours the rememdy in afterwards, giving the vomiter a light (and slightly sweaty) pat on the cheek before turning to the other gathered students. "Come on now! We don't have all day here."

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
Kyra's kind of relieved that Sanary seems to be on the ball with keeping the remaining attention of the Beastmasters-at least those still in need of healing. The crowd has significantly dwindled now between the pair's potions and magic, leaving behind those still afflicted with Manticore poison. Fortunately it seems Kyra's left Sanary with enough Remedy to go around, especially since her first attempt to cast Poisana is not successful.

Trying to pattern it after what she felt through Kyra's hand is a guarenteed failure. None of that was white magic-it was something a bit more advanced and from another Job entirely.

The rest crowd around, mindful of the puke pile, occasionally prodding for Sanary's attention. Not a single one of these guys makes a remark about the blindness and Sanary will get the feeling that, although she's a complete noob of a healer, there is definitely some measure of respect offered to them in Galianda.

A little ways away, Kyra clutches the crabclaw with her other hand, slowly working the pincers back and forth. She leans against the wall, head tipped upward, eyes closed as she concentrates on herself, visualizing the look of her normal arm on her forearm. Gradually, the abnormal appendage begins to shrink, a combination of willpower and the lack of MP present to support the Morph.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Handling the remaining poisoned students doesn't seem to be giving Sanary too much trouble, working almost like a moderately-oiled machine. Pop a vial open, tilt someone's head back, put just a bit of magic into their heads to try and ease the pain somewhat, pour the stuff in. Even if the magic doesn't actually fix anything aside from minor head scrapes and canker sores, it still gives her something to use her skills on outside of just feeding the students medicine.

"Anyone else that's still poisoned or feeling shitty, stand over here. If you're still bleeding or injured, stand over there and stand close together." She gestures to her left and her right respectively, making sure not to turn too much from her current position.

"And if you're neither, then... Uh. Get some dinner or something. I dunno. But keep it moving!" There's actually some authority in her voice as she shouts the last part, a slight worried look in her faded eye as she glances around to try and figure out if Kyra is still in the room at all.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
Gradually, the sounds of students around her start to diminish, the classroom/arena emptying of people. Of course, Sanary does receive some thanks and other shows of gratitude from the younger kids before they depart. It isn't long before Sanary finds herself standing alone. She'll hear a bit of wind blow through the area-then feel it moments later. The high ceiling of the room apparently has a large hole in the top.

There's no sign of Kyra in the room. Outside of the room, however, is a different story-she stands on the right side of the entranceway, able to adequately hide the morphed hand from the sudents leaving by slipping it behind her body. However, by the time Sanary has finished with the crowd, the effect has ended, leaving Kyra with an exposed Hume forearm.

The sleeve to her hoodie is still wrecked though.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Without the students and noise to distract her, Sanary shivers slightly once she finally notices the openness of the room and the ceiling. She even looks up at the ceiling momentarily, a low hum escaping her. "That's gonna be fun to fix..." She mutter to herself, then flinches slightly before turning towards the doorwar.

"Looks like we're done here, Kyra Senpai. You okay with the... Whatever that was?" She pauses for a moment before stepping towards the entrance, narrowly avoiding the wall next to it by pressing her hands against it in time to reorient herself towards the entrance itself. "I tried to do that thing you did, but it didn't work. Mm... You're still here, right?"

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
There's silence for a few long moments before: "Yeah." Sanary can hear her now just outside the room. "I'm alright now, the effect's gone away thanks to...uh. Willpower it looks like. One of my friends had a-er, that is to say my arm is fine now but my hoodie need mending.

"They'll show you poisana in class soon enough. Seeing it there might be more helpful for you, actually. You'll get to see a professional using it! Hahah. Anyway, it looks like we're done here so we can leave and...do whatever. Me, I was going to head out and see if anyone outside my world needed help! I always could use practice."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Letting out a relieved sigh at hearing Kyra, Sanary approaches Kyra and reaches for her face. She rests a palm on her forehead gently to channel just a bit of healing magic, focusing more on the relief aspect of it rather than the actual healing part.

"Good to hear. Sewing's not a thing I can really do, but I could give it a shot if you're... Actually, never mind." She waves a hand in front of her face, then nods. "I do need to learn how to do the other types of healing... Everything one day. Maybe we can head out and find some target practice together one of these days."

There's a smirk, then a quick addition. "... Healing targets! Unless you wanna throw axes or something. That works, too."
