Date of Scene: 29 April 2015
Location: Paragon City <CoH>
Synopsis: Some doctors have been kidnapped in Paragon City! What brave heroes will rescue them?
Cast of Characters: Maya, 414, 750, 761, 768, 769

Demetrios Vasilikos (769) has posed:
Primal Earth is a not-so-newly Unified world. It has been around long enough to know what kind of situation they're in now, but there hasn't been major interaction with it in the months since its Unification. It honestly has enough on its plate as-is, and has enough extra-dimensional shenanigans in its history that they weren't terribly surprised to discover they were part of the Multiverse. From their perspective, they always were. Nothing has really changed except a mild increase in the amount of traffic.

However, a prominent physician by the name of Dr. Vasilikos, along with a few other doctors, were kidnapped from a conference at Steel Canyon Medical Center by members of a gang of super-powered thugs known as the Outcasts, led by the villain known as Polarity Shift. While the Paragon Police Department is trying to apprehend the perpetrators, it might be too late by the time they get to them. Super heroes (and equivalents) are what's needed! Thankfully, police scanners have made news of the abduction known, and that means the good guys (even if not FROM here necessarily) can intervene!

Based on maps of Steel Canyon and any information that can be gathered, the victims were last seen near Silver Lake, in the far north-west corner of Steel Canyon. There's a cave network there that might be where the Outcasts are hiding!

Meeting up just outside the cave entrance, on a small outcropping of land or on the sidewalk/street just above it, seems like a good plan for those responding. It will let them meet and discuss a course of action to take.

Or they could just charge right in and roll the stone wall blocking the entrance aside. It's not like leaving the Outcasts the opportunity to threaten those doctors for long periods of time is helpful.

Clicky (761) has posed:
Silver Lake! It's a nice area, good property value. Very scenic, near some interesting shops, with the ever popular ICON to the north.

This doesn't explain why there's a pile of junk and trash, almost completely a mass of rusted metal a couple shiny widgets, and some rubber and PVC piping sitting in a pile next to the entrance to the cave. God, someone should clean this up. Paragon is supposed to be the CITY OF THE FUTURE, where's the trash disposal ordinances?

Cory (768) has posed:
As it turns out, the Union picked up the call for help and one very bored Saiyan's decided to go check it out. Anything calling for a 'superhero' sounds like a challenge... and getting good points with the Union's hardly a bad idea!

So a white meteor streaks through the heavens above Steel Canyon, circles weirdly, pauses here and there, zigzags...

... And finally comes in for a landing near the cave entrance at Silver Lake. She lands atop the pile of junk and the furious white aura around her disperses with a weird crackle-sizzle noise, but at least the noisy entrance is now silent.

She's also oddly quiet for a bit, closing both eyes and clearly going deep in focus...

Rebound (750) has posed:
Having heard about the unfortunate kidnapping of several scientists, Rebound has opted to leave her own world and venture to this one. It's remarkable how similar it is and yet so vastly different at the same time.

The biggest difference, and the one she's happy about is that when she finds herself landing in the street, the people walking along the sidewalks point, but they don't gawk, they don't scream and run. They seem actually impressed by the kangaroo's appearance and abilities as she takes another leap off, heading towards the coordinates.

Landing near the cave entrance, she skids to a bit of a stop after her final jump and looks at the group that's already arrived, "Looks like we got ourselves a party goin' on. Any idea what we're up against in there?"

Revan (414) has posed:
A mere hour beforehand, 'Revan' had been musing over the radio about visiting Earth, but she hadn't expected to be visiting so soon. But trouble waits for no man, (or woman, in this case) and the Guardian found herself answering a distress call over the channels. It was the sort of thing she had promised to do when she'd made her introductions, wasn't it?

At first, she was apprehensive about landing on a more 'primitive' planet, but much to her surprise, no one so much as batted an eye when she made planetfall. And apparently, the more recent 'alien invasions' usually came in shooting, so no one was particularly worried when the Ebon Hawk set down on the roof of a building which T3 informed her could handle it. Hopefully it wasn't illegal.

Likewise, her attire and rapid descent from the roof of the low building with an 'ICON' sign slapped over it only earned a few glances. Well then...it seemed she need not have worried about hiding her Force abilities. That would make things considerably easier.

The Jedi dropped down and made her way to the indicated point, raising an eyebrow slightly at the junk pile, which seemed rather out of place for the otherwise affluent area. Less out-of-place was the other respondents, though it was difficult to tell whether they were native to the world or multiverse Elites such as herself.

"It looks that way," she commented to the kangaroo, simultaneously reaching out with the Force to gauge what they might be up against. Thankfully, the Force seemed to follow Revan wherever she went.

Maya has posed:
This city was something all right she knew it after a fashion but it wasn't the one she knew. The multivere was a strange palce but still it's quite the place really. Either way she was here responind to the call and ended up outside the cave. She had a feeling of dread but that's just her history with dungeons and the traps that may lay within gaves and the like. She looks over to junkpile for a moment with a grin, then again she's from an city made of scrap surroudned by a massive junkyard. She might be able to go through that pile when things are done here.

She also look to Cory for a moment and nods she pulls out a blue card which soon one would see blue energy leaking out of her body into the card, and it seems to burn with a blue flame, she reaches out trying to get a feel for the people in the caves. Hopefully she can get something in there. She makes note of Revan and Rebound's arrivals, but she's currently focused upon her spell.

Clicky (761) has posed:
It's when Cory lands on top of the junkpile that things get... different.

There is a sudden rustle and shifting of the junk and the hoot of an steam whistle, carrying an almost... aggrieved tone? "AIEE! No touchy!" A sinuous neck erupts from the top of the pile, a stovepipe and mailbox seemingly fused together to make a dragon... ish maw with bottlecap teeth. Camera eyes independantly iris in and out, trying to focus on Cory as the mailbox flag on the side of the head flaps indignantly. "How would you feel if I landed on your sleeping-place, hmm? No consideration!"

Demetrios Vasilikos (769) has posed:
A pile of junk!? Disgraceful! Also an enticing treat for certain threats in Paragon City. Having first appeared mid-2001, the Clockwork are mechanical beings who scavenger for metal and materials. Their scavenging can get pretty destructive as they disassemble cars right where they're parked, siphon electricity from the power grid, and attack any threats who get in their way. Already the whirring of gears the winding of keys in metal backs, might be heard as a line of the robots walk along the sidewalk towards where everyone is gathered.

Cory's sensing for life force/Ki reveals there are indeed a group of people scattered throughout underground passages, and the cave entrance with a sheet of rock propped up against it in a haphazard attempt at hiding it seems to be the way to get to them! People flying around isn't exactly unusual around here, so there isn't much attention paid by civilians to Cory's arrival, though it's slightly showier than most other flight powers, so there might be some casual observers who take pictures or something, but (much like with Rebound) they mostly just take it in stride and go on about their business. Heroes are amazing, but there's more and more of them. Better not to get in their way if they're on the job!

Landing a vehicle on a roof isn't necessarily standard operating procedure, but presumably there's a reason for it, and since Icon is all about helping out heroes, they are probably accustomed to the eccentricities of costumed crime fighters. It's unlikely they'll raise a fuss unless it somehow causes damage to their business or endangers people.

Much like with Cory, Revan's force senses, and Maya's magic card, are likely to detect there are people below ground. Anything more than that might require actually going down there, but depending on the accuracy and sensitivity of the trio of sensory-ability-using heroes, they may determine the people are arranged in several small to medium-sized groups, scattered throughout the same general area, with one or two groups moving slowly from place to place. If they can detect 'power' or the 'potency' of life force/energy, they may determine that there are two larger powers down there, and a handful of slightly smaller powers, with the rest being close enough to human average to not stand out overly.

Revan may possibly detect something more immediately nearby, however. A feeling like a pressure or almost-words emanating from multiple points.

Clicky suddenly makes his appearance! Was it him?

Not quite. Shortly after Clicky protests his treatment, just after people have a chance to react, a blast of electricity comes streaking out of nowhere as one of the Clockwork who have stopped nearby start attacking what they have identified as threats! A Sprocket carrying its head under its arm, and three Cogs that looks like a more humanoid version of Clicky. The other three start hurling electric bolts moments after the one in the front does.

What a wonderful distraction from the rescue mission!

Cory (768) has posed:
"Wh-whaogh!" Cory shakes and wobbles, uprooted by a MOVING PILE OF TRASH! Once she has purchase again she springs off, going into a dizzying midair somersault. "How was I supposed to know someone was in there?!" She retorts angrily. Clicky's unlikely to get an actual apology in anything but her grudgy tone.

Freakily, she doesn't actually land but instead hovers about ten meters above the ground near the rock that hides the cave.. just STARING at the bizarre mechanical things running around. Staring, that is, until they go hostile and just start SHOOTING EVERYWHERE.

"Ha-heeeeeey! What's your problem?! Fine, right back at you!" She gets a glancing blow from a few of the bolts, ducking and weaving with great speed... then extends a hand. Bluish-white bolts fly from the palm, each about twice the size of her fist, and rain down on the mechanical cretins!

"So much for getting the drop on these guys... HEY! Are all of you here for that rescue mission too?"

Clicky (761) has posed:
Clicky was just going to get a nice solid complaint in at Cory! The nerve! However, this is interrupted by Clockwork! The crackling electrical blast scorches past Clicky, part of it sizzling down through Clicky himself.

He is, after all, made partially of metal. Very conductive. He squeals, jerking out of the junkpile as a host of panels open up with bells, whistles, musical instruments, metalworking equipment, a tiny anvil, and other strange and just /weird/ objects studded along the length of his body, the pile noticably shrinking as it is revealed that the majority of the pile was, in fact, Clicky's body. It scurries to hide behind Revan, who looks dependable enough, and shudders. "Please help me! These are very scary!"

Never mind that Clicky's central mass is the size of an economy car.

Rebound (750) has posed:
Sudden lightning bolts out of nowhere gets Rebound's attention, especially when she gets zapped in the spot that's still sore from taking a saiyan ki-blast a few nights prior, "Ow! The hell?!" SHe turns around to look at the approaching Clockwork, "Okay, you guys wanna play that way, huh?! Fine!"

The kangaroo jumps forward, moving to try to engage the smaller clockwork bots in hand-to-face combat. Being a highly trained martial artist, none the less she's not used to fighting opponents smaller than her, so she has to adjust her stance as she tries to swing for the headless robot, figuring that one is probably a bigger issue if it's able to keep moving with it's own head in it's hands.

Revan (414) has posed:
Revan couldn't be terribly surprised when the 'pile of junk' in fact turned out to be an actual life-form. She almost asked why in the world Clicky chose that /particular/ spot, but decided the better of it. Instead, she commented on the hostage-takers in the caves below. Chances were good that the others were present for the same reason she was. "There are...mostly small groups down there. Most aren't very powerful, I think, but there are a couple down there we'll need to watch out for."

The arrival of -- what /were/ those things, anyway? -- cut off any further explanation. Rather than immediately drawing her lightsabers, Revan's right arm shot up, as if to intercept and redirect the lightning...which was exactly what she was attempting to do.

Their attackers appeared vaguely droid-like, but they certainly weren't being powered by anything apparent. If anything, they seemed to be controlled via a remote of some kind...and that was when she heard the vague whispers. "They're controlled /telepathically/?" she blurted out, so amazed by the idea that her usual caution didn't have enough time to kick in. Glancing down at Clicky, she smiled slightly with a wry note. "Stay close," she cautioned.

"Speaking for myself, yes," Revan replied to Cory, unsheathing her blue-bladed lightsabers with the characteristic /snap-hiss/ and deflecting another electric blast in a single motion.

The Clockwork minions, however, got another response. "Come get some, you bucket of bolts!"

Maya has posed:
She pause as Clicky takes shape and seems a little bit amused.

"Well you were pretty good at hiding, you were mistaken for terrain I'd say. Consider it a compliment to your skills at hiding."

Maya's sounding fairly good natured she picks up there's a number of people down there quite a few there. She gets the idea they seem to be clusteed into groups down and there may be some bigger hitter tdown there than others.

"Humm looks like they set up groups. here nd what the heck...?"

She turns to the Cogs and is already moving to cast a water spell, which attempts to focus beams of high pressure water at the cogs.

Demetrios Vasilikos (769) has posed:
Cory's ki blasts rain down on the Clockwork, blasting off parts of their metallic hides, while Rebound strikes the Sprocket hard enough to send it flying backwards. It lands heavily, but picks itself back up with little hesitation, apparently intending to rush back into melee range and use its metal fists. The small thing is surprisingly quick. If these things feel pain, it's definitely not evident. They look like they were cobbled together from bits and pieces of rusted metal and whatever else was lying around, very much like Clicky, though with less variety and probably a bit less sturdy looking. Though the Sprocket's metal 'ribcage' is caved in, support struts bent, there's no real visible MACHINERY inside of it. No circuits, no electronics, no cables or power supply... A frame, with nothing to animate it. It's most likely as Revan surmised. Psychically-controlled robots.

Though who or what is controlling them is another matter they might need to ask about later.

A Cog loses an arm to Cory's Ki and then loses several more parts, until it goes down, the key turning in its back stopping... Along with the sounds it was producing. One Cog hangs back and keeps shooting lightning up at Cory, despite all of the Clockwork looking like they're on their last legs, structurally speaking. Explosive blasts from above, martial arts, and soon, laser swording. The one Cog that was continuing to shoot electric bolts at Revan only for them to be deflected gets swept up in the pressurized water blast from Maya and smashed to the ground. It doesn't get back up, apparently having suffered enough damage.

When that last Cog is defeated and the Rebound defeats the already-damaged Sprocket, the Clockwork will cease to be a threat. Four heroes versus four Minion-level enemies? Not much of a challenge, even if they may have gotten a few scorch marks in here or there.

Rebound (750) has posed:
Blocking metal fists with your bare arms still stings a bit, though Rebound has felt worse pain. She's a bit surprised about the fact that the thing has no moving parts, as far as she can tell. She's no machinist, but the explanation that Revan gives might well be enough, "Psychically controlled robots? Geeze. Well lets see them control this!"

The 'roo shifts her weight, planting one foot and coming around to deliver a spinning back kick to the Sprocket, knocking it back through the air so it lands perfectly inside of a trash can next to the street, "That's definitely a three pointer."

Clicky (761) has posed:
The moment the Clockwork are trashed, Clicky perks up and scuttles over to the remains. "Oooh, tick-tocky mechanicals! Very different, no power sources! I enjoy rustic design!" He picks up one ot he clockwork keys out of he back of the robot and sort of wedges it into the back of his head.

It starts spinning on its own, and the mailbox flag wavers in delight as he rummages in the parts, beginning to strip things out of them. "Clicky appreaictes help! I will give you a present and come with you on adventure!" He begins assembling /something/ at high speed. What is it?

Cory (768) has posed:
Once the smoke clears, a rather singed Cory lands near one of the trashed Cogs, picks it up and just glares at it before tossing it away like trash. "THIS is their idea of a front door guard? So much for there being any fun out of this. Better do it though..." She does end up grinning at some of the others. Especially Rebound.

"Well we've gotta get in here! Will it help with that or should I just blast a way through the rock?"

Revan (414) has posed:
Redirecting lightning blasts could be a rather painful affair, but fortunately a mere electrical strike from a psychic robot-like contraption was not nearly the same thing as Force lightning from a Sith adept. Her skill in tutaminis seemed more than adequate for the job, especially since everyone else made short work of the Clockwork. "Well, that was...different," Revan quipped, resheathing her lightsabers as the defeated mob fell apart. Literally. "Nice work."

The Jedi shook her head. "They don't seem connected to the groups in the caves, though. Whoever or whatever is controlling them isn't down where we need to go."

She did, however, find herself curious as to what Clicky was building. Even if it couldn't get them through the stone slab blocking the way, a little bit of muscle or Force could easily take care of the problem.

Maya has posed:
Maya sees the cogs are now handled for the moment, she moves to get ready to go in.

"We'll worry about this later, we got a hostage rescue to deal with."" She notes she lookc to Cliuckyt for a moment bobbing her head a little bit, as she tries to get a look at what Clicky is making buyt she now attmept to focus on the caves.

"We should move."

Clicky (761) has posed:
Clicky peeps and chirps and clicks with glee as he works. Small saws, clamps and even an arc welder pop out of various areas of the junkdragon as he works, and he even uses a few pieces of himself to graft it to the object he's forming.

He then puts it on top of his head. "TAA DAAAAAAH!" He pronounces, the large object looking like some fusion of an old-timey camera and a safety helmet. "Portable camera-helm! Also gives directions! "He points at a bobbing compass sphere hanging off of one side at the edge of vision. He scurries up and presents it to Revan with a big smile. "Here, have this gift, friend!"

Exuberant, isn't he?

As soon as the camera-helmet is handed over, Clicky scurries over to the cave entrance. "So, we are entering, yes? Here we go!" With a hissing, Clicky wedges his (not very sharp) claws into the cracks and begins pulling the boulder out of the way so they can enter.

Cory (768) has posed:
Cory wastes no time helping Clicky push the rock. Something that's impressively easy for her, given her small size... and that she's no doubt laden with a multitude of weights!

"Let's just get this on with!" SHOVE!

Revan (414) has posed:
Revan grinned at Clicky as he presented his gift. Hopefully, T3 wouldn't be too offended by the idea. He was already moping after her fascination with all the varied robots and droids in the multiverse. "Thank you. That's very kind."

Nodding her agreement with Maya, the Guardian once more lifted her arm as she extended her mind outward to help with the rock, helping to move it through the Force. If time wasn't of the essence, she would have used her more mundane abilities to move it rather than being overly-dependent on the Force for raw power, but they were on a bit of a schedule.

Rebound (750) has posed:
With her robot taken care of, Rebound rejoins the group at the entrance to the cave, watching Clicky go to work removing the boulder, "I can help you out with that, robo dragony dude." She offers, as she moves up alongside him.

She's pretty strong in her own right, so the two of them working together should be able to get this boulder out of the way and allow the team entry into the hidden cave system.

Demetrios Vasilikos (769) has posed:
Once everyone has entered the dark passage that leads into an underground cave network... They exit out almost immediately into a large open area, with dust and stone fragments and dirt all over the ground, and cave walls that are a mix of smooth and angular. There's rougher outcroppings here and there, and the level of the floor seems to rise up, up ahead, though with the way the ceiling plunges, it's likelly there's a corridor heading downwards.

There doesn't appear to be any guards posted at the door. That just means the heroes have the element of surprise on their mission!

If they move forward towards the only real way out of this section of the caves other than the one they came in through, they'll find a rather steep slope that drops almost straight down only to level out slightly - enough to prevent any falling-related injuries, and then swerve off to the left and around the corner of a stone wall, making a sharp turn back to the right.

The sound of male voices can be heard, their talking drifting up the passage.

"Keep an eye out for capes."

"Shouldn't we be guarding the door?"

Further investigation reveals a guy in a red, backwards baseball cap, grey shirt and pants, with a gun tucked into his belt and a fireman's axe hanging at his side. Another guy in similar attire but with a light-brown wool beanie, a yellow shirt, and dark-brown pants, with a sledgehammer instead of an axe, is following the first guy. They seem to be just wandering through the tunnels on patrol.

They don't look like doctors, so they're probably part of the group responsible.

Revan (414) has posed:
Shaking her head at the lack of guards, Revan was nevertheless not going to question that good fortune. But clearly, they were not dealing with tacticians. In some ways, that should make their task easier...at least, unless the bosses of the endeavour had a superweapon hiding underneath the cavern floor. But for the moment, they could deal with a few mooks.

Timing it so that the others could attack simultaneously, Lowri took advantage of their clear element of surprise. Using the Force to lift a decent-sized boulder from the cave floor, the Jedi hurled it at the mook closest to her -- the one in the red ballcap -- with the intention of stunning him but good, not to mention keeping the attention of the other on her.

"Actually, it's a cloak," the pale-haired Guardian quipped with a slight grin as she manifested a Force shield around herself.

Cory (768) has posed:
Cory really isn't bothering with stealth here. She just tromps on in like she owns the place, arms folded and a big grin on her face. The Saiyan's tail is still wrapped around her waist, so it's easy to mistake it for some kind of fuzzy belt unless you're RIGHT behind her.

And once one of the mooks are in sight-- ZAAOOOOOSH!

She's gone, faster than the eye can see - and driving her fist right into the other guy's gut for a knockout blow! "Too easy...."

Maya has posed:
Maya is now heding in with the rest of the band, she make sure Clicky is all right and she does wonder about what clicky made, she's not put off by it at all. It's like delaing with her brother when he was younger. She could see Grubb doing that and it does make her happy in an odd way. ith that in mind she keeps up with Revan moving to keep with the Jedi as they decend into the network of caves. She moves to unshoulder her rifle as she goes keeping an eye out for the enemy, she does spy the outcast but wonders they look like miltant homeless people which makes her wonder about just what's going on here.

"I don't bother with capes, they get stuck in a doors. Sho how about you just..."

There goes Cory doing as sayins are wont to do, stop any chance at diplomacy. So away she goes to attempt to pull another card and cast a curse upon the outcast to sap their energy, their strenge and slow them down.

Clicky (761) has posed:
Clicky scurries in after them, slipping around the tunnels. It looks like his body can compress some as he sort of flattens out in the smaller environment so he doesn't take up so much room. He doesn't move in to immediately attack, looking almost confused at the swift beatdown of the Outcast guards. "Ouch! Very spicy! You are all very strong!" He proclaims. "I am glad to have made strong friends!" There is another steam whisle toot and some clicks in happiness. After they have disabled the Outcasts, Clicky once again moves to deftly scavenge off of the fallen, leaving them perfectly intact, picking up odds and ends like a button here, a hat there, and the head off of the sledgehammer. Metal, you know. The metal head gets immediately stuffed into Clicky's maw, the sides of his mouth bulging out like a chipmunk. Clicky claps, and lets them lead the way forward.

Rebound (750) has posed:
She's probably not as fast as Cory, but Rebound is probably going to be stronger than these goons would be prepared to deal with. But it seems like she might not even get the chance as the team takes the goons down with little effort.

"I think you guys might be a little outmatched for them." She says, as she strolls up to where the group was just taken down. She looks over at Clicky and then gives him a smile, "Better to have strong friends than strong enemies, right?" She says, grinning his way.

Demetrios Vasilikos (769) has posed:
Thud! The guy with the axe is knocked out, thanks to a combination of boulder from Revan and and weakened constitution from Maya's curse. He lets out a strangled noise of pain and surprise right before he stops being conscious. The earth-tone guy yells, "Heroes!" and then pulls out his pistol as he takes aim! He hesitates when he sees the giant metal dragon-thing, however, and then gets punched by Cory in his moment of inaction, and sent flying down the corridor! Must have landed a critical hit! After a little while (and after being looted by Clicky), the two Outcasts seem to fade out of existence slowly amid glimmers of blue light. Not like they're illusions, but like they're being teleported somewhere.

Maya has been to a different version of Primal Earth. Maybe she can explain the Paragon teleport network to her companions, and how it can lock onto unconscious criminals once they've been defeated and apprehended, so that they can be sent straight to jail (with medical aid provided upon arrival, obviously).

Moving forward, the passage curves and winds its way into a much wider tunnel that stretches more or less straight ahead, though it seems to have branching passages off to the sides. A couple groups of Outcasts are encountered, including a mix of more of the mudane-ones, along with some stronger ones wielding more than just mundane weapons. These Outcasts are invariably guarding kidnapped doctors, and possess powers like pulling boulders up out of the ground in a manner similar to Revan, and then throwing them, or covering their fists in stone to enhance their punching power. Even some of the weaker ones, wearing elemental-associated symbols on their shirts, seem to have minor powers. Ice bolts and frozen fists, mini-fireblasts and flaming hands.

Each doctor who is rescued - Jones, Ivo, and Zaius - thanks his rescuers and provides a brief assurance that they can make it out on their own. But one of the doctors provides a clue about what's going on.

"Listen, I need to tell you something!"

Demetrios Vasilikos (769) has posed:
    Clue Obtained

'One of the physicians you rescued had this to say: "I'm not sure, but I think the Outcasts were looking for a geneticist for some reason. I heard their leader say to grab all of us, just to be sure, but the only one of us who has that kind of experience is Dr. Vasilikos!"'

Eventually, the group finds one last area of the caves: a very large cavern with a whole bunch of Outcasts lying on the floor of it. One guy in the back is one of the two sources of power detected earlier. He has light-blue skin, and is wearing clothing remniscent of the electricity-wielding Outcasts fought earlier. He is flanked by a couple of other tough-looking Outcasts, and he is seemingly trying to threaten a man in a labcoat.

The man in the labcoat has his arms crossed and seems to be having none of it.

A blonde-haired hero in a dark-purple and black costume seems to possibly have been the one responsible for defeating the various other Outcasts lying around, but he seems pretty ragged now as well, and is trying to duke it out with a Brick who is using stone-encased fists on the clearly not melee-oriented super hero to keep him dazed and unable to use his powers.

Eventually, the unidentified hero manages to float backwards out of range of a fist and seems to do SOMETHING to the Brick, who first gets send flying backwards a considerably distance through a thrust of one hand, and then after he hits a wall and falls to the ground, pink energy radiates from the flying super hero's forehead as he focuses his powers. The Brick lets out a grunt and then goes to sleep for awhile.

There's just one doctor to rescue! The hero notices the others and calls out, "More heroes! Great! I'm Cortex! I'm a bit too dazed to help much, but if you can just go punch the guys menacing the doctor, I'll offer support!"

Then he lowers to the ground to conserve his energy. Assuming the good guys do as requested, they'll have psychic bombardment upon the bad guys going on when they charge in for the rescue!

Clicky (761) has posed:
Things move right along, and Clicky continues to acquire bits and bobs as they run over various villains and hail heroes.

The confrontation in the massive cavern causes Clicky to click around, his nails making tapping and scrabbling noises on the stone as he wraps himself around a stone pillar to look down over the proceedings. The sinuous junk neck armature weaves out into the air, extending a bit as he looks on in awe. "Ooooooooooooh, very impressive! Everyone has many interesting powers! Very elemental! Not like most wizards, reminds me more of... monk! Yes!" He chuckles and leaps off of the ledge, a propeller popping out and slowing his fall as he lands, "Hello, Cortex! It is good to meet you! You are very strong! Psionic powers are very useful here!"

He scurries around a bit, picking up a couple rubber bands, jamming it into his mouth with the rest and then scurrying forward with the others.

"Hello sirs, madams, and people of indeterminate gender!" He pipes up as he simply moves straight in to address the remaining Outcasts. "I am sorry to interrupt! Could we please be borrowing the doctoOOF!" His request is interrupted when a Brick punches Clicky in the head, which snaps backwards.

With a choking sound, the stuff in his mouth is swallowed with a gulp, and a large mass sort of rumbles down his throat.
5rClicky's camera-eyes iris open and closed independantly, sparking. "Ugh... I do not feel so goood..." He says. The rumbling noise grows, and then the eyes snap open as he opens his mouth and yells, "OH N-BLWAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!"

A fountain of oil blasts from Clicky's mouth, fountaining all over the floor and the outcasts.

Clicky (761) has posed:
Clicky then sniffles. "I am sorry! Very sorry! It will not happen again! Ugh, I am so embarassed!" There is a low hiss from him like a deflating tire.

Rebound (750) has posed:
Cortex is an actual hero in this world, not an outsider like Rebound. So of course Rebound will defer to the actual hero. She's following the lead of the rest of the group, although when the Brick punches Clicky in the head, Rebound suddenly finds herself very upset. He's way too nice for some jerk to be punching him.

The kangaroo bounds forward and drops down in front of the Brick, planting her tail behind her and then rising up onto it. Once she's up on her tail, she thrusts outwards with both of her feet and aims to smash the Brick with both big feet to knock him back into, well, wherever he winds up landing, because this should send him flying.

Revan (414) has posed:
The second big surprise of the day came from the hospital teleporters. For a supposedly 'primitive' world, it certainly seemed to have technology not present even in the Jedi's galaxy. Blinking in surprise, she cast a quick glance to the others to discern if any of them understood what just happened. On the other hand, they needed to hurry; surely someone down the path had been alerted to their presence...

Thankfully, they were able to free some of the doctors without too much hassle, one of whom provided a bit of insight as to why the Outcasts would kidnap doctors in the first place. Unfortunately, the Jedi wasn't yet familiar with all the ins and outs of this particular world, so she had to file that information away for later.

Yet another surprise came in the form of the fact that someone had managed to beat them to one of the more powerful mutant criminals. That in itself wasn't necessarily a bad thing, and the beaten Outcasts were proof enough of said someone's mettle. Even more so when Brick is...well, bricked. Unfortunately, not before Clicky was punched in the head, which may or may not have resulted in a larger-than-usual boulder flying towards the Outcast leader...which managed to avoid a kangaroo as equally-offended.

"Hey, you OK, little guy?" the Guardian asked the junkdragon.

"You could say we're heroes from...out of town," Revan replied to Cortex with a friendly smile belying the fact that she had helped take out the proverbial trash. Way out of town. "Well, let's get this show on the road," she commented before the party made their way to where their missing geneticist was currently being threatened.

Maya has posed:
As the party is moving to deal with the outcast thankfully things seem to be handled she pauses for a moment as they port out and vanish.

"The teleport network's got them from the looks of it. They have used some inventor tech here with the police to help with groups like this."

She presses on at this point as they move to rescu the vartious doctots they manage to get most of the doctors, now there;s the hero whose movingto help them. She'll move to cast a healing spell on him, the card glows pink this time and a pink aura would cover the hero.

"You okay Clicky?"

Cory (768) has posed:
"You're tougher than these dolts!" Cory's overjoyed to have something that looks INTERESTING to deal with - but then...

Just as she's running for the Brick... he topples over asleep. She frowns! "Sounds good to me. Let's go!"

She's just not going to be happy unless she gets to cut loose...

Thankfully, she does indeed have a target!

    The craziest of the bunch.

"I've had it with all the small fry and doing nothing! Finally, someone who can take a hit!" What she does next would normally not be the smartest thing to do in a cave!

She brings both hands together, palms cupped... and takes a more stable stance. "Ka...Me... Ha... Me...."

Dazzling blue-white power flows out from those palms, forming a compressing and shining sphere which she thrusts forward-- "HAA!!"

-- it is thankfully, nowhere near the level she COULD pump out.

A thick beam NEARLY as wide as she is tall flares out and curves slightly, aiming to slam the big guy in the side and knock him into a wall. There'll be a rather impressive explosion on impact, like a grenade going off-- but nothing hard enough to rattle the ceiling. Just knock a LOT of dust loose...

Demetrios Vasilikos (769) has posed:
"Listen, I don't want to break you. And you don't want to be broken. Helping us is a win-win situation!" Polarity Shift insists, explaining and gesturing to accentuate his explaining.

The doctor insists right on back, "You can forget about it. I won't be intimidated by thugs."

Then Clicky comes charging up, and Polarity Shift and his guards turn to face him - and see the other heroes beyond him. "Great, masks. Just what we needed."

The Brick may have gotten the first hit in on Clicky, but he soon faces painfully retribution at the hands (or feet, rather) of Rebound. He's tougher than the Minions, being a Lieutenant, but with psychic blasts hammering at his mind, Rebound's blow is powerful enough to take him out!

The other Outcast nearby is an Outcast Torch, and when he tries to shoot fire at the nearest hero, he winds up setting himself ablaze thanks to Clicky's oil 'attack'. He screams and runs around for awhile before the flames go out. At which point, thanks to Maya healing Cortex and getting him back up to strength, he gets his sleep centers slammed and passes out.

Revan hurls a boulder at Polarity Shift, just as he takes off into the air after shrouding himself in an electrical field that damages anyone who gets too close. He flies a lot farther from the impact than would have otherwise been the case due to being in mid-air. Polarity Shift, seeing as he is outnumbered, has lost his entire crew, and is likely going to jail in a moment, decides that rather than continuing to fight, he's going to run for it! He takes off flying towards the cavern exit at high speed!

Cortex yells, "No you don't!" And pulls back a hand to TK blast the Lead Shocker, but instead Cory releases a potent energy beam that strikes Polarity Shift in mid-air, sending him spiralling through the air to crash into one of the walls of a passage. Combined with the Force-powered boulder to the face he took already, the explosion and the stone wall is a bit too much for him keep fighting.

Cortex stops with his hand pulled back and his mental power ready. Thankfully psychic powers are based upon the mind, and so he doesn't have a big build up of energy and nothing to use it on. He simply relaxes those mental muscles, and gives a sigh of relief. Still, that was a pretty impressive beam!

The last remaining doctor, meanwhile, comes running up and says, "Thank you, all! I'm Doctor Vasilikos. Those criminals wanted me to use my knowledge of medicine to enhance their mutant powers! Ridiculous! I treat super heroes, I don't engineer super villains!"

Cortex, still looking a bit ragged but better than before thanks to Maya's healing, also looks around at everyone and runs a hand through his toussled blonde hair. "Haha... I guess I overestimated myself thinking I could rescue the good doctor on my own. It's a good thing you all showed up when you did! You said you were from out of town? Let's go out and give a report to the police and you can tell me all about it!"

    Dun DUN dun dun... DAH!

    MISSION COMPLETED

Clicky (761) has posed:
The others inquire as to Clicky's state of health. He burbles for a minute, his claws going up to his head and adjusting it on the neck, as it was knocked off alignment from the impact. "I'll be fine! Everything is fine! How are you? OH DEAR! You are on fire! Let me help!" He yells, running after the Torch and a little articulated arm pops out of his ear and sprays some foam on the man, putting out the fire (and coating him in extinguisher material) before Cortex puts him to sleep.

In the aftermath of the battle, Clicky claps, applauding everyone! "Yay! That was very fun and interesting! I love seeing adventures! And now it is time for the celebration!" He pauses, and then a little lightbulb lights up on the back of his head (next to the key). "I have an idea! IT IS TEA TIME!" He hurks for a moment, and then goes PTUI, spitting out a glob of cherry red metal, presumably that hammer head. He quickly shapes it into an odd, notched teapot. He then connects the rubber bands to a small wheel, attatching it with a button, picking up a small lizard and putting it in the wheel, which also connects to rotary plate that Clicky quickly fashions out of a flat stone, a series of cups and saucers being ejected from ports on the junkdragon's body to create even spacing. He bends the hat he took into a nozzle, connecting it to the teapot with a hose, and he grins as he steps back, removing a stop on the wheel.

There is a hissing noise as the lizard runs in the wheel, chasing the piece of gum he took from one of the Outcasts, and the teapot heats up, whistling a jaunty, musical tune as the hot water steeps through the hat-filter and into the hatnozzle (don't worry, he cleand them first), and into the cups!

Clicky picks up one and sips delicately, an armature-pinky lifted just so. There's plenty for everyone!
