Synopsis: Taro and Fuki meet up with someone in another R&D department to aid in the possible future of new Garlean Technology...
Cast of Characters: Fuki, 399, 522

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
Taro and Fuki would find themselves once more lead to the underground facility of the archive holdings along with a great deal of R&D kept out of sight of the people. Things were a bit more busier then usually down here and if they ever did come to visit on the free time, they find this was starting to become common. Including security being much tighter then before as well.

Though if one kept up with what has been going on, the concern has risen with Nael Darnus' name being on the wind and given this whole underground, the data library, and the grounds itself belonged to the Darnus family-- it was understandable for the increased concern. Though most civilians believe it is an impostor-- a trick of the Eikons... but the officials, the people in charge, no better.

However the two of them would not find themselves going to a nice room with archives. They would find themselves taken to an R&D station really. More correctly--- one working on hydraulics for something... fairly large and robotic.

Including a completely different person they would be working with. A woman no less with a lab-like coat and blouse with a pair of trouser like pants. "So you are the two spoken about?" She asks them directly before tilting her head faintly. "Well... let us walk and talk then."

She then turns on her heel and starts to make her way for a back room past all the studies on the robotic limbs. "I've heard you both have research and studied the Allagan language, which means aiding us in break down of notations along with blue prints is critically important. Given the threat we are now dealing with."

"There is also no guarantee that monstrosity will be ready for operation any time soon when we will need of it, so we need to find alternative methods... even if it means combining Allagan technology with outside technology." She motions to the massive Living Machine they were greeted too when they first arrived. What many are now calling the 'Ultima Weapon'.

Taro (399) has posed:
Whether this Nael Darnus is real, imagined, or imposter may matter little in the grand scheme of things. What the world believes him to be is more important. Belief is a powerful thing. So long as someone is in the role of Nael Darnus and he is neither disproven nor discredited, then whoever the man truly -is- is to a large degree irrelevant.
But to more practical thoughts now. Taro's assitance as well as Fuki's has been requested, and so here they are. As usual, he'd have offered Fuki a shoulder to ride upon. On the opposite shoulder is perched on of his cyber-elves, who had quite an adventure yesterday and so feels safer in his company. He takes an appraising glance around this new workspace, noting the differences, making educated guesses as to its purpose. Not that they're kept waiting long, though the person who joins them is new to them all. "We are. This is Fuki," he gestures to the shinki, "And I am Taro Daisho. And you are...?"
Whether or not the researcher offers her name, he'll follow her at a steady pace. One that does not prevent him from glances back and forth at the works-in-progress and/or items-of-research out for view along the way. "We have. I'm also a specialist in robotics and cybernetics."
Ah. Yes. That monster whose presence he questioned when he first met it. The android priest's brow furrows at their second introduction. "How much progress, if any, has been made thus far?"

Fuki has posed:
Resting on the shoulder of Taro, her fox mask covering her face this time, she gives everything a look around as Taro makes his way towards the resiquite location. So many things have been translated, adjusted, translated again. At least her Master was proud of her works, even if some of the papers covering home was written in Allagan. "That thing is huge..." she whispers, giving a good look towards the Ultima Weapon. Since she didn't need to fly behind, sightseeing was okay, Taro knew where he was going.

Upon introduction, Fuki hops up into a salute, mimicing some of the Garlean salute's she seen, and with this, her mask shimmers out of appearance, showing her face. "A pleasure. If you're looking at combining technology, I'm sure Taro and I can find a way to make this happen."

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
The woman does not give her name. Seems when you change divisions, things get pretty impersonal, or that was just her nature entirely. She glances over to Taro as he asks his question. "On the Ultima Weapon? We are long from it. That is not in my hands, but one of the others. My division however is aiding in trying to find means to create and fabricate new limbs to replace its own. Engineer it enough where we may control it."

"But we have learned some things about it-- and that is what we are trying to see if we can make smaller duplications of, but... the power is the problem." The woman then opens a door after tapping in a code, it hisses as pressure is released, before they walk in. As they come in, lights flare on, computer like terminals come to life and there are all types of work tables and work tools.

"You said your a robotics and cybernetics? Good. Because what we like your help with is in such division. If we /can't/ control the Ultima Weapon in a timely manner, perhaps we can create something akin to it that can be used for a weapon by our own Magitek divisions or a new Machina drone.. much like the Vanguard." Her dark violet eyes then look over to a large monitor that has yet to come online.

"Blue prints can be access by that monitor... at least what we been able to translate of... there is still some pieces missing, because we don't have /everything/." Her gaze goes to them. "You are free to take those blue prints home to study in your own locations, but I request that you keep this in your own studies... not shared with those beyond us, alright?"

She shifts her weight slightly. "Consider this a show of good faith, given our Emperor wants use to start to work more closely with the Confederacy."

Fuki has posed:
Fuki gives a light nod, noting the nameless lady and getting a confirmation of the name of the large monster thing. "In essence, you're looking at creating tiny, relatively speaking, versions of the Ultima Weapon for use in various combat or transporation capabilities." she looks towards the monitors, her armor flashing into view before she takes flight to get closer to the monitors. "Hmm. Taro, come look at this." she starts running a finger along some of the lines, a smile upon her face.

"What is your time frame, that's the important question here. Given enough time, we can probably create something functional but if you need anything soon... we can work on adjusting the blueprints as needed and prototyping one out. You will let us have access to any material goods we need right? Steel, wires, rubber, diodes, ectetera?" she soon flies over to the dull monitor, tapping at it some to try and pull it up to look at the blueprints.

"Maybe I can do a side project with this..."

Taro (399) has posed:
Taro continues following, paying attention to their surroundings as they pass through one room to another. While the exact instruments and electronics differ from his own workspace, it is close enough to find this place comfortable.
"Control...yes, that would be highly important. A weapon that cannot be controlled is at best ineffective and at worst more a threat to us than to them." His frown shifts slightly, from dour to thoughtful. "Do we know whether the Ultima Weapon is intelligent?"
Fuki distracts him, and he turns to join her in looking at the monitor that caught her attention. "Hm..." Then, to the researcher, "I have a secure lab in my city. Any plans you see fit to share will be safekept there."

Gaius Van Baelsar (522) has posed:
The researcher looks between the two, seeming to ignore Taro's question about it being sentient. "You have access to everything we know schematically on the Ultima Weapon and all devices that the Allagan's may have had like it."

"As for the time," She rests his chin against her finger tips in thought. "I am not sure. Lord Van Baelsar requested in some ways soon as possible, given the threat with Nael. However the the Legatuses are not in agreement on how to handle the threat, nor if we here at home are in true danger." She closes her eyes with an idle sigh of mild frustration. "Thus I do not have a true answer for your question."

She then looks at them both. "Whatever supplies however you may require, we will be glad to provide. Our R&D department is given a loose budget, though I do ask that you don't make them question that, hm?" There was a mild smile on that serious face of hers. "Any further questions?"

Fuki has posed:
"I do not foresee any problem with that. Taro's efficiency and my size should make this a relatively cost efficient measure in terms of prototyping. While I can't promise anything myself, we'll get a prototype ready as soon as feasibly possible. Missing data is a tiny bit difficult to make up because of so many variables."

Fuki hmms, "Alright, time to hook up and download the schematics. Reserving space, initiating compression routines..." and there she sits, eyes closed. She makes a humming noise, a waiting tone as blueprints fly across the screen. It... almost sounds like a game show theme.

Taro (399) has posed:
His question is met with silence. Which suggests either they do not know, or that they do know but are unwilling to say. Thus, he allows for the possibility that the Ultima Weapon is intelligent, until it's proven otherwise.
"As soon as possible, but not so quickly as to be hasty and thus introduce unnecessary errors. Very well, then. I believe both of us have worked under such deadlines before."
As Fuki begins downloading, he turns back to look at the lady researcher. "We will have further questions, I'm sure, but at this moment I can think of none."
