Kyra's Worst Zit Ever
Date of Scene: 29 June 2015
Location: Galianda
Synopsis: Kyra's emotions overflow, causing a Malboro to burst from her head.
Cast of Characters: Arthur Lowell, 151, 168, Bahamut, 626, 633, 666, 703, 789, 792

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
Ramuh, Sector 12, Basment Level 2. This isn't so much the 'shady' part of town as it is the 'pitch black' part of a city where the sun never shines. Neon electric and magitechnology-powered lights line the subway-sized tunnels beneath a city, capping the ceiling at a small two stories high. Lining the perpetually damp street are loads of shops, clubs, and restaurants, though in this particular street that Kyra has turned upon seems to house a stunningly large number of pawn shops. Of course, this means that the people hanging around here are /extra/ shady and are not afraid to eye up outsiders that come down.

It's this reason and several more personal ones that Kyra has asked for people to come with her. The number that showed up might even be considered overkill but after what happened in ADVENT and what is currently happening with a pink-haired guitar-wielding lady, Kyra does not want to take any chances. The white mage has seemed pretty stressed out recently, complaining of headaches.

Her hood has been pulled down low on her forehead. It's easy to assume that this has been done to conceal her face but, more specifically, it's to hide the huge red lump bulging on her forehead. "Okay, so, almost there. Golden Saucer Pawn is what we're looking for."

Orphen (703) has posed:
"This your world?" Orphen asks as he walks next to Kyra, hands in his vest pockets while looking from left to right. He's got the keen eyes of someone trained to be an assassin, but he's otherwise pretty casual.

Arthur Lowell has posed:
Arthur is along for the ride, albeit in a proper coolkid way. Which is to say, just sort of wandering along, playing on his phone alongside Kyra. He knows the psychological benefit to going out with friends, and he'll likely have gone on this and many other excursions. He's still averse to Galianda, but at the very least his involvement with Kyra comes first. He's using his mundane outfit, rather than his GODLY ROBES. He wanders and wanders, and asides, one tutor of Kyra to the other, "More like its DAMP AS HELL BASEMENT. Yo, you gotta get DRAINAGE up in this bitch."

He is, of course, chronically aware of being eyed up, and nervous about it, but he kno9ws he can handle himself, and so he forces himself into the usual swaggering, confident coolkid arrogance. Big grins, lots of apathetic disinterested posture. It's very casual. He's doing his best to be both PRESENT and also NOT NERVOUS, since ideally both will help assure Kyra's recent distress.

Bahamut has posed:
Bahamut has joined this expedition because...well, because Kyra seems to like him, and she needs help with something. But, even after his helping in the battle against the Shivan, he is cautious about this place. He follows Kyra, but he stays back a bit so that if some crazy fanatics come after him she and the others won't get caught up in it.

y He keeps his wings tightly folded, and moves on all fours for now to reduce his profile at least somewhat. And, he hasn't spoken either. As he continues following, he considers just how bad of an idea it might have been for him to come into a shady part of town. He is not concerned for his own safety, but he does not wish to cause any trouble for anyone else.

Ainsley (151) has posed:
Ainsley is with Kyra. She's not entirely sure WHY she tagged along, considering some of the experiences she had with Kyra's world, something to do with the bonds of friendship. The lizard woman tags along near Kyra silently and with a somber look to her face, ignoring any funny looks her alien appearance gets her. Her hands remain stuffed in her pockets and her eyes lidded and focused forward. She only pays attention to her allies, seemingly, though she is aware of any others nearby that might be a threat to the party if they decide they need to pick a fight with the heretic or her foreigner friends.
She brought her sword and both of her daggers. She's not expecting to need to use them, she just brings them along as a precaution most of the time.

Nathan Hall (168) has posed:
Nathan Hall is not here, at least not quite yet. He may be, soon, depending on the relaying of key alerts.

Sarah Parsle (789) has posed:
Sarah's been to the top of Ramuh, helping to take out some Storm Elementals and almost got electrocuted for it. Now she's deep into Ramuh. probably in areas that a little girl like her shouldn't be were she alone.

She can't even legitimately say she could hold her own, either. This place has been rough on her and her friends, and it's helping to teach them that there's always something nastier out there. But then, Sarah always knew that. It's /everyone else/ that doesn't listen, the cocky assholes.

The Ecto-Youth shuffles along with the motley group (Arthur is no exception, look at that motley ass coolkid swag, yo). "Watch out with that hood." Sarah advises. "Put it any lower and you're going to trip and fall over something, and that'll just be nasty."

Mirielle Edelweiss (666) has posed:
Mirielle is not 'here'. In fact, she's nowhere to be 'seen', though there are a few very rough-looking individuals shadowing Kyra. One wears a bandanna, has a cut across his cheek, and looks like the Poster Boy for a Thug's R Us commercial spread... If they were doing the High School edition. Another highschool-framed woman crouches in the shadows, wearing light cloth in dark colors and shadowing the group with Ninja Techniques.

Mirielle comes from the other direction, wearing a loose purple hoodie with lightningbolt patterns in shiny gold color and comes along. She was not invited.

She nearly bumps into Kyra. "Oh. Heh. Kyra. I certainly didn't know you were here. And I'm certainly not having you shadowed. Who are your... Oh. It's the god of space, and the person who got things thrown at them. Hello." She gives a very light wave. "I'm here on business and have not at all assigned a few thugs that owe me to watching you. What brings you to the get-mugged part of Ramuh, anyway?"

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"Yeah, part of it. We're on Ramuh right now, my home plate and city. The city is pretty much the size of the whole plate." Kyra explains to Orphen. "Hey, there is drainage! Just sometimes this tunnel overflows a little. Slightly. Just standing water." Kyra briefly gestures along the ground where every few feet, there is a grate. It's impossible to see what's down there but if someone were to point a flashlight in, they may see the distant flicker of water. The grates are very, very sturdy.

"This shouldn't take long. Almost there." she reassures everyone (though mostly herself) out loud. "Don't worry, Sarah, I can see just fine. It's no problem. No problem at all-gah"

Suddenly, Mirielle bumps into her. If it were anyone besides Mirielle who might actually have lower STR and CON scores than her, she probably would have been knocked over. Kyra whirls on her fellow Light Warrior, staring at her owlishly, "Wait, you did WHAT?" Kyra turns to look behind her, forced to sidestep so she can peer around Bahamut. "You shouldn't have. No really!" Kyra covers her face with her hands, "You /shouldn't/ have. You know what? No, forget it, I can't take this. /Abort/!"

Haruhara Haruko (792) has posed:
Have you ever had one of those moments, when you just feel like you're going to explode? Where the inner turmoil, the stress in your life, feels like it is going to come out?

Well, this is exactly what is happening to Kyra right now. She is Overflowing.

She'll find the hood of her outfit suddenly flying back off of her head. Something underneath, something she has been trying to hidden, is revealed to all. A small fleshy bump. But, this fleshy bump suddenly starts to stretch out, into a long tendril of flesh. Suddenly, more and more burst from Kyra's forehead. Some even appear from the sides and back of her head.

There is a throbbing feeling in Kyra's forehead as this happens. The pain is almost unbearable. It's like some sort of strange creature is bursting out of her skull.

And this is exactly what is happening.

A massive creature has burst out, landing on the street. It is twenty feet tall, and a writhing mess of tentacles. It stands on eight particularly massive tentacles. A gaping, tooth filled maw is on the front side of it, with a long slobbering red pointed tongue. It suddenly lets out a loud, belching sound. The entire surrounding area is filled with a completely noxious green gas, poisonous to inhale.

As for Kyra? The back of her head is /still/ connected to this creature, her body now laying against it. Several of its tentacles wrap around her torso, trying to hold her in place on top of it.

     Behold, the Great Malboro.

Orphen (703) has posed:
"Plate?" Orphen sounds confused by the terminology, looking over at the others who have arrived, including Bahamut whom he's already seen. Though the thugs, he looks back at the thugs. "I'm sure it'll be fine, if they try anything I'll--"

And then -all of that stuff- happens. He slides back, staring up at the creature, hand suddenly held down with his left wrapped around the right wrist. "What the hell is going on?! Somebody tell me what's happening -now-!" he demands of everyone who can hear.

Ainsley (151) has posed:
Ainsley turns to look at Kyra when Mirielle bumps into her and informs her inelegantly about a tail and generally disrupts the delicate emotional balance this whole trip had. The lizard woman's disapproval is mild but clearly visible on her face... until Kyra's reaction seems to get worse, drawing a look of confusion that melts away any unhappy demeanor. Then her eyes widen as this gets WEIRD, and she backpedals rapidly when a huge tentacle beast emerges from Kyra's head--

Ainsley's longsword is already drawn, but she doesn't go on the offensive, instead picking a place somewhat... behind the group and activating her Arcane Sight to scan the strange beast from a safe distance. Safe being about a dozen yards away from it. She absolutely does not want to be in sneezing distance of a Malboro. She knows what they are and what they can do. "Yeah I have no idea," she tells Orphen, "Deal with the monster parasite or whatever the hell it is, then we'll wonder about the how and why. You do NOT want that thing breathing on you."

Bahamut has posed:
Malboro. One of the most dangerous creatures in the FF universe, regardless of which it is. It looks a bit different, but Bahamut recognizes it immediately. And he springs into action just as immediately. The dragon roars before bounding forward. He leaps over the group and pounces at the creature. Some small voice in his head says 'what if this Malboro is not a mindless monster?' but that voice is quickly silenced by several others shouting 'KILL IT!'

Sharp talons attempt to rend the creature. Bahamut leaves Kyra's wellbeing to the others. He is certain either she or the others with her can deal with the backlash to her health. He is more concerned about not allowing this creature to strike anyone with its tentacles or breathe its toxic mist on them. "Everyone! Back away!" the dragon calls out to the others. "Engage from a distance if you can!"

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"Ow." Kyra mutters, the headache returning. She's halfway to one of the pouches around her waist when she doubles over on the ground. The 'ow' turns into a scream of pain as foul-smelling green fills her field of vision. She claws at the skin, trying to extract the rest of the creature from her forehead, the writhing head tentacles entangling and gripping her as she does.

"OH GODDESS GET IT OFF OF ME!" Kyra shrieks in terror. Speaking of terror, just the sight of the Malboro sends bystanders running away, screaming.

Sarah Parsle (789) has posed:
The conflict causes Sarah to pause. Oh look, Kyra just ran into someone. Sarah was just about to open her mouth to engage in her usual 'I told you so' when something unexpected and worse happens.

"Why did you have a giant horrorterror in your head?" She asks.

And then she shudders as the enormity of the creature is made apparent. "/Why/ did you have a /giant horrorterror/ IN YOUR HEAD?" She repeats... And then sucks in a lungful of gas. She immediately starts choking and coughing. "UUUUUUGH!" She groans. This puts her into motion, trying to scramble forward and use her small size to attempt to squeeze past before she's trapped on the BAD SIDE of the Malboro. What can she even DO to that thing?

Arthur Lowell has posed:
Arthur goes about laughing, talking, and similar things, until the sudden encounter with Mirelle -- oh hey, Arthur vaguely recognizes her! -- and the subsequent outburst and out... blasts. "AUGH!" Arthur yells, stumbling back and losing his cool for a moment as something jumps out of Kyra's forehead. "WHY." He says, in a frantic tone, and then nothing else. Really, at the end of the day, what needs saying besides 'why'?

Of course, primary priority is extracting Kyra. Who cares if Arthur gets poisoned? Once Kyra is extracted, she can deal with that, but first extraction is priority. Immediately, he's brandishing his KING BROOM, summoned to his hand right out of his Strife Deck, and he's trying to plunge its bristled end, whirling and cutting with tremendous blending force, into the tentacles to gut them of their planty flesh, weakening their grip. With his free hand, he's trying to yank Kyra away!

But he doesn't lose his sense of humor. "ACTUALLY JUST 'GOD', PLEASE DON'T YOU START MAKING THAT MISTAKE TOO." There is no time that is too inappopriate for Arthur's insecurity about his feminine appearance. This also means he'll get a good solid lungful of that horrible poison, which will immediately race into his system and start brutalizing him with toxins from the inside.

Mirielle Edelweiss (666) has posed:
Mirielle is not really prepared for what happened. Well, she was prepared to be yelled at. Prepared for Kyra to let her have it, prepared for many expectable things. She was prepared to be called a horrible friend, a little witch of a girl, a terrible person, shady...

She's not prepared for Kyra to HAVE A MALBORO GROW OUT OF HER HEAD.

The ninja-girl hiding in the shadows leaps from cover to dive Mirielle to the ground, away from the giant betentacled monster. "Divines, what's going ON?!" She cries, bodyblocked. "Why... what...?"

Haruhara Haruko (792) has posed:
The Arcane Sight doesn't pick up much yet. Nothing communicative is transmitted. It's hard to even tell how this creature might be /seeing/, since it has no eyes. But, it /does/ seem to have some means of sensing what is around it. It's a strange sort of mix of tremorsensing, sensing the vibrations in the air similarly to echolocation, and some sort of magical ability to detect its surroundings.

As Kyra works against the creature, she'll be able to get her head off of the creature a bit. It isn't /fully/ off, but it will take some concentrated pulling to get off of it. This is made more difficult by her being caught in the mass of tentacles on its back. It has a potential prey within its grasp, after all. Some support might be needed to get her fully removed.

Which is where Arthur comes in. The blending cuts apart the tentacles, and then he is able to grab Kyra. A single pull, and she'll be pulled off of the beast, her head no longer attached to it.

Of note: Arthur can probably detect an INCREDIBLY BIZARRE rift in Space inside Kyra's head.

As for Bahamut, its claws rend at the beast, causing several tentacles to have large gashes on it. But, the Malboro's mouth isn't just for show. While the creature is within its range, it /will/ attack. Its slobbering maw reaches towards Bahamut, it's tongue trying to wrap around the dragon. It'll then bite down, trying to chomp upon the dragon.

Tentacles and Sarah have a long history. Seemingly, this is still going to be a long and reoccuring problem. As Sarah attempts to get past, the tentacles start to fling at her, aiming for her legs. If successful, they'll lift her above the ground, carrying the young player upside down by them.

The Malboro attempts to fling a tentacle at Mirielle, but she is pushed out of the way. More of its tentacles are beginning to stretch towards her, as well. But, this won't be the only thing that will be causing her problems. The Malboro has plans for the entire group.

The Malboro also launches a single attack, to hit the group as a whole. A massive burst of poison flies out of its mouth. This opaque cloud of gass will cover the entire group. Those caught within will feel various status effects trying to alter the party in various ways. Poison, paralysis, and even their bodies trying to shrink or turn into frogs. The Elites can likely resist this with willpower, at least depending. (CONSENT BASED TRANSFORMATION)

Orphen (703) has posed:
"Screw it then!" Orphen starts running forward, though he takes heed of Bahamut's words. "I Call Thee, Heavenly Jump!" he shouts, before leaping high into the air, almost like flight, but then he lands a good 20 feet behind the creature. "Back here, I should be able to avoid hitting the dragon..."

He turns around, taking a deep breath. "Don't worry, Kyra." He holds his arms out wide, crouched slightly. "Divide the Wall of the Sky!" He brings his arms in, almost like Guile's Sonic Boom gesture, then a large white crescent blade of energy goes flying toward the larger support tentacles. Rather than powerful, this magical attack is -sharp-, sharp enough to cut through multiple trees. He's leaving Kyra to Arthur.

And then the gas. Even behind, the gas is -vicious-. "It's... it's like some kind of exotic spirit magic..." he says as he tries his best to resist the transmutation. "I Hold Thee, Shrew's Dance!" he casts, though he does this to dispel the -paralysis-. He actually finds himself shrinking very quickly, and he can feel himself gradually weakening due to the poison. "Crap..."

Sarah Parsle (789) has posed:
And just as soon as Sarah tries to scramble past, she gets snagged by the tentacles horrorterror. With a wail she gets hoisted up by one leg. Thank Gods she decided on pants today. However, upside down she can't even fight back. Her JENGA STACK obeys gravity. she'd summon it up and it would just immediately fall apart, useless. She flails, trying to wrench at the thing holding her, but she's no match for this...

And then it gets worse as she gets a dose of Bad Breath. Her choking and gagging quickly rises in pitch as she shrinks even smaller, the tiny Ecto-Youth becoming poisoned, Slowed, paralyzed, miniature Sarah in the clutches of a horrible carnivorous plant.

Arthur Lowell has posed:
Arthur yanks Kyra free, but suffers the debilitating effects of POISON. Well, at least now they have a white mage here to deal with the status effects! Arthur, unfortunately, is a SPACE MAGE, and therefore lacks a lot of physical resistance elements.

Now Arthur is miniature. GREAT. Thankfully, his magic does not require a full-size body or the ability to be heard while he's yelling, nor the ability to move too much. While POISON is currently coursing through his tiny body and draining HP, he can still float around like a support pixie. "THIS IS THE WORST." He declares in a tiny voice that is still sort of difficult to hear. Despite the many status effects, he flits away from the awful malboro, shouting in that tiny voice and launching a voley if surprisingly large bolts of fusion energy at his foe, going right for the 'throat', which is to say, seeking to puncture or damage whatever horrible tubes are conducting the horrible gas from their glands of origin. They need to get that gas dealt with to be able to get in on melee!

Bahamut has posed:
The fact that he is an Aeon is the only thing that saves Bahamut from the terrible fate of nearly every status effect a single creature can have. Shrink and paralysis bounce off of him, but even he cannot resist the poison and the slow. Or the blindness. And, to make things worse, he is chomped. Bahamut roars as those powerful teeth punch into his armor all around his body. He ends up with his head and arms actually inside the creature, a bit of his blood trickling from his wounds.

Of course, there are advantages to being half-inside a terrible creature. And one is that talons plus soft insides usually equals unhealthy creature. Bahamut roars again, his legs straining against the ground to keep him steady while he starts slashing inside the Malboro, and as he slashes he attempts to push it back, trying to pin it with his weight and strength.

Ainsley (151) has posed:
Ainsley frowns to herself as she discovers absolutely nothing on her end to tell her why the hell this is happening. She keeps trying to back away from the roiling monster breath but soon gets caught in it despite her best efforts. She deactivates the Arcane Sight and decides to try to disrupt the Malboro's ability to target them directly, using what little she saw of the creature to weave a spell to target its senses. She tries to confuse its magical sense most of all and make it think targets are in directions that hold no prey at all.

Despite slowly being poisoned, slowed, and mini'd by the awful breath, she is able to maintain a normal tone of voice... if you call 'echoing wizard voice' normal, when she starts rattling off loud command phrases that distort the air around the Malboro and create strange person-shaped distortions in the air in various places around it. She's just trying to trick it with very basic falsified information, though it does have visual artifacts anyone could spot.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
This particular position is a struggle against being COMPLETELY TRAUMATIZED for Kyra. Nobody should have to be faceplanted into a malboro or wrapped by their tentacles. Or worse, /both/. Her screaming continues as she tries to wrench herself free, calling for help, especially from anyone that happens to have a bladed weapon.

Arthur satisfies this well, freeing her from the malboro's grasp and pulling the last bit of the monster out of her forehead. Kyra's quick to grip Arthur with both hands and fortunately for him, she's not as encumbered as usual. Not that weight really matters too much to a God of Space, right?

Her clinging is short lived as Arthur suddenly becomes tiny and Kyra drops to the ground with nothing else to hold onto. Unfortunately for her, she too is right smack in the area of effect for the Bad Breath. Kyra gags as she tries to hold her breath unsuccessfully, poison settling in her veins, her vision dimming, and her muscles locking up. The astute watching her will see that her skin begins to turn grey as petrification starts to settle in, which prompts frantic chanting on Kyra's part. Immediately, she casts Esuna on herself, then gets the hell out of range of the Malboro.

She continues chanting, aiming another Ensuna, this time at Sarah, while her hands scramble to snatch up her needlegun and start loading them with remedy darts. It might be a problem, though, because a Mini'd target is really hard to hit. The ensuna spells keep flowing after the second, targeting each in turn. Ainsley is next, followed by Arthur.

Haruhara Haruko (792) has posed:
The cutting crescent blades tear apart at a number of the large tentacles. Orphen manages to hit it hard, causing a few of them to fall apart. As the tentacles land on the ground, they wiggle for some time before they eventually disolve. The paralysis is easily dispelled, at least. The Malboro responds promptly, by casting a spell. Various poisonous acidic bubles appear in the iar right around Orphen, trying to cut at the tiny fighter. Bio. At least, shrinking down to a small size won't hurt his magical abilities, just his physical abilities.

Sarah is now slowly being lifted in front of the maw of the Malboro, though. It is going to take it some time before it can place her within. The intent is obvious: To eat the young girl.

The young/ancient God of Space cuts right to the core of the problem. Yes, every creature that can emit some sort of poison has a source for that poison, and this is especially necessary for a creature such as the Malboro. The well aimed explosions hit dead on, blasting apart the organ that emits the poison, and damaging the gland that creates it. The creature lets loose a roar of pain as this occurs.

Bahamut's position proves useful, but dangerous. Even as the creature is being cut and town apart from the inside, the Malboro tries to bite down hard. Its own teeth will, most likely, sink into the dragon lord once again, with more force than before. Finally, though, its tongue loosens with one of the dragon's fierce slashes, the Malboro being forced to let go of its prey. Truly, it picekd too large a prize to devour.

Ainsley's spell is successful. The Malboro's senses are clouded and confused. Where as before, it knew where everyone is, it is now simply uselessly flinging its tentacles all around. It still knows where Sarah is within its tentacles, at least. But, it also is trying to walk around, to find the others. It finds itself crashing into a nearby structure while blind. Luckily for the structure, it proves stronger than the Malboro, at least mostly.

But, were there ever a time to strike? Now would be it.

Orphen (703) has posed:
Orphen holds his hands out when those acidic bubbles appear, "Forge, The Armor of Light!" A large, white-hot barrier appears around him. -Very- large, considering his tiny body. The acid pushes against it, but he's just trying to hold on until Kyra casts her spell, as his barrier primarily only functions to keep out -physical- things.

Once he begins to grow, he continues holding his shield up, waiting for all of this to play out... and then the Malboro falls.

"Alright... I can still manage this... I really need to actually start training again..." He sounds exhausted as he lets his barrier down, and as the bubbles are about to consume him, he casts, "I Dance, Through The Dimensions!" and vanishes.

When he appears again, it's in the air above the creature, holding his right hand out. "Unleash, The Blade of Light!" What explodes from his hand is a large white beam of hot energy, almost like a Hadoken or Kamehameha, his most powerful attack aimed directly at the creature's mouth. That seems like it's most vulnerable area... "If this doesn't work..."

Bahamut has posed:
Bahamut feels like he is nearly bitten in half by that second bite. Metal plates crunch and screech as those teeth plunge into them again, and the King of Dragons can't help but roar once more. And, he can't even use his most powerful attack. Too many people around, not to mention the city itself.

When the creature releases him, Bahamut stumbles back, gasping for breath and coughing heavily. Not only did he take the most direct hit from that Bad Breath, but he has been badly injured by playing the part of chew toy. He falls to one knee as he tries to fight through the pain, and takes the opportunity to...wait, the creature has someone else! Bahamut growls, then leaps forward again and slashes at the tentacle holding Sarah, then prepares to catch her. Whether she falls into his arms or not, he follows up his slash with a powerful blast of Flare. The regular one, not the mega one that is his breath weapon. Sheer energy tears into the Malboro, seeking to vaporize or set ablaze what passes for a mouth on this creature.

Ainsley (151) has posed:
Ainsley's ability to concentrate is basically dissolving before everyone's eyes since she's caught in the awful cloying smoke that is the Malboro Bad Breath. She flails her hands about a little and, in a squeaky voice, she shouts, "WHY DID IT TAKE MY WIND POWERS AWAY, WHY!!" She is really not enjoying having lost her ability to move large volumes of air, it would've really come in handy around now. She tries to shake it off, especially with Kyra helpfully casting Esuna, and starts to retreat even further away from the beast. Her voice picks up in volume as she needs to use more and more effort to maintain her debilitating spell on the big beast. Nothing she says is coherent in any immediate fashion, and some of the sounds don't even sound like something she'd be able to say with that mouth structure.

It's visibly exhausting for her to do this, so the window for everyone to act is very, very small.

Mirielle Edelweiss (666) has posed:
There is a lot of bad things going on. A lot of horrible, bad things. People run, screaming. Mirielle's Thug tries to help people away from the creature, dragging them away if he needs to to make sure they're clear of the horrible halitosis breath. Mirielle, and the Ninja, however?

There is a frog in ninja patterned clothes with a ninja mask, laying on top of a much smaller purple frog with dark eyes and tiny frog glasses.

Mirielle ribbits lightly, as both seem to be frogging it up on the outskirts.

    Bad Breath is the Worst.

Sarah Parsle (789) has posed:
"Ughhhhh, it's worse than listening to rY and cE /at the same time/." Poisoned, tiny, and in the middle of a mass of horrible tentacles, Sarah is basically having the worst day of her life.

And as she looks up and into the massive maw of that Malboro, it might also be the /last/ day of her life. The sight of that massive, fetid maw, the dripping toxic drool, the hideously sharp, rotting teeth, all this send mind-numbing, paralyzing fear rolling through her mind.

"Help me." She whispers. "Oh Gods, it's going to eat me... IT'S GOING TO EAT ME!" She screams. Kyra lands the Esuna, and the weakened Sarah returns to her normal size... And then Bahamut cuts through the tentacle holding her, dropping her into the dragon's arms.

Her eyes have a look that seems crystallized between abject fear and mind-curdling rage. "Bitch is gonna pay!!" She hisses, and unleashes her ENIGMA MODUS, tearing off a quivering piece of that tentacle with her hand and CAPTCHALOGUING that severed tentacle. It's dead now anyway, she doesn't care.

But this is only the beginning. Fragments of bone begin shooting out of her SYLLADEX as she begins to fire BONEBOO FRAGMENTS from her MODUS at high speed, aiming straight into that gaping mouth like a burst of calcified flechettes. "DIE!!" Sarah yells, as if her voice means anything, or it helping at all.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
At this point, Kyra keeps casting Esuna. She doesn't even bother to check if there are actual status effects on the targeted individual or not. A Malboro's bad breath is pervasive so the poisonous fumes could take effect again at any moment. The remedy gun is kept on standby now, not used, but readied in case the exceptionally terrible happened and Kyra herself was hit with Silence amongst all that bad breath.

There is a pause in the spellcasting for a few moments as Kyra rips a flask off her belt and chucks it beneath the Malboro's leg tentacles. "FIRE IN THE HOLE!" she warns everyone before the flask breaks against the ground, exploding in a blast that would be mostly muffled by the Malboro's bulk.

Arthur Lowell has posed:
Arthur is, thankfully, not going to be in Tiny Support Pixie mode too much longer. A quick Esuna gets him in working order again. And by destroying the creature's poison emission organs, he ought to be able to move in for melee now!

As soon as Kyra's explosive blast is cleared, Arthur is streaking through it, at least very slightly on fire, yelling with MUCH ENTHUSIASM! Going in while Ainsley has blinded it, he attacks from the side while Orphen attacks from above, his ROCKET-BROOM lighting up for a DASH-BURST. AS he streams in towards it, he whips it around, the bristles churning and screaming mechanically as he attempts to plunge it into the body of the creature itself, or rather the tentacled limbs, working to dismember it in broad sweeping strikes meant to blend through it like a chainsaw, to keep it immobile and unable to recover long enough to get impaled through the mouth.

Haruhara Haruko (792) has posed:
The team works together to fight. Bahamut manages to rend the tentacle holding Sarah, allowing Sarah to drop into his grasp. Sarah attacks immediately, cutting into the Malboro with the various pieces of boneboo. Though they don't cut tentacles clean off, they do manage to tear it up a fear amount. The flare tears at the creature, and at the same time, the massive blast from Orphen strikes as well. It cries out in pain, entirely on its last legs. Soon after, the explosive from Kyra burns and tears at its underside, blasting a chunk off its body. Sticky pieces of tentacles fly all over the place. Thankfully, it seems unharmful for the chunks to hit people. Some of them actually almost smell pleasant roasted. Though, who knows if it is a good idea to eat any.

Arthur, unfortunately for him, manages to be a bit more of a badass than he intended. With the creature failing, he manages to not just cut into the creature. He manages to cut completely /through/. He'll find himself pushing through the Malboro completely, creating a hole straight through it.

And then the creature explodes, covering the local street with massive amounts of disgusting Malboro chunks.

     VICTORY!

Orphen (703) has posed:
Orphen begins to fall back to the ground quite quickly, as he was mostly held up by the force of his blast. So he casts one last spell, "Enter My Arms, Nera!" and begins to fall at a significantly slower pace as the air itself very gently lowers him to the ground.

It's when he's covere din Malboro goo that he just sort of groans, exhausted. "Yeah... that figures..." and falls down to his knees.

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"Is everyone alright!? Are there any residual poisonous effects?" Kyra calls out once she's pretty sure the Malboro has been adequately gibbed by her friends. Rather than waiting for answers, she looks around and in her observation, spies Mirielle and her ninja bodyguard still stuck as toads. Turning from the group, she steps over and despite Mirielle's shenanigans earlier, she lays down a pair of esuna on the two.

She's being /extra nice/ at the moment, in fact, because the temptation to shoot frogs with darts was very high.

Next order of business, Kyra feels her forehead for where that malboro had exited. A Libra spell, which basically scans for statuses and other stats, follows. It's a little strange since she doesn't typically cast this on herself. The results make her eyes widen. "What...that's impossible, my head is /empty/." She looks to Arthur, "It's like a void."

Kyra hastily lowers her hand and flips her hood back on to her head. "Uh, like I was saying earlier, mission aborted. I'll find somewhere else to get a cheap scratchpad...or have them ship it to me." Yeah. That's the /only/ reason Kyra was interested in a pawn shop. They're pretty good at carrying cheap used musical equipment after all.

Bahamut has posed:
Bahamut grins as Sarah unleashes some destruction on the creature. Even as it explodes and he turns so that the pieces pelt his back and not Sarah he is grinning. "Good shot." he says to her while wincing in pain from his injuries and the impacts. Once the explosion has died down, he sets Sarah down...then proceeds to collapse onto one knee again, grunting in pain and exhaustion. He raises a hand when Kyra asks about residual effects. "...I am not sure I am poisoned, but I could use a healer's touch."

Sarah Parsle (789) has posed:
The horrorterror gets asploded, and Sarah hits the ground. Or rather, is placed there gently by Bahamut. "Thanks, dragon guy." She replies, then wanders over to one side, grumbling. "Always godsdamn tentacles." She mutters. "Look, Kyra, just get looked at. All of us should get out of this fine. Apparently even my lame ass managed to make it out of this mostly intact."

She rubs her face. "Ugh. You guys were right. That was the worst thing I ever smelled."

Arthur Lowell has posed:
Arthur comes to a stop, and strikes an appropriately DRAMATIC POSE while the creature explodes. There is no time that is inappropriate for some basic post-fight dramatics.

And then he's splattered with gross chunks.

Arthur then goes to check on Kyra, and when she explains, his eyes twist up in confusion. "WHAT." He says, simply. "Your head is... WHAT." He shakes his head, confused. "WHAT." He says one more time, as if it's a meaningful contribution. Then he shakes his head heavily. "OKAY, no, I'm no SYLPH or MAID of SPACE so I can't fix this. Look, just TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, yeah?" He looks a bit more serious, which is accomplished by wiping the grody chunks off of his face. "Seriously. You feel whatever that was again, you gimmie a call, right? I'll come help get rid of whatever."

Orphen (703) has posed:
"I can heal, and, we can look at your brain, just... one minute..." Orphen holds up a finger, then just falls the rest of the way to the ground, immediately falling asleep.

He apparently used far more high level spells than he intended. And getting poisoned, transmuted, and everything else he went through only piles on -top- of that, even if they were dispelled.

Soan Sagittarius (633) has posed:
     "HEY!"

Soan Sagittarius, comming running from somewhere very much up ahead and not here, the young thief footing it up into a comfortable jogging speed, shouts as he runs along. "WHERE THE HELL HAPPENED!? I WAS WAITING ALL THE WAY OVER THERE WITH the--" Soan begins as he skids to an alt, giving a look around, furrowing at the damage, the remains, the absolutely disgusting gore that is left over from the Malboro chunks. In hindsight, he knew that he smelled something REALLY BAD all the way back there. Good gods, it's worse now.

He looks down at Mirielle-Toad, blinking. He reaches for his phone, flicking it back on.

"Hooookay... what happened here? Is everyone alright?" He asks, turning to Kyra, briefly, before kneeling down to the toad, peering at Mirielle. He squints at her. It looks kind of... pasty, even for a toad. "Is that... you, Mirielle?"

Kyra Hyral (626) has posed:
"I'm going to be doing that right now. Not on this world either." With each passing second, she looks more and more distressed as she realizes just how a fully-formed monster popping out of her head might look to other people. /Especially/ other people that might lean towards fanaticism. All the more reason to leave immediately.

She gives Arthur a helpless look. "You can't? I mean, you say you saw a space rift in there, right? Maybe my brain is in it...? Alright, Arthur, I'll let you know if anything else weird happens."

Orphen collapses and Kyra immediately casts Ensuna on him, suddenly realizing that he's regular sleeping and not status effect sleeping. She turns to the dragon and reaches out to tap his wing, a Cura spell following. "...Bahamut, could you please pick him up so we can leave? I don't want to leave Orphen lying here. He'll probably get mugged. Again."

Soan comes running up and Kyra grabs him by the coat, shaking him. "A monster came out of my head and now my brain is gone. I have /no idea/ what's going on. My magic has never messed up this bad before-I wasn't even using it either." She frets a bit more before letting him go. "We have to leave. We need to get out of here."

Mirielle Edelweiss (666) has posed:
Mirielle, with her Ninja Toad Friend, hop around. Well, the Ninja does, trying to hop protectively around Mirielle.

Soan gets stared at with the most long-suffering look a toad can make at him, full of annoyance and darkness.

"Ribbit." It croaks, looking up at the Thief for his reaction. It sort of nods... Maybe?

Soan Sagittarius (633) has posed:
Soan stares back with wide eyes, blinking a few times. That stare is certainly a tell. Most of all, that /ribbit/ was the most telling of them all. That, or just the fact she was supposed to be here. Instead, there'S a vaguely ressembling-toad in her stead. "Damn. Well, uh," He lends out a palm. "Come along, you two. We've got the stuff for this back ho--"

Kyra may not have a lot of strength, but there's a lot to be said about panic and adrenaline. The white mage shakes hims vigorously, shaking the thief up to almost fall on his side. "Okay, okay, okay, slow down!" Soan lets out, lifting both of his hands up at her. "/I'm/ pretty sure that's not your doing, not even SUMMONS leaves... a splatter like that when they're beat down, EVEN MORE if you weren't using it."

He lays down a hand again for Mirielle and Ninja Friend to get on, if they take it at all, then get back up, looking about. "I do agree, we need to get out."

Arthur Lowell has posed:
"HELL if I KNOW." Arthur says, to Kyra. He seems just completely baffled! Unable to muster any sort of intelligent response. And then he gestures on over to Soan. "YEAH. You gotta GET OUTTA HERE. You want me to whip up a GATE? I'll get you kids ON THE ROAD quick as I can." He snaps, summoning a soft green glow to his hands and preparing to form one of his usual GATES at Kyra's orders. He'll provide teleportation to wherever needs teleporting to!

Mirielle Edelweiss (666) has posed:
Mirielle and Ninja Toad climb up on Soan's hands, Ninja Friend Toad quietly nin-nin'ing its way around as Mirielle just sort of badhops up into Soan's palm and rests there, looking very preturbed. This should wear off soon, she thinks.

Soan, apparently, is just hearing or divining what she's saying, but maybe he'll have a restore for her back at the clubhouse.

    "Rib-ribbit."
