Cast of Characters: 151, Duke, 782

Duke has posed:
The day was beautiful out on this side of Johto. There was a few clouds that dotted the skies and the cute little Mareep were 'eep'ing away as they moved about the open field. The only thing out of place here was an armored knightly figure who sat on the fence post, with his arms resting his thighs.

His armor was very humanoid in design, including even mimicing the ideal of muscular structure, and he had a green crest on his chest with golden trim design, that gold trim was also on other sections of his armor as well.

This was Duke in his Medieval Dukemon form, a Digimon. A Digimon who invited a friend and someone new to come join him on a rather, boring, but still nice day out. After all, a little conversation never hurt.

Golden (782) has posed:
From one of the holes made by a burrowing pokemon, Golden climbs out, shaking off loose dirt and spitting out dirt. Funny things happen when you fall down a hole that collapses behind you. The dirt might be an improvement given Golden's typically shambolic appearance; at least the dings and stuff could be covered in dirt. He glance down at the hole he came out of, then around at the pasture around him. This looks suspiciously like the place Duke described on the radio. Though the knight figure is out of place, so he figures he'd better ask that guy. And so he bounds off towards the armored knight figure.

Ainsley (151) has posed:
Ainsley floats through the air and hovers to a halt somewhere among the Mareep, having swooped in from a higher altitude on her way from the warp gate. She turned to acknowledge Duke with a cheerful wave, her feathers poofing up in a plush and friendly manner and her face shining a big smile. After that, she tried to wrangle one of the Mareep into a hug, cooing at it so that it doesn't freak out and zap her or run away. She's a weird lizard lady so this may not be the wisest idea.
Then again, the Mareep might welcome it after dealing with a knight for however long he's been here doing this.

She just wants to snuggle a thundercloud sheep because it's adorable.

It's while she's doing this that she notes Golden's approach, and watches him with confusion and surprise. His ragged appearance makes her stare, trying to assess what the damage is with plain sight. She also waves at Golden, looking owl-eyed and distracted.

Duke has posed:
Duke raises a hand up as Ainsley floats in and would smile back, but well-- face-plate, but its there in his gold eyes. He hops down from the fence post and goes to make his way over. "You must be Ainsley." He says to her as she goes to huggle a sheep. They don't seem to mind and just make their cut little noises they do.

He extends out his hand to her, "It is a honor to meet you, miss."

Though his gold eyes take notice as Golden comes out of the hole and comes to make he way over. As he does a few of the sheep pokemon move away from him and Duke lets out a few whistle to calm them down. Good thing the farmer went over some of this stuff.

He then looks back to Golden. "Golden." He says to the small round Digimon.

Golden (782) has posed:
Golden peers at the Medival Dukemon suspiciously for a very long moment, as if remembering something.
"Weren't you...?" He gestures vaguely in the direction of the Great Ruins, as far off as they might be.
"Didn't I...?" He gestures with his claw hand.
"Oh man, I'm so sorry, Duke."

Ainsley (151) has posed:
Ainsley hears Duke make a whistling noise and, in a most peculiar and whimsical moment, she whistles as well. She tries to copy the sound, managing to get it just right after only a couple of tries. Then she mingles among the Mareep to pet their ears and carefully pet their static-filled coats of sheep wool. She's content to snuggle these little creatures instead of do much talking. "An honor," she sweetly replies to Duke while she squeezes the cute electric sheep she's got.
The awkward realization gets another set of owlish blinks from Ainsley. "Hmm?"

Duke has posed:
Duke peers over to Golden as he apologizes and shrugs gently. "Don't worry about it. The Royal Knights..." He pauses a for a moment, his golden eyes becoming distant as he talks. "...did... many wrong things and you were upset by seeing one of those DEX Digimon."

The Knight Digimon looks over to Ainsley as she cuddles the sheep and pets them. "There was an attack recently out in the Great Ruins. Some old... enemies of ours have started to make themselves known... Golden there," He motions with a nod of his head to the smaller Digimon. "Went into a blind rage... a state even I can fall into if in the wrong form and events take place."

Duke shrugs his shoulders gently as he crosses his arms over his chest. He looks at Ainsley and studies her for a moment. "If... you don't mind me asking... what are you? I don't think I've seen someone like you before."

Golden (782) has posed:
Golden ohs and introduces himself to Ainsley. "Yeah, people call me Golden. You're... Ainsley? I heard you talking to Duke over the radio. Nice to meet you." He simply listens to Ainsley for awhile.
Eventually the mareep are used to him and start nibbling curiously as sheep and goats are wont to do, causing some staticky discharges into the cyborg digimon. But really they smell something tasty and are focused on the little satchel Golden has.
"Okay okay, yes, I have treats." He finally mutters and fishes some kind of pokemon treat out of the small bag he has. Alexis likely gave them to him to feed the pokemon on the ranch.

Ainsley (151) has posed:
"I'm a Quetzal. Rooted in the name of a Mesoamerican god named Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent. Named as such for our scales and the feathers we grow on our heads and back, as well as our predisposition toward storm and blood magic, which give us a resemblance to that god and his associated cultures. It's a mutation of the human race from an arcane cataclysm some four centuries ago," Ainsley explains, her voice very mellow as she does so.

"I'm just gonna pet these sheep," she announces to Golden and Duke, and stops a Mareep to grab it by the face and ruffle it playfully, making a little 'baaa~' noise at it. "Need to destress, this is perfect."

Duke has posed:
Duke listens as the woman explains where she comes from and her race. He tilts his head gently to the side as he tries to reference these things from what he has read. Though--- some of it comes up short. "I can understand the distressing part." He comments softly.

Duke glances then over to Golden who seems to have several of the Sheep Pokemon looking for treat and chuckles gently. "I think the like you Golden!" He says with an amused sound in his voice. "Maybe you shoulder try the Shepard bit."

His gold eyes then focus on Ainsley before he hrms gently. "So what has been causing you some stress?" He asks as he tilts his head to one side, before getting bumped by a one of the Pokemon, which he knees down to scratch the head of. "Need some help with it?"

Golden (782) has posed:
Golden is way smaller than the mareep and they mob him when he hands out the treats. Uh oh, there aren't any left.
Golden hops up on a fence post to escape the herd of mareep. They might decide to cluster around the fencepost instead, but Golden is /probably/ safe... for now. For who knows what darkness lurks behind those tiny little innocent faces?
"No thanks. Herding doesn't work when the shepherd is smaller than the shep." He says, dusting himself off a bit and glancing over at Ainsley just basking in the fluffiness of the mareep.

Duke has posed:
Ainsley seems very distracted by the Mareep as she is in the main flock of them and Duke can only laugh a bit because of it. His gold eyes then watch as a few of them go chasing after Golden who tries to get away and whistles the sheep back, before clapping his hands together. "Come on now! Away from the fence line."

The 'ma and reep' at him, as they go bounding by and the Knight Digimon ends up leaning on the fence looking down at Golden on the other side. "Maybe we can get a herd of mini Mareep." he says with an amused sound in his voice.

"How you been enjoying your rest with Alexis?" He asks Golden as his attention returns back to the sheep, glancing over the group.

Golden (782) has posed:
"I think I'll just stick to farming." He says with regard to the mini mareep comment.
"I guess. I was out most of it. Helped out with chores after I came to, to repay Alexis for letting me lay around the place. Probably the safest place next to Equestria for Exiles." Golden says, watching the sheep mill about smartly. "Hate to ruin your idyllic moment, but you know we have to get the Exiles unified, right?"

Duke has posed:
Duke glances off to the side, then back to Golden. There was a much more stern look in those eyes. Something far more deeper in them really. "No. The exiles are safer right now scattered." He then leans off the fence. "If the exiles gather, they will be no better then these sheep if a predator came. Easy for the pickings."

He lowers his head slightly. "The more scattered they are for now, the harder it will be for the Royal Knights to locate them. Harder on Gaonoir. Besides," The Knight Digimon looks to Golden. "With out us being able to properly defend them, we can't lay that burden on others. I enjoy Equastria. I know of that peace there, because I was there and thought it be a wonderful place for them as well--- but until we can protect ourselves, how can we protect a people so many."

"Most Exiles don't even know how to fight and those that do, wont stand a chance if Yggdrasil gets serious." Duke shifts his weight as he crosses his arms over his chest. "That is why I am calling a meeting on Wednesday of this coming week. Not only to all of /us/, but to everyone of the Multiverse."

"Maybe... if we had more options as safe haven locations, with the support of the factional organizations, we can honestly create a safe place." He lowers his head and closes his eyes. "I don't even know how long Alexis will be safe... and that greatly concerns me."

He then looks back at Golden. "And while I know the Confederacy opened their doors for it, I do not trust most of their members to not abuse the more naive of our people." He winced a little bit at his tone, there was a glance away, before he fully looked away. "I wont... see anymore get hurt.... because of foolish mistakes. They need to stay scattered. That is that. When the time comes... we will gather all under one roof..."

Golden (782) has posed:
Golden watches the sheep, listening to Duke speak. "I think a predator trying to take on these sheep will be in for quite a shock. Just like somebody trying to pick off a united community of Exiles would be in for a very rude surprise when the ones who remember the end so clearly push back just as hard." The crest on his forehead glitters quietly in the daylight as he says this.
"It's nice to believe that people won't get hurt but I remember the Great Demon War very well. It's war we're talking about, Duke. People die, people get hurt, and nobody gets away without losing something. We should at least teach them to fight for themsleves, show them that bravery is standing up and fighting for what you believe is right. And maybe, if we are really lucky, we can pass the torch on to the next generation of heroes."
Golden watches the mareep herd graze. "Because I don't know about you, but I'm still injured from the last war I fought with Yggdrasil's Chosen. You saw my injuries when I digivolved; they have never healed in all the years we've been in the Multiverse."

Duke has posed:
Duke lowers his head and closes his eyes. "But you don't know what Yggdrasil is capable of doing..." he says softly. "...or what the Royal Knights will do if they..." He sighs and picks up a staff along side, easily twirling it around in his fingers.

"You gather them up right now, you are only asking for trouble. The idea is sound, but Omegamon can make quick work of a group of Adult Digimon in a single blast. There isn't enough Ultimates...and what few there are, are all broken heroes." Duke glances over to Golden. "Learn patience... time will come, but patience is needed right now more then ever."

He then looks away. "...but I also can't stop you either... because I am no one's leader. Not even my own." He then walks away looking to herd a few sheep in that is starting to stray to far out from the main group. Perhaps... missing the irony in his own statement, including the irony of what he is doing right now.

Golden (782) has posed:
Golden shrugs. "True enough. I've heard people say there's a line between bravery and stupidity. Can't say I know where it is, but I've probably danced over it a lot."
He peers suspiciously at a Dugtrio that pops up near the fence post. Was that what made that tunnel... "Are there a lot of holes in this part of the Multiverse? Like the kind people can fall in and get lost?" He asks Duke.
