Synopsis: While on a morning run, Tomoyo bumps into Mamimi again. Optimism and pessimism clash once more!
Cast of Characters: Tomoyo Daidouji, 830

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
It's terribly early in the morning in Tomoeda, the humid air having cooled significantly due to the lack of sun. The waning moon sits on the horizon, nearly set entirely as the sky starts to gain a pink tinge, forewarning of the rising sun.

A lot of people aren't around at this time of day. Newspapers are being delivered, some people are heading to their early jobs (or coming home from their late jobs) but that's about it.

However, someone is jogging through the streets, clad in a lavender hoodie with matching thermal pants and running shoes. It's Tomoyo, and she's maintaining a steady pace as she goes past suburban homes, a stopwatch firmly held in her left hand.

Mamimi Samejima (830) has posed:
There's a sight that you don't see everyday.
Generally because police tend to keep the people away.
A rock flies in the air, sometimes landing for a moment.

Flying rocks aside, the sight you don't generally see, especially in Tomoeda, is a woman laying on the edge of the streets, simply staring upwards due to lack of sun. The woman is actually a girl - and that girl is actually Mamimi. Not many people are there, but Mamimi isn't bothered by the lack of people. Anything but, really, dealing the the humidity by laying on her back, legs wrapped around shadow covered concrete, as if to suck the cold from the earth, as she groans. The humidity is the worst.

If only she had a fan, or something.

"Takkun... can't you use those wings to cool me off?" She asks, without even looking at it. It ignores her - the demon brick floating aimlessly as an animated brick only can.

It's only with the sight of Tomoyo that Mamimi leans forwards, peering forwards as she seems to recognize her. "...Tomo-sama?" She asks out loud, but without any real inflection. Why is she jogging? ... What's the point?

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
Tomoyo spots the flying brick before she notices Mamimi. Well, can you blame her? It's super-unusual! After coming to a stop, she stares at it, fishing a cellphone from her pocket to get a photo! She briefly wonders if this is something to do with the last free Clow Card... but The Wave shouldn't be able to make rocks fly. So...

Her gaze drifts down, just as Mamimi calls out her nickname. "Oh! Hi Mamimi~" Her breath is a little short, but her voice is still as melodious as ever, a strong contrast to Mamimi's deadpan. Walking over to the other girl, she flops onto the ground next to her, taking fast, deep breaths.

"It's good to see you again~ But what are you doing up so early?" She looks at Mamimi, the concern in her eyes visible thanks to a nearby streetlight.

Mamimi Samejima (830) has posed:
The flying brick is really easy to see.
He's the Lord of Time!
Just... a chip off the old block. Quite literately.

Laying on the ground, legs wrapped around something isn't super normal though, either, even if she is bent more upwards now to lean towards Tomoyo. Though the flying demon brick is anything but normal, it's still harmless beyond being a flying rock. Not that it can fly high enough to make itself dangerous, either. Tomoyo, over-achiever as she seems to be, gets a very blase look from Mamimi. Even if she was just doing it for herself.

With Tomoyo plopping down onto the ground besides her, Mamimi only sort of makes herself less lazy, one leg uncoiling from the cement to twist upwards, knee into the air. Looking from rock to Tomoyo, Mamimi shrugs, "Going to school I guess." It's a question she actually answered - but not with a good answer, obviously. "What about you? Someone chasing you? It's dangerous this early, you know. You don't know who's out there." She claims, despite laying out as she does.

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
Tomoyo looks at the flying brick, smiling softly. It's actually kinda cute! Although, Mamimi has all her attention right now. Trying to tell if the girl looks even rougher than she did the last time they met. Her hand comes up to the zipper of her hoodie and tugs it down, exposing the white singlet top she's wearing underneath.

"Oh! Well, you must have quite the commute then~" Tomoyo doesn't really believe her, of course. But if Mamimi doesn't want to open up, she can't really force her. "Hm? Oh, of course not~ Just doing my morning workout!" She giggles, shaking her head. "Aw, you're sweet to be concerned. But I can take care of myself! And my bodyguards are never too far away."

Abruptly, she stands up and goes to a nearby vending machine, soon returning with drinks! She hands Mamimi the same sour soda from last time, but she just has a bottle of carbonated water today. "So, what have you been up to lately? Any good pictures~?"

Mamimi Samejima (830) has posed:
It was a 'gift'. A gift from a Demon Wall.
Rather, the rubble of the Demon Wall.
She probably wasn't supposed to take it, but it came to her.

Mamimi looks so-so, not having visibly lost any weight, she simply seems to have existed. More than expected if you compare it to her current beliefs. "Sometimes it's more than I can take." She answers, though doesn't make note the fact it is generaly always more than she could take. Infact, she went the opposite direction to school. She'll never get there at this rate.

"In the morning? That's too early to be running around, Tomo-sama. You'll look crazy." She claims, but doesn't seem to really mean it. Sitting up, Mamimi blinks, "You have bodyguards?" The girl asks, "Are you important? A celebrity? I wonder what you're famous for..." Mamimi trails off, gazing to the street-lights again as she grasps the brick and hugs it. "What do you think, Takkun?" She asks the brick, holding it up.

"Ah... Takkun doesn't know." The rock doesn't answer, obviously. Taking the soda, Mamimi pops the cap and drinks it somewhat greedily. The humid air and no real way to cool down - it's a bad combination. "I found Takkun." She notes, "I saw the Lord of Time... I met El again and she gave me a dress." She thinks out loud. "A few pictures, not many." She states. Oh. There was a dream. "i think I was in a grave too, but then I woke up."

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
Tomoyo seems relieved that Mamimi doesn't look any worse! She nods, as if she understands Mamimi's issues with school. She doesn't though, not really. Thanks to excellent home tutoring, she's never really struggled with school. Besides, school is where she gets to see Sakura the most often!... when she shows up.

"Well, I can't do it during the day, I have school, or work! Can't do it in the evening because that's even more dangerous. So it has to be in the morning~" She nods, as if this made absolute sense. "Hm? Oh... well, I guess I'm getting a little famous! You know, 15-year-old store owner and all~ But I've had my bodyguards for longer. My mom runs a big company, so they look out for me when she can't be around."

She can't help but smile fondly as Mamimi hugs the brick. At the very least, she has a friend now! "Oh wow, the Lord of Time? What was he like?" She seems genuinely curious, being the one that leans towards Mamimi for once! "A dress?! I would love to see that sometime!" The streetlight is now only rivalled by the brightness of Tomoyo's eyes at the mention of fashion. But then they dim. "Oh goodness... that sounds like a terrible nightmare..."

Mamimi Samejima (830) has posed:
Tomoyo likely wouldn't understand.
If you set your school on fire at four, five years old...
But now, it's a whole different issue that keeps her away.

"Well, I'd do it in the day if I was going to run or jog." Mamimi notes, making it about her, though it most certainly isn't. As Tomoyo goes on about how famous she is, Mamimi kind of drifts away - not really listening. "Yeah, yeah... I get what you're saying." She answers, though seems to be more interested in the rock before her, until Tomoyo notes - 'big company'. Which means money. So, she really could milk her for free stuff.

"He crumbled." Mamimi remarks, "I guess he was bad, but I was hoping he was going to turn back time, or move everything forwards. I think he was just misunderstood." no, the Demon Wall is probably not misunderstood. This is just Mamimi talking. "I could, but I haven't really tried it on. It's not really comfortable, I bet." She offhandedly states, making ecuses, before Tomoyo's eyes dim, Mamimi almost throwing herself against Tomoyo, streeetching out. "Yeah, but Takkun has been kind of flakey... I feel like I'm going to overflow, sometimes." She babbles, no real meaning behind it.

"Y'know? I bet it caused the nightmare too."

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
Tomoyo smiles, sipping her fizzy water. She doesn't mind that Mamimi makes it about herself really. It's just preference on when one would get some cardio in, nothing to get into an argument over. When Mamimi seems so disinterested when Tomoyo mentions that she comes from money, a worried look appears on her face.

"Ah! But I'm not some snobby heir, I promise!" she says quickly, trying to clear up the imagined misunderstanding. But thankfully, it seems Mamimi is still willing to chat. "Aww... well, maybe if you raise Takkun here properly, he'll become a new Lord of Time!" The mention of how uncomfortable the dress might be doesn't deter her either. "Well, you could always bring it to me if it is! I can do my best to make it easier to wear~"

She goes a little red again as Mamimi kind of latches on to her. But as she babbles about how she feels, Tomoyo nods sympathetically and puts an arm around her to pat Mamimi on the shoulder. "If there's anything I can do to help..."

Mamimi Samejima (830) has posed:
Leaning against Tomoyo still, Mamimi closes her eyes, silent for a moment.
"You're not? Huh. Well, that's ok."
It doesn't seem to even impact her - Mamimi still thinks Tomoyo is a pushover.

"I think I just want a tail and some little wings that match Takkun's." Mamimi remarks, still comfortable as she doesn't seem to let up, move away, or even relent. There are few things that truly bother Mamimi that aren't directly sharp and against her. "I will, 'Cause Takkun needs me." She claims, eyes still closed as Tomoyo puts an arm around her. "Nah, you can't help me." Mamimi answers as if it was just a simple question of if she wanted a sample, or something inconsequential. Still, she presses forwards.

Aiming to knock Tomoyo down, and over.

"The kind of people you meet at this hour can be pretty bad, too." Mamimi adds, as she falls forwards onto her. "So you need a mark, something that'll keep them away. I know one." She claims, mouth growing closer to Tomoyo's neck.

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
"I swear I'm not! I don't really get along with other heirs because they're just so..." Tomoyo can't put it into words, but that's the honest truth. Not just Kaiba either, the heirs she sometimes had to associate with growing up still brought a sour taste to her mouth.

"Aww... wings and a tail would look cute on you~ I could add some to that dress of yours if you like!" She smiles, looking from the girl to the brick. Mamimi might be a bit of a flake, but at least she makes for a good pet owner. No one who goes out of their way to look after another creature can be all bad, she decides.

"Oh... I'm sorry," she says, sounding terribly disheartened at the casual dismissal of her help. She's so down that she doesn't offer any resistance as she is pushed to the ground! Her head bumps against the pavement, rattling her thoughts a little. "Ow!"

This situation is so sudden and confusing that she doesn't know what to think. She just blinks owlishly, trying to get her bearings as she lays there.

Mamimi Samejima (830) has posed:
"Unbearable?" Mamimi asks, attempting to fill in the blanks.
Mamimidoesn't even deal with heirs, though.
"Cruel." She decides, based on her own interaction with her fellow students.

"Yeah, they'd look great." Mamimi agrees, not even thanking Tomoyo. It just happens to be how it is. "I bet Takkun would be happier, too." Somehow it's still about Takkun. A bit is unlikely. It is more or less just how it goes with Mamimi - she might be a full on flake, for all Tomoyo may known.

Still, it's so ... easy, Mamimi marvels, at getting Tomoyo down. To ply her. "Tomo-sama, I don't really need help." She admits, mouth near Tomoyo's ear. "Help's just a one time thing." She continues, before Tomoyo can get her bearings.

Then may come the brief pluck of pain as Tomoy's neck gains a little mark, due to Mamimi's teeth, before she mostly recoils, giggling ever so slightly. "There. Now they'll know not to mess with you. You'd got a mark on you." She teases. "It won't help against the pavement though... isn't that right, Takkun?" The little brick hops once.

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
In a slightly woozy tone of voice, Tomoyo mutters, "No it isn't... if I can help again and again, I wou-" That little pinch though, that wakes her up instantly, face going bright red, pupils dilating from surprise.

When Mamimi gets off of her, Tomoyo sits up wordlessly, a thousand-yard stare on her face. Wordlessly, she fishes a pen from her pocket and grabs Mamimi by the wrist, scribbling a phone number onto her palm. "If you ever change your mind..." she mutters.

"A-Anyway, I should go. Good luck with school..." Without another glance, she gets back to her feet and starts running, back in the direction she came. She didn't even pick up her bottle of water!

As she runs, a hand comes up to touch the red mark on her neck. For some reason, her eyes start watering a little.

Mamimi Samejima (830) has posed:
Helping again and again.
That's not what Mamimi is looking for.
She wants someone stuck to her, for better or worse - used, but unable to escape.

Like a moon, or something. With a phone number written onto her palm, Mamimi blinks a bit. "I have a phone, you could just text me." However she doesn't resist, letting Tomoyo write as she does, before Tomoyo scurries off - and leaves water. Water that Mamimi stores for later, tossing into her pack, likely. Or just gives to Takkun for a bath.

One or the other.

"Oh, going to school, huh? Okay, but one day you should hang with me more, instead." Mamimi notes, a bit of a smile. Just a tiny one. Not because of Tomoyo's actions, of course - rather due to her own actions, as Tomoyo takes off. With a sigh, she lays back, a cigarette slipping into her mouth as she stares at the sky. With a flick of a finger, Mamimi stares at the flame that flickers before her - then rests on the end of the cigarette. "You won't just run off like that, would you Takkun?"

The Demon Brick, for once, rests against Mamimi.
