Tinyplot: The Man and the Mission

Sumia (544) has posed:
Remote Village, Halidom of Ylisse. Late afternoon.

A bustling little village, known for the food it helps produce for the Halidom, is going on its day. The farming season is coming to a close and men, women and children are all out working with harvesting the food for the winter months ahead. It's not a big village, but the farm land behind it is quite large, boasting many different types of vegetable, fruit and grain plots integral to the sustainability for the village and to help the Halidom.

Everything seems to be calm right now in the village, but the village matches the coordinates given by Zephyr. While most of the workers are out in the field, Sumia lands nearby on her Pegasus, armored up and with lance at the ready, eyes scanning the horizon for ... something and awaiting the rest of the response team.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr arrives not long after Sumia, appearing on a rotating spell circle that vanishes after she and a short, mousey looking man appear atop it. Zephyr is in her Barrier Jacket, with her battleaxe held across a shoulder. The man is wearing what looks like standard TSAB Uniform, and holding a tuning fork-like spear device, as he works from a holographic screen hovering in the air before him.

There doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary, it's all eerily calm, too calm and quiet. Something's wrong here. Very, very wrong.

Corona Arclite has posed:
It's not long after getting the coordinates and people start arriving that Corona does as well, cruising up on some kind of clockpunk driven scooter. Because her usual bike is still in the process of being refitted from the convoy incident a while back. Hopefully this won't turn into a road fight of some sort, because the scooter isn't nearly as fast. She parks it off to one side, disengages the drive cogs and spring (so it can't be started up), and tucks the key into a pouch as she hops off and wanders over to the others.

Almost immeadiately the foxgirl is on edge, tail giving a few erratic flicks as her ears twitch to the sides and back. "It's quiet. -Too- quiet. Ah don't trust it none."

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
Bertram arrives by means of horse, getting close to the site before tying the animal to a nearby tree and walking the remainder of the distance. He's brought what looks like a big wooden lunchbox with him. Magical senses would easily be able to tell that both Bertram and the contents of the box are quite magical. "I brought some food, should help us fight better." He unfolds the lunchbox into a portable table, filled with all kinds of tasty looking dishes. "It won't be a big difference, but every little edge counts."

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa had also picked up the call and had been arriving along side Corona on very sleek looking motorcycle of some sort. She takes a moment and moves to bring it to a halt, before she pauses looking about and seems concerned as she pulls off her helmet.

"I was afraid you'd say that."

Valentha Summers (834) has posed:
As soon as Valentha gets a good idea about the locale she grins a little. This is the kind of lifestyle she's USED to seeing, she grew up seeing. At least, human lifestyles...

She's not living it at all, flying around in the sky on a Hovercycle! Down she goes, landing near Zephyr and the others and adjusting her outfit stylishly after hopping off! "So here we are. One more wayward artifact, hm?"

Cirra Constantine (675) has posed:
Also appearing on the teleportal is cirra Cosntantine, Judge of Ramuh. She doesn't have a way of getting around that wouldn't put the locals on alert so she hitched a ride. The Judge looks to the village in the distance. "What is this artifact's profile?" she asks of the tSAB agents.

Sumia (544) has posed:
Sumia frowns a bit at this. Zephyr's information brought them here but... nothing seems to be there. Just the village.. the people...nothing else seems to be there. Sumia shakes her head and sighs. "I don't like the look of this, Zephyr. If its here, then where is it?" she questions, looking towards the TSAB Mage with an inquisitive gaze. "I don't want to put the locals on edge, after all, there are some watching this little band of people here."

With a swift kick, Sumia takes towards the sky, "I'm going to look in the air for a moment. I'll see if I can't find anything from my position." And, as the pegasus takes flight, a few black figures appear around the horizon... then dissapear. "Hmm? Must be my eyes playing tricks on me."

It's a good ten or so minutes, enough time to partake in the food that was brought, before the loud screams of fright erupt from the village and soon, the smell of fire and rise of smoke appear from some of the farther branches of the village and... one word is given out clear as day...

    "RISEN!"

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr shrugs at Cirra. "We don't know, that's the problem, this isn't something we can determine from the signal... not this time anyway. It's not in the database." she takes some food, as does Royce, then the screams set her on edge. "What the--"

Zephyr leaps into the air, Royce stays on the ground, and links to the Infinity library, digging through the datastores. Without knowing what this thing can do, there's no way of fighting it, after all. Knowledge is power.

The Artifact appears to be a small compass-lke device, the ones you'd find on an old sailing ship, but in 3 dimensions. It glows with an ominous orange light from within the core between the rotating metal rings surrounding it, and appears to float above the hand of what is probably the leader of this group of Risen.

Cirra Constantine (675) has posed:
Cirra partakes off the offered food. After all, on Galandia 'Chef' is a legit Job Class that provides stat buffs. She lifts up her helmet and eats the onigiri carefully until she spots the black dots on the horizon. "Hmn." She lowers her helmet again just before the screams start. "That seems to be it." The Judge turns and runs down the hill towards the village, summoning her Judge blade to her hand as she goes.

Corona Arclite has posed:
Not one to turn down free food, especially free beneificial food, Corona helps herself to a bit of the offered grub. "Much ablidged, pard. Ev'ry bet helps."

Not that they get long to munch before the screaming start. Figures. Somewhat haphazardly she shoves the rest of the food in her mouth and hurries after the screams coming from farther in the village. Knew it was too quiet to be good for long.

Okay, so we have a big horde of undead, and a glowy compass thing hovering over one of them. "Tch. And I thought the undead outlaws were a pain in t'butt," she mutters, even as she's reaching back to pull out her shotgun and cock it, the main chamber lighting up with a bit of glow as the pulsarium core starts producing energy. "Think we're gonna have to clear a path through 'em to get yer cursed doodad, Zeph."

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa is moing ahead with Corona but seems to be very concerned about the looks of things here. She doesn't like the feel. Still she's able to get a bite to eat and darn if it isn't good. Well just as she's getting into the best part? Thats when the scream starts. Risen? That sounds like a name of the undead she looks to Corona, she also takes note of Cirra as well.

She's already going for a weapon at this point.

"Well then let's get to work and hopefully we can keep these things off the townsfolk."

Valentha Summers (834) has posed:
Hearing someone scream RISEN gets Valentha running over to the edge of town where the creatures approach. It's her first time in a LONG time that she's seen the undead, and the first time in FOREVER that they've been marching as a unit... in any kind of numbers.

Even for a Dragon, that's enough to get some flinching. "Bad. Bad! NOPE NOPENOPENOPE. We're not playing that game!"

Hurriedly the tinkerer yanks out what looks like an electric lantern, except the bulb's been replaced with an assortment of crystals, lenses, and mirrors...

"Didn't think I'd have a chance to field test this... PLEASE WORK!"

She flicks a switch, focuses... and hoists the lantern up high!

Light STREAMS from the contraption. Shining daylight, as if a flare had been let loose. It's ALMOST real daylight, enough so that while vampires mightn ot burn in it? They'll be HEAVILY repulsed. Some undead don't like daylight!

But the light carries a further enchantment. The power to TURN UNDEAD radiates from that lantern and it's a mighty pulse indeed.

Valentha simply holds it up, waiting for a bit to see if it has any affect.

Because her other hand's migrated to her revolver, in case it doesn't...

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
As the screaming starts, Bertram's magic becomes more overt. He waves his staff and protective aether flows forth around those Bertram has designated as allies, each and every last of them receiving the option to gain a magical energy field around them that reduces the energy of all incoming attacks, whether sci fi laser, sword or foul magics. It won't stop them, but it'll help. He stays near the back, carefully looking around to see who are taking point or otherwise in need of additional support.

Sumia (544) has posed:
The protective magics from Bertram's protect spell wash over the Pegasus Knight with a gentle glow, Sumia's pegasus glowing slightly with said magics as well. "I'm going to stay in the air and divert attention!" she shouts down to the group below, a javelin coming from her Pegasus' side and sticking straight into an armored Risen... who groans and rushes forth, making a leap towards one of the villagers who scrambles out of the way in the knick of time.

The Risen that are present are a ragtag group of beings, some wielding axes, lances, swords, some look like they even have bows with them and tomes. Fortunately, none of the ones available seem to be carrying a staff. The one with the compass, however, is heavily armored to the point of not being able to see his face.

As the rest of the group seems to be getting ready, Valentha's 'Lantern Field' seems to have a bit of an effect, repelling the Risen back a bit only for them to start charging forth! Most aren't within melee range just yet but the few that have bows take a few potshots at Valentha and Bertram while the few with tomes start casting black bolts at Zephyr, Kotone and Corona and while two of them wielding axes charge Cirra, making leaping attacks to try to cleave the Judge in two.

Corona Arclite has posed:
Corona gets down on one knee, using the other leg's position to brace her arm on and give herself additional stability with her shotgun. She takes aim, but is holding fire at first even as the Risen start to charge. Those who know how shotguns work would know why, they're at their best effectiveness at mid to close range. She's worked with enough magic users by now to reconize the flicker of protective spells, and if it wasn't for her hands being full she would probably give an appreciated gesture. Valentha's Lantern of Turning gets a brief curious glance, from one tinkerer to another, but there's not really time to comment right now.

Especially when black magic starts pelting the protective spell. It doesn't stop the spells entirely, but what gets through is much less volatile thanks to Bertram, and makes it easier to keep her position braced until the first wave of enemies comes within range.

That's when she lets out a whoop, and at the same time lets loose with the fire. The Forge Sweeper thunders with shots, sending scatterblasts hurtling towards the inbound Risen. Though the important note is that rather than solid shot this shotgun fires pellets of highly energetic plasma thanks to its use of an energy crystal generator instead of shells.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr grunts, and banks around those black bolts of magic, slicing through one with her axe blade glowing purple. "Push through to the Artifact. That is priority one!" she calls out, diving down and getting into melee range with the tome using Risen, trying to take away their advantage. She's a bit tankier than most Mages, after all.

Royce blinks, zooming in from range on the glowing artifact. He crossreferences the image, and gets a hit. "Gyroscope of Time? Hmm... oh no, this is bad. Everyone, listen up! Just got a hit from the Library. This thing is called the Gyroscope of Time, it's a stealth and teleportation device... the user can teleport themselves and anyone or anything within a 100m radius around them, to anywhere within line of sight."

And, just at that point, the Risen Chief lifts his hand... and with a pulse of magic, he and his entire chardre are gone... on the OTHER SIDE of the village, where the villagers are fleeing to.

Yuna Kagurazaka (385) has posed:
It was a fairly productive day for Yuna - back on the proverbial horse as an idol, with a couple of live appearances (more publicity than singing) and a lot of rehearsing. Her route home just happens to take her within range of the village in Ylisse where all the excitement is currently happening, and Elner recalls that Zephyr was looking into things here ...

So the Savior of Light is arriving late, but she *is* arriving. And with Elner picking up on the situation on the ground, rather than land the Mike-maru-go, Yuna just lets the robo-faerie take control of her cruiser, transforms, and has Elner teleport her and Erina down to the village.

Why Erina? Put simply, because Yuna expects flight to be an asset, and she doesn't think she'll need Powered Form's raw offensive or defensive strength. So, almost as soon as they materialize, Erina combines with Yuna's battlesuit, and the blonde idol takes to the air, taking the situation in further with her own eyes. She's just in time to see the Risen teleport en masse, too.

Undead. *Why* did it have to be undead ...

The Matrix Divider appears in Yuna's arms, and she flies towards the pack of Risen, starting to snipe at them from the relative safety of the air.

Cirra Constantine (675) has posed:
The axe weilding Risen come down at Cirra. She looks up and snap judges their arc. The Judge steps to the side as she raises her Judge Blade, stepping out from one axe swing to block another. Her leg comes up at the stomach of the risen she has in a lock to double him over. Stepping back quickly, Cirra then rolls over the Risen's back and brings her blade down at the second's back. "We need supression fire to keep more of them from entering the village!"

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa is looking to see Corona's actions she sees why she's doing but Kotone's not got that problem herself. She's already pulled out a SMG and is now ling up a shot she's moving to gun the undead down where she can. They still have mass, right? Bullets should do a thing but it's clear she's had to deal with creatures like this before. She's unhappy she's a bit scared but she's clearly faced them before.

Valentha Summers (834) has posed:
Oops. They're not going anywhere. Valentha lowers the lantern with a sheepish look. It's all she can do to keep up the look of confidence as the civilians start coming under attack. She's not a very good shot with the revolver, so she doesn't bother using it that way. "HIIIIYAAAAH!"

Instead she BLITZES for the nearest endangered villager and HYPER-KICKS the Risen with every bit of strength she can muster.

That's a LOT. It'll probably explode or be torn in two. Or possibly comically launched skyward!

THEN she starts shooting the still distant ones. Why she chose to not shoot anywhere near civilians is immediately evident, as the landscape starts getting torn up with BIG plumes of grass and dirt from her occasional misses. She's not TERRIBLy accurate with that revolver at long range, but she has seemingly INFINITE AMMO, and each telekeinetic bolt it fires (without any noise, oddly enough) hits like a tank shell...

Yeah it's not good to be a villager anywhere near that thing's firing line.

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
Bertram takes an arrow to his leg, not anywhere near the knee joint fortunately, and pulls it out before he starts weaving more magic. He stays at a comfortable distance, not a frontliner thank you, and starts calling upon the earth to strike the Risen, only for them to be elsewhere when his spell is finished, rendering it ineffective. Frustrated, he settles on casting regenerative spells across the party, and giving Yuna a dose of Protect.

Sumia (544) has posed:
As attacks start flying, Sumia's keeping track of movements in the air, picking off targets one by one with throws of many different javelins upon pegasusback, some striking the targets she aims for... However, for the ones who get cleaved by the Judge's Blade from Cirra, the blast from Corona with accominent bullets from Kotone, the HYPER KICK from Valentha and the protective and regenerative spells from Bertram, it sends quite a few of the Risen packing... until the Chief does his thing..

With them blinking out of existance from the party's current location, they blip back in to another part, closer towards the center of the village and more screams erupt from it... "T... they just appeared in the center of the village everyone! Hurry!" she shouts out, diving into the village center proper to pick up a couple civilians to take them out of Risen-sight.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr grunts a bit. "Damn it... Dee? Drive Ignition" A resonant chime emits from the Device as it changes form, and two floating Bits spall off from it. <Drive Ignition, Mistral Squall Dispersal Mode.> intones the Device. Zephyr then turns, scooping up Corona and carrying her over to the new engagement zone, the ground blurring at the high speed of the mage.

Royce hmms, going over the incoming data. "Looks like it has to recharge between uses... and if used rapidly, begins to grow unstable and takes longer to recharge... double edged sword, if it becomes too unstable it could cause a D-Quake." he relays this to the others, but doesn't join the battle himself. He's a support mage, but the others have Bertram providing sufficient protective and augmenting magic, his spells would be wasted.

The Lost Logia seems to dim after the jump, the rotating arms slowing down and the glow fading to a gloam or a faint glimmer from the central core. Looks like it does need to recharge! Now's the chance!

Cirra Constantine (675) has posed:
Cirra pauses as the Risen disappear, then turns as Sumia points out their new location. "Teleportation? This is going to be difficult." THe Judge sests her feet and black curls of smoke rise out of her armor just as she sprints off to the next fight. Her crystal blade changes, splitting down the middle to become a rifle that fires crystal shards into Risen as she goes.

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
Bertram fortunately doesn't rely on his physical endurance to fight, so he starts running right for where the risen went, and though he can't cast much magic on the move. The winds are agile, and easily manipulated on the move, and so even as he closes in he calls upon the aid of the air, driving it to erode the risen like a hundred years worth of storm and wind.

Corona Arclite has posed:
Corona lets out a string of cursing as the horde just teleports farther into the village instead of comin' right to them. "Tinders and Tinhorns! Fliers get in there, it'll take us'all a moment to catch up!", the fox woman growls as she shoves her shotgun back into it's sling on the back of her belt... And Zephyr grabs her by the time she's about to run off. Good thing, she can jump good with her steam-jet boots but she's not as fast as flying. "Thanks for the lift pardner... There!" She points at a rooftop that's not on fire. "Drop me down there." Once Zephyr lets her got and some parkouring across the rooftops, some of them still on fire and needing to be avoided, Corona does get closer to the center of the village where the horde reappeared. This time she's not going to give them a chance to run off like that.

She pulls out her breaker and as she sprints along the last rooftop squeezes the activator lever on the handle, causing the weapon to extend out to it's full sledehammer length. Corona heaves it over her head and leaps off the edge, using the additional momentum to amplify her swing as she comes down towards the horde as close to the lead man and the Logia as she can.

The Corona Breaker lives up to it's name as the glowing head slams into the ground before she actually hits dirt herself, sending an energized shockwave radiating out from the impact point.

Hopefully the knockback from the blast will break up the ranks, giving others a chance to get closer to the mad man and the contraption before he can teleport away again.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa is trying to keep the undead under control and it's proving to be quite the feat. There's quite a few od them and now some people are breaking out the heavier spells.

"Get moving we cna move it faster than you expect."

Kotone is off after Corona and keeping pace though some of the roofs are going to be pretty damaged from her passing. Given they were not made to take 300 pounds of cyborg lass pulling parkour tricks on them. She does however get ingo a good speed now and leap safter Corona and as she hits the apex of her jump several alien grenades would be thrown into the more distant packs of undead.

She did howeve check to make sure there was no risk of friendly fire to others fighting or local towns folks. Which means she might not be taking out the undead as optmically as she could.

Yuna Kagurazaka (385) has posed:
And suddenly the undead are gone again. Yuna takes about two seconds to blink at the sudden lack of opposition where she was shooting just before ... and then she swings around and heads towards the center of the village, stifling a desire to grumble. She would ask Elner for help of some kind, but the robo-faerie is still piloting her cruiser.

As it is, there are enough Unionites present to keep tabs on where the Risen *are* at any given time, Yuna's flight armor gives her a relatively reliable bird's-eye view of the village if she flies high enough, and there are only so many of those ghoulish things roaming around. It's just a matter of --

"OH NO YOU *DON'T*!!!!" Yuna shouts abruptly, levelling the Matrix Divider and firing a swiftly-focused but no less potent blast, trying to blow a Risen *completely away* before it can bring its claws down at a little girl who was lagging behind her parents.

-- a matter of stopping the Risen before they can kill any villagers, to finish that thought.

Sumia (544) has posed:
"What's a D-quake?!" Sumia shouts towards Zephyr from her perch in the sky, diving back in to get a few more villagers to saftey. Meanwhile, the Risen continue to terrorize the village, even though the ranks are thinning in numbers thanks to everyone's efforts. The Sledgehammer's blast from Corona renders a few Risen in dismembered states and against the wall while Bertram's aero spells rip into the few Risen it's targeted, cutting them deeply and felling a couple. Cirra's crystal shards penetrate a few Risen and they fall over with a loud thunk, black smoke released from them. Kotone's grenades make a good explosion, ripping a few more of the Risen to shred and ignited, though one building catches on fire as the Risen crashes into it. The little girl that has the axe over her head suddenly doesn't have one as the blast knocks the axe wielding risen away and into the rock well.

"Zephyr, can you take out the chief there? If you do they should disperse!"

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
"Can't explain it, short answer: Really Bad." replies the Mage. She then comes to a stop in mid air. "I can't target that guy alone... too much collateral damage potential... I'll clear a path, someone else get ready!" she calls. <GEAR SECOND. MISTRAL STORM, DISPERSAL MODE! JETSTREAM IMPULSE STORM SHIFT!> chimes Divine Wind, as a third Bit spalls off the axe, and all three rotate into a triangle formation in front of the mage. The Bits gather magic, and the Device itself gathers into the crystal, while multiple small motes of light form around the floating mage. <MULTILOCKON ESTABLISHED. TRANSMITTING CLEARANCE DATA.> to the others, a set of coordinates are dispersed, they show a path to be cleared out of Risen, leaving it clear and open for someone to get through to the Chief. "I can't do this again for about five minutes. Make it count! FIRE!"

The motes of light the Bits, and the Device, all begin spewing out seeking lasers, very similar to a missile swarm from a Veritech fighter. Staren would probably be impressed!

Royce lifts off and floats over to a nearby non-burning building, watching the scene unfold. He focusses magic, and casts his own 'Protect' spell. Every Elite on the field would get their own gold-hued protective bubble. It doesn't outright /stop/ damage, but buffers against incoming strikes.

Better make whatever play you're going to do quickly. The arms of the Logia are starting to move again, and that glow is growing in intensity once more.

Valentha Summers (834) has posed:
Thankfully, Valentha's ONTO what's happening the moment the Lost Logia flickers and powers up. In a moment frozen in time her gaze sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiides across the 'path' taken by the teleporting Risen.

And once they reappear in the midst of town... her own body flickers blue! In a few seconds she just blips out, reappearing all the way back into town just a few feet away from the NOW CONVENIENTLY GROUPED RISEN.

"You almost caught me by surprise with that one! Interesting gadget!" She happily banters at the Risen... only to whip up a HAIR DRYER. ... With a snipped cord.

Well, it LOOKS like a hair dryer. And she's holding it more like one might a gun. What?

The answer to that question comes the moment she flicks it on. Instead of a refreshing and evaporating stream of hot air, it shoots a BLIZZARD RAY! Or something very much like it. Snow and ice and freezing winds fly from it by the bucket, leaving the ground caked with snow and ice.

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
Bertram rushes in when adviced to do so, recklessly (and perhaps stupidly) disregardint the existence of an abundance of enemies that could skewer him from up close at a moment's notice. Then, he raises his staff skywards as close as he can get to the chief, ideally in close combat range and sends a ball of light flying upwards, which then explodes in a bright, searing, blinding light. Unless you're Bertram's ally, in which case it's more soothing.

Corona Arclite has posed:
Okay, Zephyr's clearing out the masses. They're going to have a small window of oppritunity, got to make the best of it. That thing is probably already winding back up! So to speak.

Corona yanks her sledge's head back out of the ground, briefly swinging it back. Probably originally intended to smack more Risen before Zephyr started spewing magic lasers and Bertram belting out holy magic in general. "Sorry bloke." Valentha starts blasting out snow and ice. The vixen puts her quick feet to work, darting through the chaos of attacks to get closer to the Chief Risen. In doing so she flips her weapon around in her hands before she swings, so it's the hooked pickax-like backend of the head she swings at the leader of the undead before he can fire up the Logia again. Hopefully.

"Time for y'all to GET THE POINT!"

Yuna Kagurazaka (385) has posed:
"Thank you!" Yuna calls out as the protective spell surrounds her and as the coordinate data is transferred - technically to Elner, who parses and 'explains' it for Yuna. Just because the robo-faerie isn't on-site doesn't mean Elner can't do anything to help.

Yuna lets the Matrix Divider vanish briefly from her hands, switching to the pulse blasters hidden under her vambraces, and does a fast strafing run over the Risen, taking a vector that her allies seem to be leaving open for the moment. While the individual shots from her pulse blasters don't pack THAT much of a punch, the pulse blasters are unique among her weapons in their capacity for rapid fire; combine that with the multiple emitters, and she can basically go bullet-hell on the Risen and at *least* soften them up some for a more focused assault to finish off.

After that strafing run, she switches back to the Matrix Divider - and she's prepared to deliver some of those more focused assaults herself, if necessary.

Cirra Constantine (675) has posed:
Cirra skids to a halt as Risen start falling, theres talk of a D-Quake. Whatever that is, it's not good. Cirra looks towards the chiuef of the Risen and leaps at him. The rifle forms back itno a sword and Cirra brings it up overhead, swinging it down at the undead monster with the lsot logia.

Sumia (544) has posed:
Sumia nods from her height, making one last run as the rest of the group makes their go at the Risen. Sumia's too focused on clearing out injured to assit with smashing, magicking or spearing the meance that's in the town, but that's okay as it looks like they've got most of it.

Zephyr's seeking lasers manage to peirce quite a few of the Risen, the numbers continuing to thin out with each laser, some of them just dissipating into dust from it while Valentha's Blizzard Dryer freezes quite a few in place and, with a convinent heavy breeze, knocks some of the icecubes down to break, shattering the frozen Risen inside. Bertram's spell, a beautiful sight to some of the villagers, burns quite a few of the Risen there, with them falling over, blackened from the holy energy. Yuna's pulse blasters knock out quite a few more, with black smoke rising from the holes the blaster shots make. Cirra's and Corona's capable of moving into the Risen Cheif's vicinity, with most of his guard decimated, he swings his axe in a wide arc, trying to knock the two interlopers aside, only to get peirced by the blades and pickaxe head... he wobbles and drops to his knees, buthe's still barely moving.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa has an ide aof wha tit is, she makes note of the risen and keeps her self ready to keep fighting these things. Zombies always left her uneasy as in a way? There are people who would consider her one as well. Just one caused by sicence rather than likely magic of some sort. She's now opening fire again trying to keep the Risen culled as best she can. Oh she's going to have to help clean up this mess later she thinks, for now she's going back to using her SMG.

Valentha Summers (834) has posed:
That is perhaps the biggest onslaught - magical or otherwise - that Valentha's seen in quite a long time. She hops back to marvel at it, but her sharp eyes keep flicking back and forth to make sure no risen are escaping the boundaries.

Hrm. To interfere, or leave this up to her allies?

... No, the Lost Logia is far too dangerous to just dilly-dally even if the situation's in hand. That decision could get someone killed. She won't make it.

And so Valentha extends her hands after tucking away the weapons. A few gestures to shape the energy, a soft chant to focus her mind...

    *KRA-KA-KOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*

A bolt of lightning splits the otherwise calm skies, thick and jagged. The target? The Risen Chief.

Corona Arclite has posed:
Putting an entire village at threat is all the reason Corona needs to do what needs doing. As far as they were conserned where she came from it was the sort of frontier justice that was acceptable when the good of many was at stake. All she would need to do is--

Her tail bristles abruptly as Valentah starts to chant.

--is get out of the way, wenching her weapon free from the Chief's backside and leaping out of the way just before Valentha makes the thunder roll and lightning strike. She lands with a sort of spinning skid, collapsing her hammer down to one-handed so she can yank the pistol-like weapon out of it's holster with the other, and come out of the turn with the gun drawn and ready in case the guy is somehow not dead (again).

And she doesn't dare shoot the Logia itself, in case that sets the damn thing off. Best to just leave the artifact to the expert, being Zephyr.

Cirra Constantine (675) has posed:
Cirra puts the Risen Chieftan down for the count for the moment. She holds her sword up defensively as she approaches it. She glances aside, and makes a snap judgement: It's undead, it apaprently can't be reasoned with, and in short order the Lost Logia will take it over and drive it even madder.

The Judge rusehs in, swinging the Judge Blade up, swinging the weapon for the undead's head, aiming to sever it completely unless something stops her. It's a simple, straight forward attack, not attempting to get fancy.

Yuna Kagurazaka (385) has posed:
The Risen are going down fast now, from the looks of things; Yuna isn't entirely sure whether their 'chieftain' is dealt with so that Zephyr won't need to execute her plan, but there's no real point in taking chances. She takes another look along the coordinates Elner relayed to her, then swoops in on a couple of remaining undead - not shooting from a distance, but building up holy, Light-elemental power around the Matrix Divider and delivering melee strikes, adding concussive force from the controlled release of that focused power in her weapon.

Unless the Risen are surprisingly resistant to holy/light elements, there's not much reason for them to survive - and Yuna is focusing on Risen who were still trying to pose an active threat.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr wobbles in the air after her spell finishes, a hand moving up to clutch over her chest with a wince. She slowly lowers down to a roof to watch.

The Artifact is spooling up, but it's not quite fast enough. As the Risen Chief takes hits, he drops the device, the rings clinging against the ground as it starts to vibrate and emit more light than it had before.

Royce grits his teeth, then shakes his head. "Do not touch the artifact!" he radios, then moves at best speed to begin sealin the item before it can go critical.

Bertram Silent (826) has posed:
As the device falls, Bertram calls upon water to give the risen chief the force of a tidal wave. Damaging perhaps, but more importantly it's got a lot of kinetic energy to force him away. Just in case he's in a good enough state to pick it up again.

Sumia (544) has posed:
The bolt of lightning hits dead on... the sword connects with the neck and drives most of the way... the light elemental bullets crash right into the Risen Chief and the blast of water impacts at just the right angle to help the sword finish cleaving the head off, the Risen Chief is... no more. And with the chief gone, the bodies that litter the ground shrivel up and puff into non existance in a cloud of black smoke, coming into the shape of a dragon that flies off towards the west.

Sumia drops down and lands in the village, vulnearies at the ready as she looks around, "ANy injured, I can offer healing.." she calls out to the villagers in question, many who flock to her as she looks over towards Zephyr and the gang... "Is it secure?"

Corona Arclite has posed:
Corona Arclite wisely curbs her curiousity and stays the heck out of the way so Zephyr can do her job. Shakes her head to Sumia as she reholsters her revolver and dusts herself off a bit. "Nuttin' worse than a typicahl day on the job, pardner. Ya'd pro'ly be best off checkin' on the locals, make sure ain't none of them too messed up." Then clicks off the generator in her hammer and restows it as well. "Though iffen y'all want ah can try an' get a crew in to help shore up these houses."

Cirra Constantine (675) has posed:
Cirra spins around as her sword cuts through the chieftien's head, and comes back around to hold it up in both hands as she watches. THe Logia falls, clinks....and starts shaking everything.

"MAybe that wasn't my weisist decision ever. How long to contain it?!"

Valentha Summers (834) has posed:
"You can seal this one, right? If not, I might be able to keep it under control until someone else arrives who can." Valentha points out, though she doesn't sound too certain about this. With the Risen down, she's taking a moment to survey the village with a few quick looks left and right and all around...

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Royce looks over at the technomage. "I could use some help... Zephyr's Linker Core isn't stable so she can't provide a stabilizing force. Contain the power bleed and let it run while I capture it." he says to Valentha, looking strained as he pushes power through his Device, energy pulsing from the gemstone between the tuning-fork head.

Cirra Constantine (675) has posed:
Cirra steps back from the sealing process, she is not MAge Enough to help them with it. "I'm still not sure what this device is. It seemed like teleportation, but something was off about it."

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa is keeping with her friend, and doesn't move to shoot at the Logia it's beyond her pay grade and she darn well knows it. She holds back now she looks to the Chiftan for a moment trying to figure out what's going on with this she's not got much in the way of magic. Thankfully the others are able to bring it down but there's something leaving now.

"I'm afraid I'm too alien to your healing ablities to be helped by you but thanbkf you."
