Yari Takane (691) has posed:
As much as Yari might love the majority of the residents of Dun Realtai, she's an absolute horror to the kitchen staff. A perfectionist by nature, and banned from cooking, even breakfast must be perfect in her eyes. Thus, she has her arm folded and tail swaying as she stands in the castle's kitchen, calling out to the poor maidservants!

"YOU! FASTER! That egg won't be properly braised if you just stand around! AND YOU! Toast that muffin properly you lout! I won't accept anything less than a perfect meal for Sanary! Turn! Turn that sausage now you slacker!" Poor, poor ladies and gentlemen. Eventually, she comes out with a plate of english-muffin egg sandwich and properly cooked sausages for her favorite warrior healer.

"Breakfast is ready, Sanary." She calls out as she herself sit down. Nom.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary's usually not the type to sweat the small stuff. She was raised in the boonies of Plegia, after all, and finding a worm here or an extra foot there just meant extra protein during breakfast. Of course, she knows better than to try and stop the Au Ra when her mind is set, and she's even amused while listening to Yari barking orders at the kitchen staff.

It definitely helps keep her mind off the past few days at least.

"Didn't even have to hit 'em this time, hm?" She chuckles lightly and sits up in her seat as her favorite ninja approaches with the food, eye widening slightly at the food before her. "Looks like you got some good results today. Aah.. What's the occasion?" Of course, she doesn't waste much time before starting to eat (with her hands, that barbarian). NOMF.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari slowly nods as breakfast is delivered. "They're learning. Might not look like it, but those girls have talent. Miss Saber has just been too weak and nice to them! They need discipline!" Typical Yari, all force and discipline!

But then she figuratively bites her tongue. She's had a hard week, and looks it. There's bags under her eyes.

"I just...wanted to be with you. For things to be perfect."

A pause, and she looks Sanary in the eyes. "Sanary. Why do you fight? What...what are you after?' She asks suddenly, and oddly timid.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary laughs and takes a big bite out of a sausage, grunting in approval after a moment. "They do! Maybe Saber's just doing it in a... Not-military kind of way. 'cause they're too soft or something. Not used to our way of doing things." She chuckles again and leans back in her seat, then hunches forward to peer at Yari's face.

     She's definitely noticed those bags.

"Why? Mm... Well, it pays good. Definitely a huge step above what I did before signing up." Another laugh, although it's a little more somber this time. "Even if.. I dunno. I mean, I'm fine with doing shady stuff, but... I dunno."

Sanary sighs, then reaches over the table towards Yari's hand. "So what's wrong? You look like you haven't been sleeping much." She pauses, then narrows her eye after a few moments. "Did someone come after you again?"

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
"They'll never get proper training that way! She needs to push them harder." Yari states emphatically, before sighing. A hand reaches out, and her own takes it, squeezing. Her grip is light.

"I...I've been thinking. A lot. I fought Mister Gawain, when I was on a mission. The men and women I was sent to kill were horrible. They killed people because of their faulty medicine, on both sides. But even then, he wanted to save them. He said they 'deserved redemption'." She frowns, shuddering.

Her anger at the thought lessens, however. "...He was worried about me. He didn't say it, but...he thinks that every deserves 'redemption'." She ends, sighing.

"...What is he talking about? Shouldn't evil people who do things like that die, and good people live? If they have power, they'll just hurt more innocent people. Even..." Her teeth grit.

"Even people like you who don't have any opportunities. And people like that hurt idealistic /idiots/ like him! If...if we could get rid of every one like that, then maybe all of this idiotic fighting from profit and greed could end!" She slams down her fist, gasping, as she releases her feelings finally.

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary listens to Yari quietly, reaching over with other hand to pat the back of Yari's at that shudder. It's not an easy question to answer, and it takes the healer a while to even think up any answer to that. Even when she speaks, she sounds unsure of it herself.

"I... Think I sorta get what he meant, but I don't know if he's right or not. We've fought people that don't deserve it. Hell, we've probably even worked for some of 'em." She smiles again, but only briefly as she gives the Au Ra's hand another pat. "And... It's one thing to talk about it, but we won't always have time to think about this kinda thing when we're fighting someone and it's them or us."

Some determination returns to her eye. "Either we live, or we die. Good, evil... Mm. If everything worked that way, I'd... Maybe I'd be dead now, too." She laughs for no apparent reason, then drops her head right on the table. Sanary does narrowly avoid missing the plate, at least, and she inches forward a bit to get some more food into her face.

What? It's good food. Plus, it does take her mind off her troubles for just a moment.

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Every pat is met with a squeeze. The Au'Ra is more than a little possessive at the moment, and she's soon over to the other side of the table, leaning against Sanary. It feels good to be so close to someone who cares.

"We have. We /are/. That's what bothers me the most." A glance around, and only when she's sure the maids aren't listening does she speak.

"I don't trust many of the people that we work with, Sanary. They're the same kinds who act just like the Eikons who steal the souls of people. But there's people who understand strength and discipline too."

"And there's you. I...I won't betray that. But I can't say I'm happy either."

A deep sigh, and she looks into Sanary's eyes.

"I want to make my Mother proud. And I want to use the Confederacy for what it should do. Take worlds, and make them strong through war. To make sure every man and woman of any species can decide their own destiny, not be tossed about by the winds of fate and false gods."

She nods, some spark of confidence returning. "Evil or not, Sanary, I'm glad we're both alive. We need to find our purpose in life and walk towards it no matter what' s in our way. So, I'm goind to do everything I can to make sure you stay alive, and we both grow stronger."

She squeezes Sanary's shoulder.

"And that you too find your dreams. Because I love you."

Sanary Rondel has posed:
Sanary raises an arm as Yari switches sides, lowering it around the Au Ra's shoulder in a tight hug. Even with everything that's been floating around in her mind lately, it's a huge relief to have Yari close by as she is.

"There's definitely some... Sketchy people, yeah. But you know me. I'm probably not gonna be able to figure out what they're up to before they pull some shit on me. I'll just... Deal with it when it happens. It'll work itself out. Uh. Probably."

Definitely not her best strategy or even /a/ strategy, but... Well.

With Yari that close, it's hard not to look back into her eyes, albeit being a little harder with only the one to focus on two. She's trying, at least! "That's the best we can do, I think. I mean, you're smart, and I'm sure your mom's proud of you already. You could probably pull off being a great leader if you had the chance. But me... You know what? I'm fine with just being a really good hammer and bandage. "

There's a laugh, and it's not even a heavy one this time! No, she's getting some of her own fire back as well. "That's what I'll do, too. Even if some people might hate me or think it's evil... Bah. Good, evil, fuck it. If it'll make me strong enough to protect you and everyone else so we can get what we want, then that's all that matters. Because..."

That declaration at the end makes her blush furiously, however, and the healer's unable to maintain eye contact as the sandwich suddenly becomes very interesting to stare at. "... Th-that's just not fair." Another pause, and she lets out a barely audible whisper. "I love you, too."

Yari Takane (691) has posed:
Yari lets out a tiny breath, tail swaying.

"That's not much of a plan at all." Yari agrees, tilting her head, and giving the tiniest of nose-pokes.

She's also blushing, very, very heavily.

"But that's okay. Sanary, you fight with your heart and soul. Even if you don't know where you're going, I will be right beside you. No matter what." She promises. Squeeeze.

"I'm not sure, but I need to learn about leadership. About a lot of things. But I have people around me who care." Lute, Sanary, Gawain, Saber, Kiri. Yari can't help but brighten just a bit.

"So let's protect each other." She agrees. And then Sanary is blushing.

Yari grins, looking more lively than she has in days.

"...Has anyone ever told you that you're adorable, Sanary?" The tiniest of smooches, and then she's over to the other side of the table.

"Now let's eat! We have to keep morale high, you know!?"
