Location: Njorun Station - Medical
Synopsis: A certain little blonde visits one of her saviors while they're injured.
Cast of Characters: 162, 857

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
It's been a hellish weekend for the Wind Mage. But thankfully, Union Medical is state-of-the-art. She's out of intensive care, but still under observation due to the aftereffects of her FullDrive system.

Zephyr is sitting up in her bed, right arm strapped tightly in place while the collar bone that Scion cut through reknits itself. Several holographic screens are arranged around her in easy sight with just a slight turn of her head. Reports, updates, and a well wishes list from her Unit.

In one, there's a half-written letter to Clockblocker's family or anyone who might have been close to him, telling them how brave he was, and how selfless his sacrifice. Not that anyone needs to tell the Worm-verse people any of that.

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve's weekend hasn't been nearly so dark, of course. Eve's life has been immeasurably improved since she was freed. Training and reading take up much of her time these days, but not quite all of it. She hasn't forgotten those who saved her, and with Zephyr cleared for visitors, well...

The little blonde girl peers in. Literally peers in, her body hidden behind the door of Zephyr's recovery room, her head barely peeking around the frame. She doesn't want to disturb Zephyr after all! So she's utterly quiet, just staring until either acknowledged or she decides she's welcome and/or not disturbing anything.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Divine Wind chimes from it's spot on the side table. <Master. A visitor.>.

Zephyr looks over at the door, and smiles a bit, recognizing those eyes barely peeping around the door. "Whatchya doin' standin' out there, Eve?" she asks, putting on her 'I'm perfectly fine' voice. She certainly doesn't /look/ fine, but that's not important.

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve might explain if she were the chatty sort. She's not, so she just nods sideways, reverts her head to the normal horizontal orientation, and pads quietly into the room.

She's carrying a book. This is, of course, not an uncommon thing for the girl. The uncommon part is that she doesn't have it open and her face isn't stuck into it. "I came to see you." she says, perhaps unnecessarily. And apparently to bring a gift.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Heh. Zephyr laughs softly, then winces as it shakes her healing shoulder. "Ow... Y'didn't need to." she says, putting on a brave face once more. "T'be honest? I didn't want ya t'see me like this. How'm I gonna be 'Big Sister' if I'm stuck in a bed?" she offers, smirking a bit to try and deflect off of herself.

    Divine Wind chimes again. <Master...>

Eve (857) has posed:
Don't thank Eve until you see the title of the book she brought. It's a treatise on chemistry that's heavy on the math, acquired mostly for the word count. Just in case Zephyr's in medical for an extended time... or needs help sleeping perhaps.

Eve frowns. In truth she doesn't like seeing anyone injured, but she doesn't think poorly of 'Big Sister'. Zephyr's a kind of scary figure of awe to her, given she was the first person Eve ever saw cut loose in combat. That she was beaten down, well, that just means there's other scary figures out there. Eve shakes her head. "I wish I could have been there." she says. Does she think she may have been able to prevent Zephyr's injury, or does she just want to have helped? Or perhaps, is it wishful thinking that she were strong enough to have made a difference?

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr's expression softens, and with her good hand, pats the side of her bed. The usual 'come here' gesture. "Scion was stronger than any of us, except for Yuri. I'm... lucky to be alive. One of the locals of that world saved me, at the cost of his own life." she says, averting her eyes toward the window. "He's gone now... at least that's what the reports say... so that's good. That world can rebuild now." She's sounding pretty melancholy, and her eyes are unfocussed, as if looking into a vast distance.

Eve (857) has posed:
This is a bit of a difficult concept for Eve. On the one hand, she's relieved that the danger has passed and that world can rebuild. On the other, well, Scion was killed. She'd like to believe killing isn't the only way to solve such things. That there could have been some other way. Still, Scion apparently chose to be that way. He chose to kill, and chose not to stop the destruction. It's not her place to say the solution was wrong even if she considers it unfortunate and personally distasteful. She won't voice her opinion, but she's still saddened by it.

Eve steps up, looking at the indicated spot, then seems to decide it's okay and turns to lean against the spot. She's small enough that this isn't physically awkward, and she's really not sure Zephyr was requesting her to hop up... or if that would be uncomfortable in her current state. Better to be safe, and still show her closeness in a slightly non-demonstrative way. "Does anyone know what comes next then? For... for them?" she asks. It seems a safe enough question.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
"Scion's gone... but there's still the Villain capes... with the world ending averted, it's only a matter of time before something gives in the little alliance that formed." says Zephyr bitterly. She reaches over, and lightly ruffles Eve's hair. "Anyway, enough doom and gloom, how's the studyin' goin'?" she asks, putting on a smile again as she leans back against the headboard.

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve accepts the hair ruffling with obvious tolerance, apparently taking pity on the poor wounded. "Well, then we'll just have to put the villains in their place." she notes with strained dignity.

She seems a bit more pleased to be asked about her training, or at least studying. Much the same thing really. "I'm figuring out a few things." she admits, not without a hint of pride in there. She holds up her hand, concentrating, the silver metal flowing out of her fingers and forming the whole into a little silvery bunny rabbit. A few seconds more, the liquid silver seems to solidify, frosting over to white. It's not a weapon, and that's perfectly okay with Eve. It's a small step, but not everything she does needs to be weaponized.

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr watches the little 'party trick' and nods approvingly. "We'll have you performing at kids parties in no time." she teases. "When I'm back on my feet, I want to go a round with you, see how much you've really learned."

The mage then shifts a little, groaning as the ache in her shoulder starts getting worse. "Gnnn, think it's time for my pain meds again, those bone knitters are really uncomfortable, y'know."

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve's not unpleased. Of course she's also worked on other transformations, but she doesn't think showing off her weapon skills here and now would be appropriate. Or any more impressive, really. Being able to imagine something and forming it, well, that's really the core here. Details are just that... details.

She nods, her expression firming into resolve. "I'll show you." she promises. Not a threat, just a resolve. She's not likely to win, but she won't be embarrassed to try either. "Ah, should I go then?" she asks, not sure if Zephyr might want her to be elsewhere when she calls for aid. "I'll just..." she pauses, considers, then leaves the weighty tome she brought on the bedside table. Hey, it's the thought that counts right?

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr makes a soft grunting sound. "I won't be much of a conversation partner when I'm dosed up, kiddo. I'll see ya later." she offers a smile as the girl moves to start leaving. "Don't worry, I'll be fine in a week or two."

Eve (857) has posed:
Eve nods, and turns to leave. After a moment she turns back, considering. Wordlessly she reaches out to clasp Zephyr - with rather excessive gentleness to be sure - and give her a hug so brief and careful it may as not even really be there. Still... as before, isn't it the thought that counts?

Zephyr Windstar (162) has posed:
Zephyr is surprised, and before she can react, the hug is gone. She smiles though, as she watches the young blonde leave. "She's a good kid." she murmurs to herself, the nurse arriving with the medicine cart soon after.
