Location: Tomoeda-865
Synopsis: Sanae comes to pick up her treated uniform, and gets something extra thrown in!
Cast of Characters: 619, Tomoyo Daidouji

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
It's definitely winter now in the little town of Tomoeda. Light snow has begun to fall, clogging gutters and making paths treacherous. However, the people are still filled with good cheer in spite of the chill, getting their Christmas shopping done as young children engage in epic battles fought with snowballs.

Tomoyo's Boutique, being commission-only, doesn't get a lot of the rush. But business has picked up, and the tailor herself is sitting at the counter writing up a schedule for herself for all this new work.

Sanae Kochiya (619) has posed:
It is quite a busy season, even in lands such as Gensokyo. With spirits such as Letty's grip falling upon the land, it's a time for curling up under kotatsu and shuttering the porches, certainly. Yet, it's also an active part of the year for checking up on friends and family. With the contact of the multiverse, this small circle has extended farther for many of its residents. And so, even if there was no actual business to attend to, Sanae might have come to peek in, regardless - using that angle as an excuse to come see how Tomoyo was doing, of course! Blending in better with the crowds, she's currently dressed in something significantly modern Earth, with a thick coat over a long dress and tights. A striped, earthen-toned muffler is wrapped warmly about her shoulders and lower face, further insulating her from the chill. She doesn't even fly in, instead opting for a bicycle, the chime of which can be heard ringing from outside as she pulls up.

Nudging the kick stand down with a low booted foot, she leaves it outside, and pushes her way inside, adjusting the garment around her neck so that her voice will be easier to hear. "Miss Tomoyo, I'm here. You had something for me?" It takes her a few moments of glancing around between the handful of other customers, in various stages of being measured for comissions of their own, perhaps, and the other employees. That is, before her eyes settle on the owner of the boutique, and she smiles. "I hope I didnt leave you waiting for long. It just was a bit surprising." She had figured it was only the robe that she had treated, after all.

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
The store heaters are on full-blast, greeting the shine maiden with a rush of warm air as she steps indife. Tomoyo looks up at the door as the bell above chimes, indicating Sanae's arrival! The mundane clothing doesn't throw her off in the slightest. "Welcome Sanae!" she says cheerfully, waving her over.

"It did take a while, I know. I'm terribly sorry, business boomed a little too much. I'll need to hire more help at this rate! But... that's not the only reason it took so long. The other reason is a bit more selfish of me. I'll explain in a moment."

She heads up the stairs behind the counter, soon coming back down with Sanae's order! Through the plastic bag, she can see the familiar colors of her outfit... but there's something else in there too. "I'm sorry, but when I really got to look at your uniform, I wanted to try my hand at making something similar. And after your help with the Makai incident, I wanted to give you something. No charge of course."

And with that, she offers the bag to Sanae over the counter with a smile.

Sanae Kochiya (619) has posed:
Not even a priestess likes to stay in her uniform all the time, you know, especially when she's not officially on duty! Though, as she removes her scarf and jacket, to set them aside at the door, it becomes obvious that her long and warm dress still has the same, rich blue and white color scheme. Smoothing it out a bit, she gives another glance around, out of curiosity rather than actively looking for something, this time. "Yes, I see," she laughs softly. "Even with how big the multiverse is, though, there just aren't that many places like this, you know? At least that everyone can afford. Back in my world, people usually just bought machine-made things off the rack." Gensokyo was a pleasant change, in so many ways. You still have people like Alice there, for example, that make their own things.

She takes a few more steps inside, then, giving a dismissive shake of her head at the apology, "Really, it's fine! The pace of life can pass you by." Her curiosity returns, though, when Tomoyo explains herself, and she moves closer, eyes blinking, "Oh?" Somewhere, Kanako is likely preening over something she designed being an inspiration to someone else, and banking on some Faith return over it. There's a faint pink tinge to the green-haired girl's cheeks, which is added on top of the flush that was already there from coming into the warm store from the cold outdoors, and she momentarily breaks eye contact, "You, you didn't have to do something like that for me, over that much. Ahahah..." She self-consciously adjusts the snake-like ornament that holds that one tendril of hair in place, but then returns to smiling directly at the seamstress, "Thank you, though, Miss Tomoyo. It means a lot to me!"

With this, and not wanting to have Tomoyo wait too long, she takes the bag with both hands. Never the one to wait until she gets something home, and just not content with what she can see through the exterior of it, she of course peeks into it as soon as it's completely in her possession.

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
"Oh, I know I didn't have to Sanae. I did it because I wanted to," Tomoyo says warmly, giggling at the sight of Sanae's blush. "And don't dismiss what you did. That incident might not have been resolved so smoothly had you not been there!" She's quite emphatic on this point, and quite relieved when Sanae accepts the gift.

"I hope you like it!" is all she says as Sanae disappears behind the curtain of the dressing room. Upon opening the bag, she would first find that plain uniform, looking completely pristine like she had never worn it. But the other outfit...

It's clearly inspired by Sanae's usual uniform. However, the skirt are only blue around the waist, shifting to purple towards the hem with white frills along the hemline. Furthermore, it has a design dyed into it there, of a village at the base of a mountain range that has tori set up along a path through it, leading to a shrine. It seems to be inspired by the Human Village, Youkai Mountain and the Moriya Shrine. It comes with a thin, light blue sash to hold it up.

There is also a sleeveless white top, designed to emulate the look of robe hems folding over each other with a tuft of blue frills at the collarbone. To be worn on top is a white vest with blue hems, with a series of holes along the end of the sleeves. The reason for these becomes apparent when the detached sleeves are brought out, which have matching holes, as well as blue laces. There's even a little diagram to show how to lace them and the vest together!

The final touch is a little green frog accessory, and a white snake accessory. The frog has several kinds of pins, clips and clamps that can attach to it so it can be work as a hairpin or a brooch. The snake holds any form it is twisted into, and can even be made longer by pulling it! Another diagram indicates that squeezing both sides of the head makes it retract.

Sanae Kochiya (619) has posed:
Sanae's eyes broaden for a moment, though she seems to hold in whatever response she has, in lieu of a broad smile and a bow of her head, "I'll be right back, then!" She trots over to the changing booths, just in case of any adjustments that will have to be made, you see -- not just so Tomoyo can get a glance at her own handiwork. A laugh comes muffled from inside, a while later, but it is not one of mockery or derision, but of delight! While she's used to the fastenings on her own uniform robes, these ones are a bit different, so the diagrams that were provided aren't wasted. Given the added complexity, ten minutes easily goes by with various rustling sounds being audible. "Hmm, wish I'd worn my normal shoes and socks," she ponders aloud, "They'd go even better with this." She'll just have to send a picture to Tomoyo later, with those details 'fixed'.

It's not long after that thought, though, that she emerges with a flourish, spinning lightly to let the garments billow. It's clear that she's having fun with it! The fit is quite precise, thankfully, so no major issues of adjustment will be needed, and she looks quite comfortable. "Hmm," she pauses and looks thoughtful, glancing around and over it, drawing out the skirt with a hand and looking over the designs, "It's lovely, Miss Tomoyo! I'd be almost afraid to wear it when fighting youkai, but I think I'll wear this to the festivals about to start up in Gensokyo." It really is the season, you know! She wanders up to Tomoyo, perhaps to give her a closer look so that she can scrutinize anything that needs adjusting, but if she's not careful, she might be the victim of a HUG instead! "I haven't had too many people, that have done something like this for me," apparently a bit embarassed by admitting as much, but she smile warmly, "Thanks." As if to dismiss that kind of serious tone, she jokes soon after, "A bit of variety in my tired closet is the perfect gift, haha!"

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
Tomoyo waits patiently as Sanae changes. The laugh she hears is a happy one, so she's feeling confident! And then she emerges, and the tailor claps in delight! With quick hands, she's extracted a digital camera and captures a photo of Sanae mid-twirl. "You look fantastic Sanae~" she says softly, putting a hand to her cheek with an admiring look on her face.

And then the shrine maiden comes over to hug her! Tomoyo is never one to shy away from affection, so it is eagerly returned. "It's treated, the same as your usual uniform, so don't worry about getting it dirty. And it's made of strong stuff, so it won't tear easily. Not that most youkai could hit you to damage it~"

Listening to Sanae's embarrassed admittance, she pats the girl comfortingly on the shoulder. "It's okay. Just means you need to get out more! I bet you would make lots of wonderful friends easily~"

Sanae Kochiya (619) has posed:
"Haha, fair enough," comes the priestess' response. "I mean, I've made a lot of amazing friends in the multiverse already," present company included, she would like to think! "But there are so many cool people out there, with giant robots and things." She once again draws away, giving a rub to the back of her head, sheepishly, "Anyhow, enough about that. Ah, thats right. Your clothing is made for Elites, after all!" She adds another laugh, with Tomoyo's buttering her up with talk about not even getting hit in the first place; "Well, a lot of things can happen in the heat of battle, after all," she says, with some obviously false bluster and senior experience, glancing off to the side. "When the inevitable happens, it's good to know that you've got capable protection. I know that you'll have my back, Miss Tomoyo."

On that train of thought, something appears to dawn on her, "Oh, come to think of it. Is it okay if I have Lady Kanako have a look over this?" She once again draws out the cloth, exhibiting how free-flowing it is, "In my line of work, we tend to use charms for protection, you see. It's common to have the deity you're working for lay protection on it." Regardless of the answer, she moves back to the changing booth, and doesn't seem to mind at all that Tomoyo took the picture of her earlier. That's pretty common in the business world, right? Not like it's going into a personal album or something creepy. "I'd better not take up too much of your time, though. Your shop is getting busy enough. You know, if you want, I could spread word around Gensokyo that you might be looking to hire. There are a lot of people there that like crafting things, but there's only so many people they have to actually make things for." She briefly pauses, imagining trying to wrangle fairies...

Assuming nothing else major happens, though, she'll get changed back into the clothes she arrived in, and has carefully folded and returned Tomoyo's gift into the bag with the utmost care. And then she'll make her way out with another wave, as well as an offer, "Give me a call anytime you need anything, Miss Tomoyo! I'll see you again soon."

Tomoyo Daidouji has posed:
"So many wonderful people!" Tomoyo agrees enthusiastically, clearly including present company under that umbrella. "And of course I'll have your back. So please, call me Tomoyo~" Another genuine smile.

At talk of divine blessings, the tailor's eyes light up. "Oh, of course! But now I can't help but wonder... could I get a god or goddess on the payroll for blessed outfits? Hmm..." She looks into the distance for a moment, before snapping out of it. "Well, they would probably be expensive~ Something to consider for the future!"

Suddenly, a mysterious smile! "Oh, I know. A lot of craftspeople out there, doing their work without networking properly... I plan to fix that, don't worry~" And then she changes the subject by ringing up the price of the treated outfit! She takes a bit off, for the delays.

"Goodbye Sanae! And be careful, it's slippery out there," she replies, waving the miko off.
