Synopsis: Psyber offers Kay some advice and points her in the direction of some people that can train her.
Cast of Characters: 253, 780

Psyber (253) has posed:
Psyber hadn't sent Kay and big or fancy notice about wanting to see her, rather choosing to use an email or a text message telling her to stop by because he thought he could help her control her superhuman powers. Probably not completely, admittedly, but in terms of her 'overperformance' issues at times, he was willing to bet they could relate enough to give her some good advice.

Thus he waits, wearing some loose-fitting training clothes and sneakers on the floor of the sparrnig area. He's got a can of energy drink in one hand and lets out a heavy yawn.

Kay (780) has posed:
Kay eventually does show up, also wearing some casual clothes fit for training. Mostly, she did this because she didn't know what to expect from any 'training' that Psyber might offer. Her new rifle is in a case, though... a locked case, as it turns out. She sets that aside when she comes in, rubbing her head. "Hi... sorry I'm late. I got it to fire once, and I'm not sure how, so... better safe than sorry."

Psyber (253) has posed:
Psyber grins when she arrives and rubs the back of his head with his free hand, crushing the empty can and tossing it into a trashcan across the room with the other, "No rush. Basically, I just... remembered you talking about how sometimes you have issues controlling your physical powers. The throwing yourself through the air and all. I think maybe I can offer you some advice and practice, if you want it, since I have a lot of experience with that," He brings his hands up to a defensive position, "That way, you might be able to use it a bit better against other people in the future."

Kay (780) has posed:
Kay just shrugs lightly, rubbing her hands together in a display of nervous. "The... throwing through the air is kind of... I can sort of control when I do that. It's more um... tapping into the reserves that I can't. Or striking the intangible. Like the... you weren't around, but when Barghests attacked a while ago, sometimes I could hit them and sometimes not. That sort of thing. I haven't figured out how to do that."

Psyber (253) has posed:
"Well. Before I was the humble investigator you see before you, I used to be a Hunter. So maybe I can give you some advice," Psyber says as he watches her shrug. He thinks for a few moments and then says, "Mm. Sometimes you can, some times you can't. Unreliable, huh?" He looks up at the ceiling a bit.

"Back when I was learning to control my strength and stuff, it helped me to think about my powers like... a valve." He grins, "Sounds stupid, but maybe you should do the same. When you wanna throw yourself through the air, instead of doing it, imagine yourself opening a floodgate just a little to let out some power. Or when you want to hit those enemies you can't, imagine that power has a switch and then envision yourself flipping it. It might not work at first, but visualization can help control."

Kay (780) has posed:
"I've tried something /like/ that but I'll try what you say," Kay says. "I mean... you gotta remember I already have powers most humans don't. My handshake is a lot firmer if I want it to be. Controlling my strength and speed... I learned that a long time ago, even without a guide."

She gestures, reaching down after and lifting the edge of the table with remarkable ease. "I mean I'm probably not on your level, strength-wise, but I'm not exactly human either. It's just some parts that don't work right. My perception, that... special phase-hitting thing... got any tricks for that?"

Psyber (253) has posed:
"Powers like that, it's all about triggers, switches, and activations," Psyber thinks, crossing his arms and watching her lift up the table, "What you gotta do is find out what every event where you've ever done it had in common. Might be an emotion, might be a situation, might even just be that you REALLY wanted to hit someone at that moment."

He smirks a bit, "That's where you learn the trick for it. Find out what all your uses had in common and you have your trigger, then you can recreate it. Best advice I can think to give, since my eyes have their own weird vision. For me, I just feel like I'm mentally squinting and then supernatural stuff gets more visible."

Kay (780) has posed:
Kay laughs, "Yeah, that's... kind of like how it is for me and seeing stuff. That's the one I've learned a little how to use, but I haven't quite gotten good at using it when I want. At least I know I'm on the right track, right?" She hops up to sit on the... table. Real casual, huh? "The things I don't understand are my regeneration and the other thing. I can /feel/ it happening, and I've figured out it's tapping the same source that Berserker is, but I haven't figured out how." She nods to the rifle in its case. "And I think that's drawing from it, too."

Psyber (253) has posed:
Psyber tilts his head as she hops up onto the table, "Definitely on the right track. If you keep having issues harnessing it, I might know a biomancer that could make you some 'glasses' so to speak, so you don't have to squint as hard to hit your targets," He crosses his arms and shifts his weight slightly, "That stuff is hard for me to give advice about. I know where my regeneration comes from, but it's a whole different source." He clenches his jaw and thinks a bit, "Magical potential, though, is a bit beyond me. You might find more success talking to one of the more practiced mages. Arthur Lowell, Himei, Homura, Scarlet Everille, Theo Morrison. They've all got experience tapping power locked inside them."

Kay (780) has posed:
"It's a start," Kay mutters. "And biomancer... you mean Lest? I've worked with her a couple times. A little uh... standoffish, I guess, but once I learned who she was I realized she was probably okay. She's been looking at my blood samples with Kyra." She flexes fingers. "I just hope I can get something of use going soon... now that the truce is over. Heh, I sound like a Unionite."

Psyber (253) has posed:
"Lest is a brisk person, but a good person," Psyber says flatly, letting out an awkward laugh at hearing her called stand-offish. He shuts his eyes for a few moments and then opens them, "Kyra is alright. She's apprenticing under my in-house physician." He adds, watching her flex her fingers, "I'm sure you'll get something of use going. You just can't rush your natural growth, I think. Excepting the fact that your regeneration seemed to get kicked into high gear after that recent mission, didn't it?"

He folds his hands behind his head, grinning, "Sounding like a Unionite is alright. People stay in the faction for a reason." He seems to hesitate for a moment before adding, "If I can give you any more advice, training, or anything like that? Just tell me."

Kay (780) has posed:
"Yeah. Yeah it did," Kay admits, "And I don't think I want to experiment by 'nearly killing myself' more. But... it's not like very many things have regeneration like this, so I guess I'll just cope. I don't exactly mind." She sighs, running fingers through her hair. "IT's stuff to think about, anyway."

Psyber (253) has posed:
"As much as I get injured, I don't recommend that as a method to find out your limits, no," Psyber admits to her, sighing a little and then reaching out with his free hand. He plants it on top of her head and ruffles her hair a bit, "You're gonna be fine, kid. I got your back, so do a lot of people. Happy to help, even."
