Spare Parts No. 2
Date of Scene: 22 March 2016
Location: Desert Mountains
Synopsis: Attempted theft of some Superconductors from a Union materials facility!
Cast of Characters: Kotone Yamakawa, 276, 399, 516, 903, 942, Kushiko, 967

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
The complex belongs to the Union, of that there's no doubt. The raw materials are close enough nearby that the cost savings on transportation was very measurable. So one could call the little town of Silveride a boom-town of sorts, only with semi-conductors, metal alloys, and super-conductors as their stock in trade rather than just raw materials. It's a bit odd seeing a relatively modern town and production facility amidst the desert mountains, but stranger things have happened!
The alarms go off at one of the warehouses adjunct to the production facility, indicating somebody has broken the perimeter!

Taro (399) has posed:
Well -this- is irritating. Not just the noise - though the clatter of the alarm is definitely grating - but the possibility that he overlooked a sensor or tripwire somewhere during their entrance. Poor performance on his part, one that he's going to be quick to rectify if he can.
Taro grunts, more an expression of said irritation than from his landing on the inside of the fence, and looks to the purplish-blue twinkle of a cyber-elf that's shadowing him. "Sitta, see if you can shut that off."
'Sure thing, Em!' it warbles, then zips up and away to try and find the alarm's control system.
Stealth no longer being a high concern, the android priest folds his armor's wings and heads for the closest warehouse door at a flat run.

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
What's a high schooler in a gym uniform doing here? What's she doing with a tire dangling behind her and tied around her waist with a rope? Exercising, apparently, if her constant running is any indication. Plus, she's heard this place has good food! Any good food is worth a bit of a hike, even if it means dragging a tire through miles of uncharted territory!

Kazuko's jogging through the mountain town, moving along at a steady pace when she hears the alarms going off! She's not here unprepared, however, especially since she was caught with her pants down the last time a heist began without her weapon on her. Not that she's wearing pants today, either, but still. She's got her trusty blunt naginata strapped to her back, and the martial artist picks up the pace as she runs for the warehouse!

Ebon Ribbon (903) has posed:
Close behind the priest is a good-sized dark colored pony with neon purple highlights in her mane and tail. "I was told you disabled that alarm. Who knows what sort of trouble whill show up now?" she says in a rather high-and-mighty way, as if all further bad things that might happen to them on this trip are the priest's fault. She gallops with him toward the warehouse, then looks around for a power box along the outside.

When she finds one, the dark pony lashes out with neon purple magic ribbons that extend from her horn and glow with blackness. She wraps them around the power box, and attempts to drain the energy from the power system to shut the alarm up.

Ferham (516) has posed:
Ferham is on board this little heist for some spare superconductors. She figured Kari needed it for more Shinki-related activities, and well--they were parts, it wasn't like she was out stealing organs or something, wasn't quite the same significance. There likely were individuals that rolled around looking for organs to harvest out of people, however--those were in fact the sort of thing you wanted to watch out for. Ferham hadn't had the same problem scaling the fence that Taro did, as well, she could fly. Hopefully someday she could impress upon the importance of an armor form for the robo-priest, but for now they had an alarm to deal with.

"Any idea what set it off?" she spoke into her radio to her teammates.

Of course, somewhere in that warehouse was a rat standing near a motion detector. Also somewhere, Faruja was likely getting a bit of a twitch of his whiskers.

Kushiko has posed:
--Sometime prior..

<"Tenno, there is a time-sensitive mission alert available. Check navigation.">

It was an erstwhile glance in that direction that Valkyr gave the navigation terminal. Upgrading the Orbiter and Liset subsystems for multiversal travel had taken time, yet still more information was sought. There was only so much that could be gleaned, absorbed from the varying networks, public or otherwise, and even then, no true conclusions could be drawn.

Only direct engagement would serve to facilitate understanding.

--Shortly after alarm..

A cloaked ship briefly became just the opposite--the void mask momentarily melting away from the curvature of the vessel far above the facility. If one looked up at juuuust the right or wrong time, the underside of the vessel would be where a cylinder-like protrustion spun, revealing a humanoid-shaped recess and a figure. The same figure letting go of the grips and beginning it's descent, with the ship itself recloaking once more and peeling away for the time being.

Valkyr's limbs are held close, before she draws herself in, somersaulting her body forward into a landing position. It should cause some kind of.. powerful impact, but she lands with a catlike grace, taloned feet easing her into a crouch upon landing on the production facility roof. Her tail flicks once.

<"Engage at your discretion, Tenno. The enemy is already upon this fa>

Without a word further, the frame moved towards one of the skylights. An expulsion of void energy from her hand practically disintegrated the housing as she gave a quick onceover of the interior. Her optics would be checking for and perhaps updating her own personal mapping interface in relation to the trio of Confederates--as well as the Union member.

X (967) has posed:
With all the commotion, it's no wonder that heroic sorts would make a dash for the warehouse! But why was someone like X in such a remote part of the Multiverse to begin with?

Why, to pick up an unusual order Dr. Cain didn't want getting lost. A box full of quality superconductor components, ripe for testing. Something about a new Reploid design!

    The rest is classified.

"Oh no... now what?!" At the moment the box is staying with the wholesalers, since X burst free of the emporium and made mad tracks for the NOISY AS HECK alarm half a block away!

Unfortunately he is... pretty obvious, as responders go. Outlandish blue color, heading STRAIGHT FOR the trouble zone? Yeah he's kinda visible from a mile away.

"Is the Multiverse really THIS full of trouble? There's another incident every other day!"

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
X would find himself not alone as Kotone bremed in from her ship a bit after he arrived, she seemed to have picked up a job fgor here as well. She did arrive in time to hear his comment.

"Look this is a slow week for this sector X to be perfectly honest. This has been some of the quietst I seen it in a long time, look I'm not a front up fighter but I can lend support at the least on this."

She's rnning at a good clip she's also turning on her optic cameo and becomes a great dear harder to track.

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
The facility's guards are trying to organize a response to the trio of attackers, but the suddeness of the alarm combined with how far Taro, Ferham, and Ebon Ribbon made it /before/ the alarm was tripped... well, it's a bit of a joke. The Fedrate Trio has about three minutes before the guards have a proper response. For now, sentries relay sightings to the security post to keep track of the intruders.
"Bravo Seven here. They're headed for Exotic Materials Storage." Exotic Materials includes things such as unstable molecules (useful for making uniforms for superhumans), low-temperature plasmas (precursor materials required for cold fusion), monomolecular filaments, and room-temperature superconductors. Point being, any one crate of exotic materials would be a valuable target for the Confederates, even though they're really after superconductors.
"Security, we have a breach in the skylight!" calls another sentry as Kushiko slams into the roof and opens a new entryway into the warehouse. A caseless rifle unleashes alloy bullets with its strange bark, peppering the area around where the now falling skylight used to be mounted.
Kotone and X are briefly stopped to find their intentions with the facility, since they are not known Union elites and the facility is being locked down. It takes a few moments before the security forces allow them in. Kazuko, however, could expedite this if she knows them!

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
Kazuko's not quite the smartest one, but even she can recognize that X is probably some sort of helper here! He's not attacking, for starters, and someone /that/ colorful probably wouldn't be trying to sneak in, anyway, right? Right. Catching up to the security guards at the front of the facility, she looks him over slowly with an oddly suspicious stare before turning to the guards. "Hi! I'm with the Union. There's a break-in, right?"

Another look at X, and even a bit of sniffing in the air before... "... He's okay. If anything happens, I'll beat him up myself!" Satisfied with that, the martial artist glances around once as if trying to spot something... Kotone, perhaps? Either way, she's headed straight for the facility without a second though, tire still bouncing along behind her! Or dragging on the ground, if anyone opts to take a ride.

Taro (399) has posed:
"If the fault is mine, then I accept responsibility," Taro acknowldeges, and while his eyes narrow a bit at Ebon's tone of voice, he leaves it at that. The mission is more important than sparring egos.
While stealth remains a low priority, he doesn't dispense with his original plan for handling the entrance to the warehouse proper. As he dashes across the parking lot, he draws out a small, sleek box that looks suspiciously like a garage door opener, which he points at one of the lorry-sized docking doors. It may take a few moment as it cycles through sequences, but hopefully that should make their entrance all the easier.
In the meantime, his cyber-elf assistant zips through the skylight - possibly flashing Kushiko on its way past - in search of a junction box or fuebox or the like that it could wreack a little havoc in. And silence that alarm, of course.

Kushiko has posed:
<"Well, that was expected."> Kushiko might remark. The Valkyr warframe on the other hand, moves in a way not to actually /directly/ engage yet, though one of the rounds makes a *spang!* as it strikes and makes the shield enveloping the black and purple-colored Warframe's shield pulse with blue.

It's when that errant shot strikes the shields that she moves. Vaulting up and over through the skylight--shards of glass dissolving into pink-purple smoke from void energy, she twists her body, coiling herself in such a way that she clings momentarily to the surface before hurtling herself forward into the hail of gunfire itself.

Gunfire that as she flies through the air and towards one of the warehouse's catwalks (or something similar)--her sword, however, is drawn in response to the gunfire, fanning preternaturally towards the shots, deflecting and sometimes cleaving shots outright, miraculously in a way that while there might be superficial damage, there's none redirected at the offending fire.

And once she lands, she'll make a pointed 'guard' gesture, and a cant with her head towards the more defensive position. One might call it eerie--the eyeless helmet of the feminine, yet armored figure might be intimidating. But it's a gesture as if to say: 'I'm not here for you.'

Ferham (516) has posed:
With X and the others a little... tied up at the moment being admitted to the facility, the mice still had a bit of time to play--so to speak. Ferham would also use the skylight entrance and flicked her electromag whip out and on, she wasn't going to force the others to do all the work for her, or anything. Any of the security devices or doors in the place would be seen to by her, if she needed to crack the entrance to where the superconductors were being stored. But then of course there would be guards for them to take care of, likely.

This does however leave her in the vicinity of X, most likely--once he's actually inside, or is he already there? Was it Schrodinger's Megaman, all of a sudden??

X (967) has posed:
"Slow?! This is slow?!" Well consider X gobsmacked. The last scion of Light leaps and skids along the pavement towards the warehouse, glancing over Kotone's way. Not much he can do if she's actually here for security...

And there might not be a lot he can do here either, depending on who's behind the trouble.

Having someone Union randomly just greenlight his aid has him blinking a few times though. What just happened? "Not going to argue with that. I'm here to help! What's the situation?"

Of course, hearing there's several unknown intruders is pretty expected.

So X just does what he does in a situation like this. Barges on into the warehouse and starts hunting for the trouble!

Ebon Ribbon (903) has posed:
Draining the power doesn't seem to work, so Ebon leaves the security alarm to Taro's little elf friend. "You are too slow." she says to Taro before the prissy pony steps forward. She lashes her magic ribbons about, then they suddenly thrust forward toward the door and converge on it, then the area around the door seems to warp inward and the light that should be reflecting off the door is suddenly dimmed.

There are sounds like creaking metal and arching electricity as energy is drawn into the rift in space, then the sounds stop before the rift explodes like a bomb! A visible shockwave flows outward from the explosion, but it is only actually dangerous for about a 10 ft radius.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa Deals with the guards not being dumb about thier arrival and she'll be looking to Kazuko for a moment.

"I got a job posting."

SHe otes but she seems ready though she has cloaked by this point before she move in who knows what's lurking in there she really has no idea.

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
The hacking device beeps acknowledgement as it finds the codes for the door, the ratcheting mechanism lifting it up. HOWEVER! One can imagine that the impatience of Ebon Ribbon would be exacerbated by the slow rise of the door, and it is blown into ribbons by the dark pony's magic. There's a few movements just visible as the doorway is cleared, some sentries trying to get cover. Other sentries were clearly not so lucky and were caught by shrapnel...
The sentry stops at the Valkyr's gestures and the fact that the odd humanoid has not overtly attack him. The facility was on alert, however. Even though the sentry has stopped shooting the warframe, he has not lowered his weapon or dropped his guard. The malevolent looking being is an unknown, after all. He does get into the position indicated, but warily, not fully trusting the odd intruder.
A passing futuristic jeep offers a ride to X, Kotone, and Kazuko, since they're responding to the intrusions as well. Either way, they approach the warehouse, which is marked 'EXOTIC MATERIALS STORAGE' and looks like it has been hit with grafitti until one realizes those are all warning labels about the nature of the materials inside.
Ferham is likely to run into the same sentry that Kushinko did, and much the same response. Weapons fire by a caseless rifle that spits out three rounds so fast that the recoil hits long after the third bullet has left the barrel.

Taro (399) has posed:
"You are impatient." Spoken with the faintest hint of disdain, though that may be lost in all the noise and clatter. And the guards. Mustn't forget them, since they're on the other side of the now ruined door.
"You can deal with them," Taro says to Ebon, barely breaking stride as he runs, then leaps from ground to dock and inside. He draws and activates his beam sabre in one smooth motion, but aside from giving a fancy one-two slash at the air in front of him as he enters, he'll try to continue dashing past the sentries without directly attacking them. They are simply doing their jobs, and quite frankly not worth his time if they're smart enough to get out of their way.
Where -has- his 'elf gotten to, anyway?

Kushiko has posed:
Further from the field of battle, the Lotus is watching. The flash of data, the cyber-elf is noted on her feed. Curious. Then again, given the wide dearth of possible unknowns, all possibilities must be considered for her personal Cephalon to sift through the data of later.

Closer to the field of combat is a different matter. There's no overt sign of actual acknowledgement or otherwise. Something that Ferham, and perhaps to a lesser degree the sentry may note that.. whatever this power armored figured is, is nearly noiseless. Not a single sound of breathing, only a very /faint/ sense of energy wavering off it's winglike protrusions.

The arrival of Ferham through the skylight entry she created results in the figure suddenly twisting about with fluid grace. Partly to get out of the way of oncoming fire, certainly. The other was to channel a scintilla of energy through her body, and as the bullets fly from the rifle, so does Valkyr; her weapon, Broken War brought close to her and then whirling about horizontally as she seemingly unfolds, whirling about with her weapon outstretched like a whirlwind incarnate.

Ferham may recognize it for a feinting maneuver, yet no pretense, no hesitation exists in her body language. There's certainly a measure of synthetic material that flashes before one's eyes; beyond the decidedly unique structure of the blade of course.

Alternatively, given the way she seems to arc her body up and over the firing line of the sentry, one might argue she's seeking to keep the sentry from actually earning proper wrath.

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
Woo! Free ride. Kazuko's got enough sense to actually take the rope and tire off while she's in the jeep, leaving it in the vehicle by the time she disembarks. "So the intruders are in... Uh. Around here, huh?" She's looking somewhat excited by then, the prospect of a fight already getting her pumped!

Sure, it's probably going to be dangerous, but what fight isn't? A martial artist is always prepared to die! Not that she wants to, of course, but still. Spotting that explosion from the bomb Ebon and Taro have detonated, it doesn't take her that much brain power to figure that they're probably responsible for the breach.

"Hey! You two! Stop right there with... WHatever it is you're doing!" She calls out while whipping that naginata around in front of her with a practiced flourish, then starts chasing after the two. Sure, they might have magic and technology on their side, but that alone isn't going to scare the girl off!

Ferham (516) has posed:
When the sentry begins firing the caseless ammunition at Ferham--she at once tries to shield herself with one of her wings--sliding them up and out from her back and turning--ducking and trying to find cover as well. Why was a robot afraid of such small-arms fire, one might ask, well the answer is very simple--11-14mm steel machine gun rounds can still tear through steel, this was why most of the lower-end attack robots in Fer's time period carried ballistics still.

Thus, when Kushiko appears, she's taken off-guard--Reploid? The Tennou might look well enough like one, but the lack of the face and other subtle armor design choices says otherwise.

Ebon Ribbon (903) has posed:
Ebon Ribbon just fluffs her mane as Taro accuses her of impatience. "Well, we are on a tight schedule, dear." she says before Taro rushes inside. She rolls her eyes lightly as she is left to deal with the incoming Kazuko. With some of the guards firing in her direction, Ebon quickly hops out of the doorway, still outside the warehouse. They have a skinny martial artist girl incoming, so Ebon goes for the first strike.

Her five ribbons lash out, attempting to trip up Kazuko with two of them while the others try to wrap around Kazuko's arms and neck and pull her downward to aid in the tripping and try to force a faceplant. Whether any of that succeeds or not, contact with the ribbons would start draining Kazuko's energy.

X (967) has posed:
It's not very often that X is in the position he's in now! maybe more in the future, but this is new to him NOW. The android swiftly looks about concernedly after the signs of forced entry... and the girl who's APPARENTLY from the Union?

"You're not even wearing armor!" He blurts at her, shocked, as she goes charging off with... wait, where did she get that Naginata anyways? Was she WALKING AROUND TOWN WITH THAT?

Well... whatever, for now. He plows on ahead through the smoke and the gunk after Taro and Ebon himself!

"This has gone far enough! Are you mad?! Setting off explosives around weird materials puts the whole town in danger!"

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa is just going to keep seeking in she is cloakced for the moment, as she wonders just what's going on here she's yet to have any major trouble. She looks to X for a moment, but doesn't reply as she movs in she'd spot Taro and Ebon now and she's moving up on Taro she'll wait to see what they say to X but she expects she knows how this is going to go.

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
The warehouse's interior is divided up into convenient aisles that are labeled. After all, if a warehouse wasn't organized well, how was one to know if the neutrino-generating masses were within 10m of the <REDACTED> storage? Taro should be able to find the superconductors easily. Getting through the sentries present should not be too much trouble, as there were only a handful of them actually in the warehouse. No. The real trick will be getting away with the goods. There are guards starting to swarm outside the warehouse, armed with ballistic armor and advanced combat rifles like the ones the sentries had been using.
That said, there are data stores inside the warehouse that the cyberelf manages to get access too, laying out what and where is stored, as well as warnings about what shouldn't be placed near (for various values of 'near') each other.

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
Don't worry, X. It's blunted! And she wasn't walking. She was running! That means it's okay... Somehow.

"Armor would just slow me down!" Sure, the intruders have all sorts of magic and technology that would undoubtedly help defend them from all manner of attacks, and all Kazuko's got is a t-shirt and bloomers, but she's not the sort to let little things like that discourage her. Not when there's bad guys to fight and ponies to...

...Pony. Why is there a pony here? She had seen Ebon on her way over, but she could've sworn it was just a trick of the light. That momentary distraction is enough for Ebon to get the first attack in, forcing the martial artist to swing herself around nimbly and avoid getting herself caught up in those ribbons. She still feels the draining effects of them on her body, though, as they graze by her arms, drawing a light grimace from the girl while her running speed slows down considerably.

"Ggh... What's a pony ding here? Aren't ponies supposed to be happy and magical things?! And your head looks weird!" Kazuko shouts out a kiai as she launches herself right at the pony, using her speed to try and thrust the blunted blade right into her horn. It appears as if she's trying to end the encounter quickly rather than drawing it out with testing attacks and tricky strikes, apparently realizing that a protracted battle might not be her best bet here.

Kushiko has posed:
Ballistics, crude or otherwise were still effective. After all, one of the Valkyr's weapons of choice was a light machinegun of considerable strength and capacity; her other sidearm more akin to a leveraction rifle as well. Then again, with the right modifications, one can utilize anything quite effectively.

Regardless of this, the light, almost lilac shade of pink pulses steadily along the edges of Valkyr's helmet as her head cants to follow Ferham's movements as she lands, the taloned feet clacking almost noiselessly upon the flooring beneath her. The sword she wields is gripped a bit more tightly as if to evaluate Ferham.

And that's when she squares herself--before unleashing a sharp, primal cry--the cry heralding the unleashing of her shield energy outward in a shockwave of paralyzing energy outwards as though to perhaps force a further pushback. Maybe even to assess the degree of robotic element that Ferham might possess.

Taro (399) has posed:
Taro, in typical Confederate fashion, pays Kazuko's calls for him to stop no heed whatsoever and continues further in. The signs are a useful guide, and whoever organized this place will get a silent thank you. Another running leap takes him from floor to halfway up a set of open stairs leading upward toward his goal.
That second voice shouting at them has a far more notable effect than the first. He pauses, then turns to glance behind him. At his first glimpse of X, the android's eyes widen, and he stiffens. It's only a moment, but in that moment his shock is quite plain.
Then his eyes narrow, though he ackowledges, "The explosion was as unanticipated as it was unwise." He remains standing where he is for a moment longer, which gives Kotone a chance to catch up as well if she's still pursuing him. "I've no interest in pointless destruction here and now. Unless you plan to force the issue."

Ferham (516) has posed:
Lilac energy pulses. Clearly Kushiko has had some fun in the armory of her ship tweaking her frame's colors to get that rather fabulous shade, but this spells bad news for Ferham, as the Warframe was probably more than a match for even her high-performance model bod. Ferham's green eyes flick to the sound of those clawed boots hitting the floor and she tries to pull back while keeping behind cover. She raised a hand as if to motion for Kushiko to stop--even as that feral scream begins to roll out of her. A shriek is a conservative way to put this sort of noise.

Ferham's electromag whip is longer and lacking the large shock tassels of the Lecta, but it's glowing pink body would have a similar effect as she cracked it out in front of her--trying to warn or push Kush back moreso than to strike her--though if she got too close...

Ebon Ribbon (903) has posed:
Ebon Ribbon seems unafraid to meet Kazuko's charge. She rears up and swings her horn, parrying Kazuko's strike with her forehooves. She doesn't want to take a hit to her lovely horn! The equine is pushed back by the impact, leaving twin furrows in the ground where her hindhooves dug in. "Hmph. Why should ponies be happy? The worlds are full of cruelty and prejudice, and predators such as myself are shunned simply because of what we must do to survive!" the dark pony retorts.

Those ribbons lash out again, this time forming a swirling barrier of negative energy as Ebon moves to block the door from both Kazuko and X. "Taro! Leave these two to me! Secure the items we came here for!" she says as she stands there, a living blockade to try and give her ally more time. As her neon purple ribbons swirl around her, they lash out every now and then, attempting to strike Kazuko or X and drain their energy as well as leave some minor damage from being whipped.

X (967) has posed:
What in the world is THIS?! X is momentarily distracted, glancing off to the side to see... a PONY of all things, with MAGIC RIBBONS?! ... That at least looks like a better challenge for a girl without any armor. He can just be -slightly- relieved... maybe a tad.

Because the Robot he's now facing is of completely unfamiliar make. Some Reploid-like design, but NOTHING he's seen around Arcadia. For the briefest of moments X seems just as shocked and confounded as Taro!

    Then his gaze hardens some.

"Breaking into this warehouse was the first big mistake!" He contests accusingly. Although his arms are lowered, his right hand blurs with shifting energy plates, rearranging into the X-Buster configuration. But... at least he isn't raising it.

"......" A quick few scenarios run through his head. He SHOULD try and apprehend this robot... but a fight in the warehouse is NOT ideal. Who knows what might explode if mishandled?!

"Drop whatever you came for and leave with your friends and we'll leave things at that. Nobody's been hurt yet!"

Then there's this AWFUL clatter nearby from Ferham and Kushiko clashing... and Ebon Ribbon vs Kazuko...

    X winces.

"Much..." He's starting to grimace rather angrily.

"Because the other option is we disarm you and turn you over to the local authorities the hard way, and everyone loses!"

Kushiko has posed:
Meanwhile, something.. curious might be seen, if someone is paying attention; a drone--specifically a Sentinel. Codenamed Helios, the robotic drone serves one purpose, aside from occasionally using salvaged items to thoroughly smash things that draw too close.

And that's to scan individuals and enemies into the Codex. For visual review, and when possible, occasionally take down combat statistics on more essential elements. Taro was one of these individuals scanned, as were any of those elves if it could get a decent bead on them.

As to her colors, Kushiko has her preferences. Not that anyone knows who--or what--is behind this.. Warframe. Yet.

The voidinfused 'frame makes no gesture at first. A combat stance, unmistakably, one of incredible discipline and on guard. Taking measure of her? Difficult to say.

Broken War is momentarily held to one side in this steadied stance of the Crimson Dervish. It was then however that she thrust her freehand forward--launching with terrifying speed a grappling hook tethered by a cord of solid energy to, if Ferham doesn't try to get out of the way, she might find herself yanked into an upclose and personal encounter.

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
A pony that can actually parry a naginata. The multiverse sure is an amazing place! Not that Kazuko should really be gawking at Ebon Ribbon, though, what with the threat to her immediate safety and those of the people in the town (probably). "Because... Even if things are hard and things suck in a lot of places, you can't just be unhappy all the time!" The martial artist pushes forward with her weapon some more before drawing it back and retreating several yard when those ribbons come lashing out with that barrier.

"But who's shunning you? They're wrong for doing that, too!" She gives that naginata a twirl before charging for Ebon Ribbon once again, leaving X to deal with that unfamiliar robot. Not that any of them are really familiar at all, but...

... Yes. Unfortunately for the martial artist, her only method of attack necessitates getting in close. That means going close to the negative energy barrier. That means trying to get around those ribbons! Even with her amazing speed and swinging the naginata at the ribbons, she's not quite fast enough to evade all of them as they lash out, getting more of her energy drained before retreating and trying again. And again. And again. And again.

Kazuko clearly isn't the strategic one here.

Ferham (516) has posed:
That spider-man-esque grappling hook is thrown out with overwhelming force, attaching to the shoulder-pauldron of Ferham's armor and she's pulled right out of her whip-bearing stance. The cord of the whip retracts back into the handle for the time being as it was only really extended when held taut or struck. There is a look of legitimate surprise in Ferham's green eyes as she's pulled and is suddenly quite up close and personal with the Valkyr. Well this is... awkward.

Ferham reaches up and attempts to push herself away from Kushiko, while avoiding the weapons she has bared. Ferham's own black bird-clawed gloves are used in defense.

Ebon Ribbon (903) has posed:
Ebon and Kazuko clash several times before Ebon realizes...she has the reach advantage! The pony smirks. "They are wrong for doing that. But, they are not going to stop. And I can see your attempts for what they are. You simply wish me to back down so you might stop my comrades. But, I do not abandon my allies."

The next time Kazuko starts to rush in, Ebon...pulls in her ribbons and sidesteps, expecting Kazuko's momentum to carry her off balance and right into a web of ribbons awaiting the martial artist. If Kazuko hits the ribbons, she would quickly find herself coccooned in their glowing, draining embrace. With all five ribbons encircling Kazuko, the energy drain would be rather severe. "Mmmm...you have so much energy." the dark pony says, licking her lips like a predator savoring the moment before a kill. "I will enjoy draining every drop from you."

Kushiko has posed:
The tail of the Valkyr Gersemi flicks slightly as muscles cord, hidden within the armored auspices of the frame itself. Deft is her maneuvering, she's not necessarily /looking/ at Ferham which may prove eerie, though the optics on the Warframe are useful in regards to the Tenno's combat skills.

And as close and awkward as it was, her own body twisting slightly as her Broken War is clipped to her back, reaching for Ferham's wrist to yank her around and over to complete that initial yank--Ferham may get her wish if the Valkyr succeeds in her attempt to reverse Ferham's effort to push her away; more specific to use the energetic momentum provided by the Rip Line's forceful yank to send Ferham flying!

.. Least for now, the current weapon she was wielding is on her back one way or another. There's a sense one is being tested. A measure of precision. Based on Ferham's reaction, the fight may be over in a far different way.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa now looks down TAro for a moment as she's moving in after here. HE speaks of not wnating to cause pointless damage but she's here to stop him, she's going to make ready to move in on Tro and she'll attempt to tackle him while he'd distracted. Maybe she's getting a bit more eager than timid these day she's got a good deal of mass, but she's also expoosed that she's here with how she's moving nad Taro could walys be too fast for her.

Taro (399) has posed:
On that point both he and his opponent seem to be in agreement: This warehouse is no place for a battle with plasma and bolters. His brow furrows, but he offers neither neither anger nor contempt in response to X's words.
Then Ebon interrupts with words of her own, along with those powerful magical ribbons of hers. The combined effect shakes him free of whatever memories were holding him there, and his beam sabre's blade dissipates with a snap-hiss. "I'll take a third opt--"
The rest of his sentence is abruptly cut off as one hefty mass of cyborg charges him with the poise and effectiveness of a American football lineman. There's a clang as he barks the back of his head on the metal step. Then, with a grunt that's more annoyance than effort, he moves to bring both of his feet in and under her in an attempt to kick her off.
Provided he can wrest himself free of Kotone, he'll vanish in a flash of a (obvious to X at least) teleport.

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
"Well... They should! But just because they're doing wrong stuff doesn't make it any better for you to be stealing this..."

What /are/ they trying to steal, anyway? Even Kazuko's not sure! But stealing is bad, so that makes this dark pony bad, right? But if she's only... Kazuko shakes her head to get her mind back on track, focusing on the only thing that matters right now: Fighting her opponent with everything she's got! Although she does realize that Ebon Ribbon does indeed have that range advantage, what can she actually do to get around it?

Get in even closer, perhaps? If she can just break through that defense, she might be able to get some real hits in! Unfortunately, that seems to have been the pony's plan all along, and the martial artist gets baited in rather easily. Possibly, even moreso than she would have if she wasn't so fast or aggressive. She screams out in pain before finding her energy leaving her rather quickly, draining even faster as she tries to struggle her way out with brute force.

     It's not going very well.

Ferham (516) has posed:
The almsot feature-less face of the Valkyr Warframe is a bit unnerving, to be fair--Fer wasn't used to this style of robotics, at all--her body trying to twist and pull away from the other fighter as she's seemingly tossed. Well, more like sent flying, a state that Ferham isn't exactly new to, though as she's sent head-first and thoroughly off-guard into a wall, well, one can say she's not expecting that!

"Oof... you're pretty strong, for your design," Ferham picked herself up and focused her gaze on the Valkyr before firing a surge of ice at her--which rippled across the floor as she raised her arms, and would try to socket the frame's legs to the ground!

X (967) has posed:
When the Beam saber's disengaged, flecks of relief show on X's face. NOT having to fight? AWESOME. "Third optio--" CLAAAAANG!

Welp. There goes Kotone. Shocked by this development, X hesitates for just a BIT too long before diving towards the tumbling mess. And just as he's about to reach them... FWOOOOIP!

    Off goes Taro!

    Leaving X wide-eyed.

All he can do is make a nonsensical balking noise in protest at this development. Then... "He could have sliced you in half!" The Reploid template exclaims Kotone's way. WHY does she keep putting herself in harm's way when he's trying to put himself on the front lines first...?

    He doesn't get it.

"No helping that. He teleported out. The others need our help!"

So he goes charging out of this room and over elsewheres. This does have him barreling towards Ferham and Kushiko's clash...

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
he security forces don't /dare/ actually start shooting into the warehouse for fear of causing some kind of cataclysm. Fortunately, the people who built the base have thought of such contingencies. They're not usually enacted because it's much easier to access the materials without them on. The vehicles and men of the security forces are waiting outside in a semi-circle, for something to happen.
Flashing warning lights flicker on as 'containment protocol gamma' is enacted. Demonic red and yellow lights flicker alternately with each other, washing the entire warehouse in strange light patterns. It might be hard to see what is going on now, but the clattering of shutters is heard as the shelves and units are sealed up to prevent easy access or stray shots from damaging their contents.
"Cleared to go." comes over their radios. The better equipped security forces begin moving cautiously towards the warehouse now, not entirely certain of what they face within now.

Kushiko has posed:
Ice, and for what it's worth, tended to suck. True vacuum was something that the Warframe itself couldn't quite deal with on it's own. She attempts to roll to the side out of the way--it avoids the worser part oof being completely locking her down to the ground but still coats her in a sheen of ice up to her hips. Flakes of ice seeming to interact with the shielding for a few moments, a slight *pop* sound as they begin to resurge, albeit more slowly.

Whatever shields she has are token at best. But despite the slowing effect the ice may have, Valkyr betrays no sign of distress over it. Armoring, perhaps? It would have to be SUPER dense and efficient given the figure she cut.

Her tail flicks back and forth slightly, energy cutting the shape of a long-looking heavy pistol, firing off a quick pair of shots at Ferham--corrosive, explosive ammunition upon contact that could cause one hell of a knockdown. It might resemble a long pistol, but it's closer to a shortened lever action rifle--that's more easily carryable (and in this case, able to be wielded with one hand) and packing incredible power. So much that even with whatever strength she wields, the gun goes back a good 45 degrees before she fires another shot, the recoil is that intense.

Because after those shots, she backflips towards a point, launching herself into the air and towards the nearest wall, in order to momentarily cling to it, with her Vaykor Marelok trained at Ferham in anticpation of the next possible maneuver.

Ebon Ribbon (903) has posed:
"How have we -not- secured the supplies?" Ebon exclaims as she holds Kazuko in her ribbons. She was expecting Taro to have it by now. He is the one that rushed inside after calling -her- impatient! She steps inside the warehouse as the alarms go off again. And then, the items are all encased in what looks like very sturdy shielding. The dark pony sighs in exasperation, then talks into her radio. "This was supposed to be a quick smash and grab." she grumbles as she starts down one of the aisles, dragging Kazuko with her.

The energy ribbons are quite sturdy. They are not indistructible by any means, but have all the strength of silk cloth. And with several streamers wrapped around Kazuko, she will have a difficult time stretching or breaking them by sheer force.

Ferham (516) has posed:
The Valkyr would likely feel the chill and the danger it represented, especially to a Tennou's cyborg body and living tissue--though she seems to have avoided the brunt of the freezing stream that had tried to seal her to the floor.

"You're pretty fast, I don't think I can keep up with you," Ferham's tone was a bit teasing, as if she was making light of this. This time however when the rifle is aimed at her, Ferham is steady on her heels and vaults into the air--her wings flaring out as she lifts into the air--the blast of corrosive shiz exploding beneath her. The second shot causes her some legitimate alarm, however--her green eyes widening before she attempts to veer to the side to avoid that second shell--she seems like she's quite alarmed, at this stage!

"Argh, damnit, I hope Taro has gotten clear," she flicks her whip a few times back down at Kushiko, before trying to hover closer to the skylight she'd come through, apparently trying to bail.

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa maybe should have thought things out clearer, As she tackld Taro. She did get a good hit in on him but it's not playing out as she hoped. She struggles with Taro for a moment but he's too much for her to hang on to as he gets lose of her grip and she nearly gets even worse for it. She could have got cleaved but she didn't she mutters looks to X. "I had to do something." With that she's going to move out to try and go help out where she can as well, as she cloaks again and moves to go help Kazuko.

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
For all of Kazuko's struggling, she's not really making much, if any progress on freeing herself from those bindings at all. Most of her energy has already been sapped, and it's hard enough for the girl to stay conscious. It takes a while for her to even register that Ebon is pulling her along!

"You won't... Get away with this..." She murmurs weakly, trying to wriggle her way out and even biting one of those streamers for lack of anything else to attempt. Her hands certainly aren't going to do it, but maybe tearing...? Or at least a light chewing. At the very least, she's certainly providing quite a bit of energy for the pony to draw from.

Kushiko has posed:
It might be odd, for some. No answer comes from the frame. No sound, at least at first.. the ice was a terrible bother. Things that slowed one down--the organic component to the frame, was typically not a very good thing at all. Slowed reaction times and the like could mean the difference between life and death.

<Let her go. But let's make ourselves known.>

That voice was only for one. Unheard by any other, Valkyr responds to the whip itself by launching herself away from the wall itself, /rolling/ midair before landing back into a safer spot. And then.. then she howled. It was a feminine voice. A voice that raged against an ancestral wound in primacy--even those who are not of flesh and blood could /feel it/ across the warehouse itself.

Hysteria.

Energy wreathed her, a convocation of lilac-pink energy sparks and trails that radiated from her form--her forearms bore four sets of three energy spines each, floating just above the limbs from in angled placements parallel to one another. Solid energy extended from each of, and through her fingertips as she hunched over from her cry.

Then.. then she rose. Rose and flexed those savage, feral claws at Ferham, first and foremost.

                 FLEE NOW.

Unvoiced was the sentiment; no, this was /felt/. It wasn't one of confidence, so much as it was hunger. She had recognized that Ferham did not desire further combat. There was no honor in continuing it further.

She was beginning to turn her attention towards Ebon at this point, but not until Ferham departed.

Ferham (516) has posed:
Ferham was trying to hightail it, more or less, she didn't want to get incapacitated by getting shot with one of those exploding, corrosive laced shells. She rose through the skylight, kicking her gravitic flight engine into high-ear as she kept on building speed--trying to clear the building's exit and get herself out of there. She'd have to inquire about Taro later. And her other comrades. Grr, she felt like a sap for having to run like this, but she'd rather flee now than go back in there with that enraged Valkyr. Time to make like a ham and leave!

Ebon Ribbon (903) has posed:
Ebon Ribbon smirks lightly as Kazuko continues to struggle. "Little human, I always get away." she says as she keeps Kazuko tied up. Kazuko's struggles continue to prove ineffective against the ribbons, even the biting earns only a slight shimmer through the ribbon. If only Kazuko had a sharp weapon...

But, as Ferham makes a run for it and Taro is apparently downed by X and Kotone, Ebon finds herself alone with security forces closing in on her and at least three elites to deal with. She hmms, then turns to look at Kazuko. "Apologies, little human, but I am afraid I must do something distasteful."

Ebon moves to the center of the warehouse, beneath the skylight, with Kazuko held in front of her like a shield. "Attention all of you defenders and do-gooders! It is unfortunate that it has come to this, but I must insist that you give me a crate of those superconductors in exchange for the return of this cute little human girl. If you comply, she will be returned exhausted but unharmed. If you do not...I may have to permanently harm her. This offer is time sensitive, as my powers are not exactly controllable. Once she is out of energy, there is nothing I can do."

Kari Wolf (276) has posed:
By this time the security forces have made their way into the warehouse and are clearing the thing aisle by aisle. This is evident from the radio chatter that's audible through the warehouse. They finally come across Kazuko and Ebon, and the hostage situation. There's a moment as the security forces wait for command's answer.
"Let the school girl go and you won't be harmed." That seems to be the extent to which they're willing to negotiate at this point. The erstwhile negotiator continues. "You'll be allowed to leave. You will not be followed. If you keep hurting the girl, then we'll shoot."

Kushiko has posed:
Uncontrollable powers. Sounds.. familiar. Feels familiar. Yet as willing as Valkyr was about to leave, allowing that delicious feeling of rage and anger to flood her sense of being, Ebon had to make that declaration. A shame one of the other Warframes wasn't here, was a thought.

But it was a thought that was quickly banished due to the nature of a hostage. It pleased her, in an odd way, that the UniSec were unwilling to negotiate beyond de-escalation. But the nature of the hostage also displeased her, severely. So much so that instead of staying where she was.. she moved. A silent kind of vault over as she simply /bolted/ downwards.

And what happened next was.. possibly terrifying for those not expecting something so quiet, so silent to descend from above via one of the elevated walkways. Those claws came down in a flurry of strikes, energy being bled and streaking in a wild pattern.

Though, if one is unlucky enough--or lucky--one might simply glance up to see the featureless head of Valkyr, energy wreathing off of her, or felt, enough to get away before she shreds it. Either way, the visage of the Warframe may well be quite intimidating!

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa is cloacked but does not assume she's not been noticed is now not sure what she cna do here for situation with Ebon Ribbon and Kazuko, she curses her self as she attempts to move in and gets an idea, she'll make to act after the hostage is handled.

Ebon Ribbon (903) has posed:
Ebon Ribbon lets out an annoyed groan as the security forces declare what she basically expected. She glares at the gathered officers. "Well...I have little choice, then. I am not a killer by nature, and there is no reason to take this young girl's life." she says. She starts extending a ribbon upward. "But, I will keep her until I am-"

Then, Valkyr strikes. Ebon knew that the strange mechanical thing was there, but with her attention on the troops she didn't realize the Valkyr had descended until it was far too late. Ebon is suddenly caught in a storm of slashing energy claws and frightening visages. Ebon considers herself an apex predator, and has little fear when it comes to facing things. But, the burning gaze of the armored person actually gets to her. The unicorn cries out in fright before her features harden into hatred. As she reels herself upward with her ribbon, she lashes out with newly formed ribbons. They aren't serious attacks, just the last attacks of a startled predator making a run for it.

Once on the roof, Ebon Ribbon makes a break for it and leaps from the roof over the fence and gallops at full speed to get away. She doesn't look back, since if she is being pursued looking back will just slow her down.

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
Kazuko lets out a pained groan as she's freed from her binding, laying there for several moments while regaining her bearings. Groaning as she finally musters up enough strength to push herself up off the ground, the martial artist looks rather dejected. Not only did she get used as a hostage, actively contribute to nearly botching up the defense, but she even got beaten by a magical pony... Unicorn... Person!

That's definitely not going to give her some issues to work out. Not until she gets her rematch with Ebon sometime, anyway. Kazuko keeps her gaze focused on the ground before managing a forced smile at Kushiko, Kotone, and X. "Eheh... Sorry, everyone. I kinda... Screwed that up bad, huh?"

At least her clothes seem to be intact. She didn't even take much clothing damage during the fight!

Kushiko has posed:
In the immediate aftermath, that eyeless helmet is seemingly focused on Ebon as much as she might be tearing those ribbons apart. As if to drive home that, in a very predatorial fashion, she is watching. Some.. /thing/ is watching. It's a flash of an instance that whatever this thing is, it's grossly unlike anything that's been in the 'verse. But that moment passes as soon as it arrives.

But her attention changes; for a few moments, Valkyr simply extends their hand. A cloudy mist spills forth from that hand towards the fallen Kazuko. Void energy; in this case it's far more palatable to Elite life. Revivification in a sense. It'll feel /really weird/ but it'll at least be a temporary boost until she has time to properly rest and such. Stabilization.

Though after she's produced that energy, that greenish tint coloring it not withstanding, she ceases channeling that delicious furor of Hysteria, energy claws fading within an instant as she no longer is nearly as hunched over as she was.

As to whether or not she screwed up, Valkyr, as before, says nothing. A ship arrives; the Liset landing craft approaching the side of the warehouse's roof as she fires a grapping hook and hurtles out the way she came; through the skylight and heads back to her stepping into the recess before it folds her back into the ship to depart the scene once more.

...well, that was a thing, wasn't it?

Kotone Yamakawa has posed:
Kotone Yamakawa Shrugs at X for a moment "Things happen. Don't let your self we're alive right?" She tilts her head a little bit and she looks to KAzuko to try and lend her a hand. Your alive and didn't end up badly injured you did better than me a long time ago, trust me on that."

Kazuko Kawakami (942) has posed:
Kazuko withdraws just a bit when she notices Valkyr reaching towards her, although she relaxes once she realizes the Tenno doesn't have any hostile intent in that motion. She even blinks in confusion at that rejuvenating Void energy, although it's clear from Kazuko's frown that she's still feeling somewhat conflicted about being shown even that amount of kindness. "Eh? Uh... Thanks, miss. You're..."

And then Valkyr takes off with a grappling hook. The martial artist stares at that rather strange exit before turning to Kotone, even managing a light chuckle. "Really? That's... That's good to hear, then. I'll do better next time, then!"

She almost sounds convinced of that herself, even! Almost.

As Kazuko starts heading towards the exit herself, she notices some curious shifting in her clothes. Or around it, rather, as strands of the gym uniform start coming off in ribbon-like strands, leaving only strategic scraps of clothing around to keep the girl even barely modest. Curiously enough, they might even match the shape of the cuts that a certain Valkyr had made earlier... Not that she had anything to do with it, right? Right.

There's a long pause as Kazuko's brain registers what just happened, then some panicked screaming as she BOLTS right out of that facility. Reports may come in later about a brunette streaking through the entire town, but surely that's got nothing to do with her!

This day really couldn't get any worse, could it?
