Red vs Green
Date of Scene: 14 August 2014
Location: Njorun Station - Ring of Philosophy
Synopsis: Noble Six's training session is interrupted by an explosion. It's Power Ranger vs SPARTAN in a close quarters combat training session.
Cast of Characters: 38, Ziggy Grover

Ziggy Grover has posed:
Wandering about the enormously -huge- complex with the assistance of his assistant (Ziggy refused to dignify calling a girl younger than him his 'Mentor') relaying information through the communicator on his rev morpher, Ziggy can't help but marvel. "I'm just glad I was able to barter something for a few energy cells and convert it to your specifications."

On the other end, Doctor K rolls her eyes. That Ranger Green was a talker, she knew. That he was constantly talking to -her- was something else. "Take a right. You're in dire need of more training, and that someone pointed you towards the right direction... he was doing the multiverse a favor."

"Oh come on, Doc... I've got moves you've never seen before."

"If they're anything similar to how you teleport, I never want to see them."

Ziggy can't help but crack a grin, as he turns into the building. What was it the swordsman had called it? Oh well, it couldn't be that bad, and Doctor K was right, he -needed- more training. As it was, he had the grace of a hippo in a tutu when fighting grinders.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
At the moment, the Ring of Philosophy, so named because of reasons Noble Six doesn't really care to understand, is in use, the SPARTAN having set up an obstacle course. A live fire obstacle course. Sentry turrets at strategic points in the arena track their target, the red armored soldier, as she charges through the course.

Bullets tear up a peice of cover as she slides behind it. She hunkers down, taking a moment to curse that she wasn't fast enough to avoid taking any hits. If it wasn't for the armor's shields, she'd have been toast. She can't depend on them, though. She has to get better. She waits for the gun to spin down, as the barrel cools, and then rolls out from behind the cover. She hits the next obstacle in the course, in which two holographically generated Covenant Elites emerge in front of her and begin to fire their plasma weapons. She throws a grenade between them, and then after it goes off, takes them both down with headshots from her pistol, before moving on to the next stage.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"Whoa, there's a Red Ranger," Ziggy whistles, as he watches the ongoing proceed. "You getting this?"

"No, I'm just listening. You'd have to be wearing the suit so that I can access the suit's visuals," Doctor K responds in a dry tone that implied that Ziggy was extremely stupid for even asking such a question.

"Oh right. Give me a minute," Ziggy responds.

"Wait..."

Swinging his arm around and then flashing the morpher in front of him, Ziggy exclaims, "RPM! GET IN GEAR!"

One animated suit-morphing later, complete with GIANT DISTRACTING EXPLOSION BEHIND HIM...

"... you're going to distract the Ranger doing that," Doctor K finishes, with an exasperated sigh.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Large distracting explosions outside of the combat area can be a cause for alarm, as Six stops short of entering the next area when it goes off. She turns and looks only to find Ziggy in his power suit. She hrms and moves away from the entrance to the next obstsacle, "Computer, pause program." She says, as the holograms stop moving. The gun turrets are real enough, but the light on them turns green to indicate safe mode, as she heads towards him.

"You alright? What was with that explosion?" She's not sure how he wasn't hurt, being that close to a blast that size. The shockwave alone should have given him a concussion.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"That explosion...? You know, I've asked Doctor K that question a lot..." Ranger Green begins, waving his arms back at where the explosion was, as though he were trying to clear a particularly noxious emittance. "She keeps saying it's a necessary evil, like clearing the suit's processing of the bio-electric field."

"That is precisely what it is," Doctor K responds, though Noble Six isn't going to hear her unless she tunes into the Ranger frequency.

"Anyway, don't mind me," Ranger Green replies, waving his hands in front of him, and then beckoning back to the program. "I was just directed here so that I could train a bit. I'm still new at this Power Ranger business. I've been getting the one-liners down pat, so now I'm working on the moves. Get a load of this..."

With his hands on his hips, Ranger Green takes a deep breath...

... and proceeds to a display of martial arts that would be far more aptly described as a 'scarecrow on fire'. Which is to say... flailing and kicking randomly in the air.

Stopping for breath, Ranger Green asks, "So how was that?"

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"That was...Something." Noble Six replies, "Well, why don't you take a stab at my course? Or we could spar. I could show you a couple of maneuvers if you want." She motions to the course, "I consider myself an expert in hand-to-hand combat.." She's no Solid Snake, though. Some day, maybe.

She hasn't tuned to the Ranger frequency because she's not quite sure it exists yet. But if it's an open frequency her armor would pick it up. It was always a great way to eavesdrop on unsecured enemy communications or the Covenant battle net.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"Oh, I'm... well, it does look like it may be above my pay grade..." Ranger Green begins, before Doctor K speaks up, this time on a frequency that's easy enough to pick up. "Please do. As you have no doubt observed, Ranger Series Operator Green has quite a long way to go. As his mentor..."

"Excuse me, excuse me, you're -younger- than me, you cannot call yourself a mentor...!"

"As his MENTOR, I would recommend putting him through his paces. He's received the morpher through a series of circumstances best left unmentioned, and as a result, is quite poorly prepared for his role."

"Hey, I resent that! I've been working on my one-liners!" Ranger Green responds.

"Hand to hand combat would be -excellent-," Doctor K simply keeps talking as though Ziggy hadn't spoken at all. "Also, I am informed that I should do my best to be more polite. Traditionally, one provides names at introductions. I am K. I am the mentor to these Power Rangers. This is..."

Ziggy perks up, anticipating his name might actually be -used-.

"... Rangers Series Operator Green."

"Wh-what...? It's ZIGGY!"

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"One liners are still an important skill to have." Six says, as she looks at Ziggy but hears the voice of the doctor, "So I take it she's the one behind these suits? She seems pretty proud of them." Six says, "And I remember you from the other day, Ziggy." Six hmms, "I can definitely show you some stuff, and I won't hurt you, you have my word."

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"See, I knew it! What's the point of being heroes to thousands if you can't sound -heroic- doing it?" Ranger Green crows, putting his hands to his hips.

One could almost -feel- the intensity of the desire of Doctor K to head-desk. "Do not encourage him," Doctor K replies. "In any case, you may commence with your demonstration of combat skills. We shall see how quickly Ranger Green learns."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"Alright, Doctor." Noble Six replies, "Computer, change program to Noble Six Alpha Three Tango Niner." The room shifts, the obstacle course fading away and being replaced with what is best described as an MMA octagon. The caged fighting area surrounds the two of them, "Do you want the crowd on or off?"

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"Either way works! Although..." Now Ranger Green looks a bit nervous as he scouts the scene. "So, it's just straight-up combat?"

"What Ranger Green is trying to say," Doctor K interjects, "... is that his fighting style is unorthodox, and relies a great deal on what he calls improvision."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"I see." Six says, "Computer, change of plans. Change to program Four Delta Five Five." The scene shifts again, this time leaving the two of them in a cityscape. It's impossible to tell where this city is, just that it's a human city and it's very...City-ish, "Better?" Noble Six asks, as she looks around at the scenario that surrounds them.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"Wow, this is spectacular," Ranger Green replies, helmeted head turning eery which way before it's drawn back to Noble Six. "Thank you very much!"

Of Doctor K, there was nothing heard from. Just, apparently, the sounds of fingers typing on the keyboard.

"I think she's busy analyzing things. So... what do I need to do? Warm-ups?" Lifting his arms up in bending position and flexing his body this way and that way, Ranger Green looks back at Six. "How'd you get into the Ranger business anyway?"

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Six turns and steps away from him a bit, as he stretches and flexes, "I'm not a Ranger, at least...I guess not in the way you're thinking." She says, "I'm a SPARTAN-III." And yes that's all capitalized. There's an emphisis on the word.

"But if you want to know how I got into this business, I can give you the details, if you really desire them." She waits for him to be ready to spar, as she mentally readies herself.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"Oh definitely! Learning about the way things work is a good start for anywhere you go. Whether it's the Cartels, the Power Rangers, or anyone else..." Ranger Green says as he flexes his knees, and then strikes what looks to be his version of a starting stance, hands in front of him. And then he starts running forward. "Hyyaaaaaiiii!"

Yes, definitely not someone used to combat, because there had to be a zillion openings in -that- ridiculous charge.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"Very well." Six says, as she watches him charge towards her while yelling. She doesn't want to hurt him, so she's not going to go out of her way to do anything that might harm him. Instead she shifts her weight as he gets near her, and puts a hand on his back to push him away from her, deflecting his momentum towards a car that is parked nearby.

"When I was six years old, my family was murdered in front of me by an alien species. My whole home world was turned into a ball of glass by them."

Ziggy Grover has posed:
Oh, his momentum was definitely headed towards the car, but one thing had to be said for Ranger Green... he -could- twist and weasel with the best of them. Comes of being forced to run for his life quite a lot, judging by the way he twisted to slam his back into the car. "That's... actually, not too far off from my story, I guess you could say. Except that part about the ball of glass."

The suit definitely seems to be enhancing his reflexes, by the way he uses his hands to brace against the car's windowjamb up onto the top of the car. "So you're out to prevent what happened to your world from others, then? Or have you vowed Blood Vengeance against the alien spiecies?" Striking a pose that seems almost like a crane kick attempt for all of about one millisecond, Ranger Green leaps off into a cartwheel, landing on the ground and doing that -charging- move again. What was this, his version of a shark attack?

Noble Six (38) has posed:
He's rushing at her again? He really should come up with another tactic. Still, he might have something up his sleeve. She shifts her weight a little bit to move away from him, without laying a hand on him this time, trying to dodge and juke around, "After I got off world, I was picked up by the government, and they recruited me into a special program."

Six decides to go after him with an attack of her own, waiting until he gets within range and sweeping her leg out after him, trying to take his feet out from under him and sweep the leg.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
It was one of those -courage- things! Always going in headfirst! Even if it wasn't normal for him. Still, once Ziggy Grover committed to doing something, he was doing it. Of course, he does, once he gets close within range, start to dodge.

But the sweeping of the leg causes him to fall, land on his chest, and roll onto his back, rubbing his chest. "Ow ow ow... HEY!" Because if she was following up her move, he was lashing out with a foot and then trying to leap back onto his feet. At least he was agile enough, and the suit definitely was enhancing his movements, that much was clear.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Six tries to move out of the way as he leaps back up to his feet, but he's a lot faster than she expected, "Those suits, they enhance your abilities, yes?" She steps back away from him, "Against an opponent that's larger than you, speed can definitely be an important advantage...But charging headlong at them isn't the best move." She motions to the side, "Use things in the environment to distract your opponent as you approach."

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"That's what I usually do!" Ranger Green replies, as he swings towards the car, waiting until Six approaches, before trying to fling the car door open.

It, of course, was locked.

"WHO LOCKS THEIR DOOR?!" Ranger Green cries out, before ducking, and trying to crawl underneath the car.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"Of course...If you have the strength to do so.." Six says, as she reaches down and grabs the undercarriage of the vehicle, and digs in her armored fingers, "Then you should use it to your advantage." She can, and has, flipped a tank with her bare (so to speak) hands, and so she lifts the car up from where he's hiding under it, and tosses it towards a nearby storefront.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"Oh wonderful! Doc! What're you doing...! She's -really- strong!" Ranger Green calls out, crawling quickly enough till he can stumble back onto his feet.

"I am merely collecting information on your particular exercise, Rangers Series Operator Green," Doctor K responds emotionlessly. "Perhaps if you spent less time dodging and more time doing hand-to-hand...'

"Are you kidding? Look at her suit! If I tried to punch that, I'd do more damage to my hands than anything!"

"Then use your axe. I'm certain she'd have no objections to that, no, Miss... Six?"

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"No, by all means. Use whatever weapons you have at your disposal. I am also trying to gauge your abilities. Analyze weaknesses and help you to patch them." She smiles, though he can't see it behind the helmet, "So show me this axe of your's."

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"All right, you asked for it!" Slapping the blaster on his waist, Ranger Green holds up the morpher as it morphs into a giant axe. And then up he goes, onto a nearby fire hydrant. "And let's see how much pressure you can take!"

And Ranger Green brings his axe down onto the fire hydrant's front end, cleaving it through...

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The water from the hydrant bursts free, spraying right at Noble Six. She brings up one of her arms to defend herself, but the force of the water reveals her energy shield, which flickers from the impact. It's a good way to reveal one of her strengths that can't be seen normally.

"Very good!" Six says, as she steps out of the water jet, still dripping, "Doctor, tell me something. These suits, how do you get them to deliver that much enhancement without looking like mine?"

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"All right!" Leaping up and down on the hydrant, with surprising balance before slipping and falling off, Ranger Green moans as Doctor K replies. "It's a nano-fiber / intercellular sheet memory alloy mix which allows the user to access the universal electric field all biological beings share. By accessing it, it enhances the user's strength."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Admittedly most of that comes across to Six as technobabble, but she nods her head regardless, "And from what you said earlier, it's locked to an individual user?" She moves over to help Ziggy up, offering a hand to him to try to help him get back to his feet.

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"The morpher is locked to the individual user, yes. Which is necessary to keep the morpher from falling in the wrong hands. Even his," Doctor K responds, as Ranger Green shifts his hands, then taps the morpher, de-razzing back into Ziggy. The gangly-looking young man shakes his head, and takes the hand, leaping back to his feet. "Hey, I had no choice there."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"Well you know, something like that is a big responsibility." Six says, "So as long as you take it seriously, I think you'll do fine." She offers to him, "Doctor K, I hope you gathered the information you needed from this. If you feel like any more training, Ziggy, feel free to ask. There's also a bunch of other folks who would be more than happy to give you pointers, just ask around."

Ziggy Grover has posed:
"It was quite educational. There was some useful data accumulated," Doctor K acknowledges. "Thank you."

Ziggy's mouth drops. "Hey, she thanked you!"

"That will be enough, Ranger Green. Prepare to return home. Preferably with you inside the suit."

Shaking his head, Ziggy leans close conspiratorially. "Between you and me, I think her interpersonal skills -are- improving since I came aboard." With a light chuckle, Ziggy adjusts his jacket, and starts towards the gate. "Bye now!"
