Date of Scene: 05 September 2016
Location: Alberichstadt <P:WTWM>
Synopsis: Ainsley finds Ren after the event in the Mirror Forest and fills him in on what happened while he was asleep, the lazy get.
Cast of Characters: 165, 151

Ren Tanaka (165) has posed:
Much like when Tomoeda was a very important place to stick around in, and much like Amarillo, Ren Tanaka has (and has before in the past) decided that occasionally he should just stay in one city and not leave it for a while.

Since nobody has seen him around after the most recent excursion to the Mirror Forest, and he left with most of his sundry trap-caused injuries only moderately patched up by Rebecca, this may be cause for concern.

Because of everything and the business of it all he hasn't turned off the tracker in his radio, though, which does mean that there's a silent signal that can currently be tracked. It leads to the first floor of a currently abandoned outlet shop in the urban developed city part of Alberichstadt.

Ainsley (151) has posed:
Ainsley eventually shows up to where Ren happens to be. She's got her heavy coat disguise on so that people don't give her too heavy of scrutiny. Oddly, she has hidden her magic book under her coat somewhere, but it makes sense if people know it's her preferred method of summoning her Persona.

Once in the building itself, she looks around for Ren, quiet about it.

Ren Tanaka (165) has posed:
He's not hard to find. If you were around yesterday, you could have looked for the smoke coming out of the skylight.

Whoever was here last left enough stuff lying around for Ren to start a convenient and self-contained fire, which his boots are currently sat next to, dried and lacking Pig teethmarks. There are no leftover torture traps inside either.

Ren himself is sat a short distance away from the now-long-since-over fire, sitting in a meditative position.

All of the clothing damage from everything he went through is still present, but he otherwise appears unharmed.

Ainsley (151) has posed:
Ainsley took the heavy coat off, and set her book nearby when she found Ren sitting there. She steps right over to him, and then kneels nearby. She searches his face only for a second or two, and then says, "Thank you for coming to help me." And then she would reach to place a hand on one of his arms to show a friendly connection.

"Are you okay?" she asks, since he hadn't been too talkative since that night.

Ren Tanaka (165) has posed:
    Ren opens his eyes.

"Ah," he says, "Just the person I was hoping to see," which is one of those things you say when a person walks into the room exactly when you wanted to speak with them and also completely true right now.

He leans onto her hand a little.

"Yeah, I feel fine. Ooh, nobody took my boots either, that's good."

He rolls his shoulders a little and shifts into a sitting position more comfortable than the one he was in before. "So, I missed the end of everything that was going on. Janine had to drag me away after the bells went down, literally actually. Are you okay to talk about what happened in the denouement?"

Ainsley (151) has posed:
    "I am," Ainsley answers.

"After the battle, I gained the power to summon a Persona, since I happened to accept my Shadow... it happened pretty intuitively. Everyone got out safely, no one died, and I'm sure you all ruined the Pied Piper's plans."

"I tested the Persona with August... turns out it isn't the type that fights directly. It hinders people by hitting their emotions with some sort of spell. I think it can boost them the same way. I've got a spell called, uh... 'Tamatebako,' but I don't quite understand what it's supposed to do yet."

She smiles at Ren softly after that. "It's a big goofy turtle man," she adds, because even she thinks that's funny.

Ren Tanaka (165) has posed:
Ren Tanaka smiles. "Excellent." Then, a little irreverantly, "Pied Piper? He was there? Didn't notice. Had more important things to worry about."

He finishes listening to Ainsley. So, like the others, she now has a Persona. That's- "Interesting to know. That means the powers of this world's Mirror Forest can extend to people from outside of this world as well."

Scratches his chin. "Tamatebako is the name of a certain sort of origami, at least if commonality between worlds is true. It's a rather complicated folded cube, whereupon if one face gets unfolded all of the cube falls apart. I could probably make one if I tried."

Ainsley (151) has posed:
"The spell makes some kind of kaleidoscopic mirror appear. I tried it when I had time to," Ainsley tells Ren, shrugging at him after that. "Maybe it's a shield. I can do a lot more if I can actively protect people." She reaches into her coat and pulls out... a sandwich. A breakfast sandwich, wrapped in plastic. She hands it toward Ren and smiles at him.

"I can't open the mirror portals," she explains, "My Persona has a lot of differences. I think I was just a fluke, a weird exception to the rule, not proof that people foreign to that world are likely to get Shadows or a Persona."

Ren Tanaka (165) has posed:
"Hmm. Could you read minds before? Because I was just about to ask if you'd had breakfast already," Ren says with a smile.

Breakfast sandwiches are excellent, even if they're the kind you get from McDonalds.

"I suppose the question now, then, becomes what the meaning of all of this was... eh, it doesn't matter, really."

There are other things he wants to ask- why Ainsley- a person quite unconnected to that kind of faith- was trapped in a cathedral, why he was deluged with torture implements, what on earth all that escoteric babble he heard when he first came in was about- but it doesn't really matter.

"The important thing is, you're safe."
