Motion in the Ocean
Date of Scene: 03 November 2016
Location: Asian Plains
Synopsis: When giant monsters attack Japan, they send a giant robot to fight it. So what does Korea do when a giant monster attacks? Lots of little robots, apparently.
Cast of Characters: 1068, 707, Reina Kinney, 1007, 1010, Shigure, William Pauwel

Hana Song (1068) has posed:
It's all highly scientific and predictive, and a bunch of details that aren't strictly important. The ultimate result of it however is that this location on the coast of South Korea, overlooking the sea, is the most likely place for the bane of Korea's peace to appear. A small coastal town that has already been evacuated, and is now occupied entirely by military equipment: Tanks and a missile truck, officers of all stripes, a handful of VTOL jets occupy a supermarket parking lot.

Oh and all the MEKA robots milling around, sporting various customizations.

The only one not moving about or being tended to by its handler is seated rather than standing, jerking slightly from side to side. Because the occupant, a young Korean woman with brown hair, is busily playing a shooter game on the holographic screen and leaning from side to side as she controls a spaceship through bullet patterns. Her screen is momentarily taken up by an officer starting a briefing, which she quickly minimizes to resume her play.

"The Omnic's been detected moving in this direction. It will make landfall shortly. Our operation will be suppression and destruction. I remind you all that this is an adaptive enemy so do not expect this encounter to be the same as previous."

"So adapt or die, same as usual," D.Va comments, only listening while controlling her space ship, "Snooooore. Same dumb military mumbo jumbo he spouts every time." One eye closes and she pauses her game, glancing up at the sea.

The other eye closing, D.Va tucks the controller away and hauls her machine up into a standing position, trotting down towards the docks and all the parked fishing trawlers. No one else is accompanying her, but she talks-- broadcasting on stream.

"I'm pretty sure it'll pop up in a minute, hang in there guys, we'll make this the best live op stream yet. Nobody else's even movin' up yet, looks like D.Va's gonna punch its big stupid face first."

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
You might think that given the state of affairs in her native iteration of Japan, combined with lingering irritation from her recent exposure to anti-youkai sentiments (and violence) in Ravnica, Xiaomu wouldn't be inclined to go out and get involved in a fight in yet ANOTHER world about which she knows, as yet, relatively little.

What you would be overlooking if you *did* think that is how badly Xiaomu needs to wreck somebody's shit and not get in trouble for it. She can't even lose herself in Dynasty Warriors or Back Alley Brawler or any of her other favorite stress-relievers, because she's supposed to be on standby for immediate deployment in the event that Shinra figures out where Ouma's going next. So with the 'large scale movements' detected off the Korean coast, and the sound of some of her Union allies latching onto the chance to go into action ...

"HIGH SPEED XIAOMU!!!"

... it's really only natural that Xiaomu would come along to pitch in what she's able. She arrives on her lightcycle - tempted to engage the trail-wall, but refraining for two reasons: she doesn't want to impair her allies if it'd mess with their mobility more than with the enemy, and she doesn't want to waste her personal energy reserves unless it'd actually be useful. Since there's no real sign of the presumed hostile yet, Xiaomu slows her lightcycle again as she nears the pink MEKA with the bunny decals - and does a double-take at it; isn't that how D.Va decorated her car in that video stream ... ?

"This where you guys were gonna want some extra help?" Xiaomu calls out, bringing the lightcycle to a full halt and sitting up straighter. "What are we gonna be up against, anyway?"

If that *is* D.Va, Xiaomu will need to introduce herself as a fellow gamer ... but probably later.

Reina Kinney has posed:
Xiaomu doesn't arrive alone as it stands. Also arriving near her is the red-head known as Reina Kinney, who's also riding a cycle of her own, albeit one custom made by GUARDIANS, so that while it may not be a light cycle per se, it still is rather fast and gets Reina where she needs to get to quickly. Her motorcycle has bird-like decals on it to make it more of her own unique style. Of course, there's also the issue of learning to control these things, something Reina is still learning quite a bit. In fact, while Xiaomu brings her cycle to a stop normally, Reina skids a little before coming to a halt, nearly crashing into a nearby building wall.

"Well, I hope I don't get a parking ticket," Reina comments with a slight smirk before looking to Xiaomu and giving a slight nod. "I've had this thing for awhile and yet parking is still an issue for me." She then looks to D.Va and waves a little. "We got a signal from this area. Did you send it?"

Genji Shimada (1007) has posed:
As Xiaomu rounds a corner, she'll see something atop the MEKA that definitely wasn't there if she got a look at a distance. That's about the moment the MEKA dutifully informs its pilot of a heavy foreign object taking up residence atop the thing. Something its sensors read as worryingly technological... but not enough to tag it as an Omnic.

Needless to say, Xiaomu gets a cheerful wave, but it's D.Va herself who receives the verbal greeting from above.

    "Genji is with you."

Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Given the Petras Act, the old members of Overwatch can't really do much out in the open without being chased down by the UN, slapped in irons, and put on trial for violating a legal treaty.

Reinhardt, being Reinhardt, says nuts to that noise, not when Omnics are on the rise.

He missed the mission in Russia, to his great disappointment, but he won't miss this one under any circumstances, not when he can still act. A Union marked transport flies from out a Warpgate, carrying Reinhardt from beneath as he sees the scene ground side. "Looks like there's a big'n headed for the mainland. Where do you want me to drop you, sir?" The pilot asks.

"Drop me while you still can, son, I'll find my way towards the battle itself!" is Reinhardt's response. The pilot hesitates for a moment, before releasing the mag-lock holding Reinhardt's suit onto the dropship.

"Hope you know what you're doing, sir..."

"Not to worry, Herr pilot! Even if I don't make it, IT WAS WORTH IIIIIIT!" The giant knight cackles and howls with glee as he soars like a hippo being dropped from a C130, descending to the ground without an ounce of fear.

    "CATCH PHRAAAAAASE!"

Shigure has posed:
    Hikari Seaport, Launch Bay.

    "Dreadnaught Battleship, Yamashiro. Sortie!"
"Light Aircraft Carrier, Chitose. Heading out!"

The pair step onto the launch ramp, their equipment locking into place, before they're launched out into open water at their top speed. They wheel, falling into line ahead with Yamashiro taking point. They slip through the local Warpgate, emerging somewhere further down the coastline than the predicted emergence point.

    South Korea, Emergence Point.

"Battleship Yamashiro to local forces. We are in position to provide long range fire support and aerial strikes." The pair, to show themselves better, transform to their Ocean Fit-outs, appearing on the horizon as a pair of large blue-white globes of energy, which resolve into the full-sized forms of their original ship bodies.

William Pauwel has posed:
Will is... Already here. Specifically, it looks like he's been hired on as some kind of part-time emergency technician. Turns out that when your skills include 'can fix stuff good,' you can find quite a bit of work out there in the multiverse. As the other Elites cycle in, someone quite obviously covered in machine oil slides out from under one of the many military vehicles scattered around the peninsula. "Boy howdy, whatever this thing is, it must be pretty bad to bring in all of y'all."

Wiping grease from his hands and brow, Will saunters over towards a nearby Box O' Tools and promptly begins filling his pockets. For reasons. They're his tools, anyway, so it's not like he's stealing anything. "So uh. What're we expecting out here, anyway? Last time I was this close to the sea, I uh."

Stitched together the vengeful spirit of a sunken warship made manifest.

But nobody needs to know that.

"A-anyway, they ain't just paying me for my mechanical know-how! I'm here to fight too!" He says, from around the glowing torch of his favorite sidearm. His motorcycle is almost certainly somewhere nearby, too. "I'll do what I can! If y'all need repairs, or anything."

Hana Song (1068) has posed:
"Hm?" The MEKA turns enough for the girl inside to inspect the approaching lightcycle, "Oh, it's a lady with fox ears. Kumiho? Probably not, cute though." In response to Reina, D.Va lifts a hand from her controls, waving dismissively, "Nah, lady, that was probably the emergency announcement, right? The broadcast station sends those out." She tilts her head, glancing upward though unable to see a cyberninja standing on top of the MEKA's hull, "Genji, huh. That name seems familiar. Didn't I stream a game about you a couple months ago?"

The robot turns back out to sea, "That big omnic's come back again. I dunno if it's expecting anything other than MEKA, so you guys'll be a surprise if nothing else." Hands leaving controls again, D.Va shields her eyes from the sun, squinting out to sea, "...Huh. Did they mobilize the navy again? They haven't done that in a while... What kind of ships are those anyway?" Hands lowering, she screws up her face, "Looks old."

    How dreadful.

"Anyway it's a big omnic, comes outta the sea now and then, so we punch it 'til it crawls back in. Haven't been able to destroy it yet-- And that must be it."

Some distance from shore the water starts to stirr up, chunks of metal hauling out, unfurling into spider-like legs. Four legs in all, the machine's main body hauls itself up out of the water with a spray of foam and salt. Various armaments unfurl and fold out along the upper legs and body. Cannons, machine guns, racks of missiles sliding into position. At the very top of the body, an array unfolds and spreads out into a complex radar antenna.

"Here comes a new challenger!" D.Va announces, but just as she leans into her controls, she stops. MEKA leans back and she shields her eyes with her hands again, squinting up into the sky. A bulky, armored humanoid figure falling from the sky. She squints harder, while the screens inside MEKA start calculating its trajectory, then flashing a red indicator suggesting whatever it is will strike the emerging Omnic.

    "Wait, the heck is /that/?"

Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
/THAT/...is Reinhardt Wilhelm. He is about as subtle as a falling meteor, and he seems to be intending to strike this massive Omnic with just as much force. Aiming himself at the Omnic Titan, Reinhardt uses his boosters to adjust trajectory before he can be certain the impact is dead-on.

Hopefully it is, as he's already got his hammer ready and roaring as he winds up for a thunderous strike, like Donar descending from the Heavens above. His strategy on the outset isn't complicated; Reinhardt intends to hit this thing, really, really, REALLY fucking hard.

Genji Shimada (1007) has posed:
"Probably. You know, I almost didn't sign off my likeness for that game. But I'm a fan of the developer. And they told me what they had planned for the final boss." There's a distinctly amused note. "I'm not actually /that/ strong, but I wasn't going to complain."

Still retaining his perch on the MEKA, Genji turns to watch as the creature begins to rise... and something begins to fall. The only response he can give D.Va is a simple sentence.

    "That... is Reinhardt Wilhelm."

It's a name anyone in this world would know, granted. "He will give the Omnic something very distracting to think about. In the meantime, we should get moving. I'm afraid they didn't teach me the secret ninja art of water walking, so you'll have to be giving me a ride."

Shigure has posed:
Yamashiro would probably be insensed if she could hear Hana. As it stands, the 35.6cm turrets begin to rotate into firing position, the battleship turning broadside on to the emerging Omnic. "Lookouts have confirmed the target... load A with smoke for ranging. Load Type 93 Armour Piercing into remaining turrets." The resounding clunk-clanks of the turrets loading resound through the hull of the ship. "Helm, bring us into range for the secondary batteries." The hulking ship begins to move, lumbering up to speed to get into range for the secondaries, as the front most turret reports, hurling the smoke shells out to get the range markings for the remaining turrets.

Chitose remains hung back, elevators lifting planes onto the deck, fairies swarming across the craft and making sure they're armed. The distinct buzzing roar of piston engine aircraft begins to echo across the open water, reverbing off the buildings, as the first planes begin their take-off, lifting into the air and wheeling around onto the Omnic. "First attack wave, second torpedo wave, launch! Third Air and fourth attack wave, begin preparations!"

William Pauwel has posed:
Oh.

Oh wow.

Oh golly gee willickers, that is a big machine. Will's eyes go as big as saucers. It's huge! It has so many weapons! It has SO MUCH TECHNOLOGY. What good would shooting at it do? No! No. There's a better way. A smarter way.

There is ANOTHER 'thunk' of metal on metal attaching itself to the side of Hana's MEKA. "'Fraid I'm gonna need to ask the same favor," Will says from under his OBVIOUSLY A COWBOY hat. "I can't exactly get close to that thing on my lonesome. Y'all mind another passenger?"

Hopefull the MEKA can carry two!

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
"Huli jing," Xiaomu corrects D.Va with a jovial grin. She waves back to both D.Va and Genji, glances upwards as she hears Reinhardt being airdropped ... and then the Omnic starts walking out of the ocean.

For all Xiaomu's initial bravado, as she gets a closer look at the Omnic's size and the weapons arrays it's deploying, she has to admit - at least to herself - that yeah, this is going to be a challenge. She's still willing to bet that the Multiversal forces can do what the locals alone haven't succeeded at - but, well ... she's not about to give away a lack of confidence in being able to pull that off.

Anyway, it seems like they're not going to wait for the Omnic to make full landfall - which is probably just as well; the sage fox may not know what the maximum range is on the Omnic's weapons, but keeping it as far as possible from populated areas is still a pretty good idea. On the other hand, that means Xiaomu needs to get from the shore *to* the Omnic, and D.Va is picking up passengers in a hurry.

D.Va's not driving the only MEKA around, though. Xiaomu revs the lightcycle again and hurries over to one of the other mini-mechs. "Hey, mind giving me a lift across to the fight?" Xiaomu calls out a query as she de-rezzes her lightcycle, sticking the resultant 'baton' into her vest and drawing the Roc's Icebrand. Given an okay, she quickly climbs on and braces herself for the flight ...

She doesn't wait to touch down before she opens fire, though. As soon as she's within range, she begins firing ice-element shots at the Omnic's artillery and sensor array - more the latter than the former, but if she can clog any of its guns or launchers up with ice, all the better not just for Xiaomu but for the rest of the good guys.

Reina Kinney has posed:
Upon seeing the Omnic, Reina's eyes go wider than saucers, and her jaw hangs open for a minute, before she shakes her head back into reality. "Sorry, we'll chat later, OK?" Reina says, before tapping at a few buttons on her wrist device, and then she vanishes... albeit very briefly. She does return a few moments later, albeit not on foot, but in... wait, is that a bird? Is it a plane?

No, it's the Delta Falcon!

The custom made craft piloted by Reina when things get too hectic or some aerial action is needed. Reina's craft comes swooping in quickly with the red-head at the controls. "The falcon has spotted its prey!" She says with an evil grin, aiming at the Omnic with her cannons and firing, sending off several rapid fire bursts of laser gunfire at the Omnic. They're not very powerful, standard ammunition for the craft. The heavier stuff is for later on.

Hana Song (1068) has posed:
The massive Omnic hasn't even had a chance to move before Reinhardt "Germanic Meteor" Wilhelm lands on it with extreme prejudice. His hammer smashes into the radar rig adorning the top of the main body, and with so much inertia he doesn't stop until his feet hit the hull directly. The radar assembly sparks angrily, collapsing to either side in showers of sparks, rendered useless before it could even be utilized.

As a result, when Chitose's aircraft take off, what anti-air fire they receive is minimal. The missiles normally reserved for jets and airborne MEKA can't lock on without a functional radar system, so it must rely on the sensor suites on its machine gun turrets for air defense, sweeping gunfire through the sky. The Omnic starts its approach to shore with long, slow strides, though its main body arsenal swings towards the navy warships. That IS something the missiles can be fired at. One launcher discharges its payload, ten rockets arcing up and then swinging down at the approaching battleship. The other launcher only gets one out, the others fouled by ice buildup.

"Y'know, this is a combat machine, not a taxi," D.Va comments blandly, her eyebrows forming a straight, bemused line when Genji makes his request and Will mag-locks to her robot's side. With a sigh, she admits, "Though it'd be pretty cool if we bring it down before it even hits the beach this time, so let's go for it, huh? We can't let that crazy old man have all the fun!" Boosters on the MEKA's back warm up, then propell the machine into the air.

Mid-flight, D.Va glances directly at the face-cam broadcasting her image alongside the MEKA's first-person view. One hand lifts up and flashes a V-sign alongside a giant grin while she whispers, "Guys are you /seeing this/? Genji and /Reinhardt/, freakin' /superheroes/, on my stream! This is even cooler than that time the devs messed with my game session!"

Raising her voice to be heard again, she announces, "I don't have much booster power, so get off as soon as you can, you two!" Given she has passengers, she doesn't trust MEKA's ability to dodge. instead, the machine sends out a holographic targetting array, and the pilot starts intercepting incoming shots with bursts of laser fire from just above her viewport.

Genji Shimada (1007) has posed:
When his name is mentioned, Genji can't help himself.

He leans over the front, upside-down, so that he's looking right in to the camera feeding D.Va's stream, and waves. "Yo."

It doesn't last long enough to disrupt Hana's piloting, of course. They've got a fight to do. "Don't worry. I just need to get close enough to grab onto a leg. I can do the rest from there." And true to his word, he hangs on steadily until the moment they're in range - and then hops off, vaults again, and suddenly dashes straight forward in a streak of green. The maneuver covers enough ground to put him right on the colossal Omnic's leg, at which point he begins climbing it more nimbly than a mountain goat. On the way up, though, he keeps an eye out for any vulnerable joints, gaps in armor, anywhere he can shove in his shortblade and cut something important. Maybe he can disable a leg.

Shigure has posed:
"AA Crew!" shouts Yamashiro through the hull of her Fit-out. The bristling machineguns along the sides of the superstructure start firing at the incoming missiles. They manage to down a couple, but these move MUCH faster than any aircraft, even the Abyssal jet fighters, so the Battleship gets slammed into by multiple warheads. "Control the fires, gun crew has range. Main battery, Secondary battery. FIRE!" Yamashiro's array of guns all open up, the main cannons firing in a staggered meter down the length of the ship, while the secondaries pour out their own smaller caliber, high explosive shells.

Chitose's first wave begin to dodge around the incoming machinegun fire. This is something they're used to, so only two or three of the twenty-something wing start streaking smoke from incoming fire. The Dive Bombers come in from high above, angling down and dropping their bombs from above, aiming for sections that the melee fighters aren't on, while the torpedo bombers aim their ordinance at the walkers legs, seeking to disable it.

William Pauwel has posed:
J-just because Will isn't famous like some other people here doesn't mean that he's not important too! He tells himself this. Quietly. Very, very quietly. But there are more important things afoot now! There's a giant robot to deal with, and Will's aiming to get in there and do TERRIBLE THINGS to it!

"Yeah, I'll be alright! Y'all just get a bit closer--" Will says as he reels out the grappling line anchored to his arm. He kicks off from the MEKA's side, wheeling through the air like some kind of trapeze artist. The Omnic is a pretty big target, so it's not like he can really MISS his jump, per se!

And really, what kind of self-respecting super robot will shoot a perfectly inoccuous techno cowboy when there are more obvious threats afoot?

He hits the machine's steely torso hard, but his reinforced clothes take care of most of that. But sticking a landing is one thing, trying to find something to grab onto is another. "Nnnng," Will grunts, squeezing tight around the Omnic's chest as he starts to slip. He levers his arm up and around and launches that same grapnel at something, ANYTHING to grab onto.

He's going to need some decent footing if he aims to find a way inside this great big hulk.

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
Xiaomu doesn't really wait for the MEKA whose pilot carried her across to land before she leaps away, twirling and somersaulting through the air as she continues raining down bullets on the Omnic; she's gone guns-akimbo now, Roc's Icebrand in her right hand and Platinum in her left, regular bullets mixing with the elemental shots. While normal bullets wouldn't usually do a lot to a target of the Omnic Titan's size, though? She's super-chilling specific areas as best she can, THEN hitting them with a quick volley of normal bullets. If that's enough to dramatically fracture big chunks of armor plating, great - but even just weakening smaller areas is potentially setting an opportunity up for somebody to capitalize with a really big move.

And it's not just that she's trying to weaken the armor; she's still putting a fair amount of focus into taking out turrets and other guns. The way the battle is shaping up, the Omnic's own body is going to be the battlefield as well as the opposition, so the less firepower it can dish out at them, the better. Still, her twirling somersault through the air does mean she can't focus as much on specific targets as she'd like to, so it's basically seizing opportunities as she gets them.

Then she lands in a crouch, Roc's Icebrand pointed down the barrel of a big turret, and she squeezes the trigger twice before whipping Platinum around to finish emptying that clip, one standard bullet racing down the barrel as though to pack the ice in tighter .... or, y'know, shatter another super-cooled mechanism.

Then Xiaomu is once again in motion, living up to her 'High Speed Xiaomu' catchphrase. An empty clip is chucked at the base of a launcher where it would normally rotate; maybe that obstacle will hinder the machine's aim. She's basically running all over and continuing to shoot at things which are capable of directly threatening her or the other good guys, with little discrimination as to who is who among her allies.

Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Reinhardt might not be experienced in climbing things, but he's definitely determined to not fall off the side of this titanic Omnic. After he makes contact via -falling from the air-, he trashes the radar just through that alone. It should easily turn the tide of this engagement, and he's not gonna let up so easily.

"RAAAGH! DOn't expect me to let go so quickly!" He calls, before he pries himself free, hammer in hand. Reinhardt tries to maintain his balance, which isn't easy given his bulky suit, swaying side to side atop the Omnic titan. He lunges towards a nearby missile pod, trying to swat it out of commission with a swipe of his hammer.

Reina Kinney has posed:
Reina may have the ability to pilot her craft, but she's not a top gun. Even as she tries to dodge, a few shots hit her craft, causing her craft to shake turbulently, and Reina to call out some unsavory language as she takes those hits. "You were just lucky! I'm just warming up!"

Doing a quick sideways spin to regain her steadiness (no jokes about barrels please!) Reina flies in closer and attempts to fire off a missile-like laser projectile at the Omnic before pulling away quickly.

Hana Song (1068) has posed:
"Are those .. planes from a hundred years ago?" A general on the shore lowers his binoculars, then raises them again and sweeps across the origins of those aircraft, and the battleship escorting their mother carrier, "Hnf. Tell Japan we don't need their assistance with this."

"Sir, the Japanese Embassy insists those aren't theirs," is an almost immediate response, "I took the liberty of investigating. They're Multiversal in origin, not local." The officer glances towards his aide, then back out to sea with a tense frown.

Getting onto something so large is fairly easy. Even hanging onto it is less difficult than it looks-- the omnic's surface is far from smooth, with several interlocking plates, joints, and gaps in the armored protection and other components to hang onto even as it moves and takes fire. The armor is clearly intended to take large, heavy ordnance and missiles-- smaller personal weapons have no trouble finding gaps.

Genji's explorations for instance locates a hose which, once severed, sprays out oily black hydraulic fluid. That seems important. One of the machine gun emplacements swivels, turning its attention from Chitose's aircraft to the ninja, spraying his location with bullets.

The missile pod Reinhardt targets discharges about half its payload before his hammer strikes it, interrupting the launch. It swivels around, taking another hit as it tries to aim at the massive German Knight. When it tries to fire, however, a rocket sticks in the tube and detonates, destroying the pod-- but threatening Reinhardt as well because... well, giant explosion.

Speaking of explosions, the leg furthest from Genji, Will, and Reinhardt is subjected to numerous blasts from something that the Omnic is actually designed to protect against. Chitose's dive bombers scorch the armor and damage external mountings, reducing the number of machine guns they have to deal with, at least. This is further assisted by Yamashiro's artillery, striking from the side rather than the top, with so much more kinetic power. Plates buckle, others fall away, leaving the upper leg's internals exposed. The torpedo planes have it a bit rougher, as their target is constantly moving, but the pass manages to land three solid torpedo hits as the leg lifts and moves forward, blasting off sections of armor and internal mechanics. When it puts its weight on that leg again, the entire omnic lurches, though it stays upright. It now has a notable limp.

Xiaomu's efforts continue to foul up machine gun emplacements, including one swinging around to target Reinhardt, now jammed in ice. Another works itself back and forth until the ice it was caught in breaks free, so it can fire on the sage fox.

Hana Song (1068) has posed:
Will finds no access doors or anything like that, as this omnic was never designed to be worked on by people. However, there are gaps in the armor that the techno cowboy might be able to squeeze through-- or he might get at the mechanisms in spots where others have blown the armor away to expose them, which might be safer than getting between machinery and armor plates on a moving limb.

Reina's energy missile slams into the upper part of another leg, above the joint. This draws fire from the machine gun emplacements not currently disabled by Xiaomu or targetting Chitose's bombers. A white and blue MEKA piloted by a young Korean man lands on the Delta Falcon's fuselage, casting out a holographic targeting matrix. Many incoming rounds are intercepted, though he doesn't seem to be quite as good at this as that pink one down there.

    Speaking of.
Bereft of passengers, D.Va's MEKA drops in altitude until she skims a meter or so above the water, dashing between the Omnic's legs. Arms aimed upward, she fills the air above herself with scattered fire from her fusion cannons, peppering the underside module of the omnic's main body and then dashing out the other side. An alert starts flashing about booster charge and she leans into the turn, gaining altitude as well.

Twirling in midair, D.Va's boosters cancel out and she suddenly drops, landing on top of Yamashiro's B turret. That holographic targeting matrix projects itself out, and lasers lance out to intercept incoming missiles and artillery. Just like that, the battleship's AA fairies suddenly have ... very little to do. The gamer girl, meanwhile, hums a pop song while blowing a bubble with her gum, eyes darting from projectile to projectile. And giving Yamashiro full freedom to focus on offense for a few moments.

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
There's a loud yelp of surprise (and some pain) as Xiaomu suddenly finds herself under attack by a nearby turret; she's quick enough to react by vaulting into the air, but it catches her with empty clips, so disabling that turret *again* isn't something she can do quickly enough ...

At least not without chucking a grenade at the turret, and trying to leap straight into the turret's blind zone before the grenade goes off. It's not just a regular frag grenade, either - this is one of Shinra's special grenades, enhanced with fire elemental magic to give it some extra oomph (and additional power against ... well, anything vulnerable to fire, really.)

Combine the sudden thermal shock of a fire-elemental grenade with the chill she administered earlier through ice bullets, and she'll be a little surprised if there's a turret *left* on that emplacement. Getting further away seems like a really good idea, and despite the pain in her legs, she sprints for ... oh geez, is there anything *like* cover on the Omnic's upper hull right now?

Well, either way - she doesn't want to stick around next to an emplacement that she hopes is about to explode.

Shigure has posed:
Yamashiro is used to carrying others aboard, so the sudden arrival of Hana's MEKA unit on her B-turret doesn't get much more than a "Welcome Aboard." from the disembodied voice, echoing from somewhere inside the massive hull. The cannons reload, shells clanking into place inside the mechanisms, as the AA crew get a breather. They do still try to help, downing a couple more missiles themselves, before the main battery once again opens fire, aiming more directly at the already crippled leg, trying to blow the limb off.

Chitose's first wave peel off, their ordinance spent, though the previously damaged ones, and a few more that took strafing hits from the machineguns begin to gutter smoke, one losing its engine as the mechanics inside just seize up from oil loss. They begin to lose altitude, and something the general would probably have a hernia over, are the tiny little parachutes that emerge from the planes as they're forced to ditch. The Fairies bailing out, and deploying their little safety rafts as they hit the water. Chitose isn't idle. The second wave begins to take off, the Zeros leading, while the dive bombers following up, clearing the deck for the first wave to land again. "Begin refuel and equipment change immediately! First wave, supplimented with Third Wave craft to replace losses, prepare to launch!"

Genji Shimada (1007) has posed:
Agile as a monkey, Genji works his way up the leg, doing his best to make that severed hose just the first of many similar damages he inflicts. But the damage is gonna have to stop for at least a short while, because he got its attention. Well, sort of. It's enough that the Shimada shinobi is gonna have to briefly let go.

And taunt the turret. "Try me!"

By the time the bullets reach him, that shortblade is already flitting back and forth impossibly fast, the ring of metal on metal filling the air as the spray of bullets is reflected back towards the turret. He allows himself to fall just long enough to reflect most of the spray - and then suddenly dashes through the air, a rapid movement that puts him clinging to the Omnic's side. His plan is to dash along that side to the next leg, so he can repeat his performance on another limb.

William Pauwel has posed:
Well, unlike a RIGHT AND PROPER GIANT ROBOT, this one appears to have not been designed for human use at all! It reminds him a little of a couple other colossi he's run into over the years, but simultaneoulsy a little less capable of straight up glassing them all. Unless it's hiring a wave motion gun in its chest or something, that'd be bad.

Explosions go off all over the place, filling the air with the acrid scent of burning oil and melting steel, and quite thoroughly lighting Will's face up with a hearty firelit glow. The young Chaser grits his teeth and holds on as more shocks rock the colossus, but he doesn't let go! Oh no. He has a proper hold, now, and while there aren't any PROPER ways into the robot, the others are opening up plenty of other access points. Will lowers a visor over his eyes, the colored glass flashing to a darker shade as it begins filtering out some of the harsher glare. He swings upward, hurling his weight towards the scar that USED to be a functional missile turret-- before it got Reinhardt'd. "This'll do," he murmurs as he steps into the smoke and fire, drawing a strip of cloth up and over his face to filter the air.

With that, he unceremoniously drops into the machine's insides, and starts looking for something, ANYTHING he can start dissassembling or cross-wiring to mess with the Omnic's systems. A fusebox he can tear out of its circuit would do. Or a conduit he could try to rewire to short out this thing's targeting network. There's gotta be SOMETHING for him to break.

Reina Kinney has posed:
At first, Reina seems surprised that there's a rider on her back. "Hey, what's going on?" She checks the visuals and sees she's got a MEKA on her back to assist her. "Well hello there! Sorry I don't have any more space in the cockpit, but if you can hold on, I'm game!"

Steadying her craft a little, Reina attempts to alter her speed enough to keep the MEKA from falling off. "All right, two fighters are better than one! So let's kick some butt!" While the MEKA fires with whatever its using, Reina fires off her standard gunfire again. "Yahahahahaha!"

Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Reinhardt roars in satisfaction as he takes out the missile pod, pumping his fist just before he sees it go up in a fiery explosion. He's been through enough of those to know what comes next; SHIELDS!

Reinhardt throws his up before he can be caught by the blast, attempting to weather the fire and flames just enough to avoid being knocked off the top of the Omnic. "Nnnngh!"

Provided he isn't knocked off, he'll go back to smashing things, intending to crack open its armor for the others to possibly deliver some pinpoint ordinance to damage the Omnic further.

Hana Song (1068) has posed:
The turret singling out Xiaomu swings after her as she ducks for cover behind some armored plate or another, shooting the entire time. It's only when it loses sight of her that it swivels after a new target, only to be caught in an explosion. There's a hideous screeching sound as chilled metal is suddenly superheated and the ball mount stops functioning. Harmlessly, the scorched weapon becomes 'welded' in place, unable to move. A few rounds fire into empty air before the gun jams, as well, rendered inoperable.

The turret shooting at Genji has a similarly Bad Time, only it's peppered with a hail of its own bullets, ricocheting off the armored ball mount. It keeps shooting until something happens-- the barrel suddenly explodes, splitting open like a peeled banana and rupturing in several points further down. Smoking, the gun keeps tracking Genji but is unable to fire, its reloading mechanism destroyed by a collision of rounds both entering and exiting the barrel at the same time.

Inside the omnic it's less a matter of what Will CAN do and more a matter of what he WANTS to do. The spaces inside are cramped and the machine is constantly moving around, but he's surrounded by electrical and mechanical systems and hoses similar to the one Genji sliced. There's a lot of stuff a skilled mechanic could accomplish here if he knew the machine's blueprints. Or a lot of chaos he could cause if he did not.

The MEKA riding on Reina's fighter lifts a fusion cannon in a mock salute, tapping the metal above the view port, and he announces, "Defense Matrix is spent. Watch your tail fins." Boosters ignite and he promptly takes off, so as not to hinder the jet's maneuverability any further and rejoin the fight in different ways. Her gunfire draws more machine gun emplacements towards her, though their numbers are dwindling due to the efforts of the ground crew and mounting damage from the heavy artillery and MEKA activity.

Heavy artillery slams into the Omnic's side again, blasting holes in its heavy armor. A shell or two punch right through the section of leg that had been stripped of its protection, detonating inside and hurling components and oil out the other side. This leg buckles, then shears off and collapses into the sea. The entire machine lurches, then shifts its weight. The remaining legs slide along its central body into a tripod formation and it changes direction-- headed back out to sea. Missiles from remaining pods launch into the air, then descend in arcs on various targets, even the people climbing around on its hull. Inside it, Will is presumably safe, at least.

William Pauwel has posed:
The omnic is heading back out to sea, but Will has the opportunity to do SO MANY THINGS IN HERE. Like, SO MANY THINGS. There are exposed cables all over the place, tubes full of lubricant and fuel and coolant, and so many chemicals that are never supposed to mix- or leak into the ocean- ever! And they're all RIGHT THERE.

Will swaps his gun for a full suite of tools and goes to work. He loosens bolts that look important, cuts electrical lines and tears circuitboards apart, all while slowly but surely trying to figure out just how this big palooka was put together, what tubes carry what fluid, and so on and so forth. After all, he's from a totally different universe! There's no way he has any idea what this thing's blueprints look like.

But regardless of that, he's still a mechanic. And that means that he knows what important mechanical bits look like- and he knows also exactly what happens to machines when you start tearing all that important stuff out.

Of course, he needs to hurry. If he doesn't get out of here soon, he'll end up sinking into the sea! So obviously one of the first things he does is cut what looks like a hydraulic feed line and long-distance electrical cables. Maybe it'll make this thing seize up?

Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Reinhardt certainly feels whatever Will is doing, it'd make Torbjorn proud, that old cantankerous theorist. He must've been less than happy to find out his suspicions were right, at least...at first anyway.

But this isn't the time to muse on Omnic-Human relations, WE HAVE A MONSTER TO KILL! Reinhardt takes the chance to try and rip open a panel to what he thinks is a servo bundle, trying to wrench free armor plating he can stick between the motors.

If this works, he proceeds to drive the big piece of metal home with his hammer, like driving nails into a plank of wood. This might be a bad idea.

Shigure has posed:
Yamashiro grunts from inside her fit-out. She doesn't say anything to Hana, but does swing her radar mast toward the Omnic as it starts turning back the way it came. The secondary batteries, their lower caliber, high explosive shells just bouncing off the things armour, keep on firing regardless, scattering their explosive payload across the giant machine. The main battery is reloading, and may not finish before the machine manages to submerge.

Chitose's second wave descend on the Omnic. The Zeros targetting the remaining turrets to strip the last firepower and silent the AA guns, while the dive bombers come down in sequence, dropping their bombs in a staggered set, aiming for one of the other legs. If nothing she's trying to give Yamashiro and the others more time to disable the thing so it can be destroyed. Her third wave begins taking off after being reloaded with bombs and torpedoes, the planes taking loft and wheeling about to once more appoach the massive machine.

Reina Kinney has posed:
Returning the salute to the MEKA, Reina then turns her focus to the battle at hand again. "We make a great team I think! Too bad you couldn't stick around much longer!" Of course her commentary is cut off when she's hit again. "Ow! Not again!"

She doesn't care how many emplacements are left, she just wants them dealt with. She decides to fire another missile, but before pulling out, she fires off a burst of gunfire again. Hopefully a combo attack will do more damage than usual.

Genji Shimada (1007) has posed:
Oh boy. The leg he's on is now just one of three, and the Omnic is retreating. But more importantly, it's shooting missiles at itself to hit him. "Shit-!"

Genji is swift. Swift enough to sling himself around the titan's leg so that he's underneath, using it to shelter himself. But that doesn't save him from the entirety of the blast, and the heat and concussive force are enough to leave him wishing he had Reinhardt's shield. "I've heard of cutting off your nose to spite your face, but..." he mutters to himself.

But he's also directly under a major joint. Where the shielding is lightest. And he's right in close. This will require letting go of his perch, so he'll only get one shot before he plummets into the water. But one shot's all he really needs, right? So Genji lets go with his left hand, freeing it up while he supports himself with his right.

There's only one direction this can go.

                          "RYUUJIN NO KEN WO KURAE!"

Genji lets go with his right hand. He puts both hands on the Dragonblade. He takes one single, lightning-fast swing with a spirit-empowered blade that can carve even through metal.

And then he plummets towards the ocean.

Hana Song (1068) has posed:
A ruptured hydraulic line sprays hot oil when broken, and severed electrical lines start sparking. Sparks and oil are a bad combination and Will had best retreat from the perfect conditions for an internal fire that he's just created. Outside, the Omnic lurches again. Several of its guns go dead, suddenly sagging downward with no hydraulic pressure to keep them moving, and the missile pods on one of the outstretched legs suddenly go dark, losing power.

Armor weakened by Yamashiro's barrages, it doesn't take long for Reinhardt to find something moving and wedge metal into it. Pounding on it with his hammer crams the scrap into the servo gears of the machine's leg, and it starts grinding the plate up between the gears in a labored way, with a hideous sound over the hammering. The corresponding leg's movements all but stop, jerking to a halt and causing the omnic to stagger.

Between Will and Reinhardt, the omnic is all but immobilized in its retreat, an excellent target for air-dropped bombs while the remaining guns are suppressed. Lower altitude and less 'mass' bombing leads to more accurate strikes, and bombs strike the outstretched, immobilized leg mostly perfectly-- only a handful miss. This staccato of damage builds on itself until this leg, too, collapses and tears off its mounting, leaving the omnic with merely 2 legs to stand on.

The machine teeters, Reina's missile exploding against the central module. Legs adjust to keep it upright, staggering.

And then Genji goes Full Anime.

The Omnic's left remaining leg buckles, then bends inward, carved almost completely through at the joint just above the knee. No longer able to support its own weight, this crumples with a screech of tearing steel and the Omnic begins to collapse, falling into the sea. Its sheer size gives the appearance of slow motion as it's coming down.

"Uh oh, time to bail!" D.Va announces as she rockets off of Yamashiro's deck, skimming the ocean's surface towards the collapsing monstrosity. Genji she's not too worried about, but that 300 pound German in 800 pounds of armor is another story.

Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Reinhardt grins hard, "YEAH! SUCK ON THAT, YOU BIG OLD-" The lurching lets Reinhardt know too late it's a good idea to run like hell, and he brings his shield up only to be hit by a missile blast and an explosion. He stumbles backwards and side to side, only to trip over a dent he'd made earlier. "SCHEISS!"

Then he begins to fall. This might be a problem, if nobody's around to fish Reiny out of the water -again-.

Before he does make a splash, Reinhardt bellows, "IT WAS WORTH IIIIIT!" before he hits the water.

His suit has hermitic seals, and also oxygen reserves, but it might be a good idea to pick him up before he sinks to the bottom of the ocean and drowns.

Shigure has posed:
Yamashiro's guns reload, resounding clanks coming from the turrets as D.Va bails to get the close range guys out. Her targetting zeroes in on the disabled Omnic, barrels angling, and waiting for the rest of the assault team to get clear of the wreck... She then opens fire, all eight cannons launching their shells in unison, aimed at the center of mass of the massive construct.

Chitose's second wave peel away now their munitions are spent, passing the third wave as they dive in to bomb, and skim the surface to drop torpedoes, adding their firepower to Yamashiro's bombardment, and any other incoming fire to finish the machine off.

William Pauwel has posed:
Welp. Will knows the scent of something combustible when he smells it. The fact that he quickly follows THAT up by cutting an electrical line is PROBABLY NOT THE BEST PLAN. At least when it does inevitably CATCH FIRE, it'll do terrible things to the omnic's insides! And this is a HYDRAULIC FIRE, so it may not even give a damn about a lack of oxygen, depending on what this thing actually runs on!

"Gotta go," he says to himself, none-the-less. And again when one of the electrical lines sheds a spark RIGHT into the rising pool of oil. "GOTTA GO." Will clambers out of the hole that was once a missile pod and scrambles across the giant Omnic's outer shell just as it begins to topple! He REALLY hopes the sea's shallow around these parts. But just in case he's not...

He raises his left arm at a MEKA- possibly even Hana's- as it buzzes by. There's a soft 'PSSHT' of compressed air as his grappling hook launches to grab hold of the friendly robotic attack drone. Time to get out of here, before the whole thing catches fire and/or explodes!

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
Taking cover gives Xiaomu a few moments to reload her handguns again, and to double-check what shape she's in. She didn't take any direct hits (thankfully), but those grazes were enough to draw blood from a few welts on her legs. Still, the sound of the turret being completely incapacitated is a refreshing reward for her efforts.

If only she could do the same thing to the Omnic itself.

Will seems to be on top of that, though, to judge by the way the Omnic starts undergoing fairly catastrophic malfunctions from a ruptured hydraulic line and a bunch of shorn cables. The only other thing Xiaomu could really add is another grenade in the damaged hardware ...

Or somebody might take out a leg. "Yeah, time to go!" Xiaomu observes to nobody in particular, sprinting in the general direction of the shore and leaping. Her staff (which she's totally had with her the whole time, somehow) is twirled above her head as she once again draws the Roc's Icebrand from inside her vest ... and then she opens up on the water's surface with a barrage of ice bullets.

Fact: Sea water can in fact be frozen, but it takes colder temperatures than what fresh water freezes at.

Channeling ice magic from her staff's sword and adding it to the Roc's Icebrand is apparently enough to freeze a modest platform on the ocean's surface - and Xiaomu takes the landing like a champ, setting down in an easy crouch that makes her platform bob a bit, but doesn't submerge or capsize it.

From that, she only really needs to use Suiren's ice magic to make some more ice platforms to use as stepping-stones on her way back to the shoreline.

Hana Song (1068) has posed:
As Will climbs out of the omnic's internals, he's followed by an explosion of flames and black smoke, trailing as the Omnic collapses. His escape is facilitated by a scrambling MEKA with red and white markings. and covered in sponsorship stickers. The blonde inside thumbs-ups at him, then rockets it towards shore with the cowboy aboard.

Xiaomu's escape is uninterrupted, and stylish to boot.

As Reinhardt sinks, a pink robot floats to a halt above him and the girl inside reaches down out of the cockpit, grabbing on to his wrist with both hands. With a grunt, D.Va hauls the massive knight far enough out of the water that he can see her, and guides his hands to the MEKA's legs. Without the water holding him up that's about as far as one tiny girl can get him considering her robot has no actual hands.

"Come on, gramps, you're not allowed to die on /my/ live stream."

In the background the collapsing Omnic is mercilessly pounded by bombs, torpedoes, and shell fire from the local navy support. Smoking, in flames, and heavily damaged, it collapses into the sea and sinks out of sight, oil slicking the ocean's surface amidst patches of lingering fire and non-metallic wreckage.

Genji Shimada (1007) has posed:
Eventually, Genji comes to the surface, his faceplate emerging from the water to find the Omnic. Once he's confirmed its location? He starts swimming the /other way/, straight back to shore.

Reina Kinney has posed:
Meanwhile, Reina's cheering a little as she starts to head back towards land. "We did well out there!" She communicates to her allies. "Then again, it was another day for us, wasn't it?" A grin forms on her face as she starts to level off her craft. Eventually once her craft has reached a safe enough altitude, she teleports back to the ground below while her craft autopilots itself back to base.

Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
Reinhardt gargles and sputters, just as he sees Hana picking him out of the water. GASPING for air, as dramatically as possible no less, he affixes his hammer to his back before he clings to the MEKA. "*Pant* *pant*...phew...that was close." He mutters, riding Hana to the shoreline.

"Before we leave and all...I have a question; Could Genji and I get an autograph?" He asks, tired but glad to still be breathing, chuckling all the way back to dry land.

Hana Song (1068) has posed:
"Both of you, huh?" D.Va replies from inside her MEKA, "Yeah sure, I don't mind one bit. I always carry some glossies to sign just in case! But there's a heavy, heavy price, you know." Inside her machine, the girl winks, "You guys are superheroes from before Overwatch closed up shop, so I want /your/ autographs too!"

Reinhardt Wilhelm (1010) has posed:
"Naturally!" Reinhardt grins wide, giving the MEKA a firm tap on the side. "I'm always happy to see fans of myself and the old team!"
