Behind Enemy Lines - Noble Six targets Tesla Armadia
Date of Scene: 23 August 2014
Location: The Deep Valley
Synopsis: Noble Six attempts to assassinate Tesla Armadia, but things don't go as planned.
Cast of Characters: 38, 368

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Take one look around and the phrase 'Hell on Earth' may come to mind. Steam and smoke belch out of ragged breaks in the ground, sometimes the very soil around them hot enough to have a faint visible glow to it. Occasionally when enough acrid fumes boiled into the air a shower of acid rain would batter the barren landscape, but for now it was just covered in banks of thick, choking fog. Hope whatever armor you wore has respirators in it.

Several years ago, when the Confederacy took full control of the nearby Titanium Valley, measures were put in to prevent the raging underground fires of the Deep caverns from spreading into the valuable mineral resource mines of its neighbor. In doing so it was discovered just how much of a terrible, inhospitable location this was. And deciding what better place to hide things you never want even some of your own faction to see than a place that even the most stubborn of Elites would have a tough time stomaching going into.

Though on the ground level it looked like no more than an abandoned equipment warehouse in midst of one of the delapitated ghost towns. But this is where tracking ops had detailed one certain technopathic mastermind coming and going repeatedly over the last several weeks.

The mission was obvious enough -- Find out what Armadia was working on in this god forsaken place, put a stop to it, and if possible, to her. But just the location alone required a bit more than your average assassin...

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The UNSC had gotten particularly good at reconing unhospitable climates during their years of war with the Covenant. ONI in particular had been doing recon on several Confederate officers at the urging of Noble Six, so that she could find some targets to go after.

She'd decided to go big for her first target, since they had locked down the location of the armadillo major. This area would be perfect. Her armor would be more than enough to protect her from the environmental dangers, and the UNSC electronic countermeasures craft that had settled into a holding pattern overhead would be jamming communications from the ground. Coming to a stop at the edge of the ghost town, Noble Six took a knee, as she went over the map on her HUD, putting a waypoint on the building that Tesla had been seen entering. Activating her active camoflage, the SPARTAN disappeared from view and headed towards her target

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Occasionally movement flickers through the dense smokey fogs, vage humanoid forms seeming to whisp in and out of sight as they move, adding to the aire of creepiness one would anticipate in an abandoned ghost town.

Of course advanced scans reveal them to just be strategically placed holograms for the effect, but to a typical non-Elite, the spookiness is enough to keep your average snoop out.

The row of gawdy music and roughhousing can be heard from within the rundown saloon, furthering the atmosphere. Though a glance through the smudgy window reveals the source to be a pack of Tesla's psychotic furball minions entertaining themselves ... By getting drunk on whatever those beakers of hideous foaming gunk are being served at the bar and then beating the snot out of their cloned kin, saloon fight style. Best to let them be and continue on towards the warehouse, they don't seem to be noticing anything other than their own self-inflicting brutality upon each other.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
A small spy camera is left in front of the saloon, to give her an early warning if the creatures inside decide to leave. And besides, seeing them beat the hell out of each other should still be very entertaining. She moves on down to the warehouse, and tests the door. It is, remarkably, not sealed, presumably because no one would be crazy enough to come out here.

The SPARTAN lets herself in, and then quickly moves to a corner of the room. She drops the cloak, staying crouched in the shadows of the corner, so she can observe for any guards or traps. Reaching behind her back, she pulls out one of the prototype supressed M7 sub machine guns. A perfect weapon for taking out targets in close quarters without alerting the entire base.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Once you get inside the warehouse it is a lot more obvious that this isn't a part of the rundown and forgotten structures of the former mining town. There's a few stacks of crates here and there, all bearing the armadillo-curled-into-geartooth-circle logo of GEAR as well as the basic Confederate IDs. What gets a bit more attention is that most of the warehouse is filled with containment devices. Stasis tubes, containment field generators, drop pods, electrified shackles, cages of all sorts and sizes. Hell, there's reinforced cells large enough to hold a Dinobot, at least temporarily. At the center of the building is a large cargo lift elevator, surrounded by several more of those cat-gremlin minions moving stuff around. And as there is no where for the lift to go up at this point, that means it can only go in one other direction....

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Alright, she's going to need to take out those gremlynx, all at once, without setting off any alarms or anything. Noble Six reactivates her cloak and moves closer. Once she's within range, she strikes. Her knife comes out of it's sheath, and into the throat of the closest gremlynx. After the blow is struck, she rips the blade from it, and throws it across the lift at one of the other creatures.

The SMG goes to work, the suppressed shots firing off two round bursts at each of the remaining little minions, trying to strike alll of them down before any of them even have a chance to react to the SPARTAN's sudden presence.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
In approaching the chatter of the gremlynx becomes audible... though it's all incipherable nonsense to the untrained ear, sounding like gibberish and broken english even in translation though it's clear they're communicating with each other. It's like getting the words but not all the context and syntax.

There's a good chance Tesla specifically structured their linguistic genetics like that. Less for the enemy to overhear that way.

Said conversation gurgles off when one is stabbed in the throat, and his talking companion gets the knife between the eyes. The disruption gets the attention of those on the other side of the lift, only to get gunned down in a barrage of supressed fire. Clearly they were just laborers and not any sort of combatant. Even though one would expect -some- kind of guard by this point.

Either way, the lift is clear for use. Only one way to find out where it goes.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Making sure to retrieve her knife, Six gets onto the lift and triggers it to go all the way down to the bottom. She takes a knee behind some boxes, and stealths again once the system re-engages. She slips the blade back into it's sheath. She's very thankful for that anti-fluid coating on the blade.

She checks her mission timer. She's still doing very well on time. Recon hasn't reported Armadia leaving this facility in two days, so Six should be able to find her target here, somewhere deep within the bowels of this lab. Her armor cam is recording everything, sending it back to the Crimson Dawn in real time, so they can monitor her mission status.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
It takes several minutes for the lift to reach the lower levels. It's difficult to tell just how far underground it is, there's just no accurate scanning past the channel walls. Between that and the nasty local environmental conditions, it would be practically impossible to easily detect.

What could be so important to hide in such a hideous location in such a well hidden facility?

Noble gets her first answers when the lift descends into a large open chamber, giving her a few scant moments to look out at the floor before it reachs the bottom. There's at least one platform holding several of the cybernetic raptors Tesla and Styracio co-operated on, looking more like inactive animatronics as they just stand there. In one of those large cages is some sort of... mutation, the hideous misalignment of limbs and eyes in improper locations making it impossible to tell what it might of once been. Even with it being caged, occasionally an armored wolf commando has to stab a electrode rod through the bars and shock it into submission. "Hurry up and get a containment cell cleared for this... thing," another barks (almost literally) at the workers scrambling about.

Off to one wall stand several stasis pods holding cybernetic bodies that are quite visible, despite their augmentations, dead.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Well this is certainly not what Noble Six had expected to find. She makes sure to get a good look at the cages, the cybernetic raptors, and the dead cyborgs inside of the stasis pods. She moves slowly, because while the cloak may render her invisible to the eye, anything with any other enhanced senses could easily pick her out.

She's trying to look for anywhere deeper into the facility that might have a more private lab space where Tesla would most likely be. Her plan is simple. Get inside, seal the room, and only one of them walks out.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Most of the containment devices are being carted off through cargo bay sized doors, deeper into the facility where various caves and tunnels have been cyberformed into holding cells. That mutant is enough of a grotesque display to not really want to know what else may be locked up down there.

On the other side of the chamber is a smaller corridor. That's the most likely way to find the labs and control facilities.

Though as she approaches Noble would notice the two armored wolfoid sentries flanking the sides of the doorway. While they may not be as advanced as the alpha bitch they are derived from, the sentry models are designed with perception in mind. Audial, olfactory, even optical input that can see farther than just visible light. Enough to pick up the flicker of that cloaking field that others would never see.

"INTRUDER ON DECK!" One swings up his sentry rifle in the SPARTAN's direction and pops off a shot with its secondary fire mode, a disruptor jolt meant to scramble away optical camoflague effects. The other raises a hand to her headset, but only looks confused when her attempt to signal primary command just returns static from the jamming ship topside.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The blast strikes close enough to the SPARTAN to knock her cloak out, leaving the red armored warrior visible to the two sentries. The warrior frowns under her helmet as her stealth is gone. Guess it's time for plan B. She raises the SMG up towards the one who has their weapon readied, and fires a burst as she moves towards the two of them. If she can put the one with the weapon down, she'll take them down, and then take the other one down with hand to hand. Maybe she can get past them and into the lab before the rest of the facility activates.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
It takes a moment for sentry to switch his weapon to its primary mode, but a moment is all a SPARTAN needs for lethality. The armor must not be very heavy, as several SMG rounds punch holes through it and the wolfborg slumps against the wall, bleeding.... something that isn't actually blood.

She might get her wish sooner than expected, as the other sentry rushes her out of frustration, deploying a set of electrified clawblades from her forearms.

Somewhere else in the facility a signal light dims as the first sentry goes off-line. Someone or something has either gotten into the complex or broken out of containment. Secondary systems come online to investigate... but the question will be who or what responds to it eventually. Ominous.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
These sentries are a lot more agressive than Six had anticipated. More like Elites than Grunts, that's for sure. Those elctrified claws find her armor, sending sparks up, though her bodysuit keeps her from taking the brunt of the electrical attack. Still the SPARTAN can't allow them to send up an alarm. Of course she doesn't know their lifesigns are being tracked.

Reaching out to grab the sentry, Six turns and swings her body through the air, the idea being to bring the sentry wolf down on the back of her head with enough force to knock her out completely. This way Six will be able to continue her mission un-heeded. She'll finish the wolfess off if need be, but most people who take a concussion are usually out of the fight.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
A small pack of gremlynx, these one's actually armed though it's only with more shock rods, come scurrying over expecting to find one of the containments to have failed again. So at the sight of the armored commander they skid to a huddled stop, briefly confused. Long enough for Noble's takedown maneuver to slam the she-wolf down on top of them, taking out two proverbial birds with one stone cold stunner. Ugh, that was a terrible word play.

Moving on! Well there's no obvious alarms, at least.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Well that at least solves the issue at hand. Noble Six moves past where the two wolfs had been guarding and into the door. At this point, since her cover is blown, she decides to screw subtlety and simply kicks the door open with one heavy armored boot.

Once the door has been freed from it's hinges, she quickly moves in, sweeping the room from left to right with the SMG in her hands, as she searches for any more potential threats inside of this next area.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Nope, no threats here. Not at all... oh look out for that laser grid crisscrossing the corridor though.

What, it's an evil mastermind's facility, what else did you expect there to be?

Noble Six (38) has posed:
That's oddly cliche, but at the same time, not something that's very common in Noble Six's world...Still, she's smart enough to figure these are either A) Alarm lasers or more likely B) Some sort of powerful cutting laser. Since she likes all of her limbs, she's going to assume B.

She quickly glances for any obvious survailience systems, and then begins the task of weaving her way through the lasers. She is remarkably agile for someone of her size and the weight of the armor, but she's being extra careful, so she is taking it slower.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Fortunately none of the laser beams are actually mobile. They're all static placements. Though clearly no one expected someone with the sort of armor it would take to last this long to be able to navigate through them so deftly. If slowly. Patience and perseverence pay off though, getting Noble to the other end of the corridor without so much as a burn.

Now she's confronted with a pair of heavy blast doors. Might not be able to just kick those open but surely she's got an answer of some sort...

Noble Six (38) has posed:
All things considered, these blast doors might be an issue. Designed to withstand massive explosions, she doesn't think anything she has on her will be good enough to get through the door the hard way. Good thing she has some other skills. Six turns to either side of the door, looking for an access pannel. Most places have these, though this one might not considering the nature of her target, Tesla may just use her abilities to open the door. If that's the case, Six may need to come up aith an alternate plan to get the door open.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Left side? Nothing. Right side? Nothing. On the door? Nothing. She might be right about that... but then, how would her subordinates get in and out? Someone has to be able to access the control room when she's not present herself after all

Maybe that's why there's a hidden panel down near the floor on the side wall. About the same height as one of the gremlynx. How many people look down that low?! Not many, it would seem. It's called hiding it in plain sight. Or something clever like that.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The SPARTAN switches vision modes a couple of times, until thermal reveals something. A small pannel down near knee level, "Huh."

Who would have figured they'd put it at the same level as the creatures who would be using it in the first place. She bets there was a way to turn off the laser grid back at the start, too. She wishes she'd thought of that ahead of time.

Taking a knee, she prys the pannel off of the wall with her knife and gets to work on bypassing it to open the door.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
It takes a bit of fiddling to find the right connections to open/close the doors, but again diligence is a virtue that rewards the soldier with a silent swooshing open of said doors.

The room inside is clearly the control room, or something close to it. Most of the walls are covered in monitors and consoles monitoring various parts of the facility. Look, there's a group on that one examining the dead sentries by the first doorway. That one is observing a scientist testing some vat of chemicals... by dunking a gremlynx in it by the tail. Oooh, that's definately not something you want to be on the other side of by the way the critter is flailing about. Other monitors show those dead cyborgs being loaded into a storate chamber, and ... things. Things too unfanthomable to describe. Noble's seen some pretty nasty, nearly elderitchic things in her time, she can probably guess by appearance how nasty some of these indescribable things are.

Like the compound was made to lock away the weird shit you don't want messing with -either- side.

An appropriately high-backed mastermind chair is facing away from the doors, occupant watching whatever is on the cluster of viewscreens before it.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
That must be her target. Welp, time for subtlety has passed. As the door swings open, Noble Six steps inside. At this point it doesn't matter if anyone knows she's there, because she doesn't plan on letting anybody leave this room alive. The SMG is tucked away on the small of her back, and she pulls out a much larger weapon. Sleek, rifle-like in appearance, she brings the stock up to her shoulder and angles the weapon towards the chair.

"Tesla Armadia! For crimes against the Union, you are hereby targeted for termination by ONI. Any last words?" Not that Six really intends for Tesla to have a chance to say anything, as she's already squeezed the trigger on the weapon. It has a two second charge time, but when it finishes, it's going to fire a high explosive projectile at near-light speeds. Say hello to the UNSC's rail gun.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
As Noble Six makes her proclimation and pulls the trigger a hand reachs for the controls from the chair. But the explosive round hits the back of the seat first, literally blowing a hole through it. And by the way blood and shrapnel splatters on the monitors, through more than just that. The arm slumps to the side of the chair as it slowly turns around.

And the now headless gremlynx falls out of it, spilling the tub of popcorn from its lap and dropping the toy grappler arm wearing a rubber labwork glove that it was using to reach the controls.

Right on cue a side compartment rotates open to reveal a small personal lift that none other than Tesla herself steps out of. Only having a chance to take two sips from her coffee before pausing, looking from the carcass on the floor to the SPARTAN and back again. Followed by a heavy sigh. "Great, I'm going to have to get that chair re-upolstered -again-." Nevermind the huge hole in the back.

Takes another sip of her coffee, uncannily calm for the situation. "Nice shot, though. Most assassination attempts don't make it into the inner stations."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"..."

Noble Six turns as soon as the side door opens, the weapon turning to bear at Tesla. Of course the rail gun has downsides to it's design, as steam rises off of the weapon from the heat it generated from that shot. She'll need to wait for it to cool down before she fires again, "Trust me, my next shot won't miss." She says, as she glares at Tesla. A countdown timer inside of her helmet shows her about how long it takes for the weapon to cool down enough to fire again. For now she keeps it leveled at the Confederate major just the same, "You've never dealt with an assassin quite like me, Major Armadia. Most of them would probably give you a chance to surrender. I won't make that mistake."

She's not sure what Tesla's range for her abilities is, so she's making sure to maintain some distance from her, in case her powers can affect Six's armor and weapons.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
"No shit." The end of the coffee is gulped down, and the empty cup is tossed. On the dead body, since that's going to need to be cleaned up afterwards anyways. "Most assassins don't come toting railguns, after all. Might of not been the best choice though. You've got to wait for it to cool down. Or you would of been able to shoot me before I do this."

In a flurry of high tech action and a flex of her own powers Tesla Armadia is encased in her own trademark power armor. "Relative of Master Chief?" Yet her tone of voice still has that uncanny calmness to it. "You share his taste in wardrobe. Better for color, though."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"I like to make a point." She replies, as she watches the timer tick down. Tesla being in her own power armor will make this a bit harder, and Six locks the rail gun back onto the back of her armor, letting the magnetic hardpoint hold the weapon, "Guess we're going to do this the hard way, though." Six grabs the knife out of it's sheath, and tosses it to her right hand, twirling the blade though the air as she tosses it.

"My name is Noble Six. I am a SPARTAN, like the Chief, but not the same type. That's all you need to know."

She raises her left hand, and motions for Tesla to bring it, as she's ready for her opponent.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
A glint of light flashes across Tesla's visor as she readies herself. "At least you didn't run away when you blew it, I'll give you that much over the previous attempts."

Wait, are her eyes glowing behind the visor and that wasn't just a lens flare?

Abruptly a section of monitors pulls off the wall, reangling themselves into a vagely maw-like formation that tries to chomp down on the super soldier.

"But don't forget you're in -my- domain."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Yeah, this is probably not the best place in the world to try an assassination, but Six isn't really one to try to wait for opporitunities to come to her. The monitor mouth that comes down towards her, and she turns towards it and swings a powerful fist, trying to smash the monitor with her enhanced strength, and take it down. One of her feet comes up to strike at it as well. She'll have to deal with the danger at hand, rather than worry about Tesla right now. Soon she'll go after the master of this domain, though.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Not many people can say they punched the teeth out of a technopathic monitor monster, but now Noble can. The combination of super strength punch and kick shatter the construct before it can crunch down fully on her. Since it was made from, you know, just a bunch of monitors. Not really a very durable thing in comparison to secret project super soldiers.

But to some extent, it was just a diversion. Long enough for Tesla to pull out a pair of quad-barreled blasters and open fire on the Spartan as she smashes free of the monitor construct.

Why pistol sized gatling guns? Because I effin' can, that's why.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The blasts strike Noble Six several times, sending her armor shields flaring to life. She rips one of the monitors off of the monster and places it between herself and those blasters to absorb several of the shots, dropping down to a knee to present a smaller target.

Still holding the monitor with one hand and knowing it won't hold for long, she pulls her SMG from behind her back and fires a burst. That's just a distraction, though, as she punts one of the other monitors at Tesla with all the force she can muster from her heavily armored boot.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Shit, that integeral shielding slipped her mind. Guess it's been too long since she's actually had to deal with the Chief or the other guy that was his doping sidekick of sorts.

Tesla stops firing to raise one arm in fron of herself and deploy the extendable riot shielding from one vambrace, sparks of hitflash bursting to life with every shot that rattles into it. But then gets slammed with the monitor which delivers enough kinetic impact to make her skid backwards to the wall. "Tch." With a grunt she holds out her other arm, a concealed compartment popping a gripped pole into her hand. As her fingers clench shut on the handle the pole extends and then the end opens up and expands into a jagged axe-blade.

No wait, the serrated blade is inside the axe head, snarling to life like a saw as Tesla lunges forward to swing it at the SPARTAN woman. "You may actually be a challenge, but I have dealt with much, much worse things in my times."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Well that's an interesting weapon. Six might have to look into getting something like that someday. Or something similar, she'll figure it out when she's not having the weapon swung at her. Six does something unexpected, and something that works well for her when she fights the Brutes and their gravity hammers. She jumps.

SPARTANs can get a lot of height with their jumps, and she easily clears the shorter Tesla. She flips over in midair as she sails overhead, and fires downwards, intent on getting past that shield by firing from above, before coming to a rather graceful landing on the other side of her opponent. Of course it's still a half ton of armor, so her graceful landing dents the ground.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
If anyone else was watching this it would be the point where things go briefly slow motion, watching 'over the shoulder' from Noble's angle as she flips through the air firing her gun, watching as Tesla turns on the ground to follow her. The midair barrage gets past her shield alright, several shots digging into her armor. Abiet around the shoulders and back, which is unsurprisingly pretty heavily armored. You know, armadillo motiff and all that.

She's not the only one that's surprisingly agile in heavy armor though. Floor panels crunch under her landing, and Noble would come back to her foe just in time to have a heavy ball of armor hurtling towards her, spun through the air at surprisingly high velocity by the kinetic projectors built into the technopath's armor.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The thing about Six's armor is that the shields are designed to deflect plasma, laser and high velocity rounds. They're not able to deflect that huge solid ball and she gets knocked backwards through the air as the chestplate of her armor gets dented in. She hits the ground and rolls a couple of times, coming to a stop leaning against that shattered chair. It's at this point that she grabs the rail gun back off of her back, and levels it towards Tesla again, squeezing the trigger. It has it's warm up moment, but Six is a good enough marksman that even if Tesla moves, she'll be able to track her target. The railgun will release it's payload once it reaches full charge, aimed right at Tesla with that high velocity, high explosive round.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Tesla Armadia rebounds in the opposite direction as she unrolls onto her feet, sparks crackling from her heels scraping on the ground to arrest the remainder of her momentum. "So tell me... have you considered how you're going to get back -out- of here afterwards?" Her opponent goes for the chair for support and pulls out her raingun again. "Even if you did succeed now, I doubt after being worn out even you would be able to retreat back the way you came with security maxing out in response to my theoretical departure."

Tick... weapon is warming up... tick... her focus locks onto the weapon... tick ... she can't block it with her technopathy but she can watch it... tick... seeing the exact process in the seconds passing as it warms up, arms... tick... and Noble fires...

And Tesla swings her axe-saw, relying on precision prediction to make up for their projectile's extreme velocity and calculating her opponent would aim for the center of her mass to maximize effect, to tear the chopping blade into the shell. It detonates away from impacting her directly, but with enough explosive force that the shockwave is likely to bombshock both of them in the resulting blast radius.

The crunch of infrastructure as Tesla herself impacts back to the wall from the blast, echoing in the wake of the explosion itself, after-blast smoke rolling off her armor. Because that's the sort of thing that happens after sitting through an explosion.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The force of the explosion, particularly in the rather enclosed area of this area they're fighting in, sends Six flying backwards inton one of the banks of monitors. Sparks and explosions spray out around her as she ends up falling down to the ground, face first. Smoke smolders off of her as she lays there, seeming to be unmoving.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Tesla Armadia grunts. "I never did like the Chunky Salsa Principle." Good thing it wasn't a closet.

There's probably a lab somewhere in the complex just for testing locking someone in a closet or other enclosed spaces with different types of grenades.

The saw-axe is stowed away as she extradites herself from the wall, walking towards the SPARTAN's form on the floor. Though she stops a couple of paces away, instead pointing her arm at Noble's head and extending the double barrel bolters from her forearm. "Don't waste your time, I'm not gonna fall for getting too close thinking you're already dead. I've dealt with Master Chief, I -know- that collateral damage wasn't enough to completely incapacitate a SPARTAN."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Six rolls over to one side and rises back up to face Tesla. She glares at the armadillo woman behind the visor of her helmet, "You'd be surprised how often it works." She says, as she aims the SMG at Tesla, "So how are we going to end this, Armadia? Keep punching each other until nether of us can move?" She asks, as she continues to glare at Tesla.

The SPARTAN is considering her options. She knows this job will end her if she pushes it too far, but she hates to lose. And she especially hates to leave something unfinished.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Tesla Armadia gives a faint bit of a wry smirk with one corner of her mouth. "I have to work in the general vicinity of Lute and Slime. Trust me, I know how stupid people can be." He aim shifts to follow the armored woman rolling over, but there's no firing just yet. She's probably relishing the moment. It's a mastermind thing.

"Normally I'd have to take the worst case senerio and self destruct the facility. Buuuut as you've surely already seen on your way in, there are .... -things- down here that are locked away in a miserable isolated location in a heavily shielded facility that no one ever goes to for a reason. That," she adds in a deadpan afterwards, "And I doubt it would actually -kill- you any more effectively than I can."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"That much is true." Six replies, as she continues to aim her gun at Tesla, while having Tesla's aimed at her. It's a Mexican standoff, to say the least, "I wouldn't want any of those things getting out into the Multiverse as a whole. But I can't let you walk out of here, either. I have a reputation to uphold."

Six's position shifts as she takes hold of the weapon with both hands, carefully looking at Tesla and preparing for her to make a move. She doesn't trust Tesla to just let her leave, either. She'll most likely need to fight her way out.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
"Reputations have a habit of being broken, dear." Tesla replies, smirking still. Neither one of them can readily fire their weapon without the other doing the same. Something has to break this stand-off.

And something does. Not from a gun, but as the manipulator the now dead gremlynx had been holding abruptly clenches into a fist and hurtles at Noble, just enough of a machine to it for Tesla to manipulate it with her powers. For pathetic damage, if any, but it's quite an effective suckerpunch out of nowhere.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
If anything else it serves to be a distraction, as Six turns towards the movement caught out of the corner of her eye, and she shoots the fist out of the sky. This momentary distraction will probably be enough to take her eyes off of Tesla. Which is most likely going to be a bad idea.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Surprisingly enough, the bolters retract when Noble Six turns to shoot the flying toy fist before it can sock her.

But that's because of the energy cannon that deploys over Tesla's shoulder instead. It's almost literally a crack of thunder when it fires, as it fires a bolt of arcs of ionized current towards the SPARTAN that just might punch through some of her defense with surprising effectiveness.

"Oh, yes, I made a weapon designed specifically for overloading personal energy shields. You like?..Probably not, considering." Because the mad scientist has to get the exposition in there.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
It strikes hard at the SPARTAN before she can turn back around, and the electrical current arcs across her body, dropping her shields and sending the SPARTAN down to a knee as she tries to recover from the sudden impact.

She looks back at Tesla, and tries to force herself back up to her feet. Her whole armor systems are rebooting, she can't even see anything at the moment. She pulls her helmet off and grabs her gun, turning it to fire at Tesla, but revealing the young blonde woman that wears the armor in the process.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
Tesla Armadia finally chuckles a bit as the weapon collapses back into her armor. I'd explain how she's able to just make, use and then deconstruct them like that, but it's a long and really boring topic that we don't need to go into at this point. There's a different between practical exposition and needless bragging, after all. "I'll give you props for trying, but really my dear," Several gun shots pound into her armor, succeeding in breaking off chunks of plating from the repeat impacts. Not that it dulls her smirk any even as the broken pieces clatter to the floor around her feet. "But I am one of the -last- people you want to fight on her own home turf."

Are her eyes glowing again? The visor makes it hard to tell when its that or when it's the electronics in it. So there really isn't an answer until several cables and wires burst out of the ceiling, snapping down like whipping snakes to try and get animated metallic coils around the super soldier.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Well that's an awkward position to wind up in as the cables wind tightly around the SPARTAN. The armor hasn't rebooted, so while her strength is still superior to that of a normal human, the armor does a lot of the enhancement.

Without that enhancement, it seems Six has been captured, as she gets hauled off the ground. The problem with the comms jamming is it works both ways, so there's no good way for her to call for aid. She grunts as she tries to push against the binds, but the suit itself is dead weight until it's systems come back online.

Tesla Armadia (368) has posed:
As Tesla walks up to the suspended woman the visor slides back, revealing that her eyes are indeed glowing. It must be quite the concentration, it's bright enough you can't even see her pupils. "Well I think that makes the point." She folds her hands behind her back as she looks up, regarding the SPARTAN like one would assess an experiment. "As much as I would love to add something like you to this little collection, your Union fellows tend to be rather rabid about launching idiotic rescue missions. And we can't really afford drawing that much interest in this location, now can we?"

With a huff she turns and walks over to boot the rest of the minion's remains from next to the chair and sit down in it despite the gaping hole and blood stains. "Oh, but don't think you shouldn't try again." Steeples her fingers together in front of her. "Just don't be so reckless as to come after me where I hold the entire field advantage, hmmm?"

With that the cables give a jerk, hoisting the still incapacitated SPARTAN along with them. Struts and passages flash by too fast to follow, complicated by the weaving and winding pathway the quick accent takes. Up, up and up some more...

And then launched unceremoniously out of a venting shaft at the surface. She didn't just get thrown out of a base, she got thrown out BY a base. Sort of.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Winding up back on the surface, Noble Six ends up getting tossed away from the base. She lands hard and rolls several times befomre coming to a stop. She lies on the ground there for a few moments, before she sends the recovery signal to the ship that has been circling. The troops onboard will come rescue her and take her back to the Crimson Dawn.

Six will already begin planning on how to make this work, next time. She will have to accept that Elites are going to be far harder to take out than her normal ONI targets.
