Synopsis: Random encounter, with Laura wandering through and crossing paths with a certain otaku foxgirl.
Cast of Characters: 707, 1111

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
Akihabara, the holy city of otaku. Especially gaming otaku. Plenty of game centers (read: video arcades) dot the main drag of Akihabara Electric Town, each one advertising a different selection of cabinets to draw in customers; Xiaomu is just stepping away from one of those 'storefront' game cabinets as it is, a little chagrined about getting her tails handed to her by the computer, but in good humor regardless as a boy steps up in her place to test *his* skills next.

Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney had never been to Japan before. Well, at least not of her own choosing, and with the ability to decide what to do. Right now, she's wandering down the sidewalk, fully immersed in the riot of color and sound and smells, occasionally slurping noodles from a styrofoam cup in one hand. Mmmmm. Spicy~ Her nostrils flare a bit, gaze flitting across the crowd before locking on Xiaomu. Even over the nearly tear-inducing aroma of the noodles, she could still smell something about the girl. And those ears don't look like the headbands some other teens were wearing. This girl might not be human. Not that she's in any place to judge, though.

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
It's quite possible that Laura's sense of smell is sharper than Xiaomu's, but the scent of prepackaged ramen prompts the sage fox to glance around briefly. She *almost* scoffs at the styrofoam cup ...

Well, it's not like your average street cart ramen comes in a cup that's convenient to wander around with, right? It takes time, and it also takes money, and Xiaomu can relate to having limited supplies of both. Still, all that leather? Xiaomu can't *quite* keep the distaste off her face.

She waves to Laura anyway, grinning briefly. "Enjoying Akihabara?" she asks cheerily.

Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney locks eyes as her attention seems to be noticed, pausing in her eating to return the appraising glance. No smile, though. That's not quite her. "Yes. The food is very good, and there are many interesting things for sale. I have not been here before." Not quite the truth, but it's hard to sightsee when you have 22 minutes to find your target, kill them, and exfiltrate. "People also do not stare at me." Well, not any more than any gaijin gets stared at.

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
Xiaomu grins, actually turning further away from the games to focus her attention more fully on the foreign girl. "If you're looking for souvenirs, you can get some of the best stuff in the bazaar underneath the train station," she points in the appropriate direction. It's not visible from the main street, but if Laura knows where Akihabara station *is* then she should be able to find it easily enough. "Just gotta know what you're looking for, but if you know *that* you can find basically anything you want. As for the food, there's this great place around the corner a couple blocks north - follow the signs for Kanda Shrine," which are labeled in English as well as Japanese (tourists are a thing), "and look across the street from the steps to the shrine grounds. Much better than convenience-store noodles," she grins.

Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney gives a one shouldered shrug. "I travel light. Food is good, but these are easy to carry. And spicy. One of the food carts would not make them spicy enough." She takes another mouthful, seemingly unfazed by the heat. "This is a good city for the outcasts of society, though."

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
"Fair enough," the sage fox replies. "So, you sticking around Tokyo for long, or just passing through from one place to another?" she inquires with a casual air. It's not a 'practiced' air, either - it's genuine, not affected. Xiaomu knows full well about the Multiverse; she's just not sure if the leather-clad girl is a tourist indigenous to Earth-52605, or a Multiversal in transit who just happened to be here for supper.

Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney gives another noncommittal shrug. "Probably just one evening. Travel is a lot easier when you do not have to worry about distances." Well, that probably answers the second question. Finally polishing off her noodles, she tosses the cup into a trash can, not breaking eye contact with the fox girl. "I was starting to get cabin fever where I was staying."

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
"Ooh? Where are you staying for now?" Xiaomu wonders, her ears pricking up.

... yes, those are definitely animal ears, not a cosplay prop. Sure, there are electronically animated/reactive cosplay animal ear things, but not THAT realistic.

"If it's here in Akihabara," she continues, "I know a few people who might save you a bit of money overnight ..."

Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
Laura Kinney shakes her head. "I do not like staying in areas I do not have time to scout out. I parked my motorcycle a few blocks away, I will take it back to the warpgate afterwards." Well, that's that pretty much confirmed. In turn, Laura certainly doesn't move like you'd expect someone of her age and appearance to. She doesn't waste motion, and seems to always be observing the area around her, as if she's watching for something. "I have a house. WIth friends." That's probablhy the best way to explain the Watch.

Xiaomu (707) has posed:
Xiaomu tilts her head to the side at that, opening her mouth -

Then she pauses.

"Fair enough," she says with a grin and a game shrug of her shoulders. "I hope you have fun with your friends, then ... just be careful what *kind* of fun, mmkay?"

She grins, inclining her head to Laura, then starts sauntering away. "In the meantime, enjoy your visit!"

Laura Kinney (1111) has posed:
"I am very careful. I do not make mistakes." Laura calls out after the retreating foxgirl. Huh. That was... a bit strange. She'll have to do sme research later. in the mean time... Maybe she'll go try the noodle place that Xiaomu mentioned. She /is/ still hungry, after all...
