Cast of Characters: 6258, Yang Xiao Long

Lemeza Kosugi (6258) has posed:
It had been a while since the professor had sparred anyone at the Shrine of Adversity, so naturally Yang's challenge over the radio piqued Lemeza's interest. Truth be told, he really should be resting up after the pounding he got from the Black Queen a few days prior, but restlessness won out and drove him to accept the berserker's invitation

He wastes no time in setting up an arena for the two to fight in: there's plenty of flat, open terrain to maneuver around in, but there's also quite a few rock pillars to work with. And dotting the outer edge of the arena are several lava lakes. They're far enough away that they won't restrict movement, but they're there, and can be used for kiting if one so desires.

"Alright. This work for a battlefield, Yang?" Lemeza asks, before getting ready and adopting a fighting stance.

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang waits patiently as the field is set up. She's doing some stretches, flexing out her legs and arms from the cramped quarters of the Bullhead that dropped her off at the Shrine. "Works for me... kinda reminds me of some of the Vytal Festival battlegrounds." remarks the blonde before straightening and deploying her gauntlets.

The brawler is sporting a modification of her regular outfit, covering a bit more skin and looking somewhat professional instead of the usualy tomboy blazé she usually sports. "Alright then, here we go!"

With a ground-cracking kick-off Yang charges in on the Professor, firing a gauntlet to send her around to one side, before aiming a leg sweep as her opening move!

Lemeza Kosugi (6258) has posed:
Huh. Lemeza figured that with the girl's gauntlets she'd focus on punching. When she goes for a leg sweep instead, it catches him off-guard - he's swept off his feet before he can react. But react he does, as he rolls with the blow, retaliating with a whip strike aimed at Yang's back. Lem's still pacing himself though, seeing just how much of an issue his glacier-induced injuries will actually be in the fight. Come to think of it, this Yang really likes to fight... "So, what's your actual profession? You're really into sparring, but that doesn't sound like your /job/."

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang takes that whip straight across her back, a bright golden field appearing and softening the blow, though it does still make her stagger forwards and roll through the momentum imparted.

She comes up, turns and fires her gauntlets into the ground to propel herself up and into an arcing charge to come down into a flurry of punches at the professor. She grins at the question. "I'm a Huntress in Training." she replies. "I fight monsters and keep people safe."

Lemeza Kosugi (6258) has posed:
"I see. So this is kind of like job training for you then?" The professor takes a couple hits, but avoids the bulk of Yang's assault as he bounds back and scales one of the rock pillars surrounding the center of the arena. He's taking stock of the huntress' fighting style, and considering how best to push her... hm. Yeah, that's it. She's only been able to graze him thus far, so let's test her mobility! From his vantage point, Lemeza draws his pistol and fires a few shots straight at Yang, interested in seeing what she does in response.

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang swings, and misses, shifting stance and rolling through the punch instead of trying pulling the arm back. This leaves her open to the first few bullets, the slugs striking into her Aura and depleting it pretty handily. She then starts to dodge, grazing past the other bullets before launching herself up at the explorer atop that pillar. She brings a fist around, and aims not at the Professor himself, but at the ground at his feet, firing a shell into the pillar and causing it to explode violently in a shrapnel burst! "Pretty much! That, and I like meetin' new people. Plus you only really get to know someone once you've punched them in the face a few times."

    Yang... Yang no.

Lemeza Kosugi (6258) has posed:
The punchy lady sure likes her power moves, though her accuracy seems to be taking a hit as a result. Still... a direct hit sure would hurt. Lemeza doesn't wait around and instead hops right on over to the next pillar, propelled conveniently by the explosion to his back. Ow. Best to stay out of her reach if at all possible. Lem calmly takes another few shots at Yang, content to try to whittle her down rather than go for a big takedown like he's kinda wanted to do to someone for a while. Ah well, steady wins the race. And about that face-punching... Lemeza shouts a little heckle. "I think what you meant to say is /TRY/ to punch them in the face." Heheh, that ought rile the berserker up.

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang stands on the broken pillar, letting the debris fall around her as those shots rain down and whittle away at her defenses. One finally pierces the Aura block and punches through her shoulder, making her cry out in pain as blood sprays from the wound.

And then she turns and brings her fists up as if to box at the professor without moving. She slams her fists together, causing an eruption of power to surround her, hair blazing with golden fire and those lilac eyes shifting to a baleful, glowing red. "I'l give ya 'try' buddy!" she roars back, then starts punching the air. Each punch is punctuated by a report of the shotgun built into her gauntlets, launching glowing bolts of red explosive force at the Professor from distance. They detonate like grenades on impact, and have some mild homing properties, though nothing that could keep up with an Elite trying to actively dodge them.

Lemeza Kosugi (6258) has posed:
"Yipe!" Lemeza actually exclaims in a brief panic as Yang's eyes turn red and berserker-y. He poing-poing-poings from pillar to pillar, keeping abreast of the grenade shots for the most part -- and then a couple of them clip his feet, knocking him toward the ground. Then one more blasts him for good measure, toward the lava pools at the edge of the arena. That... was a powerful blast, and he's counting himself lucky he dodged the brunt of it. He's suddenly a lot more interested in ending this quickly, but there's no way he's getting close to that crazy woman, so he just keeps putting down ever-increasing amounts of gunfire, reloading as necessary, and backing up towards the lava in what looks like desperation...

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang grins. It's an unhinged, feral expression, not one you'd want to see on an ally, let alone an enemy. As those bullets come in, she brings her arms up, and starts doing some superhero thing by deflecting and blocking the shots with the metal strike-plate on her arms. Some she misjudges and they skim past her exposed arms and body, drawing blood, but for the most part she weathers the storm.

And then, in a lull during a reload, she launches herself. The pillar she's stood on explodes from the imparted force, and the blonde berserker seems to appear a moment later in front of Lemeza, cracking the ground from the impact. She stoops, ducking in and under Lemeza's guard, before launching herself upwards again, bringing a fist up with the motion. This fist seems to burn with a golden flame, her Aura focussing into that one singular point. "HHHUUUURRRRREEEEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!"

Lemeza Kosugi (6258) has posed:
Excellent. Panic turns to composure as Lemeza moves to kick off Yang, using her as a springboard to launch himself clear into the lava lake. The plan: to take a dive, let his Ice Cape keep him safe, and keep fighting from there. Unfortunately, his kick isn't the only springboard in play: Yang lands a GODDAMN DIRECT HIT TO HIS FACE and sends him SPIRALING into the lake, unable to mount the counteroffensive he'd had planned. Blech. And after that blow, he'll need a moment to recover...

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang lands after her launch, and staggers for a moment as her Aura flickers out, and her Semblance fades with it. "Whew! That was a workout!" she calls, immediately back to her jovial, not-really-murderous self. "You okay in there?" she asks, walking over to the edge of the lava lake and peering in. "Hellooooo~?"

Lemeza Kosugi (6258) has posed:
Blub. Blub. A few bubbles of air break on the surface of the lava. About a minute passes before Lemeza climbs out of the pool, shaking off stray bits of molten rock. "Ow... okay, how'd you suddenly learn to aim?!" Well, at least he's intact. "I see you know how to end a fight. Not bad." He's grimacing pretty bad, practically limping toward the control panel to end the fight. Fortunately, once the arena's whisked away, his wounds are too -- and Yang's. "Man. I have /got/ to work on my speed. I should've completely dodged your last strike."

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
"That's my secret. As I take damage, I hit harder, I get faster... I'm most dangerous when I'm barely able to stand." replies Yang nonchalantly, following after Lemeza with a merry little skip in her step. "Anyway, who said I can't aim? Most of my targets are big dumb monsters with more bulk than brains. Works well enough for me most of the time." She leans over and very lightly digs Lemeza in the shoulder, after collapsing her gauntlets into bracelets again. "Besides, gotta save the best move for the big finish~."

Lemeza Kosugi (6258) has posed:
"Thing is, I'm /good/ at fighting that kind of opponent." Lemeza's clearly a bit upset with the loss. "Both your style, and the big hulking behemoths. I can generally avoid getting hit like that... augh!" Maybe more than a bit upset. "Man, I've got to up my game if I'm to keep up out here. I'm half-considering doing what you're doing and inviting others to just spar with me." He shakes his head in frustration.

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
"That's the thing, that invitation, isn't just to fight me." Yang says, opening her Scroll and flicking to one of the TV ads that ran. "It's a thing Ozpin set up after talking to the runners of the Shrine. Come and fight someone. Anyone. Expand your horizons in combat... that kinda stuff."
